as an east asian in the rpc, i’ve definitely noticed a surge in east asian fcs, specifically kpop fcs. while i’m not a fan of kpop, i have no problem with people using kpop fcs or making resources for them as long as it’s done respectfully. that being said, i follow both @hiqey​ & @reedrph​ and to my knowledge, i don’t see them portraying asians disrespectfully as far as i’ve seen so i’ll have to disagree with this anon on that. 

what bothers me in general is HOW people portray east asian fcs. i have seen east asian females played as “uwu babygirls” & male idols/actors as “mischievous little rascals” time & time again.  people need to STOP deifying east asian fcs & stop calling them your children. this shit is rly creepy since these idols are like regular people… in their 20s. they are not gods and they are not children. if you want an east asian oc, make sure they have actual depth. play them like you would any other fc of color. we aren’t special just because we are paler & have young-ish features.

regarding krps, i am kind of uneasy with the entire concept. especially the ones that take place in korea & people just walk around pretending to be korean?? why not make a regular  town rp where everyone is welcome??  going by that logic, if there were a latinx rp that takes place in south america (where a bunch of white people pretend to be latinx,) that’d be unsettling too, right?

this post is getting too long bUT cvghjk. i would like to encourage you all to use other asian fcs. there are so many south asian, southeast asian & central asian fcs who are just as stunning. thank you @pocmuzings​ for giving this east asian anon a voice through your platform.

Is it finally acceptable for us Asian individuals in the RPC to call out the consistent fetishization of East Asian fcs? I am sick of seeing so many of you, such as @hiqey and @reedrph though there are so many more guilty of this, treat us as an aesthetic. I am so happy to see Asian FCS in groups, I am, but they are almost always just picked up by white ppl who use us an aesthetic or bc they find them attractive. Their blogs are full of kpop fcs, some even make resources >>

You ignore what we say time and time again and it's frustrating. It's frustrating being in a community that will never listen to you. Besides this, there are so many other wonderful fcs of color that you can enlighten. I love seeing East Asian FCs but we deserve to be played respectfully and fcs of other races deserve to be used and played respectfully as well. But, every time we bring this up, the RPC simply turns a blind eye. I expect the same will happen now as your fetishization and aesthetic of east asians due to finding kpop idols hot is more important, but I want to give light to this once again. I do apologize for spamming you. I don't mean to @hiqey as I know someone has said something about her already. I tried sending an ask to her blog about this but it did not go through and I wanted to bring this up. Thank you so much for everything you do, it means so much to all of us that you are giving us such a platform.

i can admit this is something i’ve very strongly noticed in the rpc and i did mention it a few weeks ago on my blog but nobody was ready for that convo and was too uncomfortable to really Interact with what id posted dfkjndjkn . but thank you for speaking up and talking about this ! obviously i am not east asian , but i don’t think you need to be east asian to notice how much of a ‘fad ‘ or ‘trend ‘ kpop stars and korean fcs have become and it IS becoming a fetish . you can admire someone and a band , thats not a fucking problem , but if your entire range of characters or rps you join are just dedicated to ONE RACE then you need to admit that you are fetishsizing a whole ethnicity and culture . also , i think it has caused harm to not only east-asians , but asian fcs in general because like i previously mentioned : i almost NEVER see ANY south asian representation because people seem to really only focus on east asian fcs and really put their whole attention into that part of asia , and thats not actually very diverse of them ! 

i’d really like to , again , hear from @hiqey and @reedrph because i think its fair to see their opinions and views ! im sure ( or hopeful ? ) that they won’t mind , because i don’t think this is a call out or you have said anything rude ? you’ve been extremely diplomatic and honest , and tbh i’ve noticed things like this myself very much in the rpc ! i strongly agree and commend you , anon , for speaking up and talking about how this makes you uncomfortable , from your position as an east asian in the rpc ! hopefully this can further and start a new conversation and we can talk about the differences between being a Fan and admiring people , and when it turns into being Harmful towards a community !
