Let's go down the line of fuckassary: LONG ASS POST AHEAD.

1: Gaia looked and acted like everyone else. She should've been WAY angrier, she should be pissed at Persephone for bringing about winter first of all. Should be pissed that she was a sleep and NOTHING got better over the centuries. But sure, she's giggling and happy.

2: It's soo funny that people keep SAYING that Persephone and Hades have true love but the comic hasn't showed us that ever 🤨, like if anything those two losers are obsessed with each other. Be so fr.

3: Once again..this should be Persephones story/POV but its in Hades' always. Fascinating.

4: "You have to spend 3 months away from your sugar daddy" OH NOOOO BUT WEVE BEEN APART FOR SO LONGB 🥺. God. At this point does she even NEED to be in the Mortal Realm fr?? Like..Demeter, Metis and Rhea are back now so..what's her purpose there.

5: The way Gaia just isn't. Gaia is baffling. Anyways. Demeter FINALLY found out what happened to Persephone but she's not..having a moment with her daughter?? Not talking to her about it?? Okay.

6: As usual. They're eager to have sex cuz that's the only thing they do. "I can't wait to see that ass--" ..how very Zeus and Posedion of you quote on quote romantic 🤨

7: She gets her coronation but..didn't she already have that when she married Hades?? Ig not then. Also..Apollo just got a slap on the wrist, not surprising.

8: The disrespect to Zeus is so. 😶 Zeus would literally not sit back quietly for this shit the fuck??? Also..Hera didn't divorce Zeus all those years and now she did ?? And she's what..gonna get with Echo now??? Fascinating. Zeus needs to start tossing rocks. Rachel did Zeus and Heras relationship so fucking DIRTY!!!! GOD!! FUCKING DAMMIT. I hate how she wrote them. Anyways.

9: The Mortal Realm is a lot easier cuz Hades is there?? YOU WERE BORN THERE!!! ITS YOUR HOME!! You ungrateful ass spawn. It wasn't that fun cuz you didn't have a man there?? Insane.

10: The way Persephone clearly doesn't love her own mother is sickening actually. Like..we can't even have them talking to each other?? Dancing?? Even the comment about her doesn't have that much emotion. Also..Dionysus' hair looks goofy, and I guess Hades is all for bringing back mortals now despite making a big stink about it in season 1 but whatever. Yay Semele.

11: "hera just gives him busy work" ..He's literally the king. Literally-- oh my god. "His powers having been the same" which..MEANS WHAT?? And the way Zeus would literally not be happy about this shit is so-- UGH. God it's infuriating. Hades and Posedion clearly don't give a shit about their brother if they aren't concerned about his fucking powers 'not being same'??? Die.

12: Echo needs to stand SEVERAL feet away from Hera. That ship is so god damn tasteless and unnecessary. If you're gonna give hera a new love interest. Maybe give them actual moments?? Make it make sense!!

13: "Ares is still a dog!" *cue laugh track sound*, god this is so..why ?? Ares, baby I'm so sorry people keep disrespecting you in every iteration 🤦‍♀️

14: ignoring the Artemis bit cuz she wasn't relevant for any of the major plots and she still isn't. Anyways. Hades stay the FUCK away from Thanatos. "They can have conversations" oh?? How fascinating. Hades just NOW deciding to care about Thanatos doesn't make up for years of his neglect.

15: Persephone, Ares and Aphrodite should beat Eros' ass for being useless about Apollo. I still think that. Eros is an ass of a friend.

16: 'new powers' ..Girl your powers are basically your old powers with one extra step. Shut UP!!! anyways. (No one cares about kassandra, sorry not sorry. Who was worried about that )

17: Hades and Persephones millionth drabble of nonsense fluff. They're not saying anything new, nor are they doing anything new. I do like the art tho. It's just..baffling how..they're relationship started soo much nonsense and we're suppose to see it as a good thing??

Nevermind the fact Persephone didn't spend time with her friends or her MOTHER, nevermind the fact Zeus and Posedion don't even get to speak to their mother either.

Hera, Hestia and Demeter don't have a moment with Metis either.

Like..what was the point of bringing them back if you weren't gonna bring it to a satisfying conclusion?? Absolutely insane

Also..Eileithyias design is ass. It's sooo boring. It's literally just pilot Hebe but darker. Oh wow she's yellow with purple eyes??? Insidious. Also she just looks boring and bland to be the daughter of the literal king and queen but sure. Give us nothing.

And..again with making the children boring copies of one specific parent! Macaria is so..boring to look at just like Melinoe. Also...hades can..have kids now?? 🤨 okay.

So basically..this was insane from start to finish.

think about Second Child, Restless Child by the oh hellos but with pjo Apollo. Some lyrics I think fit and why:

"see I was born a second child" - he was born after Artemis

"they were quick to recognize the devil in me" - the similarities between him and Zeus, some of the titans(including Leto), even some similarities to beings like Rhea.(Ask me about this cuz I will gladly explain)

"See, I was born a restless child" - he fought a giant serpent when he was, like, 4 days old. I know he was a godly child but still, god damn.

"Can you hear it hanging on the wind?Can you feel it underneath your skin?" - the prophecies. His predictions come to him in all forms. Not just the oracles. The oracles speak the prophecies, but he sees them first hand. He sees them everywhere, hence the wind. They can also come from "underneath his skin" ie, his mind and heart.

"You've got to run far from all you've ever known" - his trials is what I'm thinking here. He had to live without all he knew(his godhood, Artemis, his powers) for a long time while still fighting monsters and for his life.

"so THESE are the kinda things she likes???" he'll be questioning the credibility of these facts, but he'll be VERY curious and try to launch his own... experiment on her to find out

hades will be the second to find out. i like to think he caught beelzebub reading them and was curious about it too only to be VERY surprised to see that it's about his nephew and niece. Rather than getting mad, he'll genuinely feel amusement and second-hand embarrassment for Apollo 😂 (he'll buy some books later on tho when no one's looking 👀, maybe he can find a way to replace Apollo's name with his own...???)

poseidon and percy are the last to find out. daddyseidon is PISSED that apollo dared to write such explicit works about HIS precious daughter, he'll also be VERY brutal with the critiquing like "you think my daughter's looks is comparable to pearls? WRONG! there is no creature or object in this world that can contest to her beauty how DARE you degrade her like this!!!" someone's gonna need to hold him back

poor percy will NEVER show her face in valhalla ever again after this, in fact she is never stepping foot out of the palace 💀 (this is the one good thing to come out of apollo's fanfics in poseidon's opinion)

All the basics of Greek myth

The gods/godesses their roles,ther relationship etc etc

Okay. So first of all we all know about the 12 Olympians, i.e., Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Athena, Aphrodite, Hermes. Hephaestus and either Hestia or Dionysus, plus Hades.

Now before these Olympians there were the Titans, which included Kronos, Rhea, Oceanus, Coeus, Japetos, Crius, Hyperion, Theia, Themis, Tethys, Phoebe, and Mnemosyne, all of whom came from the Primordials, Ouranos and Gaia.

Along with them the other primordial gods included Khaos, Tartarus, Erebus, Eros, Nyx, Aether, Hemera, Pontus and Ourea.

Now this is an extremely brief explanation of these three generations of deities. I’mma get into a little more detail into their relations by whipping out Hesiod’s Theogony/the Greek Creation Myth (cuz his version is considered the standard creation myth for this pantheon till date), which sums about everything up pretty well actually so… Kudos to our fellar.

So according to this myth, in the very beginning, there was only chaos, from which we get the personified and deified version of it called Khaos. But soon after Gaia, Eros and Tartarus pop up, and then Khaos creates two more deities, namely Erebus and Nyx, who then, together, proceed to create Hemera and Aether, while Gaia creates Ouranos to partner up with, and they both, again together, whip out

The male titans, namely Kronos, Coeus, Japetus, Crius and Hyperion.

The female titans, namely Rhea, Themis, Tethys, Phoebe and Mnemosyne.

Three cyclopses, namely Brontes, Steropes and Arges.

Three Hekatonchieres (monstrous giants of immense strength and power, each having fifty heads and a hundred arms), namely Briareos, Kottos and Gyges.

Now all of these three sets of kids have one common thing, hating on Ouranos, for some reason that gets later uncovered. The reason is mostly him kidnapping his monstrous-looking kids and hiding them in secret places under the Earth (which, here, is Gaia).

Gaia got sick of this shit and produced a sickle out of adamant and asked her kids to teach Ouranos a lesson, but among these kids, only Kronos stood up to do it and so he did. Hid inside Gaia and when Ouranos came to lay with his wife, his lil kid popped up and castrated him, his two little thingies falling into the ocean, leading it to foam, and from that foam was born our beloved Aphrodite. Sensational. From his blood arose the Erinyes (chthonic goddesses of vengeance), the Giants and the Meliai (nymphs of the ash tree).

Now Kronos had full control over the cosmos from Ouranos, and was producing kids (i.e., Hestia, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera and Hades. Zeus wasn’t born yet) with Rhea. But his dad and Gaia had prophesized that one of his own kids would overthrow him, and from there we get the famous Kronos-swallowing-his-kids myth. And ofc, Zeus gets saved from the swallowing thingy with the help of his mom and grandparents, and then raised in seclusion in a cave below Mount Aigaion in the city of Lyktos of Crete. Also Kronos doesn’t know about this cuz Rhea wrapped up a huge stone in baby’s clothes and gave it to him saying it was the last kid, aka, Zeus.

(Chiron is also one of Kronos’s kids, and hence Zeus’s half-brother, paternally cuz Kronos once turned himself into a horse to mate with the Oceanid nymph, and one of the daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, Philyra, who mated with him in the usual human-nymph form, and hence we get him as a centaur.)

After Zeus grew up fully, he forced Kronos (Gaia did something to help with this, like give him some kinda poison secretly to make him puke his kids out-) to release his siblings. He then released the Cyclopses (who were still trapped with the Hekatonchieres btw), and then gave him his signature thunderbolt. This is when the great war called the Titanomachy happened between the Titans and Zeus and his siblings, over the control of the cosmos. This war went on for years, and in the 10th year, Zeus even released the Hekatoncheires, who also helped him overthrow the titans. Zeus threw his thunderbolt at the previous generation of gods, hence defeating them and throwing them into Tartarus, thus ending the war.

There was another threat to him tho, and it was Typhon, son of Gaia and Tartarus. But Zeus defeated him too and threw him into Tartarus as well.

Then my mans got elected as the king of gods (as he should), and had his first wife Metis. But after knowing that he had the same fate as Kronos, i.e., a son of Metis would overthrow him, he swallowed his wife (while she was pregnant with Athena, and hence later on we see Zeus HIMSELF giving birth to a fully-grown Athena from his mind) and that’s how he ended the cycle of succession. Smart move but I need justice for Metis >:<

Now for the new generation of Olympians, i.e., Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hermes, Dionysus and Hephaestus (also let’s add Persephone too), here’s how it goes. (Athena and Aphrodite were already covered above)

Apollo and Artemis were twin kids of Zeus’s 6th wife, Leto, who was the daughter of Coeus and Phoebe.

Persephone was born from the union of Zeus and Demeter. (there are other versions to this myth too)

Dionysus was born from the union of Zeus and Semele (a mortal woman), but he was again stitched to Zeus’s thigh to save him from Hera, who was deadlocked in killing him (cuz ofc Zeus cheated on her with another woman), and later births Dio himself. (there are other versions to this myth as well. For example, another myth says he was born from the union of Zeus and Persephone.)

Hermes was born from the union of Zeus and Maia (Atlas’s* daughter)

Ares, Hebe and Eileithyia were born from Zeus and Hera.

(*Atlas was one of the kids of Japetos and Clymene, who’s an Oceanid, and hence one of the daughters of Oceanus and Tethys.)

Now I haven’t mention what these deities are the gods of, because even though they are known for maybe one of two things they govern over (like Athena for wisdom and war, or Apollo for sun and music), their designations are actually pretty broad, and this post is long enough so ykw I’mma ask you to check out theoi.com and the theogony section of Wikipedia for further info :)

Starting off with Hebe, who ran to the Mortal Realm at Apollo's horrible suggestion. Immediately, she notices that something is very, VERY wrong there. It's not Spring, Summer, or Winter, but something in-between.

Today, we would call it Fall or Autumn, but given her reaction, that wasn't a thing in those days. Additionally, the scale of seasons is way off by her count. If the four seasons are split evenly across the span of the year, they'd be 90 days/3 months apiece.

I had made a comparison in one of my previous LO posts to @neil-gaiman 's American Gods. In that narrative, the Gods wither away and die if there us no one to worship them. It seems not too different with what Hermes is saying here. No believers, no powers, no existence.

Apollo's got a lot of nerve pointing fingers when he hasn't done jack-diddly-squat-shit to help. Hell, a big portion of this fuck-fest is his fault to begin with!

Even if he could go to the Underworld, he'd just be a train wreck there as well. Honestly, before Ouranos was revealed to be the one helping Apollo, I would've suspected Kronos to be the culprit. Not sure which is worse.

Let me be clear. I have had A LOT of complaints about Demeter in Lore Olympus. The toxic, controlling behavior made me hate her because I have experience with someone much like her. And to be fair, Demeter still sits on my shit list.

But...

She has finally taken some difficult steps. She went to therapy with Persephone to try fixing their unhealthy relationship. She is struggling hard to be better, and it isn't a TOTAL loss.

This moment here, where she gets in Apollo's face, gives me another crumb of hope for her. First, she attacks his blatant disrespect of Persephone. (True, she has done plenty of her own, but I feel her putting a stop to it here is an important step forward.) Second, she voices how much she is against Apollo being anywhere near Persephone. I'm still not sure if she knows Apollo SA'd Persephone; I think that if she did, she'd be doing much worse than pulling his cape over his head.

Oh, hi Eris! It's been a hot minute since the last time that we saw you! Is this a mental conversation just between you and Apollo? The arrow through the chest bit brings back memories.

Part of me is confused as to why she appears to be beside Persephone in the Underworld in the 3rd shot. Maybe it's a visual in Apollo's head as well? The line "That sounds like something you would do." comes across as her saying it to Apollo, but for Persephone to hear.

Artemis already knows about what happened to Persephone. Her finding out that Apollo poisoned Zeus would NOT come off as farfetched to her at this point.

The blatant, unfiltered disrespect to Hera here is horrific. Hera has NEVER rested on her laurels for what she did to bring down Kronos. She has been mentally and emotionally suffering in silence for millenia. Persephone and... Hestia, I think? have worked to support her and lift her out of her depression. It has helped, but Hera still has a long way to go.

This fucknugget has BEYOND the FUCKING AUDACITY to not only put down the Queen of Olympus, but stab her where it hurts the most.

I hope that when everything falls apart for Apollo, he suffers HORRIBLY and for an extremely long time. I want him to suffer so badly that he begs for mortality and is DENIED so that he KEEPS suffering, just as his victims have suffered. ARGH!

I have never read Lore Olympus, I don't really plan to? I've just sorta dropped into the rabbit hole of LO Critical stuff after Instagram suggested me this one account I now follow

And like, I technically have started reading it? But only in search of a very specific scene i have no hint of knowing where it is besides it being later episodes

So I'm jumping back between episodes, scrolling and skipping many stuff in search of it and I came across this episode

One thing I'll admit, without context, without properly reading everything + based on what people have said, I feel bad for EVERYONE except Persephone and Hades

Though I'm also getting mixed feeling about Hera but that would for another rant

And this has shown to be especially true in this episode, from what people have been saying is that Zeus is made to be the bad guy but ?????? That moment he had with Artemis is killing me ?????? Maybe it has to do with the fact that I had a rocky relationship with my dad (it's getting better but still) and stuff like that absolutely send my heart and makes me weak, and I tend to love bad(not necessarily evil, just...morally complicated) guys who are actually good dads regardless (ex. Vlad with Danny, Techno with Tommy, Ganon with link (tho it depends on a lotta stuff), etc.), so like, I'm probably not the best judge for this.

So tell me LO Critical people, what should I worry about this man? Or has he just been misrepresented by Rachel like so many others?

I need to know! Cuz I'm (unfortunately) sorta attached????? Not to mention how I've seen so many sweet moments, it's hard to believe he should be worse than Apollo 😭😭😭 (he isn't perfect, but no one is, especially not in this series lmao)

The crows as demigods??

All the crows have so many talents that it's impossible to sort them into having only 1 godly parent. So I thought hybrids

Kaz: Definitely son of Athena, I mean such complex planning with multiples layers that even the participants more often than not can't unfold them. Outstanding intellect and extraordinary memory. But also his pickpocketing skills, his cunning, thievery and his lying ass definitely come from Hermes.

Jesper: Hephaestus yes, god of metal works and crafts also with that restless energy of his. But I also feel like Poseidon, sure he doesn't have any water powers but I just feel like it. Hermes kinda cuz he's the god of gambling and we know how much our boy loves gambling (after Wylan). Ik he's an amazing shot but that's really because he's Grisha so I'm not gonna say Apollo.

Inej: Honestly she seems the type to join the Hunters of Artemis, but would she if it meant leaving Kaz? Ares I think yes, she is amazing at fights, she literally worships her knives, her weapons although her stealth is kinda Hermes.

Wylan: Definitely Apollo, guys? Wylan Van Sunshine?? This is a classic glow-in-the-dark-light-up-our-hearts boy. With his earnest and kind way of looking at the world he shines on the streets of the dark Barrel. And he studies music so there's that. The bombs and skills in chemistry tho, not sure, Hephaestus maybe?

Nina: Hecate yes, cuz most the stuff she does is magic. But hear me out, Hades?! She summons the dead, people!? Well technically dead bodies but same old. And Aphrodite, you cannot tell me this girl does not use charmspeak, but she doesn't follow the rite of passage like our darlings, Piper and Selena.

Matthias: The guy fought wolves with his bare hands? Ares. Physically built too while training as a druskelle. Khione? We know that he comes from icy wastelands, snow powers aren't too far fetched. If it helps, imagine him singing let it go. Also somehow I feel like Zeus, lightning powers would suit him.

Kuweii: He has fire powers so probably Hephaestus.

Well I think Ketterdam suits them better than Camp half blood so.
