Day 23 of posting cute creatures we found on our field trip:

Hey, I’m back! And today’s creature is beyond special:

This is Balkan whipsnake (Dolichophis caspius). This is a fully grown adult. These colubrids are big, some grow over 2 meters in length. They have that wonderful copper colored head, shiny grey body and bright yellow belly. But they also have Black Air Force energy.

I’ve worked with these snakes a lot during my herpetology courses and oh my god, they are mean! They are called “whipsnakes” because they can actually hit you with their tail and because their scales are so tough, it hurts like a bitch. They love to bite. And they don’t have the “bite pose”. Most snakes coil up to prepare themselves to strike, but these do not. They are incredibly unpredictable and they can fucking jump. And on top of that, they have so much energy. Most snakes tire out in a very short period of time, but these do not. I don’t know how do they do it, but they can keep striking, swiggling and jumping for over an hour. And they do it while in the bag where we put snakes to calm down as well. They are unreal. A true menace to society.

But they eat rodents and venomous snakes so you want to have them around. And they are cute. Even though they bit me, I still love them. Here’s a cute juvenile as a bonus:

Juveniles have small black spots all over their body and are equally as crazy as the adults. That’s why we’re holding this one by her head. She bit three people.

DP x DC where Danny pissed off a sorcerer/wizard/witch with a twist-

Danny doesn't really remember why or how it happens. He vaguely knows he got on someone's nerves, like he always does.

Next thing he knows he's in a dark alleyway, which would be fine if everything didn't look ten times larger than him.

It takes him an embarrassing amount of time combined with an uncomfortable interaction to realize what happened.

He's an otter. A wholehearted sea otter.

Okay, so that means whoever he pissed off has magical abilities. Which would be easy to locate if he was still in Amity.

Except he wasn't. He had no clue where he was, or how he got there, and people keep chasing him?!

He settles in hiding out in a sleek black car, sneaked in while the older man had the door open.

He's not sure if it's a blessing or a curse to still have some of his powers. But it is making being an otter just a little bit easier.

He hadn't expected to fall asleep, or to wake up being carried inside an insanely huge manor.

The old man was surprisingly gentle and sweet to him. He had truly expected to be rushed away with a broom.

Instead he was placed in nice cold bath, as the man contemplated what to do with him. The mentions of a river or a zoo, and Danny was out of there.

He's choosing to ignore the fact he was called small in the same breath.

He did feel bad for running away from the old man, but he didn't have time for possible imprisonment, he needed to find someone. Anyone that can help turn him back.

He didn't mean to accidently phase through the ground in his rush, and find himself in a cave. An actual cave, with way too much high tech equipment.

Neither did he expect to come face to face with a man dressed in black with the shockest look on his face.

Let's just say, Danny was glad this man can take a hint. Standing on the counter of a giant computer while point and chittering and squeak is not the best way to communicate.

But what else was Danny supposed to do? He was just lucky he managed himself into a vigilante's hideout.

It has been so long since I had fun taking my time and polishing an illustration. This has absolutely no special meaning, it was more "hey, I have this idea and I want to do it". Also sorry Steve, I needed to move your organs a little to make it functional (๑˘ᵕ˘)

For the WIPs game, could you share more about Tiny Elrond?

'Tiny Elrond' is the name of an au in which Elrond is--get this--tiny. He's like 2 inches tall.

It's just a silly au that came about from some frantic audio editing with @nighttimepatrons (shocker). Elrond is a little fae creature who falls madly in love with Celebrian the first time he sees her. He spends all his time pining for her until one day he sees her in the forest and works up the nerve to say 'hi' to the giant elf. Celebrian thinks he is very cute and takes him back to Imladris. Celebrian founded Imladris in the late second age with the help of Erestor and Glorfindel, who are still helping out in the third age.

It's just a cutesy little thing about how Elrond learns to navigate a giant city while being madly devoted to Celebrian (she eventually falls in love with him too, don't worry). I also get to play with some of the complications of Elrond no longer being in his natural environment.

The WIP doesn't get much attention but I am very fond of it still.

I have a little story written of Elrond first seeing Celebrian and I will post it with the slightest provocation.

I'd imagine Acronix has very strong feelings about his sense of self, his identity as a person. Which for a greater part of his life was closely tied to his element and his brother. It's who he was and what he lived for. Having his element separated from himself was one blow, and being thrown 40 years into the future was the other.

And Wu, having assumed Krux dead for those 40 years and not wanting anyone else to know Acronix would return, likely set up gravestones for the two. Stumbling upon those while leaving the monastery would've definitely thrown Acronix for a loop. And in ninjago city, nobody would've known who he was or even believed him, as Dr.Saunders told the hands of time as if they were myths. To the world, Acronix is dead or simply doesn't exist. And, still, nobody would listen when he said otherwise. Tired of everyone else saying what he is or isn't, he let his actions speak for him. It may not give him the favorable reaction, but for once his identity was in his own hands again.
