Today, we worked alongside community members of every race and background cleaning up #grandrapids after the protest last night. We are inspired by those who have showed up in protest to demand an end to injustice. We are inspired by those who have showed up to cleanup and demonstrated the power of a united community. We are inspired by small businesses banding together providing food and supplies to the protestors and the cleanup crews. We are inspired by the hundreds of volunteers who boarded up the small businesses in our community to protect them during this time. We are inspired by the parades of cars moving through the city honking, playing their music loudly, displaying banners, and cheering. We are inspired by our city and ready to see the change that is so desperately needed. Together, we are a powerful force and I know we can do better at standing alongside one another to prevent racial injustice from happening.
