Lives Could have been saves in Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse in Balt... Many Canadian Bridges Also Unprotected From Ship Collisions and Potential Collapse The Vancouver company designing the AIIMS (Accidental Infrastructure Impact Avoidance System) says their Hybrid software and hardware technology would not have been able to prevent the Baltimore Bridge Collision but could have offered more warning and stopped traffic on the bridge before the collapse. Although the system is not ready for launch yet, it is coming and could be used to prevent or mitigate damages and injuries for land and water-based collisions with infrastructure including bridges, tunnels, buildings etc. Most importantly it can save lives by early detection of potential pending impacts and activating the system's automated warnings to stop surrounding traffic earlier than other means of doing so.  The Province of BC has been rejected from the ability to use the system as they showed interest and scheduled preliminary meetings with the company but failed to show up for scheduled meetings with the company and no courtesy of notification to the company of non-attendance. The company had made special arrangements for the Government of BC to help provide solutions after a large number of impacts with highway overpasses in BC to save lives in the home province of the company.  The AIIMS Technology can not only help protect lives and infrastructure but also prevent environmental disasters.   For More About The AIIMS Technology  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXzUBKHj-24 Contact PPCM AI Tech propicscanada@ gmail. com #highways  #commecialtransportation  #nationalhighway  #highwaysafety  #CommercialTransportation  #trucking  #truckingsafety  #infrastructure  #collisions  #accidentprevention  #HighwayssafetyAuthority  #TransportationSafetyBoard  #tsb  #Highwaysdepartment  #departmentoftransportation  #CVSE  #shipping  #water #sea  #Accidents #bridge  #bridges  #baltimorebridge  #baltimore  #baltimorebridgecollapse  #bridgecollapse  #BridgeSafety  #tunnels  #cargoship  #cruiseships  #tankerships  #tanker  #shipping  #ntsb   @NTSBgov   @CNN   @FoxNews   @ABCNews   @abcnewsaustralia   @aljazeeraenglish   @News24thinkfirst #harbour #commecialtransportation

I went to our local Burlington coat factory for the first time in like 7+ years to look for the betsey Johnson Halloween sheets and I was so astounded by the difference between the home goods I’ve been to many, many times for my new house and this place. This place has anti-theft measures on EVERYTHING. Even a pair of novelty Halloween SpongeBob boxer briefs I bought. And I think it’s kinda super telling that this store is in a neighborhood that is poorer and many, many of the customers are non-white (mostly Latino here in reno)
Meanwhile the Marshalls in one of our nicer (and probably whiter) neighborhoods has almost no anti-theft measures. It’s nuts. (And do NOT get me started on how some of our CVSes has excessive anti-theft measures, depending on what part of town they’re in, while others don’t)

funke nods. "if you're worthy," he repeats gravely.
"must be a huge operation, if they're following everything." she's suspicious, obviously. cross has to have expected that.
"my mom works in a CVS," the redhead offers brightly. "now there's an operation. know how many CVSes there are in this country? hundreds of thousands, at least."
"at least," ruth adds flatly.
"they crown you?"
she's giving funke a blank look. she has absolutely no idea what he's talking about, but he says it as if it's important. she's pretty sure.
at least cross understands the other question, even if it makes them a little squirmy. any second now she's going to have to start lying, and that's going to go badly because it's very obvious when she's lying.
"it's, um. global analytics." they do everything and nothing. "it's, like... trend forecasting but for everything, i guess. then there's research and development. investment. surveillance." corporate espionage, covert ops, black ops, assassination.
yeah, cos that doesn't sound shady.

I think I need to share what’s been going on.  Three weeks ago, I got sick. It started with feeling kind of vaguely tired and having a sore throat. Out of an abundance of caution, I stayed home. Sore throat stayed. Temperature got up above 99.5, so: to a fever. Slight cough. And a night of shortness of breath, in which I slept halfway over on my stomach so I could feel like I could get oxygen.  Finding COVID Testing:  The local hospital operates with having a bunch of UrgentCares and MedExpresses that refer people inwards towards the main hospital. One of them has been converted to a COVID assessment center. On all websites, the number for this building has been removed and replaced with the hospital system’s COVID hotline.  In theory, the center is open 7 days a week. The COVID hotline? Five days a week. So I couldn’t call and determine if testing was available. The other UrgentCares/etc didn’t have any clue and didn’t want me coming in with a fever and respiratory symptoms.  CVSes and Walmarts had testing, but none of the ones in my area.  Eventually, I found out that MedExpress near me had tests, but only before noon, as they tended to run out for the day in a couple of hours. I showed up early that next morning. Got tested. They said it would be five daysuntil I got a result.  Five Days Later... I tested negative. In the same breath, the doctor who tested me told me that only 2/3 of the people who actually have COVID test positive. In other words: the test result meant almost nothing. My fever was still going. Still a slight cough. They told me I couldn’t return to work until I was 72 hours fever free.  Chest X-ray I got in touch with my doctor. Her nurse suggested to me that the fever, which had lasted more than a week at this point, almost two weeks, that maybe my fever was related to the fact that I have IBS. “My daughter gets a fever when she hasn’t gone in a while!” Oh, really? Does she get a cough? Does she have that fever for multiple weeks?  After several tries, and the nurse clearly attempting to keep me from talking with my doctor, my doctor orders a chest x-ray. She tells me I can go to any UrgentCare to get the x-ray.  I call an UrgentCare and ask if that’s true if I have respiratory symptoms. “Sure, as long as you don’t have a fever!” Remember: I have a fever.  They send me to the COVID center. I go there. I wait. It is very hot outside and I am not comfortable as a result. They eventually call me: sorry, remember the thing where your insurance and this hospital had a negotiating dispute? Well, one of the resolutions was that you actually *can’t* get a chest x-ray outside of the hospital itself. Your insurance won’t cover it if it’s in one of the urgent cares.  I drive to the hospital. I try to go in. The woman at the door stops me with questions about fevers and respiratory symptoms. Um... yes??? I have those things??? I’m here for a chest x-ray??? She goes in. She comes out. She says I’ll have to reschedule my appointment because of the symptoms.  Here, I snap. What do you think I’m getting the chest x-ray for? Who do you think just sent me here?  She goes back inside. I sit down after a while. It is very hot. I am very much not comfortable.  Eventually, the director of patient experience (or that was what I remember his badge saying) comes out and asks me what the chest x-ray is for.  “RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS????”  They take me inside. An x-ray tech asks me if I had a fever at the front. I say I don’t remember what the number read. She goes off to check. She comes back. “Since you had a fever we’re going to have to refer you to get the x-ray at the covid center.”  The one that just sent me to the hospital.  I do not remember what I said. I remember that she asked me for confirmation that the center sent me to the hospital, and then she said that she would just go ahead and do it because I looked so miserable.  The chest x-ray took three days to come back, for some reason.  It was clear.  I googled it. Apparently chest x-rays are a garbage way to find out if someone has covid because they’re overwhelmingly clear on ambulatory covid patients.  So: still no answers.  Second test?? I asked if the hospital would consider giving me a second covid test under any circumstances. The answer was a firm “no.” The nurse answering the phone also told me that the people manning the covid assessment center, in the actual building, have never been tested.  Antibiotics I manage to get in touch with my doctor again, after some more gatekeeping from the nurse. She agrees that she’s “worried” about me. She prescribes antibiotics. I take them.  I feel a little better? But I’m guessing that was placebo. Because then my fever starts going up.  Now I have been sick for three weeks. My fever is worse today than it has been this entire time. I have called the doctor, been unable to reach a real person, left a message, and haven’t gotten a call back.  The antibiotics, needless to say, have not solved the problem. My symptoms are mild. The worst is the fever. I cough lightly every once in a long while. My throat is still sore. The night of shortness-of-breath seems to be the worst of that, and my oxygen readings are fine. I am, admittedly, not apparently in lifethreatening danger.  But no one has given a fuck. I have been handed off, diverted, pointed away, and ignored. I have had a fever for three weeks. I am missing work. I am locked in my apartment alone. And I cannot make anyone in the current medical establishment pay attention or care.  Hey, guys? Guys? This sucks.
