I'm making a BillStan Fanfic right now but I'm not sure if it's ooc or not so uh here's a sneak peak (WIP):
He walked around the house as he reached the gift shop's door, slowly opening it. He peeked outside and saw a pinkish, round headed creature that's standing. Wearing a lab coat and glasses while holding a clipboard. “Stanley Pines?” it asked, turning its head slightly to its side. “Yes?” Stan replied, wondering why an axolotl was here, then again, anything can happen in Gravity Falls.
“Ah! Lovely to finally meet you, you can call me Ax, Bills doctorー”
“Bill Cipher!?” Stan exclaimed, did I not hit him hard enough? He was burned, reduced to ashes.
“Yes, I know some of you and your family's history with him. Not a lot, only his therapist knows. And they recommended Bill to have a summer with you and your family. It would help his healing process.” the salamander explained. It moves to the side and reveals Bill, only, he was not a triangle anymore. He had a human form. Almost human―he had a lanky build, pointy ears, yellow-ish skin, shoulder length blond and black hair, and a cyan slash against his face. He wore a bright orange suit, like the ones in prison and he had a collar around his neck.
“We’ve completely stripped his powers so you don’t have to worry about him suddenly bursting into flames. Oh and, Before I forget, here's the remoteー” a small black remote was pushed into Stan's free hand, “ーfor the collar around his neck. It shocks him, it doesn't do much damage, just enough to control him. I'll take my leave now, buh-bye!” The salamander then disappeared.
Stan presses the button his finger was hovering on. “Fuckー” Bill said as he held the collar. “What are you actually doing here? I don't know if this is some sick joke to get back at usー me but i'm uninterested.” Stan spat out, his finger lingering on the button again.
“Wait, wait, wait! I swear this isn't a trick, if it was, I wouldn't let that thing near me.” Bill said, sitting on his knees on the porch. A long silence fell before Bill realized Stan would listen to his explanation.
“After you “killed” me I shattered. And that was the only time I was scared that I’d actually lose my life so I called out to the Axolotls’ name. But in return for me living again, I went to theraprisim. Time over there is different from here, I was there for 1000 years. Some time for me but a lot for you.”
They hear footsteps approaching them.
“Grunle Stan, who are you talking to?” Mabel asked, standing at the corridor separating the gift shop and the house. “Don’t worry about it pumpkin. Just some homeless man.” Stan says as he shuts the door. Bill sees this as an opportunity and runs for it—click—he falls to the ground groaning.
Mabel stares blankly at Stan, reading his body language, one hand behind his back, forced smile, his eyes looking at anywhere but her. “You’re lying.” she said, staring blankly.
“What? No..” dragging the o, “..yeah but let's talk about it later. Let's eat first, you go sit, I'll be there.” Mable then turns to go to the dining room. Stan watches her until she is completely out of sight.
He turns around and opens the door again, seeing Bill on the ground, “I don't trust you around my family but I’m not letting you roam free.” He took a fistful of Bill's clothes and dragged him as he took a rope from the shop and tied his hands behind a tree. “Don’t think about escaping, I have your remote.” he threatened. “I know Pines.” Bill said, saying the family's name bitterly. Click. “Shitー why do you keep using that? Do you feel some sort of revenge? Being able to control me?” Bill asked genuinely but it sounded like taunting to Stan. Stan stayed silent, tightly tying the rope around his wrists. Once he finished, he stood up and went back into the house.
Let me know if this is ooc or bad writing, I'm new to this so sorry, please leave criticism :3
edit; This is just the first part btw, it's a oneshot. They get to know each other of course

AU where Ford summons Jill first, where Jill becomes his muse instead of Bill, where Ford doesn't fall for Bill's manipulation
Tumblr media
Standing in front of the cave paintings, Ford reads the warnings written down for anyone wishing to summon one of the two demons. One cave painting has a triangle with a tall top hat and a bow tie while the other has a triangle with a shorter top hat, a monocle, and a ribbon tie, the same markings on both of the cryptic wheel.
Do NOT summon Bill Cipher at all costs! He craves the destruction of our universe and will trick anyone to get what he wants! He has manipulated me and plagued me with nightmares every night when I refused to do what he wished. Whatever you do, do NOT trust any yellow triangles trying to make a deal with you! DON'T read Bill's incantations out loud!
Huh, noted. Don't summon any yellow triangles. Ford notes it down in his journal and turns to read the message on the other wheel.
If you wish to summon a powerful dream demon, Jill Cipher is the more trustworthy one. This demon still has morals, unlike their twin brother. I've made a few deals with this demon and I can safely say my interactions with them were much more pleasant than Bill's, not to mention how they kept me safe from him and his nightmares. If you need to trust a demon, this one's your demon!
Well, now Ford knows which demon to summon. He notes it down before reading the incantations to summon Jill out loud. After a moment...nothing happens. His eyebrows furrow as he frowns in questioning before leaving the cave.
Much later he's sitting against a tree in a birch forest; his eyelids growing heavy as he begins to slowly doze off. His eyes flutter shut and when he opens them again, he finds himself leaning against a big pine tree on a floating island, a beautiful, vibrant, and vivid galaxy as the sky with a few more floating islands surrounding the one he's on in varying distances and sizes.
Ford gasps in awe and stands up, slowly wandering around the island he's on while looking around at the scenery. The island he's on has a small pond and a bunch of beautiful plants and flowers, some of which are bioluminescent.
He steps up to the edge and looks down, wondering what would happen if he fell off the edge. It's just a dream, right? But it's too vivid to just be a dream...
"Welcome!" Upon hearing the echo-y voice with a strange filter to it, Ford spins around to see, not the triangle he thought he was going to see but someone with a humanoid body that resembles said triangle, floating above the pond with a bright, toothy smile, a fang poking out.
This demonic figure has a short, plump, curvy, and feminine body type with royal purple skin, a glowing light purple left eye and a black triangular eyepatch covering the right, black shoulder length hair parted to the side with a dark yet vibrant red color on their tips on the right and purple on the left, fangs, claws with a black gradient on their arms and legs with a glowing brick pattern on their arms in the colors cyan, hot pink, and sea foam green. They wear a monocle, a small floating top hat, and a fancy outfit with a white button-up shirt and black ribbon tie, a black and white galaxy skirt, a purple vest with a brick pattern on it, and a black trench coat with a few tints of purple on it.
"Who- who are you...?" Ford gasps softly, staring at the eldrich being in awe. "Are you...Jill Cipher?"
"Yep! I'd prefer if you call me Amber, though!" Amber tips their top hat at him with a dramatic and graceful bow. "You must be Stanford Pines, the one who summoned me! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
"I-I am, how did you know?" Ford asks and takes a step closer to them.
"It's a little ability I have; I know people's names before they even mention it, like second nature." Amber floats down to the island and steps up to him. With the snap of their fingers, a table and chairs appear out of thin air next to them, the table covered with teacups and plates and all kinds of sweets. "Want something to snack on? Some tea?"
"I-I'd love that." Ford sits himself in front of them and picks up a tea cup, sipping the tea already inside. It has a sweet taste to it with a hint of something fruity to it- probably raspberries if he's assuming correctly. The taste feels so real it's like he's actually drinking it.
Ford takes a moment to look around at the galaxy in awe, admiring all the stars and the bright colors. "Where are we?"
Amber smiles at his amazed reaction, sipping their own tea. "What do you think? It's my own personal little pocket dimension. When I visit people's dreams, I usually use this as my scenery."
"It's...beautiful..." Ford mutters softly, the bright stars reflecting off his eyes in an enchanting way. Amber finds themselves staring for a little moment longer before speaking.
"Thank you; I made it." Amber says proudly and sips their tea with a smile on their lips.
"You made this?" Ford turns his attention to Amber.
"Yep! Every single detail comes from my own imagination, my own mind. Every shimmer of the stars, every shine of the bioluminescent plants, everything." Amber says and sets their tea cup down, grabbing a cookie and taking a bite out of it.
"You must have a beautiful mind, then." Ford unconsciously replies, not realizing how flirty it sounded until it was out of his mouth.
A bright, genuine grin spreads on Amber lips and they glance away, blushing a faint...silver? "Thank you." Amber says, biting their lip with their fang.
Ford smiles at their flustered reaction, feeling proud of himself for making a powerful being like Amber blush. "Incredible...I've never seen anything blush silver before..." He mutters in awe.
"Ah, that. Yeah, my blood looks like mercury." Amber shrugs, turning to face him again and finishing up their cookie.
Ford stands up and quickly steps in front of Amber, cupping their chubby cheeks and staring at their blush in awe, noticing their silver freckles too. "Incredible..." He mutters to himself, unaware of how intimate this is.
Amber's silver blush glows brighter and they look up at him, staring into his eyes and admiring the way the stars shine off of it.
"May I have a sample?" Ford breaks the silence, unconsciously stroking their cheek with his thumb.
"Ah- sure, once I get a physical form. Be careful though, my blood makes people nauseous." Amber warns, resisting the urge to melt in his touch.
"Oh don't worry, I don't mind the sight of blood." Ford shrugs off their warning.
"No, I mean it will make you nauseous. Physically it can make anyone feel nausea just by being near it...for some reason??" Amber warns again.
"Incredible..." Ford mutters, thinking to himself.
Amber focuses their attention on his hands cupping their cheeks, and soon they realize something just by touch alone. "You have six fingers?"
Ford tenses up and glances away. "Yes..."
"That's amazing." Amber says with a smile and places their hand on top of his, feeling his extra fingers, mindful not to scratch him with their claw.
Now it's Ford's turn to blush. He perks up and looks down at them with wide eyes, surprised by their gentle touch and compliment on something he's been bullied for all his life. "Y-You really think so...?"
"Of course, why wouldn’t I?" Amber replies in a soft tone with a warm smile.
Ford realizes just how intimate this is and pulls his hands away from their face, stepping back and sitting back down in his chair. "Wha- What was with the triangle, on the wall of the cave?" He changes the subject, hoping they don't notice how red his cheeks are.
"Which one?"
"The one with the monocle."
"Ah, yes. That's what I used to look like before I changed my form to a more humanoid one. I mostly have a physical body, but I can’t go into your dimension yet because I haven't found a portal to take me there." Amber explains, taking a cake pop off the table and taking a bite out of it.
"Why do you want to come to my dimension?" Ford asks, grabbing a brownie off the table and taking a bite out of it. The taste is a rich, delicious chocolate and the brownie itself is soft- it feels like he's actually eating it.
"To explore. Your dimension interests me; I haven't been to it yet but I want to spend some time there, to get to know the place. Especially Gravity Falls; that's where most of the weirdness is at." Amber smiles at him and finishes their cake pop, setting the stick on the table.
"What if I built you a portal?" Ford asks, finishing off his brownie and leaning back against the chair.
Amber grins brightly at him when he suggests that. "That's right, you're a genius inventor and scientist."
He glances away with a flustered grin, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thank you- ah, y-yes, I am."
"That's very sweet, offering to build a portal just for me. Why, if I may ask?" Amber leans against their arms on the table, their elbows resting on the surface of the table while their head rests on the back of their hands.
Ford's cheeks heat up at their soft tone of voice and the look they're giving him. He glances away, his eyes darting down to the grass of the island. "Well- I-I just...I-It could be nice, seeing you in real life and not just my dreams."
Amber stares for a moment with a genuine smile on their lips- so far this human is the cutest thing they've ever seen. "I'd like that."
"Do- do we have to make a deal, or...?" He trails off.
"We don't have to, but if you want to we can." Amber shrugs.
Ford takes a moment to think. "If I build you a portal to access my dimension, would you show me around yours?"
Amber's smile falters and they glance down, a hint of sorrow in their eye. "Unfortunately, I can't show you my home dimension. Or, the dimension I originally came from." Amber says softly.
Ford's eyebrows furrow and he gives them a sympathetic look. "What happened...?"
"My dimension was destroyed many, many years ago." Amber says softly, a slight frown playing on their lips.
"By what...?" Ford asks softly, not wanting to bring back bad memories.
Amber pauses for a moment. "Have you met my brother, Bill?" He shakes his head. "Okay good, he hasn't influenced you yet." Amber takes a pause and leans back in their chair, waiting for a moment before speaking. "My brother has become a very cruel triangle over the years, but he wasn't always that way. He destroyed our dimension purely on accident- he just wanted our people to see the stars, unaware it would cause our dimension to burn into ashes. If you ask him, he'd tell you he purposely destroyed it; but I know what really happened. It was a horrible accident made from pure intentions."
"I'm...so sorry you had to go through that..." Ford says softly with a frown, his eyebrows furrowing in sympathy for his new friend.
Amber nods in acknowledgement, as if to say thank you without saying it. "I believe I've mostly healed since then, it's been many years since." A moment of silence fills the dream before Amber sits up. "Anyway, you were saying?"
"Ah, right- well..." He thinks for a moment. "If I build you a portal to access my dimension, can you take me to some of the dimensions you've been to?"
"Of course, and I'll even protect you from harm." Amber smiles at him.
"I appreciate that." Ford smiles back at them. "Would you also mind helping me with my research?"
"Of course. I'd be more than happy to help a scientist as handsome as you." Amber says. Did they just...flirt with him?? A demon as attractive as they are, flirting with a mere mortal such as him?? Ford couldn't me more flattered.
"I-I- uh...th-thank you!" He clears his throat, glancing down at the grass. Why is he so attracted to a being so far from human? He's never felt this way with anyone before...wait, they're a demon, right? He wonders what it would be like if they possessed him... "Is...Is there anything you want, to make this deal fair?"
"I think the deals already pretty fair; I mean, you're building me a portal, that's a lot of work already." Amber shrugs.
"Well..." How does he word this? "Maybe...if you need access to my dimension before the portal is finished, you could...possess me?" What a ridiculous request; Ford can feel the heat rushing to his cheeks again.
"Are you sure? I could possess a doll or something instead?" Amber asks with a smile, slightly surprised he's offering to be possessed just like that.
"I'm sure." Ford replies almost immediately.
Letting out a giggle, Amber stands up and approaches him, a smile on their lips. "Alright; if that's what you want, then let's make it official." They hold out their hand for him to shake, a blue flame surrounding it. Ford hesitates, not sure if it would burn him, before he takes their hand in his in a firm handshake, sealing the deal.
"A deals a deal." Ford says, glancing down at their clawed hand before looking back up at their face.
"I promise if I ever need to possess you, I'll take good care of your body." Amber reassures with a warm smile.
"Thank you, my muse..."

GRUVIA WEEK 2023 — DAY SEVEN: CONTENTMENT
@gruviaweek
Tumblr media
FROSTY WIND gusting through the pine trees, the sweet aroma of gingerbread cookies and candy cane, a picture-perfect warm fire dancing with the wood in the fireplace, and gooey love drifting through the atmosphere enveloping the people in a mist.
Shades of white covered the entire land in a thick blanket as pointed icicles decorated the window, cyan orbs lost in the motion of snowflakes trickling down the quaint town of Magnolia as he brought the cup of cafe mocha in his mouth, the rich chocolate flavors bursting through his system.
Years had gone by, trends had changed, and old buildings and roads had been refurbished, yet the sweet taste of the beverages in Mira's Cafe that he had known ever since he was a kid had always stayed the same. He despised changes more than anything in the world, maybe it was also the reason that he resisted the urge to leave their hometown like anyone else; there were times when he had to welcome the inevitable unknown only to go back to where he was used to growing up.
The screeching of the chair against the marble floor brought him out of his reverie, turning his head to meet the gaze of the person standing before his hooded eyes. He could feel his breath hitching, his dark pupils widening as his heart thumped out of his ribcage coming face to face with the person — no, a ghost from his past.
The first thing he noticed about her was her azure loose waves, they had grown longer with specks of lavender hues on their ends, resting on the luxurious beige coat around her body which had grown more mature, voluptuous as it perfectly embraced her figure donning a black top that matched her skirt that reached up to her mid-thigh.
The stars dancing in her oceanic orbs were shining brighter than he could remember, the last time he gazed into her eyes — it was laced with tears and pain that he had caused. In her delicate hands was a net basket of carnations blooming in vivid pink shades, he also took note of the snowflake diamond jewelry on her ring finger.
"Juvia," her name seems foreign tumbling out of his lips, yet in the same way, familiar.
"Lyon," her voice had grown more feminine as a sweet smile graced her features, one that he hadn't seen in years.
Acting politely, he stood up to help her towards the sit before him to which she reciprocated with a simple 'thank you.' He sat down in front of her, only feeling the awkward atmosphere that seems to envelop the two young adults.
"Juvia knew she'd find you here, Lyon," the blue-haired lady was the first one to break the silence, trying to ease the awkwardness circling their space with the joyful rhythm of her voice. "How has Lyon been?" she intoned.
Lyon faked a cough before answering, "I've been good, Juvia. Working as a public lawyer had been tiring, but it was fun. How about you?"
"Juvia had been doing good too, she learned a lot of new things about marine life while working at Alvarez. She's been saying yes, instead of no. Also, did Lyon know that dolphins sleep with only one-eyed close?" she seemed excited, her fingers tracing the G initial engraved on her circular pendant which did not go unremarked by the silver-head man, he can't help but wonder what the initial meant.
"I have no idea," Lyon chuckled at her display of excitement remembering the same old Juvia who easily got excited over the minuscule of things.
Juvia genuinely smiled as she observed the crease by his hooded eyes as he cackled, the melody of his laughter seeming like an old song that she hadn't heard in years that she almost forgot how it sounded like; even though his cries when she left him by the lakes constantly haunted her in her sleep a few years back.
"Juvia had this dream Lyon's doing cool shit."
Lyon halt from laughing, tilting his head as he never heard her curse even before, "Like what?"
"Having adventures on your own. Juvia dreamt that Lyon met some woman on the internet and take her home," Juvia responded, looking out at the scenery at the window.
Lyon's brows drew in a straight line, "Wow! That's quite the dream. Contrary to your sleep visions, I haven't been seeing anyone after Ultear." And after you left, he wanted to drag those words out of his mouth, yet found it improper, instead, he asked to further get the conversation going. "How about you? Have you been seeing someone?" he queried his former best friend.
With a flicker of overwhelming emotions that flashed through her orbs, further enhancing the glow of the stars beneath her voids that resembled that of the ocean that she fancy, and the tint of roses coating her high cheekbones, he could only deduce that she's caught in a love mist.
One, two, three.
Lyon waited for the excruciating waves of grief to trickle through his heart; to feel his lungs screaming for air as it felt like a thousand roses laced with thorns is blocking his airway as death knocked through his door of life — the same anguish that he felt almost ten years ago, only that it didn't come.
Had time changed his feelings contrary to his belief?
"Who's the lucky guy?" he didn't know but his mouth somehow formulated those words.
Hazy chuckles erupted from Juvia as she handed him the basket of carnations, he had only noticed the ivory envelope resting in the center with a gold wax seal. The blue-haired girl gestured for him to open the envelope which he instantly obliged, curious.
Together with their families
Gray and Juvia
Request the pleasure of your gracious
presence at their engagement celebration.
It was Gray, of course, he should have known.
Gray and Juvia, their names etched with a fine foil print on the scented paper in swooping, sloping, cursive alphabetical characters were the catalysts to the memories that he had tried to bury deep in his soul; the moments that he realized that it has always been Gray for Juvia as Juvia had always been for Gray.
The tale of the trio's friendship had its genesis in snowy weather with three snowmen clad in Juvia's Santa hats, the ridiculous purple hand-me-down gloves from Gray's sister, and the scarves that Lyon stole from his mother.
The cold breeze continuously prompts the six-year-old Juvia to erupt in a cute sneeze as her tiny fingers moved to shape the snow in a circle, the plush sweater that resembled that of a pink frog failing to do its job to shield her from the cold.
"Stupid Juvia, just go inside the house," shrieked the seven-year-old raven-haired boy, pointing to the house beside his home as he had enough of her sneezes.
"No, Juvia wants to win!" the younger girl cried as she thumped her feet against the snow-covered ground.
"Let her be, you idiot!" taunted an eight-year-old Lyon who was lost in his world as he sculpt his snowman to perfection.
Gray stood up from his comfortable squat on the ground, harshly removing the scarf draped around his almost-finished snowman which caused the figure that he made for half an hour to crumble down into nothing but an ugly lump, mixing with the ivory land.
The silver-haired kid jumped up and down as he watch his friend's snowman disintegrate, "I won!"
"No!"
Gray paid Lyon no heed, walking towards the blue-haired girl having a tantrum at Lyon's outburst. Standing in front of her, he encircled the red frozen scarf around her which engaged a shriek from Juvia. "G-Gray, no way! It's cold!" she embraced her arms around her body, squatting down on the ground.
Gray's hand trembled, quite shocked at her reaction as he quickly moved to untangle the scarf around the younger kid, confusion dancing in his deep-blue orbs. "What's wrong? Teacher Elfman said that scarves are made to keep people warm, right?" he questioned naively.
The sound of Juvia's sweet snortles resonated through his ears as he helped her stand up, the blue-haired girl tilted her head in a wavy azure bob as she began to wonder alongside Gray, she motioned the older boy to scoot down as she whispered in his ear, "Maybe Lyon's scarf is broken because he just stole it from Auntie?"
"Hey, I heard it!"
A seventeen-year-old Lyon threw his phone on the bed, his fingers raking his silver hair as he felt the frustration from his never-ending fights with his girlfriend consume him. He lay on the bed, covering his eyes with his hand as he debated climbing over to Ultear's balcony which is a house away from his own to fix their misunderstanding, and if he was lucky, he can have her writhing underneath him or the other way around and make out thoroughly with her, but he decided against it as she says over the phone and he quoted, "I need space."
The teenager stood up from his bed, deciding to just take a much-needed cold shower he opened the blinds to let some light from the sunset seep through his room when a scenery from the next door window caught his eye. His brows drew in a thick line, confused as to what were those two doing. Ever since he dated the purple-haired lady next-next door, he hadn't been able to hang out with his best friends.
Gray lazily sit on Juvia's bed with Frosch resting on his bare stomach as he read one of the beauty's books about marine life, while the female was slumped in front of him with his bejeweled guitar (courtesy of Juvia) resting on her front seemingly playing a song which prompts the raven-haired athlete to cover his ears with his hands.
The tune of Juvia's carefree laughter drifted through the air, even engaging a smile on the silver-haired teenager's forlorn features. Her laughter ceased when Gray rested his forehead against hers, their pointed noses brushing against each other. Juvia put down the guitar, her forefinger moving against her best friend's bare chest as she traced stars around the area where his heart resides. The raven-haired male moved his head away from her, only to rest it against her shoulder as he buried his face in her azure curls, the spectator couldn't help but to take notice of Gray's ear blushing to a healthy shade of red.
The silver-haired male closed the blinds as his jaw clenched, feeling rather vexed over something that he didn't know.
The golden rays of the morning star spread their scorching warmth on the beach, providing heat on the water, the sound of the waves meeting the shore should have been peaceful yet it felt menacingly eerie. The pure sand seeped its way inside his sandals, despite the heat beating down against his body; Lyon could feel the cold sweat trickling down his pale skin as he stood frozen on the ground, his dark pupils shrinking as he stared at Juvia who seems rather pale and unbreathing as she lay in the arms of Gray.
As if she was a delicate China that could break with mishandling, Gray gingerly placed her on the ground as he sat next to her. Trying to be as calm as he could, feigning ignorance to the quivering of his body as his mind dreaded the worst-case scenarios or how he felt like air is being punched out of his lungs, the raven-head placed his hands at the center of the female's chest. His palms pushed as hard and fast as he could, deducing that his best friend wasn't responding, he was swift to tilt her chin upwards as he pinch her nose, sealing her lips with his own as he blew as much air into her mouth.
The hockey player kept repeating the cycle several times, until the blue-haired girl began coughing up a huge amount of water, feebly shifting to her side to vomit more water. The first thing that she saw was Gray when she opened her blue eyes, heaving rapidly with heavy panting as she tuck Gray in a tight embrace as memories underneath the surface of the sea began flooding her mind.
"J-Juvia t-thought she'd," blazing tears began to course down her red cheeks, slender fingers clinging to his back. Her shoulders tremble with the force of her emotions as she forced herself to say, choking on her sobs, "N-never sees you again, G-Gray-sama."
Broad shoulders quivering, the hockey athlete only stroked her tangled locks with his fingers, responding to her cries with the feel of his pale lips planted on her left temple as he embraced her tighter as if she'd evaporate in his arms.
Relief began to wash over Lyon as he watched his best friend alive and breathing, yet he couldn't help but taste an acidic flavor in his mouth as he realized that he did nothing but just stood there while she was fighting for her life. His cyan eyes watched over the two figures on the ground, a green monster emotion burning behind his dark orbs as he felt that there was more to his two best friends than meets the eye, he just can't seem to decipher what.
"Juvia's leaving in a month to study in Alvarez."
Lyon felt like the moment had stopped as her words registered in his mind, he stared wide-eyed and mouth agape as enormous emotions began to consume his being. The chirping of the crickets residing in the pine trees remained as the only music that enveloped the quiet evening, the glow of the crescent moon burning brightly in the ceiling of midnight sky gifted light in the quaint town of Magnolia in which the two figures sat side by side in front of Juvia's porch.
The barking of his dog next door bestowed him the courage to let out strangled words, "W-what do you mean?" A crease formed between his thick eyebrows as he gazed at the young lady, who exuded a melancholic aura as she further buried herself inside the embrace of her thick blanket.
Her bloodshot eyes were decorated with dark circles, and the radiance that she once emanate seemed to have flown out in the air as her pale lips trembled; it dawned on him that she must have been feeling under the weather for the past few days. The confusion began to circle his mind, ever since they were just children playing around in the neighborhood, it had always been her dream to leave this town and study abroad as her parents did before.
"Alvarez University is sponsoring Juvia a scholarship to study marine biology," she smiled weakly, her gaze drifting towards the empty road in front of them as she sink further into her sheets.
"Truth be told, Juvia's hesitating to leave. Somewhere deep in her soul, Juvia wants to stay in her comfort zone with her comfort people!" the acidic water trailing down her face was glistening under the moonlight. "Juvia does not want to leave G-Gray-sama behind, Juvia doesn't understand why he kept pushing her to go to Alvarez. And does Lyon know what's worst? He said he'd catch up on Juvia so she should just go, but Juvia knew how much he loves the hockey team here! Of course, Juvia being Juvia said no which resulted in a fight. Plus, other girls would probably make a move on him!" she ranted, breathing heavily, she broke out in a childish wail as her hands moved to conceal her face.
Lyon did not say anything, he ignored how she just blurted out her feelings for Gray, instead he hauled the blue-haired girl in a firm hug to show his sympathy as she let out her pent-up anguish to her friend. She buried her halo of blue in Lyon's shoulder, seeking warmth and comfort after being in solitude for days, without the familiar arms that used to hold her to tend her broken heart.
The heavy footsteps ghosting against the blue-haired chick's front lawn rang through his ears as he looked up, before he could register the storm brewing inside the dark-haired athlete's irises of oceanic blue, the older teenager was drawn upwards as his sharp jaw met his friend's fist causing him to tumble on the ground.
"Dude, what the fuck?!" Lyon screamed in the late evening, gaining the interest of their neighbors who instantly opened their respective windows to eavesdrop, desperate for some gossip, and that includes his ex-girlfriend with an unamused stare as cucumber coated her entire face.
Before Gray had the chance to pounce at him for the second time, Juvia was quick to intervene as she clasp her painted fingers around the furious male's wrists. "Gray-sama, no! Stop!" she shrieked as she leaned her head on his trembling back, drawing stars around his bruised fist to calm him down. Deducing that she needs to lay her armor down to end this cold war with Gray, the beauty flashed Lyon an apologetic smile before hauling the vexed man inside her house.
A flicker of realization dawned on the nineteen-year-old boy, he completely understood now.
"No."
Gravel-grey clouds hover above the pitched-black painted sky, droplets of rain plunged like thousand of icicles scraping his pale skin as he knelt in the wet ground holding out a raindrop ring residing inside a heart-shaped velvet box. The loud cries of the heavens failed to mask her single answer to his proposal, he clenched his teeth with the feeling that the natural calamity was mocking him with the acidic taste of the rain in the corner of his lips, how it rumbled throughout the sky resembling that of a madman's laugh.
Grueling waves of anguish transverse to his heart as a feeling of being ruptured over by a thousand shards flickered through his being, swift yet excruciating; roseate lace thorns seeped through his airways, heartwrenching, and bloody, blocking his means of breathing. The tears that escaped his cyan voids as it hauntingly coursed down his face like a river seeming as the only remedy to ease his pain as he grieved for the living, watching her azure waves drift as she ran away from him reflecting the agony that he was enduring.
Loath.
Underneath the shower of the petals of water, as he dreads the path towards his house, Lyon loathed himself and his foolish decisions more than anything in the world. It was ungentlemanly, proposing to Juvia on a whim as he strive to stop her from leaving Alvarez to chase her childhood dreams.
Egocentric.
The silver-haired man embraced his feelings, feigning ignorance of the emotions of his closest friends as he caused them misery, their prosperous yesterdays of childish laughs and cries seeming to fade into thin air with his act of egoism.
Lyon's soul felt thin as shame washed over his being, the hurt in his heart escalated as if he was struck by lightning, standing frozen a few meters in their neighborhood; his melancholic voids watched as the love of his life tiptoed to savor the taste of Gray's lips as if it is her greatest luxury, with the raven-head's arms embraced tightly around her quivering figure as if it'd shield her from the demons lurking in the world.
Or maybe it was Lyon, himself.
The homey aroma of hot chocolate laced with a hint of burnt wood wafting through Mira's cafe, gently tickling his nostrils was the catalyst to bring his mind back to reality. His keen eyes observed the person in front of her, her oceanic orbs drifting around the cafe she frequented as a child, trying to spot as many changes as she failed to do so.
Lyon brought the cup of his beverage to his lips, the sweet flavor providing him the determination to speak the words he failed to do back then. "Juvia," he began which caught her interest. "About the night before you left the country," recognition danced inside her starlike voids, "I sincerely apologize. Believe me, when I say, there wasn't a single night where I did not regret what I did. In my defense, I have none for not respecting your feelings to save my own."
The fair lady painted a ray of sunshine over her angelic features, "Juvia had long forgiven Lyon for that. And it's alright now, but that stunt is something, doesn't Lyon think so?"
"Well," he responded with a nervous laugh.
The awkward aura that he felt earlier ceased to exist as it seemed to have evaporated into the dense air, they continued to converse about their lives for half an hour over cups of hot chocolate and cafe mocha with gingerbread cookies on the side — a similar scenery back when they were foolish teenagers.
The silver-haired man had learned that she and Gray had been together for more than ten years, turns out the former hockey player found himself fascinated with glaciology when he set foot in Alvarez. Juvia had also told him that her relationship with the raven-haired male had hit quite a bump in the road, like how she thought they would break up in the morning after 'the great war' as she quoted, but contrary to her insecurities, the man had remained patient with her as she is for him.
Lyon relish the way how her orbs were sparkling every time she talked about her glaciologist of a fiance, yet there was a selfish part of him that couldn't help but wonder that if one of his wishes had come true, would he be the one to light up the stars in her eyes?
"No!" Juvia exclaimed as she fixed her gaze on her phone, a crease forming in between her defined eyebrows as she gaze back at him with an apologetic smile. "Juvia had to go now, does Lyon remember Lucy? She's going into labor now!" she hastily stood up on her heels, as she fished out two cards from her purse that ranges from blue to black colors.
Lyon stood up with a grin on his lips, receiving the cards in her beige-painted fingers before briefly checking it to see that it was Juvia and Gray's contact details. "Oh! The writer who's dating Dragneel? I'm hoping for her best delivery," intoned the man.
"Juvia truly enjoyed the chat today, she hopes we can catch up again some other time with Gray-sama like old times!" Juvia took a few steps towards the silver-haired man engaging him in a friendly hug as she pats his back before drawing away, "Be sure to bring a date next month! Juvia heard from Gray-sama that Ultear's single," she winked teasingly, before waving goodbye.
The lawyer stared at her as she walked towards the decorated door with a jump in her steps, observing her through the large window adorned with gilded pinecones, he noticed how she tucked a stray lock of azure behind her ear when a black Lexus car halted before her.
Gray emerged from the driver's seat to open up the car door for her, he rested his palms on both of her shoulders which made her stop in her strides, before removing the woolen grey-colored scarf around his neck to drape it around her, making sure to hide her gorgeous face from the cold.
Some things never change.
Satisfastion coursed through his veins, pleased that Gray and Juvia ended up with each other, despite trying to act as the villain of their story to sabotage fate himself. Some things are just meant to be, he thought as he took a sip from his beverage, catching a glimpse of vivid curls of bubblegum pink, and maroon eyes, walking past the couple.
Juvia encircled her slender arms around Gray's broad shoulders, sneakily pointing at the mistletoe by the bejeweled pivot door of the cafe. The raven-haired man rolled his blue eyes, whispering sweet nothings into her flushed ear, before leaning down to claim her luscious lips with his own.
A sense of contentment washer over Lyon as his orbs of cyan voids stared at his old friends with a proud gaze, the quaint town of Magnolia had never seen a love as pure as these childhood sweethearts who seemed oblivious to the lavender haze that they emanates.
All's well that ends well.

Basic Information Sheets
I finally finished the basic character sheets for (most of) my OCs!! They’re all under “keep reading”.
Note: This was before the creation of the “Numbered 1 through 13″ group, so they won’t be included in this. A separate post will be made for them later.
Name: Bonnie Yezany Job: Security Guard Species: Zenyany (4/4) Gender: Questioning Pronouns: It/Its Orientation: Questioning Note(s): Just an average security guard! Only purpose is to guard the over-glorified office building, nothing more.  Note(s) on Species: Common pattern in its species is the last names ending in “-any”. Usually has 3 to 8 eyes. Communicates via telepathy, so sign language is needed when speaking to superiors.
Name: Clematis Bo Miele Job: Barista Species: Human (4/4) Gender: Demiguy Pronouns: He/Him, They/Them Orientation: Asexual Homoromantic Note(s): A very stressed college student who hates their job due to the singing. A gay disaster. He is unaware that some people at Winter’s workplace find romantic interest in him, since he’s only there to deliver coffee.
Name: Daisy Caise Job: Artificial Helper (Pre-Incident), None (Post-Incident) Species: Hologram (Pre-Incident), Robot (Post-Incident) Gender: Unknown (Questioning, Post-Incident) Pronouns: Xe/Xim Orientation: Asexual Demiromantic Note(s): Can still be a hologram after the incident, but prefers the robot body. Always references wikipedia for information, and refers to wikipedia as “the free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit!”. Will panic if left alone for too long. Note(s) on Species: Originally meant to be in a hivemind. Can be infected by the virus going around the robots in the lab.
Name: “Lilac”  Job: Agent (During Incident), [REDACTED] (Pre-incident, Post-incident) Species: Shapeshifter [unknown what type] (4/4) Gender: Genderfluid Pronouns: They/Them, She/Her, Ze/Zim Orientation: Questioning Note(s): Under the tag “shapeshifting lilac”. Has unknown history with Oliv, but they really don’t like each other that much.  Note(s) on Species: Blood is purple, since blood is purple. Main form is spider-like in appearance. Not similar to other shapeshifters in abilities, so it’s assumed that they’re either a fake or that they’re a lone member of their species.
Name: Meredith Peppy “Meri” Stewart Job: Scientist (Pre-Incident), [REDACTED] (Post-Incident) Species: Human (3/4), Actolan (1/4) Gender: Agender Pronouns: She/Her, They/Them Orientation: Demisexual Panromantic Note(s): S/O uses “Pepsi” instead of “Peppy” as their middle name, due to their love of the beverage. Can lift heavy objects over their head (thanks to the ability to levitate objects). Isn’t great at remembering names. Note(s) on Species: Eyes naturally glow, but intensity depends on emotions. Has vampire-like fangs that are very sharp. Can pause time for certain amounts of time (the amount of time puased is how much the user ages, due to everything else stopping).
Name: Oliv Ine Vinstock Job: Scientist (Pre-Incident), Security Guard (Post-Incident) Species: Human (3/4), Robot (1/4) Gender: Genderqueer Pronouns: They/Them Orientation: Demisexual Demiromantic Note(s): Has no idea how to interact with human beings, so no understanding of social cues or facial expressions. Prefers to have face covered, for unknown reasons (might relate to the past note). Has many rumors about them, especially about their relationship to Daisy Caise.
Name: Quin  Job: Office Worker  Species: Reeseer Gender: Questioning Pronouns: She/Her, It/Its, They/Them Orientation: Questioning Note(s): Under the tag “cyan-haired pine tree”, since the only appearance was pining over the security guard. Hair tends to flare up due to any emotions. Note(s) on Species: Physically can’t speak or hear (no ears, no mouth), so sign language is needed when speaking to superiors.
Name: Viridian Jack “Viri” De Angelis Job: Souvenir Shop Worker (Pre-Incident), Bakery Cashier (Post-Incident) Species: Human (4/4) Gender: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Questioning) Pronouns: He/Him Orientation: Asexual Demiromantic  Note(s): Working to open up his own business. Goes to college for a lot of things... And somehow isn’t sleep deprived.
Name: Winter Marion Miele Job: Scientist (Pre-Incident), Baker (Post-Incident)  Species: Human (4/4) Gender: Agender Pronouns: None Orientation: Asexual Aromantic Note(s): Would be a good parent, if there were any children who needed a parental figure. Likes lifting up the short friends and carrying them around, since that’s a thing that Winter can do.

OVERVIEW: I'm still getting everything set up, but welcome to the blog! I'm Chesca and my main is @fvriva. I also post art on @cinalilli. If you have anything you'd like to see in this archive, feel free to shoot me a DM or an ask and I can take a look at it! I came to realize that I could really use a nicer way to organize the collection of online artists I reblog, but the level of care it would take to organize that is more of a side-blog venture than a main-blog venture.
TAGGING SYSTEM: Tags will primarily be by artist/relevant fandom and characters, then by medium, and then by whatever aesthetic features I think stand out about the piece + my commentary. I will also try to provide an image ID if there is not already one provided. I'll have a list of the tags under the cut, partially for my own organizational use. the only place where i'll use capitalization is for artist handles and media that requires it as a stylization choice. character names are always given name preceding surname. characters will be tagged by the most culturally relevant name. symbols come before letters. i do not know how to put the the non-latin-alphabet artist handles in alphabetical order.

Word Find Tag 1.9
Thank you for the tag @papercutsunset :)
aboard
home
I wake up and turn to my side. For my surprise Mike is lying next to me, rigid and awkward without a blanket, giving me all the space. His eyes are closed and his messy curls have fallen partly on his face. I rise to see my phone on the bedside table. I try to switch it on. Either I don't have any battery left or my phone is broken. I sigh staring up at the ceiling. I slide out of the bed and pad to the silent hall. I turn the lock and step oitside. The cold night air embrases my bare arms. I feel goosebumps forming on my skin. I sink down to sit on the steps outside. I gaze around me. I spot the cemetary and the city lights like lonesome fairy folk, beyond. I inhale the peaceful, breezy air. The sky is pitch black and peppered with brilliantly shining stars. "Hey", Mike says softly plopping down next to me. I turn to look at him. "You came."
"Of course I came." The familiar warm feeling rises in my chest as I cup his face and press my lips against his. "Where are the others?" he asks once we part. He still stays as close as it is possible. I take in his warmth and breathe in his familiar scent of coffee and laundry detergent. He takes off his hoodie and wraps it around me. "Now you'll be cold", I remark. "I'd rather have you be warm." There's a soft smile on his face. His hazel eyes seem to melt into the pine trees nearby. "They're still in Mystery Shore." I explain everything that happened. "And now I have no idea what to do."
"That hasn't stopped you before."
"This time it's going to. I'm knackered."
"You could stay at my place for a little while if you wanted to. You could come with me. We'll figure out what to do."
"Will you come with me to Mystery Shore?" I'm not sure who I surprise more, myself or Mike. He recovers quickly. "I'd go anywhere with you, Sunshine." He grins. "It's just that if I'm going to die again, I want to be with you." I grab his hand and squeeze it. It's bonkers really. How broken and sad I can be but still feel absolutely ecstatic. "Yeah, I already lost you once", he says. "I'm not losing you again."
"You fancy leaving and finding a 24/7 gas station?"
"Do you even have to ask?"
"No, not really", he admits. "You're such an idiot, you know that right? You left your home in the middle of the night just for me." I smirk. "Funny, that's what my sister said too. But it's not true", he remarks. "What isn't true?" I inquire. "I didn't leave home, I came home", he replies. I lean my head on his shoulder and we fall silent until I feel the need to say something. Now, I'll give you a heads up. I'm about to ruin the romantic narrative. I can't stay quiet for long and when I do say something it's usually a daft joke. Not this time though, yeah, I'm surprised too. "You're my home too." I smile.
define
A small girl with hair like a raven's plumage sits crosslegged on the hardwood floor of Étoiles estate's grand, darling library. There is a heavy book on her lap. She shuts her eyes. The pictures and the words of the tale dance across her eyelids. "Is it real?" a whisper escapes her lips. "Or just in my head?" Her eyes flutter open. Tiny figures, like shadows swirl on the yellowish paper. The girl watches them in deep fascination. "Define real", a voice reverberated around the room. Sunlight pours in the stained glass windows above the girl. The light dies the girl's delicately beautiful face in shades of cyan and indigo. A strange noice comes from the rafters. In alarm, the girl glances up. Something white and furry falls on the book. "Snow Queen", the girl sighs in relief watching as the cat settless on the pages and begins to cleanse herself. "You really startled me", the girl says maybe more to herself than the cat. "Hey, Li, you're not supposed to be reading anything scary." Suddenly wary, Felicia looked up to a pair of sky blue eyes. Henry runs his fingers through his tousled hair watching intently his little sister's reaction. "I know they're just stories", Felicia says defiantly. "They're not real."
draw
Losing her was like losing a part of me. The ferry ploughs through the waters. A wave of nausea washes over me. Dark grey clouds gather over the ferry. I let my gaze wonder around me. I spot a tall and scrawny bloke with shaggy, dark brown curls. He has a book on his lap. His wearing a pair of faded jeans, a bit too big for him and a wrinkly, red hoodie. A tingling sensation gets ahold of me. I feel like I should know him. I slide out of my seat and move towards him like something is pulling me there. I clear my throat. "Excuse me?" The bloke lifts his gaze and flashes a brilliant smile at me. Then it hits me. His eyes are soft and hazel coloured. Anger roars in my veins. I don't remember drawing my hand back but I remember my fist meeting his nose. Slightly panting I draw back. His nose is dripping blood and there is a shocked look in his eyes. "I could have saved her", I snarl. "But I saved you." Somehow he seems to realize who I'm talking about. "You're Cara", he says. "I'm sorry. I deserved the punch but you don't know everything." He presses his hand on his nose. Tiny rays of light travel underneath his fingers. Then he reveals his nose. It isn't bleeding anymore. I turn to walk away. "Skai's alive." I freeze in my tracks and turn again to look at Mike. "What?"
mood
"A black coffee, please", I say. "It'll fit my mood nicely." The girl puts her phone away. "Do I want to know what's wrong?" I shake my head. "Probably not." I notice her hair is chocolate brown and wavy, it falls down her back and shoulders. Her eyes are piercingly blue. Her skin is warm brown. Stormi, her name tag says. "You have a weird name", I point out. She raises an eyebrow at me. "Thank you. What's your name then?"'
"Samuel", I say. "You sound like you're from the Bible", Stormi remarks. "Fair enough." I shrug. "I'll bring the coffee over", she says with a small, crooked smile. I shrug again giving her the money and taking the change she offers. I zigzag between the tables trying to find a spot isolated enough. "Hey." I flinch as a girl next to one of the windows speaks. Her dark brown hair falls in shaggy curls down her narrow shoulders. Her eyes are dark brown. "You're Samuel, right? One of Skai's friends?" I nod. "Do you want to sit with me?" I realize she's Andrea. We've met once or twice briefly. "Allright." I take a seat opposite her. "Well, don't be too enthuasiastic about it." Andrea smirks. "Sorry", I grunt. "I broke up with my girlfriend today."
"Oh, I'm so sorry", Andrea replies smiling sadly. I can't help but notice that she is very beautiful. She looks very different from Hestia in a good way. "I'll be okay", I mutter. "I kind of broke up with my girlfriend today too", she says quietly. "Oh, I'm sorry", I say flatly. "It's okay", she says sadly. "It wasn't meant to be."
I'm tagging: @aloeverawrites (sorry if I tag you too much to stuff), @albatris, @char-writes, @the-void-writes and anyone else who wants to do this :)
The new words are: fog, eerie, ancient and grief

Order Feast
This took a week to write and its kinda rushed but oh well. Chismest is having their annual feast and Miriam and Audrey decide to celebrate with Kawn and Boni. (there is some bardriam so hecc,,)
Audrey woke up to a heavenly smell wafting through the air. She was sprawled across her cot in her shed. She should order a better bed because her back was killing her and she did not get consistent sleep. She realized that the sun had barely even started to rise. She brought her attention back to the aroma. It smelled of pastries and donuts, and boy was she hungry. She got up, cursing herself for sticking with a cot this long and got ready for the day. She grabbed her boots and gloves and put on her scabbard and sword. Lastly, she wrapped her beloved golden scarf around her neck, giving off a dramatic flair as the ends fluttered down.
She headed out the door and went immediately to the chicken coop and grabbed the bag of chicken feed and filled up the feed bucket for her beloved chicken Marmalade. The hen was fast asleep, so She continued to where the smell was coming from: Kawn’s House.
She opened the door and was greeted to the sight of a table with plates full of the most gorgeous pastries she had ever set her eyes on. She couldn’t remember the name of any of them but they looked delicious. Immediately, she went over and tried to grab one, but suddenly…
“Audrey NO!”
Audrey immediately stopped and looked over, it was kawn. They were wearing their greenish-white long sleeved shirt, but their capelet and cap were still on the hat rack. Instead they were wearing a green apron that matched his pants. They weren’t wearing any hat, but they had a hair net on. They looked kinda ridiculous like that.
“Kawn? What the heck are you doing??”
“It’s almost Lights’ Eve! I’m making pastries to bring for everyone when we start setting up the tree!”
“...What?” Audrey had no idea what any of that meant, but Kawn had an exhausted look on their face.
“...Did...Did I not tell you?” Kawn looked confused and stressed.
“...No.”
“Oh Eya’s sweet chords…” Kawn paced a bit messing with his apron.
“That means I prolly didn’t tell Mim!! Ouugh I don’t have a ride to Chismest!!”
“...Can I have a pastry?”
“Wh- I mean… That is really important to the holiday… but… Oh! Here, have one of these, I was practicing these for Light’s eve and I was just going to give them to the mayor as a gift!” Kawn proceeded to pull out a plate of these triangular shaped donuts with a cinnamon sugar glaze smeared upon the treat. Audrey quickly snatched one up.
“Aw heck yeah now you’re talking!” she proceeded to take a bite and was shocked by the fact it was cream filled. She looked at the cream as she finished her bite, The cream had blue and red dye swirling within, it wasn’t fully mixed to be purple. There was also a fruity filling.
“Wh-”
“It’s a light cake!” Kawn beamed, proud of their work. “The Baron family is in charge of hosting Order’s feast, Boni is the bard of Chismest so They’re resting til the feast! As the only one who remembers how to make Light cakes in my family, It is my duty to make them.” kawn was now bouncing slightly, excited to share their family tradition with Audrey.
“Wait, your last name is Baron?” Audrey choked back a laugh as she finished her light cake.
“Uhm… Ye?” Kawn tilted their head slightly.
Audrey swallowed her donut. “How did you not know that The Baron was your Dad??”
“...Well Baron is a title, I didn’t think it was his real name.”
“Ok yeah that’s fair.” Audrey thought for a moment. “Hey, can i come with you to the feast?”
Kawn’s face lit up. “Yeah!! It’ll be so much fun!! You can help set up the tree in the town centre!!”
“Alright I’ll go get Miriam to get you to Chismest, She can come back and pick me up.”
“Wait I thought you could fast travel?”
“Eh I wanna experience a broom ride.”
She would soon regret her decision.
She was miles in the sky, clinging to Miriam for dear life. Miriam had the biggest smug grin on her face, probably enjoying the panic audrey was in.
“Wow, so much for the ‘Brave hero!’” She cackled.
Audrey couldn’t find the strength to reply. Instead she just held onto Miriam tighter.
Miriam’s smirk grew, and she turned to the terrified ex-Hero.
“We’re almost there, better hold on tight!” she called, with the most devilish grin anyone had seen.
Audrey whimpered in fear, and managed to tighten her hold on Miriam. The witch was surprised she could even breathe at this point. She was living for it.
She pointed the broom down and dove towards the town below. Audrey let out a loud and shrill shriek of terror as she squinted her eyes close, waiting for the nightmare to be over.
Suddenly Audrey heard a malicious cackle.
Audrey opened her eyes to see that she was in the town centre, no one was there yet but there was a table that had all the sweets that kawn made. The witch was cackling so hard that Audrey questioned if she even had lungs. She would have yelled at her, or have gotten angry, but she was still shaking like a leaf. She shakily and carefully got off the broom, and silently thanked Eya for letting the broom ride end quickly.
Suddenly the two heard singing. It was a very beautiful duet, a wordless melody that drifted through the air. The Ex-Hero and The Witch looked over to see Kawn, and their sibling Boni.
Boni was a tall and fairly buff figure, and they wore a light cyan sweater, a sea green apron, and turquoise pants. Their beanie was knitted from hand and was the same turquoise as the pants, though its brim was a bluish green. The beanie was also decorated with a single red flower with a yellow inside.
Audrey pondered if they were like Kawn and just had a multitude of the same outfits because that is the exact same outfit Boni wore when they first met in the Lumber town in Xia-Tian.
However, Kawn wasn’t wearing their usual outfit, instead they were wearing a spring green sweater, their hand knitted beanie was a darker green but with a mint brim. The pants matched the color of the beanie. Both of the siblings were wearing boots designed for cold weather and thick leather gloves.  Audrey and Miriam noted that, despite Kawn being 5’7” tall (taller than the two of them) they looked short next to their older sibling who was 6’7”.
Boni and Kawn seemed to be lost in their song, joyously walking to the town Centre. Suddenly, Kawn let out an excited squeak and ran over to their friends. Audrey barely had any time to react to Kawn running over and hugging her, before they turned to Miriam and offered a hug. Miriam was glad that Kawn learned that she hated surprise hugs, but she was a tad jealous of the running hug Audrey got. She decided not to dwell on it and hugged The Bard, who sang out a short and sweet melody.
Kawn backed off and smiled at the two.
“How was your flight?”
Miriam smirked evilly.
“Oh it was just fantastic.”
“Ugh… I’m sticking to fast travel.” Audrey groaned.
Kawn felt like something happened, but before they could ask, Boni stepped up.
“Bitty? What is she doing here?” they asked. They were glaring down at The Ex-Hero that burnt their sibling to a crisp. They weren’t as forgiving as Kawn.
Audrey shrunk under the glare of the giant bard, she was sure her days were numbered.
“I uhm...I’m just-”
“Audrey and Miriam are here to celebrate with us!” Kawn quickly piped up. They seemed oblivious to the tension, and Audrey was about to suggest she go home to Langtree when Kawn continued.
“Why don’t you go get check if everyone is ready to set up the tree?” Miriam could tell kawn was panicking, their breathing had sped up a bit. She had gotten used to the small signs that showed they were upset.
Boni gave Audrey a tired glare before looking back at Kawn. “yeah that sounds like a good idea…” They gave a slight smile and headed off.
Kawn sat there for a second, and Miriam watched their breathing slow back down to a normal pace.
“Guess Bon-bon hasn’t forgiven you huh?” The bard gave a nervous chuckle.
“Can you blame them?” Miriam sneered, “You remember what Audrey did to you, and I know for a fact it still hurts!”
“Wait what!? Are we sure it’s not infected??” Audrey was now extremely concerned as she tried to check the scar.
“W-Woah Hey no no I’m fine!!” Kawn held the sweater down and hopped back, they were still smiling but even Audrey could tell that they were uncomfortable. “It doesn’t hurt Miriam!” They gave Miriam their best attempt at a comforting smile.
Miriam cocked an eyebrow, “Bet.” She grabbed some snow and rolled it into a ball and aimed for their chest.
“Woah WOAH WOAH HEY NOW LET”S TALK ABOUT THIS” Kawn started to sprint as the witch started to chase them on their broom.
Audrey watched the two run around the town square, Miriam was now using magick to form and chuck snowballs at the bard. While that chaos was happening, Audrey noticed a group of people. Well… “group.” It was three people, one of which being Boni. The other two were shorter than them but were also strong looking. One was carrying a pine tree, another was carrying lights, and Boni was carrying a generator for the lights.
Suddenly, the adrenaline from the broom ride wore off, and it prolly wasn’t helping that she had terrible sleep and an aching back, so it was no wonder Audrey suddenly felt exhausted. Kawn noticed this and was going to go over to check on her, but was pelted by a snowball.
“Ack!” the bard brushed off the snow from their head, “Audrey? You Ok?” Miriam frowned a bit, watching the hero.
“Ouuughh…” The hero groaned, before face-planting into the snow.
“AUDREY!!!!” Kawn ran over to their fallen friend.
“Mmmmsnnzzzz…”
“Oh…” Kawn frowned. “She must not have slept well last night.”
“We should just leave her there.”
“Miiiim! That’s mean!”
The commotion drew the attention of the older bard, who walked over and looked down at Audrey. They didn’t like Audrey, but they didn’t want her to catch a cold out here.
“You can take her to my room, you can put her in the guest room you’re using.” Boni sighed. Kawn nodded and struggled to pick their friend up. Boni may or may not have forgotten that Kawn wasn’t as strong as them. The younger bard slowly stumbled off with the sleepy adventurer to Boni’s house.
Boni sighed when Kawn left earshot, “I don’t understand it. Why are they so quick to forgive her?”
Miriam shrugged “I’m not sure, but it’s kinda annoying. But whatever, as long as they’re happy.”
Boni huffed and helped everyone set up the tree. They knew the first day would be uneventful as all the kids and families were busy at home making handmade decorations for the tree. Boni looked over at their two coworkers, Johann and Boris.
“You two go get the automatic watering fountain for the tree and some buckets of water, I’ll get started on the lights.”
Johann and Boris nodded and headed off.
Miriam huffed, “I can help with the lights, seems easy enough.”
“That would be great, thanks!”
After a few hours, the fountains were set up and half of the tree covered the tree when they ran out. Boni sent Boris and Johann to go get more lights. Eventually, Kawn and Audrey showed up again.
“Sorry about that! I also took a nap!” The bardlet sang as they skipped up. Audrey groggily lumbered after them.
“How are you so energetic all the time?”
“The trick is to be so upset with Eya that you enjoy life to spite her.”
“...Wait wh-”
“Oh! The tree looks lovely!”
Kawn completely ignored everyone’s look of concern as they skipped up to the tree and examined it. The only one who seemed unphased was Boni, but Audrey and Miriam figured she was used to this.
“Yeah we ran out of lights, I sent Boris and Johann to get more lights.” Boni said. They looked down at the smaller bard, before ruffling their hair. “I’m glad you didn’t sleep in a park bench, Bitty.”
“Ack!” Kawn stuck their tongue out before throwing some snow at their sibling.
“Oh is that what you wanna do?” Boni scooped up an enormous amount of snow and held it above the little bard, who squealed and ran.
“NOT AGAAAAAINNN!!!” Cried Kawn.
“YOU BROUGHT THIS UPON YOURSELF!!” Cackled Boni, keeping up behind them. Suddenly, Boris called Boni over. The two bards stopped and looked over.
“Hold up,” Boni said, dumping the snow on Kawn and walking over to Boris. The two talked for a bit before leaving.
“Ackpth” The bardlet dug themself free and playfully brushed themself off.
“So... ‘Bitty,” Audrey sneered, but her smug grin ended quickly as Kawn gave her the coldest glare she and the witch had ever seen from them.
The terrifying sight ended just as quickly as they looked over at the returning Boni and Boris, who were now carrying more lights, a ladder and another generator. Kawn ran over to help them, tho they weren’t very strong.
“...I...Is that normal?” Audrey asked.
“...Nope.” Miriam replied, “I’m not sure if I should be happy that Kawn is capable of being angry... or terrified.” she murmured.
The Ex-Hero only nodded in response before going to help.
They started to set up the generators and ladder, and Miriam got to work on her broom and Audrey got on the ladder and helped Miriam with the lights. It was getting late as they went along, and the wind had started to pick up. Audrey was reaching up to the top of the tree to put the last bit of lights when a gust of wind managed to blow her scarf off.
“NO!!” Audrey yelled before jumping off the ladder to try and catch it. The fabric slipped through her fingers as she fell quickly towards the ground. She did not think about how high up she was. Luckily, Boni was setting up a generator when she noticed the adventurer falling, and they quickly dove in to catch her so she would have a softer landing.
Audrey landed heavily in Boni’s arms, but still somewhat hit the hard cold floor, and immediately tried to get up and run after her scarf but Boni held onto her.
“What the hell are you doing!?” They cried, glaring down. However, their face quickly softened when they saw tears well in The small one’s eyes.
“MY SCARF!! I HAVE TO GET IT!!” She cried. Kawn was looking over from where they were fixing any broken lights, they started chasing after the scarf after they realized what had happened.
Boni wanted to stop them, but noticed Audrey wince when she put weight in her foot.
“Hey shh calm down, Kawn is going to go get your scarf...” Boni said, trying their best to pull off a soothing voice. Their sibling was much better at this, and it was hard because they knew what Audrey had done but...
They decided to put aside their feelings about Audrey for now.
They lifted up the protesting and sobbing hero, and looked over at Miriam who had floated down. Miriam started to say a snide comment about Audrey getting her comeuppance, but bit her tongue instead.
“I uh... How about I...” Miriam felt awkward trying to comfort the one who hurt both The bard and herself, “I Uhm... Brew up a potion to help soothe the pain. It seems she sprained her uhm... Ankle...” She shuffled nervously.
Boni nodded, “Boris, Johann, Take over for now, I’ll be right back. C’mon Miriam, let's get to my house.” The two headed home, Boni carrying the distressed ex-hero.
‘It’s just a scarf,’ Miriam thought ‘Why is she THIS upset about it?’
Then she remembered when her original broom broke. She was so mad and took her anger out on Kawn after they ran off and decided to help the witches that did that.
Eventually the three got to Boni’s and they set Audrey up with an ice-pack on her ankle, with a blanket, some of the sweets from the table and a nice mug of hot chocolate. Audrey still seemed upset but had calmed down.
Miriam was busy in the kitchen, with a bunch of ingredients for the potion. Boni had left an hour ago to finish setting up the tree. She looked outside and noticed that a blizzard had started up, and saw Johann and Boris heading home.
Suddenly, Boni walked in.
“Has Kawn come back?”
The witch shook her head as she poured the warm brew into a vial.
Boni huffed, “They’re gonna freeze out there.” The large bard seemed upset.
Miriam frowned and looked back outside. It was getting dark and Kawn had been out there for a long time.
She called her broom to her, “I’m going out to look for them.” Miriam knew Kawn would stop at nothing to find the scarf unless someone stepped in.
Boni huffed, “Not like that you’re not!” They dug in the closet before throwing a sweater at Miriam.
“I was going to give that to you for your birthday next year but it’s more useful now.”
Miriam pulled it off her face and looked at the sweater. It was a dark purple sweater like her dress with a cyan stripe across the middle.
“Thanks.” Miriam was thankful but her voice sounded dismissive. She put the sweater on over her usual outfit, pulling her cape over the sweater and heading off.
She followed the wind, since Kawn would still be following the scarf. It was extremely cold and her face stung as the wind sliced against her. Eventually, she saw Kawn trudging through the forest near Chismest, past the Nexus Point. They were shivering and still looking around, digging in the snow and looking in the trees.
Miriam swooped down and stopped in front of Kawn.
They looked up in shock and stared for a moment, processing everything happening.
“M-m-miriam?” The shivering bard cocked their head, “Wh-what are you doing here?”
Miriam huffed and lowered the broom and pulled Kawn on, “It’s too dangerous for you to keep looking for the scarf, c’mon.”
Kawn frowned and tried to resist but they were too cold to struggle much. Miriam flew back to Boni’s house.
Boni had finished making sandwiches for everyone by the time they got home. Kawn was still shivering when they hopped off the broom and stepped inside. Miriam hopped off the broom and went to go grab a blanket. Audrey looked up from her mug of hot chocolate.
“Did you find my scarf?!”
“N-n-no...” Kawn whimpered. Miriam was laying a blanket on them, and led them to the guest bedroom.
Audrey frowned and looked at the ground. Boni gave her a sandwich.
“Get some rest, tomorrow we’ll be decorating the tree.”
Audrey nodded a bit,”Thank you...” Her voice was low and sad.
Boni frowned, before they suddenly got a text. They looked at their phone, and then smiled. Soon, they quietly headed off to go work on a surprise.
The next morning, everyone was in the town centre. Parents, children, people who just lived here, all were working together to put their own creation upon the tree. Audrey’sankle still hurt but she hid the pain well, as she usually does when she gets injured. She was helping little kids find places to put their creations. She was still upset about her scarf, but she could just ask Kawn to go pick a new one up in Mount Ichor. It wouldn’t be the same, but... She couldn’t dwell on it. It was just a scarf.
She totally wasn’t still incredibly upset by the loss of her scarf.
Miriam was helping place the creations up on higher places, trying her best to prioritize children when working but usually just grabbing decorations and flying up. The two of them had been at this for hours, they were waiting for Kawn to finish cooking breakfast for them. Apparently it was tradition that at a certain point, everyone would go back to their home at select times for the three main meals of today, and the Barons, of all people, were the ones to call when breakfast starts.
Luckily, Miriam and Audrey were the Barons’ Guests.
Eventually, Boni showed up to let the town know that it was time for everyone to take time off for their family breakfast. Miriam quickly started flying home and Audrey started their way over to the house slowly on foot. They were still deeply upset about her scarf, despite what she would like everyone to believe.
Miriam and Audrey came in to find plates of pancakes ready on the table, as well as a pitcher of orange juice and some bottles of syrup.
“CREPES!!!” Audrey yelled.
Miriam rolled her eyes, “Pancakes.”
“Whatever.”
Kawn was passed out on the couch, holding a spatula. There was a cup of orange juice in front of them.
‘They must've been up extremely early’ Miriam thought, ‘They were cooking when I woke up and left.’
“Should we wake them up?” The ex-hero asked, lightly poking the bardlet.
“Probably not.” Miriam sat down in her chair and started serving herself. “Come eat or else it’ll get cold.
Audrey looked at the bard before going over and joining Miriam at the table and serving herself. Boni put a blanket on their sibling and joined the girls for breakfast.
“Eat up because tomorrow-” Boni ate some of their pancakes and downed some juice, “-is Light’s Eve.”
“Did you just eat an entire pancake in one bite?”  Audrey was almost jealous.
“What’s Light’s Eve?” Miriam ignored what she just saw.
“The day before the feast. Tomorrow, We are only eating light meals. So you will be eating one slice of french toast for breakfast, a turkey sandwich for lunch, and a small chicken breast for dinner. I planned this all out ahead so i could give you two a heads up, you don’t have to join us with that but we won’t be cooking anything more substantial for you.” Boni was swallowing another pancake.
Audrey was watching in horror as Boni quite literally inhaled their breakfast. Miriam was a bit perturbed but ignored it.
“I’m sure we’ll be fine with a light meal. We were lucky to even have so much as light meals during our adventure, we were mostly living off of dried fruits and nuts!” Miriam was very glad to be having meals again after the adventure, she hasn’t really complained about a meal since then. Audrey looked at Miriam with concern.
“Excuse me, what!?”
“What?”
“You and kawn lived off of...that??”
Miriam huffed, almost insulted.
“Look-”
“I’m done eating, you two finish up so we can get everyone and continue the decorating!” Boni interrupted. Miriam realized they were trying to de-escalate the situation. Miriam huffed but nodded. Audrey still looked concerned but looked over at the sleeping Bard.
“What about them?”
Boni looked over at kawn, “They’re in charge of feeding you two, as well as me but like... I get special treatment? Basically I get today and tomorrow to be lazy, because at midnight during The Order Feast, I have to sing ‘The Order March’”
Mim cocked an eyebrow “That’s just the Overseer Song, Kawn did that and they didn’t get tired.”
Boni huffed, almost insulted “I have to sing loud enough for all of Chismest to hear.”
“Oh”
“At midnight.”
“...oh.”  Miriam sunk into her shoulders.
Audrey was trying her best to imitate Boni and swallow a pancake whole, but was having a lot of trouble.
Miriam was taking a sip of juice when she went to look at Audrey and nearly spat out her drink. Audrey glared at Miriam as half of the pancake fell out her mouth. Boni smirked and got up to make sure Kawn was comfortable, and put the spatula on the counter.
The rest of the day was spent eating meals and decorating the tree. Kawn was usually asleep but Miriam figured (hoped) that it was just that they were tired.
During dinner, however, Kawn was awake and seemed pretty well rested and happy. They were talking with Boni while setting some gifts aside.
“Wait, were we supposed to bring gifts?” Miriam had a hint of panic in her voice.
“Well, you’re really only supposed to give gifts to your family. And like, traditionally they’re hand-made but people are busy, so most just buy gifts.” Boni said, dismissively.
Miriam’s brow furrowed. “Ok well I’m gonna go do that then! Audrey, you want to come with me tomorrow?”
Audrey still felt awkward without her scarf. Yesterday she could manage because she was busying herself helping with the tree. The tree was almost done, meaning she would have nothing to distract herself, and on top of that she had no gifts for Kawn and Miriam, who she kinda saw as her family.
“Yeah I’ll come...Wait are you going to make the broom ride really scary like last time?”
Miriam sighed, “No… as much as I want to.”
Kawn smiled and gave Miriam a thumbs up. Miriam rolled her eyes
Audrey nodded, thankful that Miriam wasn’t being mean for once. Dinner wasn’t very eventful, but it was still fun. Everyone was cracking jokes and poking fun at one another, and everyone seemed to be comfortable. It was as if the past had melted away and that.
Audrey and Miriam both wondered if this was what it was like to have an actual family.
The next morning, Audrey and Miriam headed off on the broom. Kawn had packed them breakfast and lunch. They were light meals, just as Boni warned. Kawn offered to make them bigger meals but Miriam and Audrey were determined to try to celebrate the holiday with the Bards.
“I’d go with you but I have to bake for tomorrow!” Kawn said apolegitcally.
“It’s alright, we kinda need this to be a surprise.”  Miriam said, dismissively..
The two headed off as Kawn waved goodbye, Audrey may or may not have been screaming the whole way up.
The girls got to Grandma Sapphy’s, and Miriam got to work on some potions. She insisted that Audrey not look for fear of her “ruining the surprise.”
Audrey decided to ask Sapphy for help making gifts.
Miriam wondered why Audrey had three gifts, and if she had asked, Audrey would have asked The Witch the same thing.
They returned just in time for dinner, placing their gifts in their own hiding spots. Dinner was light and quick to finish (Audrey had tried to steal many of the sweets) and everyone went to bed. Miriam was in a sleeping bag in the guest room with Kawn, and a thought creeped into her head. The two have been this close before so the thought shouldn’t have scared her. She carefully crawled out and got up and went over to Kawn. They were asleep but she had to be careful not to wake them, they were a light sleeper.
She carefully leaned in, and carefully gave him a kiss on the head. The bard moved a bit which caused Miriam to dart away. They didn’t move anymore than that but they had a sleepy smile on their face. A small, yet genuine smile. Miriam, now content, went back in her sleeping bag and went to sleep.
It was finally the day of the feast. The group of four were carrying the presents and sweets. Miriam and Audrey stood off to the side with the gifts as Kawn and boni set up their pastries with the other food. Everything smelled amazing and the band from Chaandesh was here, playing some music. Once Kawn finished up, They excitedly ran off to talk to them.
Boni turned to the two girls, bearing a large grin.
“Ok you two,” they said, crossing their arms “Time to gorge yourself, give gifts, and just enjoy yourselves!”
Miriam immediately held a gift box up to Boni, who froze and looked down at it.
“Wh-”
“Thanks for uh...letting us celebrate.” Miriam was quiet and looked away. She wasn’t used to giving gifts to others.
Boni gave the witch a soft smile and opened up the box and gasped, pulling out a red leaf from Delphi. It was preserved and put in a frame barely big enough for it.
“Aw sweet!!!” Boni pulled Miriam into a bear hug, and the Witch let out a squawk that caused Audrey to chuckle.
Boni turned to the bemused Ex-Hero “Oh, did you want a hug too?” They gave a big devilish grin.
“Ah no no! But uh yeah I got you a gift too!!!” Audrey said, panicking. She didn’t want to be crushed by the giant bard.
Boni was taken aback. She was kind of mean to Audrey, yet she was giving her a gift?
They carefully took the gift and opened it. It was a necklace with a glass crystal that contained a small red flower.
“I uh… had help making it. I didn’t make it, Miriam’s grandma did.” The adventurer said, sheepishly.
Boni gave her a soft smile before handing Audrey and Miriam their own gifts. “I loved these, thank you so much. I have to go get ready for tonight, you two have fun. Save me some food.” Boni walked off, humming softly as she lumbered off.
“That was uncharacteristically soft.” Miriam commented. Audrey gave a sheepish nod as she opened her gift. She let out a loud gasp as she pulled out a long, golden scarf. It was just like her old one, but it didn’t have that annoying and itchy tag on it!
She immediately put it on, with an especially extravagant form to her flair. Miriam rolled her eyes and opened her own gift. Her eyes flew open as she saw a set of vials, perfect for potion making. They were just the right size to hold ingredients and potions, and were in a nice little crate she could place.
“Woah…” It was all Miriam could manage as she carefully put her hand on one of the corks. She quietly put the box lid back on and placed the box where the group had set up their own little hang out spot.
` Audrey was busy twirling and striking poses, but snapped out of it when Miriam whistled at her. The adventurer looked over and realized that Miriam was holding a gift out at her.
“Look, Kawn would have wanted me to make you feel included, so i got you...this.”
Audrey looked at the gift before grabbing one of her gifts and walking over and handing her gift to Miriam and taking Miriam’s gift to her. Miriam stared at the gift dumbfounded as Audrey opened the gift box.
“Wh-”
“It’s a potion of power.”
“Wow. That’s low.” Audrey chuckled as she pulled the potion out and looked at it.
“I kinda feel bad because I wasn’t expecting you to give me a gift back, now I just look mean.”
“Nah it’s all good, i could actually use this for my job.” Audrey pocketed the potion and looked at Miriam. “Again your grandma helped with this, so… yeah.”
“Mmm I’m sure it’s gonna be embarrassing.” Miriam carefully opened the box and looked inside. “Wait what?” She pulled out a book with a leather face. She flipped through the pages and smiled a bit and shook her head.
“Wow. She REALLY wants me to get into potion making. I mean, not complaining. I got some new fancy viles so I guess i'm doing this. She looked at Audrey.
“I guess you’re not too bad.”
Suddenly Kawn walked up holding gifts of their own to give. They were humming to the tune of the music as they skipped up.
“Hellooo!” they sang out.
“Sup.” Audrey flashed a piece sign at the bard. Miriam rolled her eyes and looked at Kawn. “Hey Kawn. I got you a gift.”
Kawn looked surprised, before giving a big smile. “I got you two a gift as well!!” They handed their gifts over. “Go on! Open them! I really wanna see how you react!”
Audrey decided to go first, she opened the box and saw an axe. It’s handle was made out of wood that was found in langtree, and there was a design of a sky seal swirling up the handle brandished into it. The blade had a leather sheath for it, and it had Audrey’s name embroidered into it in gold.
“Everyone in Langtree pitched in to make this for you!” Kawn piped up. Audrey teared up and blushed and hugged the axe.
“Wow- Gosh I’m sorry! I-if you don’t like it I cou-”
“NOO I LOVE IT!!” Audrey cried as she hugged Kawn, almost crushing them.
“Ouukh! Aw… You’re welcome!!” Kawn hugged Audrey as she backed off and wiped her face with her sleeve and looked at the Axe.
Miriam looked nervously at her box. Ot was small, it wouldn’t be nearly as flashy as Audrey’s gift. She was jealous of that but she couldn’t see herself using an axe. Miriam carefully opened her box, and she saw a small hair clip. It was dark blue with a yellow, star shaped jewel. Next to it, was a necklace that matched the hair clip.
“I talked to Sapphy as well, and she helped me make these. I chose the shape and colors!”
Miriam carefully put the hairclip and necklace on.
“Thanks.” She could almost feel her face burning. “I, uh, got you something as well.”  She handed them her box and hid in her sweater.
Kawn opened the box and sang a giddy little note and pulled out a potted flower. It was yellow and shaped like a star.
“You also got me a star shaped gift!!” Kawn was ecstatic as they looked at the flower.
Audrey gulped as they looked at their gift. She doubted it would be as good as a plant, but she handed it over anyway. Kawn excitedly took it and put the plant down. The gift was small, but Kawn didn’t seem phased. They opened the gift and gasped before pulling out the pretty black feather from its protective box. It’s colors shifted to a deep turquoise in a certain light.
“It’s so pretty!!! Thank you!! Oh gosh these gifts are great!!”
Miriam smiled, they were always so easy to entertain. Audrey was still surprised by their simplicity but was busy hooking their axe to her sash.
“I’m gonna go eat til i explode” Audrey said, simply. “If you want me, I’ll be by the spicy stuff.”
“Ok!!” Kawn waved and turned towards Miriam.
Miriam noted the current song was a waltz. Sapphy had actually taught her how to waltz. Claimed it was important for her to learn for whatever reason.
Suddenly, an idea sprang in her head that terrified her.
“Miriam?” Kawn was wondering why Miram was suddenly blushing.
“Oh uh sorry. What’s up.”
“I wanted to know what you wanted to do!” Kawn presumed Miriam was just spaced out.
“I uh… How about we dance”
“Ok!”
“Together”
“Sounds fun!”
“I meant, like a waltz.”
“Su- wait what?”
Miriam grabbed the Bard’s hand and dragged him to a more secluded area where they could still hear the music.
The bard was still shell shocked as Miriam carefully took their hand carefully on hers, and carefully put their hand on her shoulder and her hand on their hip. She decide that she would be assuming the lead role, as she was the one who actually knew how to waltz.
“We’re just gonna do some steps, nothin fancy.”
It was Kawn’s turn to blush as they sheepishly nodded.
Miriam led them as they kinda shuffled about. Kawn was having fun but could tell Miriam was still nervous about this.
They decided to add a bit of their own pizzazz.
“I’m having fun, but ya know what would be greater?” Kawn smirked, Miriam raised an eyebrow, secretly terrified that Kawn didn’t like this.
Suddenly, kawn lifted Miriam's hand and then tried to spin, giggling as they went. Miriam fumbled as she wasn’t expecting this and accidentally knocked Kawn off balance.
“Oop-!” Kawn yelped, as they fell back. Miriam quickly caught Kawn and held Them up as they were leaning back.
“Woah-” Kawn gasped, “Nice catch.” Kawn blushed and sheepish;y smiled.
Miriam smirked and dropped Kawn,
“Ack!” Kawn flailed and sat up, giggling. “Aww c'mon, that was a good dance!”
“Then let’s have a second go.” Miriam said, holding out her hand. Probably the smoothest Miriam has or ever will be.
The two giggled and danced the night away, not really following the rules of waltz and just doing whatever came to their mind. Not caring what was happening or what the world might have thought.
It was the happiest Kawn had ever seen Miriam.
Suddenly, There was a loud and clear singing. The two looked up and saw the lights of the Nexus Point were at their brightest.
“It’s midnight.” Kawn gasped.
“We were out that long?”
“Time flies when you’re having fun, cmon!” Kawn took Miriam’s hand and ran for the tree, leading the confused Witch.
When they got to the town centre, they saw that the tree was lit up to match the Nexus lights. Boni was up in front of the tree singing to the entirety of Chismest, some sang along and some just watched. It wasn’t quite the same as the Lullaby, probably modified so that the Bard doesn’t just get chucked to the spirit world. The song was much longer, and some of the notes changed. Kawn quietly sang along, and rocked side to side. Miriam carefully laid her head on Kawn’s shoulder and hummed along with what she knew from Order March. She had a lot of fun the past few days, but she was looking forward to sleeping in her own bed after today. She let out a slight yawn as the song came to an end.
“Tired?”
Miriam sleepily nodded and rubbed her eyes. “Yeah, but i’ll be alright.”
“Nah let’s go to bed, we’ll fly home tomorrow.”
Miriam nodded and sleepily followed the bard back to Boni’s after they grabbed the gifts. Kawn put the gifts in a safe spot and tucked Miriam into bed.
“Wait isn’t this your bed?”
“Yeah but you’re flying tomorrow. Get some sleep.” Kawn gave Miriam a kiss on the cheek as they went and got ready for bed and slipped into the sleeping bag.
“...Kawn?”
“Hm?”
“...Can you sing the Wind Sonata?”
“I’d love to!”
The bard started to sing and the witch got comfy in bed. Today was a long day but she was happy she came. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep, she was very excited to show Grandma Sapphy her gifts.

Happy Cerealia!!!
Today is the Roman festival of Ceres. Above are couple photos from the ritual, and while I recover in my cozy bed I will share a story with you. This is from Ovid's Metamorphoses, Melville's translation. (TW: Abduction, Rape)
The Abduction of Proserpine
"The land of Sicily quakes as Typhoeus the Giant buried beneath the island heaves and even Rex Silentum (the king who rules the land of silence) shudders lest the ground in gaping seams should open and the day stream down and terrify the trembling Umpire. Tyrannus had left his dark domains to and fro, drawn in his chariot and sable steeds, inspected the foundations of the isle. His survey done, and no point found to fail, he put his fears aside; when, as he roamed, Erycina from her mountain throne, saw him and clasped her swift-winged son, and said: ‘Cupido, my child, my warrior, my power, take those sure shafts with which you conquer all, and shoot your speedy arrows to the heart of the great god to whom the last lot fell when the three realms were drawn. Your majesty subdues the gods of heaven and sea... Why should Tartara lag behind? Why not there too extend your mother's empire and your own? The third part of the world's at stake, while we in heaven (so long-suffering!) are despised - my power grows less, and less the power of Amor. Do you not see how Pallas and Diana, queen of the chase, have both deserted me? And Ceres' daughter, if we suffer it, will stay a virgin too - her hope's the same. So for the sake of our joint sovereignty, if that can touch your pride, unite in love that goddess and her uncle.’
So she spoke. Then Cupido guided by his mother, opened his quiver and of all his thousand arrows selected one, the sharpest and the surest, the arrow most obedient to the bow, and bent the pliant horn against his knee and shot the barbed shaft deep in Dis' heart. Not far from Henna's walls there is a lake, Pergus by name, its waters deep and still; it hears the music of the choiring swans as sweet as on Caystros' gliding stream. Woods crown the waters, ringing every side, their leaves like awnings barring the sun's beams. The boughs give cooling shade, the watered grass is gay with spangled flowers of every hue, and always it is spring. Here Proserpina was playing in a glade and picking flowers, pansies and lilies, with a child's delight, filling her basket and her lap to gather more than the other girls, when, in a trice, Dis saw her, loved her, carried her away - love leapt in such a hurry! Terrified, in tears, the goddess called her mother, called her comrades too, but oftenest her mother; and, as she'd torn the shoulder of her dress, the folds slipped down and out the flowers fell, and she, in innocent simplicity, grieved in her girlish heart for their loss too. Away the chariot sped; her captor urged each horse by name and shook the dark-dyed reins on mane and neck. On through deep lakes he drove, on through Palici's sulphurous pools that boil in reeking chasms, on past Bacchiadae, where settlers once from Corinthus' isthmus built between two harbours their great battlements.
A bay confined by narrow points of land lies between Arethusa Pisaea and Cyane. And there lived Cyane, the most renowned of all the Nymphae Sicelidae, who gave her pool its name. Out of her waters' midst she rose waist-high and recognised the goddess. ‘Stop, stop!’ she cried, ‘You cannot take this girl to wife against Queen Ceres' will! She ought to have been wooed, not whirled away. I too, if humble things may be compared with great, was loved; Anapus married me; but I was wooed and won, not, like this girl, frightened and forced.’ She held out her arms outstretched to bar his way. But Saturnius restrained his wrath no longer. Urging on his steeds, his terrible steeds, and brandishing aloft his royal sceptre in his strong right arm, he hurled it to the bottom of the pool. The smitten earth opened a way to Hell and down the deep abyss the chariot plunged. But Cyane, heartbroken at the rape of Proserpine and at her pool's outrage, in silence carried in her heart a wound beyond consoling, and in endless tears she wasted away. Into the pool - her pool and she but now its deity - she spread dissolved.
Ceres Searches for Proserpina
Ceres meanwhile in terror sought her child vainly in every land, o'er every sea. Never Aurora (the Dawn) rising with dewy hair, nor ever Hesperus (the Evening Star) saw her at rest. She lit pine-torches, one in either hand, at Aetna's fires, and through the frosty dark bore them unsleeping. When the friendly day had dimmed the stars, she sought her daughter still from sunrise until sunset hour by hour...
Through what far lands and seas the goddess roved were long to tell; the whole world failed her search. She turned again to Sicania and there, in wanderings that led her everywhere, she too reached Cyane; who would have told all, had she not been changed. She longed to tell but had no mouth, no tongue, nor any means of speaking. Even so she gave a clue, clear beyond doubt, and floating on her pool she showed the well-known sash which Persephone had chanced to drop there in the sacred spring.
How well the goddess knew it! Then at last she seemed to understand her child was stolen, and tore her ruffed hair and beat her breast. Where the girl was she knew not, but reproached the whole wide world - ungrateful, not deserving her gift of grain - and Trinacria in chief where she had found the traces of her loss. So there with angry hands she broke the ploughs that turned the soil and sent to death alike the farmer and his labouring ox, and bade the fields betray their trust, and spoilt the seeds...
Then that fair Nymphe Alpheias rose from her pool and brushed back from he brow her dripping hair, and said : ‘O thou, divine Mother, who through the world hast sought thy child... The land is innocent; against its will it opened for that rape. While beneath the earth I glided in my Stygian stream, I saw, myself with my own eyes, your Proserpina. Her looks were sad, and fear still in her eyes; and yet a queen, and yet of that dark land Empress, and yet with power and majesty the consort of the Tyrannus Infernus (Sovereign lord of Hell).’ The mother heard in horror, thunderstruck it seemed and turned to stone.
The Return of Proserpina
Then as her shock so great gave way to grief as great, she soared borne in her chariot, to the sky's bright realms and stood, with clouded face and hair let loose, indignant before Jove and said: ‘I come to plead for my own flesh and blood, yours too; and if the mother finds no favour, let at least the daughter move her father's heart; love her not less because I gave her birth. Behold the daughter I have sought so long is found, if found is surer loss, or if but to know where she is finding her. Her theft I'll bear if he'll but bring her back; a thief, a kidnapper's no proper husband for child of yours, even if she's mine no more.’
And Juppiter replied: ‘The child is yours and mine, our common care and love, If we allow things proper names, here is no harm, no crime, but love and passion. Such a son-in-law, if you, Ma'am, but consent, will not disgrace us. To be Jove's brother, what a splendid thing! - if that were all! What then, when that's not all, when he yields place to me only because the lots so fell? But if your heart's so set to part them, Proserpina shall reach the sky again on one condition, that in Hell her lips have touched no food; such is the rule forestablished by the three Parcae.’
So Jove replied; but Ceres was resolved to win her daughter back. Not so fate permitted, for the girl had broken her fast and wandering, childlike, through the orchard trees from a low branch had picked a pomegranate and peeled the yellow rind and found the seeds and nibbled seven. The only one who saw was Orphne's son, Ascalaphus, whom she, no the least famous of the Nymphae Avernales, bore once to Acheron in her dusky bower. He saw and told, in spite, and by his tale stole her return away. The Queen of Hell (Regina Erebi) groaned in distress and changed the tale-bearer into a bird. She threw into his face water from Phlegethon, and lo! a beak and feathers and enormous eyes! Reshaped, he wears great tawny wings, his head swells huge... a loathsome bird, ill omen for mankind, a skulking screech-owl, sorrow's harbinger.
That tell-tale tongue of his no doubt deserved the punishment. But the Acheloides, why should it be that they have feathers now and feet of birds, though still a girl's fair face, the sweet-voiced Sirenes? Was it not because, when Proserpine was picking those spring flowers, they were her comrades there, and, when in vain they'd sought for her through all the lands, they prayed for wings to carry them across the waves, so that the seas should know their search, and found the gods gracious, and then suddenly saw golden plumage clothing all their limbs? Yet to reserve that dower of glorious song, their melodies' enchantment, they retained their fair girls' features and their human voice. Then Juppiter, to hold the balance fair between his brother and his sister in her grief, portioned the rolling years in equal parts. Now Proserpine, of two empires alike great deity, spends with her mother half the year's twelve months and with her husband half. Straightway her heart and features are transformed; that face which even Dis must have found unhappy beams with joy, as when the sun, long lost and hidden in the clouds and rain, rides forth in triumph from the clouds again. So Ceres had regained her Proserpine."

The Picnic
Tumblr media
Okay I can’t draw for beans, but I can at least write mediocre xp. A small gift to @cidbirb and our adorable ship Zeva below~
The woods were filled with the song of birds, the soft breeze through the trees, and even the chattering of squirrels; all the expected noises to surround a person in nature. Well, except for one other soft another soft song joining that of the birds, this one coming from a young woman kneeling on a blanket in one of the many small clearings of the woods outside of Vesuvia.
“Softly the wind blows, memories to me~
Of embers and starlight and songs from the sea~”
Eva tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she methodically set the little containers from her basket about the blanket, arranging and rearranging the spread till it looked as inviting as she could make it. Thankfully a rather large rock provided a nice flat surface to set everything on, a makeshift low table for the date.
“ Far gone those days of old~
but love shall stay, or so I am told~- Okay then, I think that should just about do it. What do you think?” the young woman looked over at a large mound of fur and plants, the large tusked feline yawning in response. “Oh thank you for the vote of confidence” Eva rolled her eyes with a chuckle, humming more of her song as she pulled out the plates and utensil rolls.
Persephatta stretched and reached out her claws, digging into the earth, but froze when the scent of company hit her nose. Rather familiar company at that, that had her chuffing and letting out her small call as she went to meet their guests. The cadrith purred as a strong tanned hand caressed gently over her head, and slid down her back. Once the hand was gone, her attention was on the behemoth that had accompanied the human into the woods.
“Ah, Zack, you and Yasha are early!” Eva had a feeling her date for the lunch was what lifted her cadrith’s mood, as did his familiar, who was now chuffing back as Persephatta rubbed herself under the beast’s chin.
“Yasha followed your scent to find this place. Sorry if it is ahead of time,” The tall man said with a soft smile as he walked over to Eva, having to bend down due to their height difference to plant a gentle and chaste kiss on her cheek.
“O-Oh no no, don’t worry i-in fact I am glad you did” Eva’s cheeks pinked at the feel of his warm lips on her face, “I mean, just finished setting up so y-ya know” Awe man, it was always that smile on that freckled face and soft voice that made her this flustered. “H-here we are” she opened up her hands in a tada fashion to the picnic spread.
“Hn,” Zack nodded with a soft smile as he sat down on one of the pillows offered and looked at the containers with some curiosity, “looks rather nice.”
Meanwhile the familiars were gently batting at each other in play, well more Eva’s attempting to initiate play and Zack’s mildly entertaining the thought.
“Teehee, thanks” Eva’s face beamed with joy, “We have a salad, some diced fruit and brown bread honey spread...” Eva pointed to the different containers of the spread, “And then we have some barbecue jackfruit stuffed pitas.”
“Jackfruit” It was not much of a question but more of a tone of realization and appreciation.
“W-well you are a vegetarian, so I wanted to make sure it would be something we could both enjoy” the redhead nibbled on her bottom lip.
“It is wonderful,” The cyan eyed man smiled at her, “that is very considerate of you” He took his plate and started putting the various things Eva has laid out on his place, not only to show appreciation but also his own appetite that he had held off sating that morning  for this occasion.
“And as for dessert,” the redhead pulled out a pie pan, but it was no pie in there, “Strawberry jam cheesecake”
Zack paused, his mouth full of the bbq pita as he eyed the dessert that seemed to be calling his name as she displayed it. “You,” he said with a growing smile after savoring his bite, “spoil me Eva. Keep feeding me like this and I am going to gain weight.”
“T-That wouldn’t be horrible would it?” Eva asked as she helped herself to some of the salad and fruit, “I bet you would still look handsome. M-maybe even more so,” she added with a small nervous chuckle.
“You think so?” He asked with a raised brow, grabbing another one of the pita’s but leaning across the table to give it to her, “Don’t just eat salad, have something more filling.” he said with a stern, yet caring tone, knowing how she tended to be hypocritical about how much food to eat.
“Oh, o-okay,” She smiled, not arguing for once with his request that she eat. Truly eat, not just pick at things enough to get a taste.
Time went by, with them eating and talking. Conversation between portions varied from about Asra and the common things he would say to the both of them, some of the changes that Zack had made to his carvings to add extra protection to the carriers, and Eva’s own continued training in the various arts of divination.
“I actually made you something…” Zack pulled a little wooden carving on a cord from his pocket, handing it to her rather quickly. And.. was that some pink on his cheeks. “For… me?” Eva wasn’t expecting such a sweet gesture. Well, she wasn’t surprised Zack would do such a thing, but it was more she didn’t expect him for this date to have something ready for her so soon. Looking down at the little carving in her hands she smiles, “It’s a badger...and there are little symbols…” her smile grew as her hands gently caressed the craftsmanship. It looked like either it was two different woods used, or perhaps it was the sanding and polishing of the wood that gave such different tones for the white and black parts of the creature.
“It’s to protect you.” Zack stated, his eyes going back and forth  from her face to the gift, “Do you.. Do you like it?”
“Oh Zack, I adore it,” the redhead beamed, “can you help me put it on? Please?” she handed it back to him before turning around, pulling her hair to the side so it wouldn’t be in the way.
He smiled and scooted on his knees to be behind her to put the necklace around her and tie a secure knot. “
“I promise, I will never take it off,” Eva hummed as her hand slid up her chest, rubbing the smooth polished wood.
“It was made to protect you, so I would hope not,” Zack said softly, his arms wrapping tightly around her middle and pulling her close, “I don’t want anything to happen to you.” he mumbled against her skin, his head in the crook of her neck.
“Z-Zack…” Eva said his name softly, as if it were a special, sacred word, reaching her hand back to caress his head. Shifting her body in his arms, once he loosened enough at least to let her, she wrapped her arms around his middle and hugged him back, “You mean a lot to me too…” She dared to confess. His tanned face slid against her neck and cheek till his forehead was pressed against hers, looking her in the eyes with such a tender expression; such worry, yet hope, and happiness, and fear: these were all things that she could see deep in those rare, magical eyes.
Cupping his cheek in her hand, Eva pressed her lips to his nose, right on the freckles and then proceeded to give soft kisses to his freckle bridge, before planting the last one on his forehead.
When she drew back, she couldn’t help but smile and hold back a chuckle at the adorable shocked and awe expression her dearest to her had on his face. “I f-feel a bit bad though,” she hummed bashfully, “You got me this and I don't have a gift for you. Well, other than maybe another slice of that cheesecake?”
The humor in her words and the wink she gave seemed to break Zack out of his stupor, a smile coming across his pinked face, and his own chuckle rumbling in his chest, “I wouldn’t mind that.”
Once they were full on food and words, the two found themselves relaxing against one of the strong pines of the forest. Eva’s back resting against the trunk, with Zack’s head in her lap as she hummed and ran her hands through his hair. Their familiars lay off in their own nap, occasionally giving a small grooming session to the top of the other’s head and ears.
“I don’t think I have heard that song...’ Zack said, his voice drifting with is subconscious, not bothering to open his eyes as he settled comfortably under her touch.
“Well, I am writing it actually,” the redhead looked down at the handsome man who seemed to be drifting off to sleep, “I have been looking into song incantation practices, so been fiddling with that a bit.”
“And what is it for?” One eye did peek open a little, glancing up at her with a calm and tired smile, a hand reaching up to play with one of her locks of hair that curtained around him as she bent down.
“Well,” Eva nibbled on her bottom lip, “I sort of was thinking of a love song. One that helps protect a soul mate. From what I looked into finding your soulmate would be an extremely difficult spell. B-But maybe…maybe you can at least send them some warmth and protection. And make them feel that you are out there, thinking of them.”
“Hnnn” Zack let out in understanding and approval, “Perhaps I can help you with that... if you like.” He yawned and rolled himself to his side, facing into her stomach as he nestled in and made himself comfortable with her.
“I’d like that.” Eva smiled down at him, pressing her fingers to her puckered lips to gently transfer a kiss to his cheek, before resuming her humming and petting his head, her own eyes slowly closing as she felt more at peace in that moment, than any other she could ever recall.
Besides, I don’t need to find my soul mate…I already feel that has been found
End?

children are meant to be cradled, not placed in wars
a bnha/reader fic
chapter one
YN was normal.
She lived in a neighbourhood that had good families and minimal crime. She was popular at school, and her best friend was the quiet, weird kid stereotype. Some part of YN wondered why it was all monotone, but then her friend would pull her along and they would commit some minor crime like regular teenagers.
One day, after hopping over fences into a house that YN and her friend had deemed their own but definitely hadn’t bought, said friend was staring at YN.
The friend, Soma Quinn, wasn’t normal. She always wore the same clothes (a pair of worn jeans, a Bethesda Dark Brotherhood jacket, grey converse, and a black tank top), and had to repeat herself to get her points across. She had only one ear, as when she was seven, she played with scissors too much and sheared it off. She kept to herself and looked constantly like she wanted to fight someone. But Soma was sweet and would babble for hours about her games and stories.
Today, though, something was off.
Soma had a slight staring problem. She would retract into her head like a turtle, it’s shell and stare into nothing. But, if she was staring at something in particular, like YN, then that was exactly what she was thinking of.
“What’s up? Thinkin’ about, uhh,” YN dropped her voice. “Murder?”
“Kidnapping, actually.”
“Ooh, fancy. Who?”
“You.” Soma batted her eyes.
“Oh?” YN smirked. “You should take me out to dinner first.” “What do you call this?”
“Oof, fair.” YN blinked. “But seriously. What’s up?”
“I’ve been having dreams again.” Soma frowned. “Nightmares.”
YN furrowed her brow, standing up. “What is it this time?”
“You know that thing where your ear rings out of nowhere and you wonder if you’ve got tinnitus or something?” Soma began biting her lip, the previous abrasions on the bottom lip not even having scabbed over yet.
“Yeah?”
“It starts out like that. Then I see this big ass comet. And then, like, it’s Fallout Four, without any green mods. And there’s no Sole Survivor.”
YN was silent. Soma had nightmares, ones that she took medicine for, but they would always come true. They varied; from YN’s father getting into a car accident to one of their classmates trying to shoot up the school. Every time Soma called out her dreams, actions would be taken, and disaster would be avoided. And they were always right.
“What can we do, Som?”
“Gay panic, probably.” Soma put her head on her fist. “We can’t stop a comet, but…”
YN stopped pacing. “But, what?”
Soma said nothing but continued staring at YN. The bigger youth began pacing again, and her eyes started tearing up.
“Oh my god. I don’t want to die. What about Mom and Dad? And...and we didn’t get to grow up! I wanted to go to the WTF Championships after my internship! You wanted to work at Bethesda! God! What the fuck!”
“There’s a hack we can use. But just us.”
“But what about-”
“Everyone else thought I was a freak. Even my own parents. But you don’t. Or if you do, then you don’t care. And honestly, that’s even better. I would kill for you, and I would die for you.” Soma glanced up at YN, and YN felt a chill go down her spine. There was a dark look in Soma’s eyes that was dangerous, like something deep and primal that neither of them had seen before had been untapped.
“I can’t let you die.”
Before YN could say anything more, a blue light lit up the floor. At first, it was just a circular pattern with a script that YN didn’t recognise, but then it filled out until lit looked like a cyan liquid (definitely not water; it wouldn’t be this bright) that splashed around and landed on YN’s bare arms. The outside of it began to collapse, with splintered wood and asbestos crumbling into dust and nothingness. YN started to pant, trying to grasp the situation.
“What the hell? Som, Som, what-”
“I am so sorry, YN/N.” Soma’s dark look became guilty and sad. “You and I can live free, now.”
“Wait-!”
And then, YN fell.
Falling to her death was nothing like what YN expected.
In all the movies and books and shows, it took a long time, with inner dialogue playing and no actual worry. But this was completely different. YN couldn’t think, and her throat felt like it had been sucker punched. The wind rushed past her, and she couldn’t breathe, and oh god, she was going to die-
But then, the smell of pine trees and sweat and a swath of white and black took over her senses.
Something, someone, had grabbed her bridal style, seven hundred feet in the air.
“I’ve got you! Don’t panic!”
The voice was loud and almost squeaky, but male. He seemed like a teenager, but no teenager could jump as high as YN was. She shook, her mind fuzzy and boggled. There was a controlled descent now, and YN could breathe again. When he landed, he gently set her down on her feet, and she fell to her knees.
“Oh! Are you ok? Are you injured?”
His voice was drowned out by the buzzing in her ears, and a distant humming. She could’ve sworn that it was familiar before it abruptly stopped.
“-s hurt, and she won’t respond, and oh gosh! What if she’s injured? How do I get her attention? Eraserhead hasn’t shown us emergency procedure yet, and what if she’s in shock? Of course, she’s in shock, you idiot!” The boy, who too had kneeled, was non-stop mumbling to himself. YN didn’t look up, but she listened.
“She hasn’t suffocated, I don’t think...ah! What would All Might do? Should I get Thirteen? He’ll know what to do! He is a pro-hero, after all! But she shouldn’t be left on her own...should I ask Ochako? I probably shouldn’t yell, she might have a headache from that fall. And I didn’t bring my phone! Ah!”
YN glanced up, and she had her breath taken away for the second time that day.
The boy before her (he was definitely a boy, she conceded) had huge green eyes and a smattering of freckles in perfect twin diamonds, but what astounded her the most was the mop of green hair. It looked perfectly natural, and even a little bit ungroomed, and it was increasingly surreal the more she looked at him. He was ridiculously pretty and seemed like he had stepped out of a movie.
“Excuse me,” She croaked. Her throat hurt, but she was confused above all.
“Ah!” The boy jumped again, striking a pose that seemed like an exaggerated surprise. “You can talk!”
“Where am I?” The more she glanced around, the less familiar it was, and the boy got out of the pose.
“You’re in Mustafu, ma’am.” He kneeled again. “Are you feeling alright?” He stuttered a bit on the ‘alright’, but seemed determined.
“For, uh,” YN glanced up, but the sinkhole was gone. “For falling, I think so.”
“Can you walk?” He held out a hand, and YN grabbed it. It had scars littered all over it, but it seemed quite soft.
She tested her weight and found that she was alright, for the most part. She nodded.
“I need to take you to some pro-heroes, so they can take care of you. Okay?” He tilted her head when she let out an undignified snort.
“Heroes?”
“Yeah,” He looked confused. “You know, like Thirteen, and Present Mic, and All…” He trailed off when YN’s brow furrowed further.
“What?”
“Oh no!” He looked shocked and guilty. “Maybe you hit your head and forgot!”
“Forgot-no, I didn’t forget-”
“Come on! We need to get you checked!”
He ushered her towards two figures and an ambulance, one of which looked like an over-inflated astronaut. Only then did YN realise that there was a huge crater in the ground, stemming from where the sinkhole was situated above. She blinked, perhaps stupidly, before pointing to it.
“Did I...do that?”
The boy glanced over and grinned sheepishly. “No, haha...that was me.”
YN paled. “You?”
“Yeah. It’s kind of a side effect of my quirk. I can’t control it too well. I’m getting better though!” He grinned cheerily, and YN paled.
“What?” She whimpered, but the boy didn’t hear her. He took her to the astronaut and a blonde man.
“Thirteen! This is the girl that fell! I think she has some memory problems…”
“Good job, Midoriya.” The astronaut turned to YN and took her spare hand. “Please, come with me. We’re gonna give you a check-up.”
YN choked on her words, glancing between the astronaut and the boy Midoriya, and then to the blonde man with the gravity-defying peaked hair and yellow sunglasses that wouldn’t stop grinning. The astronaut gently guided her to an older woman, letting the teen sputter the entire time.
“This is Recovery Girl,” He gestured. “She can take care of you, and see if you have any head injuries.”
He handed her over, and YN stared at the woman. She was most definitely not a girl and reminded her of her grandmother, but she looked matronly and had a pink and purple visor.
“Hello. Come, sit, sit!” She patted at the edge of the ambulance, and YN did as she was told. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a massive medical needle and felt her heart leap up to her throat. Recovery Girl followed her line of sight and laughed.
“Don’t worry! That’s my cane! It matches my line of work, obviously.” She smiled, and YN felt a little less apprehensive.
“What?” YN murmured, biting her lip.
“Does anything hurt, my dear?” Recovery Girl began putting pressure on YN’s limbs, seeing if there was pain. “It doesn’t look like anything is broken, but it is a precaution to check.”
“My head…” YN felt like her skull was splitting from her fresh migraine. “It hurts.”
“Ah!” Recovery Girl leapt up, and YN had to admit, she was surprisingly spry and youthful. She went behind YN and gently placed her palms on her cranium. There was a feather-light touch, and the pain seeped away. Inexplicable sleepiness came over YN, and she felt her eyes begin to drop.
Her head nodded forward, and she fell asleep.

February 29, 3:35 PM
Tritan, Paradise [Central]
It was a cold and raining, yet sunny day.
The week before that Monday, a great catastrophe/event happened that changed many lives of the people that lived in paradise.
The 8 guardians, 4 of which defeated the almighty centipede of horror that one day.
The paradise that Paradise was was brought back to its green and pine tree luster, the giant tower being taken care of by the three spirits of the Tree.
The shape stepped onto his balcony, he was one of the guardians that stopped this territorial take-over. Shattering many times but to the cost of the inner peace of Paradise once again he did so; it was his job after all as a guardian.
The sun was still high in the sky when he went out, but the clouds quickly swooped in. The light sprinkle that was forecasted trickled onto his Cyan skin and his new genetic hair highlights.
A feeling of happiness was upon him at the time, he very much so enjoyed the weather of the cold and cloudy days. Those days reminded him of the Grey Flower that was his best friend. But it was that person that made him realize how fucked up the world can be some times.
His friend was lost to an action that the Cyan shape committed. He went against one of the most important rules of the Paradise Society;
“do not go outside of the border without the permission and accompanying of a guard or guardian.”
As he thought of the line more and more, he went into his room and unfolded a long grey cloth, one of the few last things that he had of the Grey Flower.
He also reached for his neck; where a handmade, silver necklace laid. The cyan shape had barely taken it off after that day of horror and dread from years ago.
Stepping back onto the balcony, the rains had already started to pour, but the square didn’t mind. After all, the rains barely had any people out and about in the large city. Making rainy days the calmest of days.
He sighed and looked down gloomily at the long, grey scarf.

“I didn’t mean to kill you the first time...
I didn’t want to kill you the second.”
Square Bleu said with a tears welling in his eyes.

CHAPTER 02: Venture of Violent Colours
Smoke was floating away from an open window in a large brick building and the red heat coming from a cigarette glowed with embers being flicked away. E’thrus stood within the window laying over the edge, looking up at the clouded black sky with crimson eyes. The moons reflected upon his sleek black hair along with the two white stripes in it. He closed his eyes for only a moment but doing so brought visions of him surrounded by bodies, blood dripping from his claws and teeth. Shells were exploding in front of him, and gunfire was whizzing past his ears. Alone on the battlefield he turned around to retreat but was met with the presence of a Zonela spaceship, on fire, careening towards him. The sky was black, gray, and red. Snow and ash were one in the same. E’thrus started sprinting as fast as he could, but no matter how much he strafed, any time he looked behind him, it was as if the ship were following him. He ran through firefights of both oppositions taking a few rounds to the shoulders, arms, and abdomen. E’thrus turned around one last time before everything went dark.
“E’thrus, what are you doing?” A soft pleasant voice came from behind him asked.
He woke from his trance, put the cigarette out on the brick ledge and looked back speaking with his voice of low pitch, “Hey there, sunshine!”
“That was the last one… Gonna have to stop at a gas station tomorrow morning to buy more.” Meliza commented. “Are you having those visions again?”
He looked down at his cigarette and then back out the window. He strutted over into the bathroom, removing his shirt along the way. Stepping in front of the mirror, he started examining his torso. Beneath the pale-yellow fur, there were dozens of scars from bullets, shrapnel, burns, bitemarks and claw scratches.
“How does anyone live through that?” He asked.
Meliza stepped into the frame of the mirror and rested her head on his shoulder. “Signs of a man who won Mortem’s favor.” She smiled.
He folded his arms. “I find him and the devil playing some sick joke on my behalf to be more likely. There may be an armistice, but Boaka’s leaders are too trigger happy to let that last for long. Then, more bloodshed.”
“Such a pessimist.” She shrugged.
“Even in times of hardship, you’re just as bubbly.” He said starting to put his shirt back on before Meliza stopped him.
“No, no. That wont be necessary.” She said and kissed him. Meliza was slightly taller, so, E’thrus had to raise his chin up a bit. They brushed each other’s hair aside and both could feel their heartbeats rising.

Orange liquid began to trickle out of thin air before bursting into a portal. Hughes and Chairman stepped onto to luscious and uncanny bright purple grass. Both were armed to the teeth with Epsilonia issued heavy rifles and sidearms. Feral deer-like fauna with the heads of bird skulls scurried away at the sight of them and something akin to normal avian, flew away, making caws that sounded as if they were distorted with radio static.
“Two hours.” Chairman stated.
Hughes checked his rifle. “Hour and thirty minutes. I don’t wanna cut it that close again.”
“Understood. The field of black vile tulips should be three kilometers west from our current entry point.”
Hughes smiled and nodded. “Perfect. Let’s go.”
The two started marching across the field, keeping a keen eye on their surroundings. It was daytime in the Anomaly, although one could not tell by the colour of the sky, as it wasn’t just one shade of blue, orange, or black, but an arrangement of bright neon colours fixed together like stained glass. There were clouds this time. However, they took the shape of perfectly rounded spheres that continuously rained upwards into the colourful sky. Past a forest of cyan pine trees growing cube shaped fruit lay what they came here for, a vast field of tulips of numbering colours were growing just above the grass.
“Stay here.” Hughes ordered Chairman.
He then pulled out a burlap and found himself crouched down in the flowers scanning for Black Vile Tulips to pluck.
Chairman amazed by this wondrously horrific world was gazing at his surroundings. Only two hours maximum to explore this place, but they knew there was much more to be seen. Pink mountain ranges on the horizon spiraled like drills. The cyan forest behind Chairman extended to unknown lengths. Hughes had found six flowers and was looking for more, when he heard the faint sound of footsteps crushing grass.
Kchck. Chairman raised his rifle. “Uh, Hughes?!” He said frantically.
Hughes stood up and looked back at Chairman pointing his gun at a bipedal rabbit, holding a basket in its hand full of Black Vile Tulips and some fruit from the cyan pines. He got closer and was able to make out more of its details. It was wearing a frilly pink blouse and yellow skirt. A yellow bowtie adorned its neck, and it wore bright ruby red shoes.
“What do I do?!” Chairman asked.
Hughes waved his hand at it. It looked to him, smiled with sharp, yellowy corroded teeth, and waved back.
“Hughes!” Chairman yelled.
The rabbit turned its attention towards Chairman again and began giggling like a little girl.
Chairman shook his head, pulled his trigger, and blew a hole through its chest, knocking it over on its back and sending its basket full of flowers and fruit into the air.
“Chairman!” Hughes yelled and ran over to him.
He lowered his rifle. “Sir! What was that?!”
Hughes stomped over to him and backhanded him across the cheek. “Do NOT fire unless ordered to.”
He then raised his rifle and crept towards the rabbit. After a few steps he signaled Chairman to come forward. He did so and eventually both ended up standing next to the thing. Hughes pulled out a knife.
“What are you doing?” Chairman asked.
Hughes started prodding the knife inside the hole in its chest. “Rough autopsy. This is the first non-feral species we’ve encountered. Got to make this count. How much time do we have?”
Chairman checked his watch. “Twenty-three minutes remain.”
“It was carrying a basket of Black Vile Tulips. Here.” Hughes said handing him the burlap. “It must’ve scavenged them before we got here. She won’t be needing them anymore though.”
He took it and started collecting the flowers while Hughes continued his examination. Details he didn’t notice from before were coming left and right. Its eyes were green, with red beyond the iris and the pupils were white and shaped like diamonds. Its hands had long bony claws protruding out of its fingertips. It had eyes on its palms and its intestines were full of abnormalities. Hughes took the knife and began cutting off its jaw to examine its teeth more thoroughly.
“Done.” Chairman said holding up the bag of flowers.
The rabbit then quickly sprung out from under Hughes and snatched the bag out of Chairman’s hand. Its jaw’s tendons sprouted out like spider legs and scampered back into place on its head while the hole Chairman shot through it began to seal up along with the cloth of her pink blouse.
The two quickly aimed their rifles at it, but then a long, prehensile tongue came out of its mouth and swiped them away then pounced onto Chairman and speaking to him in the same tone as her giggle from before.
“Trespassing, burglary, and ‘attempted murder’? My, my, what shall your punishment be?” She said while drooling all over his face.
***
Despite it being well below freezing outside, E’thrus and Meliza were quite comfortable and warm, being passionately embraced in each other’s arms. The two saw this as an ample opportunity as the winds howling outside could mask their ruckus so as to not get another complaint from their neighboring tenants. E’thrus was quite feral about everything he did, especially on nights like these but could always rely on Meliza to pull him out of a trance if need be. However, tonight was the night for both of them to get lost within one another. She always wanted a child, and her body was perfectly healthy, but it seemed as though whatever had happened to E’thrus in his youth that gave him his monstrous attributes resulted in him becoming sterile. At least, that was their theory, as many, many attempts to bear a child were met with negative results.
E’thrus’ thoughts were interrupted by Meliza’s hands gently wrapping themselves around the back of his neck and combing through his hair.
“Don’t think about the past.” She whispered into his ear. “Focus on me for now.”
Her green eyes reflected the red glow coming from E’thrus’ and became widened when he placed his claws beside her, under her arms and lifted himself up, causing the bedsheets they were under to slip down off his scarred back.
“I love you, Meliza.” He smiled.
“Me too honey, now quit stalling.” She remarked as their tails intertwined.

Tumblr media
A majority of these are my first attempts at drawing with only digital (no sketches with pencils and paper). The only one that breaks this rule is the Among Us drawing. Close-ups under the cut.
Tumblr media
First attempt at pure digital art. I honestly had no idea what I was doing, so I just slapped some colors together and hoped it didn't look painful.
Tumblr media
Just a normal drawing of some gay Among Us crew members. This was originally going to be for a Secret Santa, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you're wondering who Summer is, au's Winter's older sibling! You can find out more about aur here! (I don't know how to draw wheel chairs... or any chairs, for that matter... I'll work on improving that!)
Tumblr media
First designs for pure inhuman humanoid creatures. Very gay, very enby, and very neurodivergent! (The guard is now called Bonnie, and it's just an security guard at an over-glorified office building, which cyan-haired works at.)
Tumblr media
A shapeshifter!! I'm really proud of this purely-digital drawing, and I love how it turned out!!! I tried making their blush a purplish color, so it'd look nonhuman, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get that right...
Tumblr media
A test-design for Oliv. It's probably going to be different in the future (since I want more Entrapta vibes in there), but this is what I currently have!

Warning
Tumblr media
The little human moved between tall, snow-covered pine trees.  He walked among them, shivering in the cold.  He heard a soft shifting in the snow behind him and paused to glance over his shoulder.  Nothing.  He continued only to hear the sound again.  Frisk stopped and looked around.  He noticed a few tiny holes in the snow behind him.  He narrowed his eyes.  "Flowey," he said.
"Hee hee hee . . ."  The flower’s soft laughter echoed between the trees.
Frisk sighed, glancing around as he tried to locate him.  "I'm not afraid of you anymore."
"Oh, that's okay," said Flowey from the shadows between trees.  "I like it better that way."
"Where are you?" asked the child.
"Why should I tell you?  You tried to kill me last time."
"I was upset after what you said about Toriel," said Frisk.  "That was really mean.  I . . . liked her.  I didn’t mean to hurt her.  You shouldn’t have said what you did."
"Are you always going to hold that against me?"
Frisk scowled.  "Get out here!" he yelled.
Flowey pushed up through the snow in front of him.  "Whoa!  Fine!"  He smiled at the human, tilting his head to the left.  "I see you've figured out you can save.  That's pretty interesting."
Frisk stared.  "How do you know about that?"
Flowey glanced off nervously.  "I was . . . watching, remember?"
"I know, but I thought it was kind of like time travel."
Flowey laughed.  "Yeah, it is!  Kind of . . ."
           "Then how do you remember?"
Flowey paused.  "I'm . . . special.  I mean . . . how many flowers have you met that can talk, hm?"
           "None."
           The flower grinned.  "Exactly."
"Why are you still following me?  I thought I lost you after leaving the Ruins."
"Oh?  Hee hee, I was just curious about you.  Nothing wrong with that, right?" Flowey said.  "You know . . . I know a lot about the underground.  I could help you leave if you want."
Frisk scowled and crossed his arms.  "I don't need your help.  I'd rather have Sans help me."
Flowey's black eyes widened in alarm.  "Sans?!"  He scowled.  "What would you trust him for?  Do you know him?  At all?"  Flowey didn’t give the child time to respond.  "No, you don't.  Trust me . . . that jerk can't be trusted.  He's a lazy, trash heap that deceives people!"
Frisk shook his head.  "I don't believe you."
Flowey growled.  "Look, human.  If you want to get anywhere, listen to this warning.”  The flower shifted to a serious, slightly threatening tone of voice.  “Don't . . . let him . . . find out anything about you.  He will remember it, and he won't forget.  He's dangerous.  Stay away from him."
Frisk shrugged.  "What could I tell him that would upset him?  That I'm human?  He knows that already."
Flowey stared.  "What?  Are you stupid?  You killed her . . . Toriel.  If you let him find out . . . your world will end."
           "My whole world?"
"Yes!  Do not trust that skeleton!  Stay far away from him!"  Flowey paused to smile then added something else with a happier tone of voice.  "His brother however . . . he's fine.  I've had a lot of fun playing jokes on him in the past."  Flowey laughed to himself.  "Oh, and he even started a Flowey Fan Club.  You should join!"
Frisk sighed.  "Don't tell me what to do, Flowey.  I'll make friends with Sans if I want.  Just go away, leave me alone, and stop following me."
Flowey frowned, giving the child the most pitiful look he could manage.  "Aw . . . can't we be friends?"
           Frisk glared back.  “No.”
Flowey growled.  "Okay, don't say I didn't warn you."  The Golden Flower burrowed, disappearing in the snow.
Frisk continued on until he found Papyrus again.  He solved a few more puzzles and came across other dog creatures, who were part of the Royal Guard Papyrus had mentioned.  All were on the lookout for humans, but Frisk managed to get passed them by either petting them, playing a game of fetch, or running for his life.  They were similar to typical dogs on the surface.  The only difference being that they were humanoid, had weapons and armor, and could talk.  Most just wanted some love and attention.  They were probably lonely after spending long lengths of time out in the snow looking for humans by themselves.  Frisk was quickly realizing that a lot of the monsters in the underground were lonely or simply . . . hopeless.
As Frisk followed signs toward a small town, he wondered if there was a way to free them.  He wanted to know more about the monsters.  Was there a way to get them out of here?  Did anyone besides Asgore have a plan?  Was anyone else trying?  Frisk’s line of thought left when he neared a long, narrow wooden bridge over a gap in the plateau.  He could see Papyrus and Sans waiting at the other end.  Several wooden structures of a town could be seen just beyond them.  Frisk smiled and started his was across the bridge.
This time Papyrus seemed more frustrated than before.  "Human!" he shouted.  Frisk stopped in the center of the bridge.  "This is your final and most dangerous challenge!  Behold the gauntlet of deadly terror!"  Frisk stepped back in alarm when several large blades swung down to hang above the bridge, along with a cannon, a mace, and a thing shooting out fire.  His heart picked up pace as fear swept in.  "When I say the word, it will fully activate!" said Papyrus.  "Cannons will fire!  Spikes will swing!  Blades will slice!  Each part will swing violently back and forth!  Only the tiniest chance of victory will remain!"  Frisk glanced over at Sans, who smiled back as usual.  But after getting that warning from Flowey, Frisk found his trust toward Sans was faltering.  What if he already knew he killed Toriel and was playing along so Frisk would reach the most challenging puzzle and die?
           "Are you ready?!" said Papyrus.
Frisk shook his head, dark hair flowing slightly in a cold breeze.  "Not really."
"Oh.  Well . . . I'll give you a few seconds."  The taller skeleton paused to wait quietly at the other end of the bridge.  Frisk took a second or two to glance over the hazardous objects hanging in his path.  He was scared.  He didn’t want to die again.  Reluctantly though, he stepped forward.  He didn't know what was going to happen.  He just wanted to get it over with.  "Are you ready now?" said Papyrus.
Frisk nodded, trembling nervously.  "I . . . hope so."
"Good!  Because I am about to do it!"  Papyrus stared at Frisk, yet all the dangers still hung motionless between them.  Several seconds passed.
Sans glanced at his brother.  "Well?  What's the hold up?" he asked.
Papyrus turned to glare at him.  "Hold up?!  What hold up?!  I'm . . . I'm about to activate it now!"  He faced Frisk again.  Pause.  Frisk waited nervously for something to happen.  Papyrus started sweating, a look of concern coming across his face as he stared in the child’s direction.  Frisk stared back.  A soft, chilly breeze blew over the area as they stood in silence and continued staring.
Sans eventually ended the silence.  "That, uh, doesn't look very activated," he said.
Papyrus scowled.  "Well!  This challenge . . . it seems . . . maybe . . ."  He glanced away.  "Too easy to defeat the human with.  Yeah!  We can't use this one!"  Frisk smirked.  It kind of made sense now.  Papyrus wanted to be known for something but at the same time . . . he couldn't make himself hurt even a human.  Papyrus continued.  "I am a skeleton with standards!  My puzzles are very fair and my traps are expertly cooked!  But this method is too direct!  No class at all!"  He smiled.  "Away it goes."  Frisk sighed in relief as the objects in his path lifted out of the way.  Papyrus glanced down, still sweating.  "Phew."  Sans stared at his brother.  Papyrus noticed and scowled.  "What are you looking at?!  This was another decisive victory for Papyrus!"  He tried to laugh but couldn't manage more than a short “Ha!” before hurrying off.
Frisk crossed the bridge and joined Sans on the other side.  "So, where'd he run off to?"
Sans shrugged.  "Toward town but . . . I don't know what my brother's gonna to do now," he said.  "If I were you, I would make sure I understand how blue attacks work."
"Hu?  Don't I already know about that?"
"No, that was cyan.  This is different.  Some monsters can cast a blue, magic spell on a particular object or person," said Sans.
           "What does it do?"
"It makes them easier to target."
Frisk was alarmed to hear this.  "Target?"
"Heh . . . Don't worry too much about it.  Papyrus is too nice to kill you," he said.
           "Yeah, I know."
           "Good luck, kid," said Sans.
"Thanks."  Frisk continued toward the small town ahead, glancing back briefly.  Sans was already gone.  For being so inactive, Sans seemed to get around impossibly fast.
