However, something about the original post: y2k fears weren't wrong! At least the ones about worldwide computer failure weren't - I know the theories ran a little wild. It was only due to a whole lot of frantic hard work that we were able to avoid the disaster. When we think of y2k, we shouldn't be thinking "oh ho, those silly foolish humans, worrying for nothing" but rather "wow, humanity working together can do some real good!"

soooo y2k fears just happened but 24 years and a half too late. a faulty software update by CrowdStrike, an american cybersecurity company, is causing global computer outages on windows computers. looks like aviation and 911 services are hit hardest. theres a workaround but it needs to be done on every individual pc

“Now, it’s time for the final challenge before the finale! I know how excited or scared you all may be right now, so without further a do, let’s start the challenge!”

“Uh… Pulse? The challenge…”

“…Any second now…”

“Wait wha- hang on OH SH—“

As soon as Step realizes his sense of Deja Vu, a trapdoor underneath him opens, dropping Step to who knows where.

“So, for this challenge, I managed to salvage some parts of the ULTIMATE OBSTACLE COURSE OF DEADLY PROPORTIONS, but I quickly came to the conclusion that a single buzzsaw and a truss wouldn’t make for a compelling challenge, so instead, I came up with another one, heheh…"

"In this new challenge, your goal is to get past three gates. These gates are opened by correctly answering questions of increasing difficulty.

“Now, why you may ask? Well, I put our beloved co-host in a cage suspended above a hole with a spike pit! If you don’t get past the gates within one minute, the cage opens, dropping him into the pit!” “Your goal is to save him by getting past the gates and also the Nulls past the last one, and getting them out safely.”

“Oh. And just incase you needed any more motivation… Heheh…”

Pulse turns on a TV, and it shows the cage with Step inside... along with the person closest to the Competitor inside.

“I have invited some… familiar faces to join us for this challenge, heheheh!”

“Now before we start, I gotta mention. Extra points are earned by getting them out as fast as possible. The timer for the points stops as soon as you and Step touch, so you gotta be fast~~”

“Anyways, on your marks, get set, go!”

The cage room is the exact room from Challenge 2, and anyone inside can also escape, although the nulls off to the side are kinda numerous and will try to put them back in if they escape

Plus, escaping the cage early doesn’t give the extra points

The gates’ questions are:

What is 12 x 2 / 2 x 2 / 2 - 6 + 1?

Your cubes can break through the gates if they cannot solve them

The extra point timer is separate from the cage’s timer, so you can still touch Step and after the cage opened

...BUT IT ALSO REVEALED THAT IT'S STILL RUNNING ON FUCKING WINDOWS 98.

DISNEY I AM BEGGING YALL TO GIVE THIS RIDE A REVAMP. AN ACTUALLY GOOD REVAMP. PREFERRABLY A REMAKE OF THE ORIGINAL WITH UPDATED IMAGINEERING.

More of my Transformers AU Autobots (forgot to post these here oops)

Design Notes:

I had to get creative for the characters without any other versions , especially those recently made like Twitch, Thrash, Quickshadow, Salvage, and the other Elita squad members. ( as in I tried pulling what Derrick J Wyatt does by inserting some form of reference or vaguge inspiration for certain characters).

- Moonracer was based around a rabbit aesthetic (because of the moon bunny myth thing), with Moon Girl for referencing the goggles.

- Greenlight was inspired by Y2K tech (hence the clear green parts and glossy white body)

-Designing Thrash after Hunter from The Owl House was a no brainer as Zeno Robinson voiced both. I added dents and scratches to inply him being reckless in Cyberstrikers, and later figured adding paint scratches on his face to replicate Hunter's scars would work. Other additions were Hunter's toothgap and the Flapjack tattoo from Watching and Dreaming as a decal on his alt mode

- Salvage's alt was inspired by the garbage trucks used in both the 2014/16 and 2018 versions of Ninja Turtles, so I ended up giving him a mask and staff accessory

- Most of Quickshadow's inspirations lie in vehicle mode. Given she turned into a movie prop used by a fictional James Bond parody named Maven Danger, Quickshadow's Cyberstrikers alt ended up being based on three different spy vehicles from fiction ( Bond's Aston DB5, Finn McMissile, and The Mach 5)

- Star Saber was indeed based on a Gundam. Specifically Unicorn, 00, and Aerial's designs. Knowing the designer of the RX-78 designed his G1 design, I figured a new design should have a similar design philosphy with the updated Gundam aesthetics.

- Warpath ended up with a robot mode inspired by Cherno Alpha from Pacific Rim, as well as a Warhammer 40k-inspired tank mode.

current speculation is Chris will be addressed sometime tomorrow since it's the weekend. the backlash came at a really kinda bad time in terms of the news cycle-released the day before the livestream, the whole massive cyberstrike outage on Friday, then followed by the weekend. plus I've got a sneaking suspicion that Chris has damn good connections with how he came back with minimal problems after his "hiatus". I personally hope that they also review whoever they've hired as the casting director for the EN version. because this was all very easily avoidable by just. a simple Google search of Chris' name. it's also negligent on the casting studio's part

I'm just thankful that the consequences of Griffin's actions were swift, and he's already been removed from an indie game.

The blunder is on the face of it pretty funny, dgmw, but the Cyberstrike bug almost certainly comes with a death toll considering, among other things, hospital systems and emergency services going down. So I do feel like it's worth it to keep that in mind.

I was evil but all my evil friends betrayed me and now I’m going to latch onto the first person who shows me kindness. If that happens to be the protagonist, I am totally fine with realigning my morality to match theirs.

I never wanted to do what I did, and now the biggest obstacle to me switching sides is convincing me that I’m not a living weapon.
