Ok, let’s get this over with here’s everything that was wrong with this ATLA adaptation. I’m gonna try to start from the beginning there’s a lot lmao:

I didn’t care for them showing the genocide of the air nomads. This is what i feel like what they meant by wanting to “appeal to GOT fans” it felt like it was trying to be edgy. Changing Aang to “needing to clear his head” instead of literally running away from his responsibilities because he’s a scared goddamn child was pure stupidity. And takes so much away from him. Even the scenes going back and showing Aang “being so much more special” than the other kids was so stupid. He wasn’t “so much more special” that’s the point. Up until Aang discovered he was the Avatar he was normal! He lived a normal life his friends treated him like everyone else! that’s literally WHY he ran away! Because they instantly started treating him differently after it became known he was the Avatar!!

Holy shit all the shit they tried to shove together in the arcs. From omashu to the southern air temple to sokka’s fucking ice berg trials. It was clunky, cheap, and downright disrespectful to the source material and I 100% support the creators leaving lmfao cuz this shit is a joke.

So much happens with so little explanation but at the same time core character traits are overexplained. They’re constantly saying “oh you’re so kind, you’re so fierce, etc” having characters verbally DESCRIBE other characters charter traits, instead of fucking showing it. Katara for example (just one of the many characters they fucking butchered but i digress) in the opening scene when Katara screams at Sokka for his sexist remarks and breaks the ice that showed just how unconsciously powerful she is at water bending. She is a prodigy. This is shown to you literally in the opening moments of the show. After discovering Aang in the iceberg Katara runs head first at the iceberg with Sokka’s boomerang to bust it open. This shows that Katara is impulsive and rash but kind and caring. She is literally breaking open the ice having no idea what it will do in the name of helping someone who clearly needs help (who realistically would most likely be dead) but she tried. Like that whole opening of ATLA told you so much about her character WITHOUT LITERALLY HOLDING YOUR HAND AND TELLING YOU. Then taking out Sokka’s sexism and letting him unlearn it was pure fucking lazy. Reducing Katara to “younger sister who needs to grow up” was a bad joke.

Like listen i’m not a “oh my god it should’ve been frame for frame like the cartoon” like there’s room for acceptable changes and space to add to the narrative. The way they got into Omashu was an acceptable change (not the jet part but hitching a ride was fine), adding Lu Tan’s funeral was GREAT it ADDED to the overall story and added depth to Iroh, even the bit with the Earth Kingdom soldier was good. Adding in Ozai’s little dogs at Azusa showing him pushing her behind the scenes and pitting her against Zuko was also nice imo. Like these are things they could’ve added and worked with the original creators on. Even the part where in the bar they’re like in the background easter-egging about the canyon episode like that was fine anything that was pure filler could’ve been mentioned in that way. But that’s the thing with ATLA few things are PURE filler. Almost every ep arc serves a genuine purpose, which is why shoving it all in a blender and hoping for the best was really not it.

Even Appa and Momo were reduced to like a mode of transportation (i also didn’t like this in legend of Korra bison became more like cars had less personality and purpose and were just A Way To Get Around i get why bc there were so many etc etc but still) and like a pet. When they’re not! they’re genuine characters! ESPECIALLY APPA! They play crucial roles in the plot they have a purpose and agency they’re not just “funky animal side kicks” which is what they feel reduced to, to me. Appa is so vital to the group and episode that is 90% silence and is just about his time away from aang is literally one of the best episodes in atla.

I haven’t even finished the whole thing yet this is just my thoughts so far based on what i remember rn through my disappointed rage lmao so ✨i’ll be back✨

okay so, you know how people write that Regulus would run away to the Potters with Sirius?? Okay, I call bullshit (respectfully). But anyways, thoughts on Regulus whose safe space is instead, with the Rosier twins (or just Evan if you like). Specifically, it's a run-down treehouse behind the Rosier's house. It's nothing fancy, the wood is old and seems to be on the verge of breaking, there's mold and fungi in the corners, cobwebs, dust over old things left behind through the years, and a thin mattress with holes, escaped feathers, and dirty stains from the twin's experiments.

Regulus likes it there, it has this melancholy yet disturbing feeling to it that he finds a sort of comfort with. He likes to spend his summers and breaks there if he can with the Rosier twins, just sitting there while Evan and Pandora look at the interesting, beautiful, and grotesque things nature can offer. Sometimes there is music playing and sometimes it's just them breathe with some mindless chatter scattered about. That is his safe space, that's where he wants to be.

But I for sure agree that If regulus were to run away, it would be to the rosiers. Like in an ideal, nonmagic, no Voldemort world, it would be to barty (I’ve read a few very good fics with Barty being the savior here, and they’re all in like a better world usually modern AU) but that can’t happen because Barty is also under his abusive parents’ thumb, an abusive parent who doesn’t like the Blacks for being dark. So he’s not a good choice in the ‘canon’ but the rosiers, while supporting the Blacks and not being good parents themselves, I don’t think they’re helicopter parents like the Blacks and the Crouches. Like, I think they actually have a decent amount of kids, like 5+ at least, and just pay no attention to any of them. So you can get away with a lot in that house, including smuggling an entire person.

And you’re vision of liek an overgrown, smells like dirt and moss, sort of area is very cool. I also like it because it takes away from yhe idea that regulus is such a haughty rich boy that he’s like scared of dirt. I get him being unknowing or averse towards certain stuff because of his life being lived in wealth, but I feel a lot of people take it a bit far. Like he’s unable to live without silk or something. I feel that regulus is someone who is very fascinated by the grotesque, macarbre, or simply unsavory like this leans more towards.

And I think that teh rosiers enjoy seeing him in a such a place. His almost uncannily aristocratic and perfect look with this rotted and forgotten place as the backdrop is a very good thing to them. I can’t say much for pandora because I don’t write about her much, or personally fully agree with the rosier twin headcanon, but I definitely see it for Evan. I write him to be obsessed with regulus to a degree where he doesn’t exactly want to control or jar it but he wants to re-contextualize what makes regulus beautifuk to be his in a way. And this is literally his area with a world no one’s watching, where they can be alone and consumed by it. And not even in just a dark way, like it can be a lighthearted get away from the world too.

Yeah no one asked me to yap all that but there it is, I like your ideas and your aesthetic for them is always very cool and intriguing to me :)

He is such a gentleman and secretly very romantic. He’s the type to hold open doors and pull out chairs for his S/O. Omg and he offers his arm for them to hold whenever they walk. Gives his jacket to them when they’re cold. Literally so sweet and polite. Relating to this, he is like so faithful, doesn’t notice anyone else his attention is always on his S/O

Lots of little compliments, every day he’ll call his partner beautiful/handsome. He’ll whisper compliments into their ear whenever he passes by them ;-; 

He’s not one for PDA but if his S/O initiates it or likes it, he’ll do it. Anything that’ll make his lover happy. He naturally has an arm around his S/O whenever they’re in public, but he doesn’t really initiate anything else unless he has to intimidate some perv/enemy or unless he gets a bit jealous. 

Very protective- he always has an eye on you from far away or up close, he’ll ask a crew member to escort you somewhere if he can’t. He tries to stay by your side whenever you’re out with him and the crew, he’ll just find himself next to you sometimes not even realizing he walked over.

He’s not the best at comforting, but he tries his best. He’ll leave his S/O alone if they need that, but he’ll also hug them against his chest and let them cry as much as they need. He’ll rub their back and attempt to whisper reassuring words

He loves drinking with his S/O, sometimes after a stressful day that all he needs to relax. He also likes having them in his arms while he drinks/parties with the crew. He definitely stargazes with his S/O

Dates are usually nice bars or little resturaunts on the islands the Red Hair Pirates dock at. He doesn’t have much spare time so whenever he does he spends it with his S/O. 

Omg sharing a bed with him is like having a giant teddy bear. He’ll always let his S/O sleep with him, usually having them tucked into his side with their head on his chest, or directly on top of him. He’ll rub their back until they fall asleep, then he’ll just listen to their breathing for a bit until eventually it lulls him to sleep aswell. He secretly loves when his S/O lets him rest his head on their chest, the sound of their heartbeat makes him feel so calm and safe.

I can not explain how excited I was to write his :D

He is so sweet, literally a giant teddy bear- That’ll rip (shoot) anyones head off if they harm his S/O. He was the first character to kill someone on screen, so that should tell you something. He’s very protective but he’ll often just watch his S/O from afar and make sure he’s ready if they need him to step in. He won’t wait for them to signal for his help, the second he sees someone threating his S/O’s safety he’s there pushing his S/O behind him and shielding them from whoever’s causing the danger

He will try to be more subtle with his gentle and soft side in public. He saves the lovesick confessions for private. Because seriously he’ll start listing off all the things he loves about his S/O to them. One time he got super duper drunk and accidently started doing in in front of the crew. They never let him live it down

He likes to have his S/O sit on his shoulders, he’s quite tall and big so bending down that far to hold his S/O’s hand is kind of uncomfortable. But when he has them sit on his shoulders he’ll reach a hand up so they can hold it while they walk. He’ll do this anywhere doesn’t matter who’s there, the whole crew could be teasing him and he would just continue eating and throwing the occasional “At least I have someone to do this with” 

It is so easy to guilt trip him. He could say a compliment like “You’re so pretty baby” and his S/O could do puppy eyes and be like “Do you only like me for my looks?” [insert lip quiver] and he will be a stuttering mess that then practically throws flowers and gifts at them while trying to apologize

If the crew teases him about all of his affection towards his S/O, he becomes a little distant or less affectionate for a bit. He does have an image to keep, so he’ll really only be soft in front of his lover and the crew. In public it’s more of a colder/less lovey-dovey affection, no nuzzles or cheek kisses, and he tries to hide his blush and flustered-ness

So hugs- he is so soft when he hugs his S/O. He’ll usually pick them up or sometimes he’ll bend down and let them wrap their arms around his neck then stand back up bringing them with him. In public he’ll bend down and help them onto his shoulder. He freakin 7′11 so he is worried about hurting his S/O. Thats why he holds them close, but very gently. In private when he picks his S/O up he’ll cheekily smile at them before offering his cheek because he takes kisses in exchange for his hugs.

When he shares a bed with his S/O he’s very careful to not crush them, he’ll have them lay directly on top of him or up towards his head holding onto his arm. He sleeps liek snorlax so just picture like a kitten sleeping on snorlax, thats the position most of the time.

When he’s drinking or sitting around wiith the crew he likes having his S/O on his shoulder or right next to him. He’ll often have them sit on the table in front of him so he can rest his head on their shoulder/top of their head. And he absolutely loves when his S/O feeds him, like holds out a pice of meat for him, then he’ll offer them a bite too ;-;

Yasopp

His personality is similar to Usopp’s, except he’s a lot less of a coward (no offense usopp I love you) He would star at his S/O quite alot, just admiring their face and the way they smile. He loooooves their smile, he’ll do anything to see it. 

He likes to showoff his shooting skills, so sometimes he’ll have his S/O watch him practice. Also he’ll offer to teach them how to use a gun. He’s very protective of his S/O and prefers to have them next to him or at least within reach at all times. If he sees someone starting to cause trouble for his S/O, he’ll watch and make sure they’re okay but the second they look uncomfortable or signal for his help, he’s over in the blink of an eye. He won’t immediately hurt whoevers messing with you, but a harsh threat warning and very scary glare is what they get. Buuut the second someone threatens actual harm towards his S/O, it’s over for them.

He holds his S/O’s hand whenever they’re out together, or he likes to give them piggyback rides- more hand holding though. He’ll take them shopping or looking for a decent food place in his spare time. He loves when his S/O is with him when The Red Haired Pirates are partying at a bar, but he’s also worried about how crazy and somewhat dangerous it can get with all of them. So he’ll have his S/O sit with him either tucked into his side with his arm around them, or sitting in his lap.

He just loves telling his lover about his adventures and of course his wonderful son. He has definitely thought about introducing his S/O to his son when he sees him again someday. Yasopp will sit with his S/O on the deck and tell them stories about his life, he loves seeing them smile and laugh at his tales. 

He loves hugs from his S/O, in public they’re rather short but in private they can last forever. He’ll pull them close and nuzzle hiss nose into their hair while holding their head against his chest. His hugs last a lot longer when he’s having a really soft moment or when he occasionally gets a bit insecure.

When he shares a bed with his S/O he likes spooning, he’s fine being the big or little spoon just as long as the crew doesn’t know he can be a little spoon. He prefers being the big spoon because it makes him feel like he’s protecting his S/O. He also likes to lay his head on his S/O’s chest and listen to their heartbeat while they run their fingers through his hair- he falls asleep right away like that.

didn’t do merch cause i did that in london, didnt go for studio cause that was probably not feasible with how our lines were going (at least i was too scared to do it).. sucks cause i didnt get allowed into the london booth while in the amsterdam booth everyone was queue-ing up anyways and getting in lol

pre concert stuff So I was going to the concert with a person(Julie) I met through tumblr, she responded to my message asking if people wanted to queue up in GA with me cause I was alone. She was with a group of people and they basically adopted me so that was nice!!  Julie was super kind, constantly looking out for me, for my anxiety too and just I really loved being with her, time really flew!! We prioritized looking out for eachother over seeing the boys so I was really happy bout that! We basically queued up at 7AM in the 'unofficial line' that later on became the official one! Campers were sent out, I believe, but they probably came back early still! We still had a fairly decent spot I suppose? The camping out itself wasn't too stressful but I had a lot of anxiety bout being in the pit in a crowd of people, not havin bathroom breaks and being on 2 hours of sleep gjkfg Julie tried to reassure me through all of that. there were some fans giving out some stuff in the line!! like arts and stuff and i got this from a jimin fansite, i think she was japanese? 

it was so funny basically she did rock paper scissors with fans to determine if they’d win.. i lost but she gave it to me anyways?? LOL she didnt give it to anyone else that lost LOL

gettin into pit Eventually we got in and fortunately my tickets worked!! We like rushed into the left side but the view was not bad, ok, then we tried for the right side and we got similar views? But I think overall it was just a little better! We were around the sixth/fifth row in the pit but we moved up a bit to the fifth/fourth during the concert. I had a fairly good view on the stage, and could see the boys clearly!! I still used my iphone to film cause of the amazing quality zoom it has and i have so much gooood footage ahhhh my hands are super shaky though so thats annoying but oh well, its something! they like handed out water very often thank god so i could cool off and drink durin the concert!! we had to stand for like 3 hours inside so i was getting really nervous but once the concert started it was fine!!

concert Anyways the concert itself was mindblowing? They're actually sosososo good live it's actually insane how they sing live through their choreo or while bouncing around. Tear is still my favorite performance but the crowd went a little too wild around then so i didnt enjoy it as much :( They also did the medley I prefered (w Baepsae) which made so happy cause i got to experience both medleys now jdskfhfsdf.. i do feel like the performances were better for the London date, but the interactions and the boys happiness were on a much higher level in Amsterdam, especially with jungkook flying around trying to dance!! That said I felt like the crowd fell a little bit flat.. When the Jimin/Namjoon VCR was playing everyone was screaming initially for both but after a hot minute they like only screamed for Jimin?? The silence was actually deafening so Julie and I decided to help with Namjoon's screams then, and it was so disappointing we were legitimately the only 2 people screaming for him in such a venue lol. Crowd did however go wild at Kim Seokjin's performance, and IT'S WHAT HE DESERVES. Overall I think Seokjin and Jimin had the best reactions in Amsterdam, and London both.

impressions on boys As for the boys. Gonna be honest with y'all I was so busy filming Jungkook solo all day that I didn't really notice others?? fdjkghdf since i already had thel ondon date i figured today was jungkook's day now i had sights on him proper.. Some notes, Yoongi, Jimin and Namjoon spoke some Dutch and it was super cute!! Yoongi did it first fjgdkhfdg 

Yoongi: Super smol but big hands, and fluffy cheeks (he bloats really easily lolol) his see saw performance was REALLY good today too, i feel like reaction to seesaw is the best, everyone's always singing the whole song w it while most of the crowd struggled with their title tracks in both london and amsterdam LOLLL yoongi must be so proud over it.. also he's the first to speak in dutch to us but it was like really suddenly right before they were performing so nobody really noticed fjghkdfg and u know when he makes a dad joke and he smiles flustered, but nobody reacts to his jokes.. he did that thing LOLLL

Namjoon; very long and slender, his legs are legit 70% of his body and he went offffff today like when he's into shit like tear i cry cuz oh my god merCY kjdfhgdhjkfg Namjoon seemed to really love Amsterdam tbh he kept talking bout stuff to do while the others had fairly standard stuff to say, with a lot of repeat from the london concert too (which is fine vconsidering its hard for themt o speak in eng too)

Hoseok: He looks a lot sharper irl?? im not sure if i said differently last time, but now i saw him up close he's definitely much more handsome, cameras dont do him justice.. also he always has the most gentle smile on his face and it calmed me down a lot jkfgh

Taehyung: tbh im not sure if i missed him but i didnt really see him on my side a lot? i think like a few times i tried to film but couldnt really get it..?? julie did tho.. he's kind of.. small? but not small like yoongi but small like i'd confuse him for a high school kid.. BUT his face?? is really smth else his face is SO small but his features are sooooooo big and sharp.. god himself shaped this boy

Jin: ok yeah this man is 10000% more handsome irl liek i was filmin jk and lost focus and then jin appeared and i almost dropped my phone cause what the fuck?? hes GORGEOUS.. he didnt do the forehead/glasses look today though, unfortuantely cause jesus christ that was something else. he was bein a crackhead to jk again today rofll

jimin: he's legit a fairy irl lol it doesnt make sense.. like.. he's... really pretty....... super super super pretty, guys like legitimiately glowing.. he was super playful today and he seemed really happy to perform on his birthday which is super pure considering.. who likes working on their birthday? he like moved his dressshirt/blouse off shoulder a bit during the fake love portion of the set and oh ym god h..e..........HE... his collar... i want 2 kiss it.......platonically.

as for jimin's birthday.. omg he's so cute? they were at the extended stage when his birthday message came up (a message in dutch) and he like instantly rushed back to the main stage to show off his birthday message and he proceeded to talk in dutch about how it's his birthday, and how army are his gift?? it was suuuper cute!! imagine Jimin practicing his dutch just for this moment fdgkjhdf

jungkookie!!

Anyways onto ma boy!! Jungkook is absolutely unreal pretty. He didn't look as bloated/pained today so i guess i saw The Jungkook today and he's so.. sharp looking??? like his jawline and cheekbones are insane and like the dimple?? ughhhhh he looked a lil smaller now i was upclose but his thighs were still gods gift.. also he did forehead kookie instead of coconut kookie, i remain blessed.. he always hears my prayers..

throughout the show he was honestly super cute, he kept dancing in his chair to the choreo, spinning in circles while doing it, hopping around the stage slowly to wave and look at every fan.. he even looked towards me at some point but i legitimately dodged and turned away cause like I FELT SO GReaYS ANd i'd rather not have him see me like that lmaooo anyways it's so super cute how despite his injury he still tries to give it his all at all times, and now he could walk around he's instantly back at trying to make interactions with all fans?? a precious baby honestly!!

his ending ment was really-really sweet as well and it always amazes me how eloquent he can get when he gets to share us his real feelings.. i really am glad he's not too disappointed in himself anymore and has reached a point where he's just working on getting better instead<3!!

other than that, just like in london.. jungkook's vocals are insane. i don't care that he's not top tier vocalist in terms of technique but he got smth completely else and thats' how comffortably he can move around in his range and remain stable and it's just.. so amazing to hear him hit certain notes with almost.. ease? voice never cracks even after 23948234 songs it's so sickkkk

anyways this was definitely one of the best nights in my life.. despite allt hes tress and anxiety.. i’m sosoosos glad i went through all of this for that.. i had the greatest company and ended up having the greatest experience<3
