.Whiskey. This is actually one of my favorite scenes of Tsuna's. Because it expresses something I'd always seen in him. He firmly believes in action speaking louder than words. We know Xanxus was bragging about how Secondo scared Giotto into retirement with the flames of wrath and went off on his speech and Tsuna just so calmly, because he's in DW mode and all inhibitors are shut off then (meaning this is like his rawest form of expression), says "Would you like to try it out?" AKA quit running your mouth and fight me then if you know so much about this flame.

This also reaffirms an earlier headcanon I had, Tsuna messes up socially a lot because this is the first time he's actually had a social life and not just been bullied or completely alienated from other kids shunning him practically.

It also showcases that Tsuna has a duality to him. He's not just this perfect, proper, soft spoken and shy kid all the time. He can be a cocky little bastard when he feels it's necessary and the filter gets shut off again.

YEAR ONE; portrayal notes

Bruce's career in vigilante justice started long before Batman was created.

As young as age 18 he was learning how to hack, as well as make his own weapons. He also learned much of his self defense & fighting techniques from Alfred & Alfred's friends (in my universe Alfred is a former spy for the British government, and in turn many of Alfred's friends are or were spies)

It is important to note that as a minor Bruce practiced and studied many methods of self defense & martial arts. His training with spies was just a more intense and in depth version of what he already learned as a kid. Well that and he learned how to use a lot of weapons too.

(age 18 - 23) Senior year of high school and through college (as well as one year after college) he worked as the Gotham Shadow. The shadow was more myth than man, with no one being able to prove he existed outside of those who received key intel from him

As the Gotham Shadow Bruce primarily worked on gathering intel about crime in the city, from small crimes such as muggings all the way up to corrupt police officers and public officials

At age 22 he would uncover a complex and dangerous human trafficking ring secretly run by multiple police officers, including officers such as James Gordon's mentor, a senior officer (Detective Flask) as well as well as he police commissioner. Getting enough evidence to get them arrested proved difficult. Desperate to make Gotham save again, Bruce/the Gotham Shadow reached out to Gordon. Gordon didn't react well and thought Bruce/Shadow was hired to frame his peers for crimes they didn't commit. For roughly a year they would play cat and mouse, with Shadow helping the fucked up police department close cases while struggling to close the most severe case of all -- the corruption in the police department. Not to mention as tensions rose Shadow shifted from passive intel gather to street combatant, leading to the GCPD adding him to their list of 'violent and wanted criminals.'

When Bruce is 23 Gordon finally realizes he should've listened to Shadow all along and tries to clean out and improve the GCPD. However change is hard to make. After all, Gordon is only one man... Not to mention with Internal Affairs being understaffed there is little to no consequence for misconduct. Making matters even worse are the judges being paid or blackmailed into turning a blind eye to the human trafficking being done by multiple GCPD staff.

As corruption spreads within the GCPD, so does the power of the local mobs. Crime rates reach an all time peak. Gotham is on the verge of destroying itself.

(23 years old, almost 24.. This is when the Batman appears in earnest) While sneaking about and gathering intel on the mob, Bruce hears both mobsters and police officers alike talk about a rare species of bat that drinks both human and animal blood. Although the bat is not native to America, it looks a lot like bats seen around Gotham, making citizens nervous. These overheard conversations give Bruce an idea.

The Gotham Shadow was too mysterious and myth like -- an unseen force that most were oblivious to (and most certainly not afraid of). Gotham needed a symbol, someone to scare the tyrants and bullies into behaving. Hence, Batman was born.

Batman's first major mission is to rescue Gordon who is one of few officers eager to arrest their corrupt peers as well as arrest those contributing to mob crime/violence within the city. Under Gordon's watchful eye Carmine Falcone's bloody empire suffers greatly, resulting in Gordon putting a hit out on Gordon. Batman rescues Gordon who thanks him by saying, "if there's something the Shadow taught me is that I need to trust people like you more. I look forward to working with you, Batman."

(a year later / aka year 2 of the Batman) Batman's noble efforts in protecting the city earn him both praise and ridicule. And in others, obsessive and unhealthy fascination. Joker makes his appreance, first as a fan of the outgoing and handsome Bruce Wayne, second as a fan of the powerful and mysterious Batman. The Joker starts out as a non-criminal named John Doe. After wayward interactions with both Bruce and Batman, and after struggling to adjust to regular life (he had been in prison, charged with both robbery & arson as well as possession of dangerous chemicals -- he liked to make never seen before mixtures of chemicals as a hobby) he took up a life of crime as a means to make money was well as to gain the Batman's attention.
