So I have been flip-flopping on if I want to give my opinion on the fandom and anya's pregnancy

I, as my own human being never ever wants to be pregnant and for many reasons

(Like feeling like it'd be gross)

So this isn't me being "All women must have babies"

Just to get that out there

This is a very serious topic, but I feel like we are treating it like the end of the world

I personally think if Anya was on earth, she'd have gotten an abortion

She isn't, though, so she either decides like some real people decide and raise the rape baby or give it up for adoption

Anya killed herself because she wanted control of her life after months of it not being her life.

I like kid fics which is why I like the art and fics of her raising the baby

I would like to see more issues with her keeping the baby, but so far, I have seen one fic with it.

Now if I was ever to write a post canon happier ending then I would have her give it up for adoption

She doesn't have the funds to care for herself, let alone a baby.

Also, this feels related, but I feel weird about how people are treating a miscarriage

Like she can feel peace at it cause she doesn't have to think about it

However, I still think having a miscarriage would be traumatizing depending on how far along she is

People are just treating it as a fix it when it so many things could go wrong

We don't 100% know what Anya would have done, but it isn't wrong for some people to want to see a scenario where she keeps the baby, gives them up for adoption, anything in-between

I also think calling it misogyny feels weird when as again real people have kept their rape babies

It's not even peaceful because there is still trauma and when the baby finds out later in life it hurts

I don't think it's a happy ending

It is a ending however

Ngl it bugs me a little bit when I'm reading an x reader with pregnant reader and said pregnant reader got that way because of an immortal being but the pregnancy is completely the same as it would be for a normal human baby..

Have the immortal father explain to reader that carrying said baby to full term would only require four months of pregnancy instead of the normal nine. Have said baby need far more food than a normal baby. Have a huge risk of death. Maybe even have said baby talk to their mom in the womb via telepathy. The options are literally endless.

Birth and pregnancy need to be talked about openly and frankly without stigma and sugarcoating just like the rest of sex. People need to be able to make an informed decision and we need to respect those decisions without the fog of patriarchal pro-natalist bullshit. I'm an aspiring parent who stans for the childfrees and bodily autonomy. I stan for aspiring queer /trans/ poly parents to have families free from gendered, nuclear family patriarchal BS as well as GD anybody who chooses they want nothing to do with parenthood. Fuck dr's who deny sterilization to adults cuz they "might change their mind" as well as the ones propagating transphobic BS.

I used to sling pregkink art and hashtag not all kinksters are delusional about the realities of pregnancy. Our society is better with fully informed, ready parents, NOT a populace of people forced into a traumatic ordeal just to feed the capitalist meat grinder.

giving birth sucks tbh. not only do you and the baby you’re birthing almost die, usually you shit yourself and often you tear your taint. then you have to push an organ out of your body (placenta) and if even a little of that remains in your body, you can hemorrhage to death or develop an infection that essentially rots your body from the inside out. even if you had a relatively “easy birth”, you bleed for weeks on end. even after that stops, your body and brain is changed for the rest of your life, the pregnancy leeched minerals from your bones, that can cause osteoporosis later. minor urinary incontinence is not uncommon, brain scans of people who gave birth show permanent changes in their brain, you’re never quite the same.

I say all of this not to say giving birth is disgusting but it is a harrowing and visceral experience. society downplays how fucking awful it is and makes it out to be a ~magical~ experience but it isn’t a magical transformative experience for everyone. it can be an extremely traumatic experience for someone who wanted to carry a pregnancy to term, much more so for someone who did not want to be pregnant in the first place or someone who knows their baby won’t survive the birth. anyway, abortion is a right. pregnancy and birth aren’t just inconvenient, it’s fucking awful.
