I love how people complain how Tyler Hoechlin wasn't big enough when he played Superman. Like mf'ers... He had plenty of muscle ok? Like he looked good how he was, and most importantly he looked healthy, they didn't force him to bulk up to the point it was unsafe and bad for his health, like a lot of shows and movies do.

I mean look at those arms!!

He is still a big guy, tall and broad with muscle. He doesn't need to look like a body builder because he wasn't a body builder.

Tyler isn't a drawing, he isn't a cartoon character. Tyler is a real person who is not going to have the same dimensions as a comic book character.

Drawing Superman the way he has been was how they could portray his physical strength. In live action that isn't needed. We get depth and movement.

My favorite Superman/Clark Kent will always be Tyler Hoechlin. I'm glad they didn't beef him up more than they did, if they did at all.

Nerds will tie themselves into knots trying to justify their answers to "why is Superman ripped when he gets his power from the sun" but I have never seen anyone just admit "because a bodybuilder physique is modern visual shorthand for depicting strength despite the fact that professional weightlifters tend to be fat."

Like, he's a fictional alien man with magic powers. He looks like that because comic book artists in the 1930s wanted him to look """strong.""" There is no reason he can't be fat.

Alright. I'm gonna need a minute to be sad on main.

If you've seen my Flash farewell post, you know where this is going. But this one's for Superman. For me that is always going to be different.

I've loved Superman since I was a boy. I had a Superman blanket for basically my entire childhood. So heck yeah, this show was bound to mean something to me. But just how much, even I had no idea.

I was 16 when this show started, right at the tail end of COVID and the whole lot of it. If The Flash was representative of my childhood, then Superman and Lois was the mainstay of the most tender of my teenage years. It was my comfort show, through and through. There's really no other way to put it.

You can tell me it's not the best show, and I wouldn't deny it. But I'd be lying if I said it didn't mean everything to me. This is *my show*. Bringing my two favourite characters to life, exactly how I always imagined them, at a time when I needed hope more than anything. Words couldn't do it justice.

I really just want to say thank you. To the cast. To the crew. To everyone who participated in some way, big or small, in the experience I had with this show.

It's been a few years now. I'm a bit older. I've done more things and had more experiences. To think that I'm saying goodbye to this show is crazy, but the day has come.

I think some part of me will always want to come back. For the comfort. For the memories. At the end of the day, Clark was always who I wanted to be like.

So here's to Superman and Lois. A significant fragment in the experience of my life.

We're all saying it, but I don't think anything else could be more true.

It went by so fast.

Mid season trailer!

Been LOVING the season so far. I just wish they extended Superman’s death an episode or two longer. Him coming back by 4x04 felt a wheeeee too quick, but I do understand because they only have ten episodes to work with.

You can say what you want about arrowverse shows and I'm admitting that last seasons of a few of the shows were very iffy.

But one thing that never missed was crossovers. Legends of yesterday/tommorrow - very good for the first time. Invasion - just got better. Crisis on Earth X - Amazing! (Barry's little 'damn' when he sees Oliver in the suit will always be funny). Duet - well I'm not even gonna attempt to talk about it because it's my favorite crossover of all time even though it's not all of the shows. Elseworlds - funniest shit ever! (Oliver saying "what if barry comes in and sees us" after Iris kissed him lol). Crisis on infinite Earths did break my heart multiple times but hey, you can't have it all. But we can with all the cameos hello!!!

Chloe hangs up and sighs once again as a sudden gust blows through her apartment as a voice talks behind her. "What did Y/N say about me? Does he like me?" The blonde woman gasped and turned to see her smiling best friend, Clark Kent.

She put a hand over her rapidly beating heart. "Jesus, Clark. You scared the hell out of me. And were you listening in on my conversation?"

Something I appreciate about the S&L finale is that (unlike the Flash) they remembered whose show this is, and the essence of that is built right into the very end.

Because damn, this man really just loves his wife.
