I was out to eat in Cuyahoga Falls with my folks earlier, and we’d just finished up and were driving around when I commented, “hey, this is around where the stairs from that Devo video are.” Two seconds later, these were to our left.

As we all know, in the “Jocko Homo” video, Booji Boy runs along the now-iconic “Shine On America” mural and goes up those very stairs. This other building is beside it now, obscuring what used to be the mural. You can still see some remnants along the side.

Around front, the building used to be home to Studio 2091, kept up by Mark Mothersbaugh’s sister Amy. It closed in 2019, sadly, and it’s currently, well, gutted. (Not sure why my phone camera made it so blindingly bright.)

Too bad I never got to see it in its prime. Hopefully someday someone legit will take it up and turn it once more into a cool gathering space. And keep the awesome acid green while they’re at it!
