To move beyond denial requires not only an acknowledgment that slaveholders practiced a kind of scientific management but also a broader rethinking of deep-seated assumptions about the relationship between capitalism and control. Though there are many exceptions, histories of business practices—at least those that reach a general audience—tend to be both individual and social success stories. They tell stories that are win-win, with businesspeople earning profits and customers, laborers, and communities benefiting along the way. This can, of course, be true. The shift from seeing trade as zero-sum to positive-sum was one of the most important transitions underpinning the rise of capitalism.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS: S3/EP4/ONE’S GOT CLASS THE OTHER ONE DYES (PART 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luke and Lorelai both have "unique" approaches to conducting business, I'll give them that. This chapter was rough for me to write for some reason and then I LOST my draft partway through and had to rewrite everything! Some things that are happening:
-Lane attempts to initiate a conversation with Mrs Kim about her new band. She loses her courage before Mrs. Kim presents her with applications to strict Christian colleges. -Michel suggests that the honor of being named a Successful Person in Business is a low bar to clear when Lorelai's only business competitor in Stars Hollow is a presumably homeless and/or mentally ill fellow who scours the streets for change with a metal detector. I mean, yeah, he has more ambition and a better work ethic than Lorelai does.
-Luke is reluctant about the speaking gig and Lorelai threatens to embarrass him by singing badly in public if he does not comply. He may as well refuse since she's going to embarrass him on a daily basis no matter what he does anyway? -Luke says he went to Stars Hollow High for three years. Huh? I thought he's lived in The Hollow his entire life? High school is four years long. Did he move, drop out or graduate early? No explanation was given at this point in time.
Tumblr media
-Luke has "no good memories" of high school. Join the club. -Luke asks Lorelai if she's ever been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder. No, the answer you're looking for is no. She is unmedicated and dangerous.
Tumblr media
My beloved Tomatos Sign is missing! You'd think it was because after 3 years the prop department noticed the spelling error and took it down to fix it. You would be wrong. It'll return shortly to be Tomatos for several more years. Should I ask that Valerie Campbell lady (as "key set designer" is her title, I believe) why it took 5+ years for someone to notice one of the most visible props for the entire run of the series had a spelling error?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lane is interesting. Yes, she is naive in many ways, that's a given with her upbringing. But she is also painfully self aware and highly intelligent. She is definitely not stupid. She fully realizes how desperately boxed in she is by her neurotic mother. She makes the effort and takes risks to live life on her own terms even though it usually seems futile and AmyShermanPalladino is always lurking around a corner waiting to shatter all her hopes and dreams. Rory on the other hand is such a pathetic people pleaser and so desperate to keep her mother happy that I think she's blind to the fact that she's actually in a similar situation, Lorelai just masks it under the veneer of being a "cool young mom" and Rory is content to remain more stagnant. I have more thoughts on this subject but let's not make this into a rambly mess. On with the ShitCircus.
I can't believe it looks there's another fucking festival going on in the background. I am grateful some of these seasonal events exist because it helps me keep track of where we are in the year. There's pumpkins, it's fall, the Thanksgiving episode is still a ways away so I can assume it’s early October and Rory would have just had her 18th birthday.
Tumblr media
Lane and Rory on their way to harrass Queen Shane at her place of employment. Minimum wage in 2002 was $5.15, by the way. Look at that Rory, someone your age has a JOB that makes MONEY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stars Hollow, the land where nobody has seen a tv show produced after 1975 but the references to modern pop and rock music flow like wine.
Tumblr media
Alexis really does have some spectacular defeated/fed up with everything facial expressions in her acting playbook.
Tumblr media
Sure her customer service skills aren't the greatest, but if Lorelai Gilmore is allowed to leave work in the middle of the day to shop for coffins then Shane should be allowed to read a Seventeen behind the counter and ignore Rory. Her manager, Cynthia, is pretty chill and will look the other way if Shane slacks off. Reminder that while Rory knows who Shane is, Rory has barely been a glint in the corner of Shane's eye. Any time that Shane and Rory have shared the same space, it's been when Shane runs into the diner, makes out with Jess, and doesn't look back. Because she is a god damn superhero.
Tumblr media
It's unlikely Jess and Shane ever use their tongue for talking either so I doubt Jess has told her who Rory is. So to Shane Rory is just some random customer who is staring at her weirdly like she's trying to melt her with her eye-beams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at that exemplary customer service. Better crown her Employee of the Month now, before Jess offs her and throws her in the lake next month.
Tumblr media
Dirty white aprons with tomato can accessories are the newest sensation on the 2002 Paris Runways. Luke Danes, fashion icon. Time to go to class. Lorelai is there to play Fashion Fairy Godmother. Upstairs we go to get him out of that sweaty flannell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's so filthy. L&L barge into the apartment without knocking to find Jess in the middle of pulling up his pants. Walking into any room that a teenage boy might occupy is a risky game, but Interruption seems to be Lorelai's biggest kink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know Jess is just a poor little street urchin but can we get him some clothes that fit for once? In 2002 Milo was so smol a stiff breeze could have blown him away. He's wearing a belt and it's not working. Those pants are so baggy they could fit 3 Milos in them. Not that I would mind if his pants fell down. Looks we're on Gilmore Girls Time today, where down is up and right is left as Luke and Lorelai are about to give speeches at Stars Hollow High in the middle of the school day but Shane, Lane, Rory and Jess are not in school and no one cares, so it's Who The Fuck Knows O'Clock.
Stars Hollow High: Jess is not graduating because he never went to class. Luke: How could I possibly know that? Jess settles into a chair with a chemistry textbook. Our Child Labor Kingpin here Luke Danes tells him to go help Cesar downstairs. Jess says his education is more important than Luke's desire to use his nephew for cheap child labor. Luke disagrees. Luke goes to change in his bedroom leaving Lorelai, Jess, and a cloud of awkard silence to mingle in the other room. Luke has a book on his shelf called "Forty Days" but i can't find anything with that title. It sounds kinda erotic, tbh. Lorelai says she's gone swimming with Luke and has seen him shirtless before. Que? Jess: Have you seen him with his shirt off lately? He's really let himself go. Lorelai: *Sneers and ignores him. (to Luke): And lose the baseball hat! Jess: I think his head will fall off without it. Lorelai (snarkily): I think he'll be okay. You wanted Jess to talk, right? You're going to continue bitching to everyone you know that Jess Mariano only speaks in grunts like a caveman unlike your little fucking English scholar there Dean Forrester, right? He just lobbed you two funny quips in a row (and you love funny quips!) but now you're silent and giving him a dirty look and a nasty attitude. WHAT DO YOU EVEN WANT, WOMAN? MAKE UP YOUR MIND! WHY SO SILENT QUIPPY! WHAT DID THIS CHILD EVER DO TO YOU!
Tumblr media
I'm just gonna sit here and read my little Chemistry book, and one day I'm gonna make 40 kajillion dollars when my books are made into blockbuster movies, and I will own you, Aunt Lorelai. I will own you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lorelai doing the Fry squint at Jess when he asked if something was wrong, because she refused to make conversation with him.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Gilmore Girls Time. Let's stop the clock for a minute here. Moments ago, Shane was at work. She rang up Rory and Lane, and they left immediately. The scene then cuts to Lorelai entering the diner and then after he gets a brief lecture about his clothing choices, Lorelai and Luke start to head upstairs so he can change. In order for Closet Girl to be Shane, her shift would have ended seconds after she finished with Rory and Lane, and then she would have to immediately run down the street, sneak upstairs to Luke's apartment without him noticing and would only be seconds into servicing Jess as Luke and Lorelai are about to walk in PLUS he would need time to hide her in the closet and pull up his pants and appear cool calm and collected. I know Shane is a slutty superhero but could she really put that off in just a few minutes? Conclusion? It wasn't actually Shane in that closet and Jess has a rotation of girls who skip school with him to service him in his uncle's closet.

Hey y'all. I'm technically still on hiatus and will be for a few days longer, but I am getting such a flood of asks that I'm just popping on to make a post about this anyway.
My two cents are: 1. Everyone chill out and wait and see. it isn't in anyone's best interests to freak out and bother the cast or crew. we'll get answers when Six is ready to give them and unfortunately that just requires some patience. 2. That being said, I would be very surprised if they don't have alt costumes. we all know the logistical/coverage issues, I have posted extensively about the makeup that indicate that they all have three costumes and perfectly match up with alt colors (and they have no good reason to have them otherwise), we've seen alt costumes that would be currently in some level of use, the racks are being very carefully hidden. it is just very, very unlikely that they drop that. I know there have been some statements that would contradict that, but this exact same playbook happened in 2021 with people saying they didn't have them and we all know how that turned out. I said back then that they surely still had alt costumes and I was right on that; I feel significantly more confident this time around. I do think it's worth noting that lessened shows schedule means 2nd/3rd cover shows are less likely and it's wholly possible that they may not all wind up even debuting in alt costumes. they also might all be using older, re-used alt costumes rather than a custom for them (this is particularly important because if that's accurate they may not wear them for alt photos either). irregardless, seems very unlikely that they don't have them at all. 3. There's a million technical/logistical reasons for the decrease in performances and no scheduled alt shows. I know it may seem concerning at first glance, but it's actually a really good sign that the production is still successful and continuing to plan for the long term!! I'll explain this in more depth when I'm back from my hiatus.
I know I have some asks about more specific nuances of all this and I'll get to those as soon as I can! I just only had time for this for right now.

tell me everything about monster of the week it sounds interesting i want a paragraph please please please
WONDERFUL monster of the week is a powered by the apocalypse ttrpg. that means it’s based off the monster of the week genre where there’s a different monster or antagonist for every arc (think buffy, supernatural, the x files) and the driving force behind every plot is the apocalypse (which can mean a bunch of different things, but usually translates to the monsters killing a whole bunch of people). the players are various types of monster hunters who have to work together to investigate the monster or antagonist of each arc, find their weakness, and then stop them from killing a whole bunch of people. you only use 2d6, and rolling works on a success, mixed success, or fail system- 1-6 is a fail and you don’t do what you wanted to do, 7-9 is a mixed success and you do what you wanted to do but there’s consequences or you only do some of what you wanted to do, and 10+ is a success and you get to do what you wanted exactly how you wanted to, sometimes with added bonuses. there’s a whole lot more mechanical stuff i could explain but it’s a very simple system especially compared to d&d, and it’s easy to find free pdfs of the rules online which i implore you to do if it interests you because it’s super fun!! it’s a mystery focused game so there’s a lot more roleplay and investigating than combat, which is part of the reason i like it so much lol. also, similar to call of cthulhu, the game master is called the keeper!
NOW what i was talking about in that post. the different types of monster hunters are the classes of this system, called playbooks. they’re what determines the skill sets, moves, and general vibe of each player character. some are professional or experienced investigators, some are magic users with funky powers, and a couple are straight up otherworldly beings or monsters themselves! i’m sticking to the classic playbooks and the playbooks from the tome of mysteries expansion for my picks for the jrwi boys, but there are also a ton of awesome homebrew playbooks out there. you can find a huge masterlist of them by just looking up “motw playbooks”. ANYWAYS here’s the playbooks that i think the jrwi guys would pick:
charlie
the mundane: charlie seems to love a good just some guy character and that’s literally what this playbook is. they have no special powers, no expertise on monster fighting, NOTHING they are just a dude. i think he’d find that extremely entertaining and also figure out a way to make it incredibly angsty
the initiate: basically a cult member and the closest thing you can get to being a warlock in motw, which was in my head because i listened to the suckening rolled earlier today and charlie mentioned how regardless of what setting he’s in in a game he’s always looking for a way to make a pact with something LMAO. the playbook also has a lot of built in dubious morality on the side of the cult, which i think he’d have fun with
the chosen: this one feels obvious, with how often he plays characters who are chosen ones. the chosen playbook also tends to be quite tanky, at least every time i’ve seen it played/played it, which i think he’d like. plus you get to customize your own weapon and i think he’d have fun making a sword that can kill god
grizzly
the gumshoe: a classic detective type. i honestly have no proper reasoning for thinking grizzly would pick this playbook but the vibes are right for some reason. i’m picturing arthur style brooding with a noir detective vibe, a juno steel type character yknow
the divine: in terms of aesthetics, this is rumi if she was a monster of the week character. the playbook comes with a cool divine weapon that does a shit ton of damage but the move set is geared way more towards support, and i think it’d be interesting to see grizzly play a support character
bizly
the crooked: bebo plays a lot of criminals what can i say. the crooked playbook has specific backgrounds, and i think he’d have fun with the charlatan or fixer options. this is also one that you can take in a much more cartoony direction if you want which i think suits him
the wronged: the thanatos of motw playbooks babeyyyy. the wronged is all about losing someone you cared about to a specific type of monster and dedicating your life to hunting them down. again, very thanatos, but a lot of bizly characters have the theme of searching for someone they lost or attempting to make up for not being able to save those people, which is one of the most common routes i see played with the wronged
the flake: the timothy rand of motw playbooks! bebo loves his paranoid conspiracy theorists! this one i picked because i think he’d find the move set funny there is a move that rewards you for doing the opposite of what someone advises you to do, and one that’s literally called crazy eyes. very chip very rand i think he’d have fun
condi
okay condi is the hard one because he doesn’t really have a “type” the way the other three do. i honestly think that out of all of them he could take any playbook and make a really interesting and character out of it. my top picks would be the spellslinger (cool magic user) the spooky (little freak), and the searcher (little freak but without supernatural influence), but more for vibes than anything. again i think he could pull off any playbook
thank you for coming to my extended monster of the week ted talk hope you enjoyed

"Navigating Success: The Digital Marketing Landscape in Michigan"
In the heart of the Great Lakes region, Michigan stands as a beacon of innovation and economic growth. As businesses across the state strive to reach new heights, the role of digital marketing has become increasingly vital. In this dynamic landscape, embracing the power of digital marketing opens doors to unparalleled opportunities for businesses of all sizes.
Michigan's diverse business ecosystem, ranging from automotive giants in Detroit to tech startups in Ann Arbor, demands a strategic approach to digital marketing. Harnessing the potential of online platforms and technologies is crucial for staying competitive in this thriving market.
One of the key pillars of digital marketing in Michigan is social media. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter offer businesses the chance to connect with their target audience on a personal level. Whether you're a local retailer in Grand Rapids or a tech company in Lansing, creating engaging and shareable content on social media can significantly boost brand visibility.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is another cornerstone of successful digital marketing in Michigan. With consumers increasingly relying on search engines to find products and services, businesses need to optimize their online presence to rank higher in search results. This not only enhances visibility but also establishes credibility among potential customers.
Email marketing remains a powerful tool for businesses across Michigan. Crafting targeted and personalized email campaigns helps build lasting relationships with customers. Whether promoting special offers, announcing new products, or sharing valuable content, email marketing enables businesses to stay top-of-mind and foster customer loyalty.
Michigan's digital marketing landscape also embraces the importance of mobile optimization. With a growing number of consumers using smartphones for online activities, ensuring that websites and content are mobile-friendly is essential. This not only enhances user experience but also positively impacts search engine rankings.
Collaborating with influencers and leveraging partnerships is another effective strategy in Michigan's digital marketing playbook. Influencer marketing allows businesses to tap into established audiences and build trust with potential customers. Local influencers can play a significant role in connecting businesses with their target demographic in a more authentic way.
In conclusion, the digital marketing scene in Michigan is a dynamic and ever-evolving landscape. Businesses that adapt and embrace the power of online platforms, SEO, social media, email marketing, mobile optimization, and influencer collaborations position themselves for success in the vibrant Michigan market. As the state continues to grow and innovate, a robust digital marketing strategy will be the driving force behind businesses reaching new heights and connecting with their audience in meaningful ways.

How to Become a Mob Boss: Quote episode 1 to 4
"- Mob boss is basically the CEO of an organization. And some of these organizations are very big, and some of them make an awful lot of money." (George Anastasia - Organized Crime Writer - Episode 1)
"- You have to be smart and know how to motivate and, at times, frighten people to keep them in line." (George Anastasia - Episode 1)
"- To be a successful mob boss, first of all, you have to be driven." (Ellie Honig - Former Federal Prosecutor, Southern District of NY - Episode 1)
"- From Torrio, young Capone learned these rules. Dress for success. Keep your mouth shut. And when it comes to staying on top, remember, money is power." (Narrator - Episode 1)
"- Frankie Yale taught Capone an alternate set of skills. Always show you mean business. Never get outgunned. And make sure your reputation precedes you." (Narrator - Episode 1)
"- Start with this mantra any wise businessman must follow, never pay retail." (Narrator - Episode 2)
"- Frank wanted to try to figure out, "How do I cut out the middleman to maximize my profits?" And also reduce the opportunity for a law enforcement to penetrate his organization." (Episode 2)
"- Anytime your sales volume isn't up to your full market potential, whatever the reason, you've got a problem." (Episode 2)
"- The playbook solution to this common dilemma? Become the only game in town." (Narrator - Episode 2)
"- If you corner the market, you have control over the market. You can charge whatever the hell you want." (Emily Sweeney - Reporter, Boston Globe - Episode 2)
"- But how do you make sure customers come to you to get their fix? It starts with marketing. Like most organizations, you have a product, you give it a brand name. So you want people to look for your brand. You have to make sure your brand is good. But clever branding only goes so far. It's what's in the package that counts." (Narrator - Episode 2) "- Frank stamped his "Blue Magic," and it was the best drop you could buy. Frank made sure his production line was in the hands of a true expert. The manufacturing genius he called Red Top." (Episode 2)
"- But to truly corner the market, Frank needed something else. A solid retail strategy. Studying police behavior, Frank notices a key pattern. At 4:00 p.m. daily, cops on the early shift leave their posts. But the night shift doesn't take over until 5:00. Frank instructs his lieutenants to hit the streets hard during this golden hour. While Frank monitors his crew's customer service by cruising through Harlem undercover." (Narrator - Episode 2)
"- If anybody slips up, there's hell to pay. But when your product sells this well, sometimes all you have to do is sit back and enjoy. This is why the crime gods invented money laundering. Ready to turn dirty money into clean cash? While techniques vary, they mostly follow the same basic steps. Step one. Placement. Create a legitimate business with a bank account where you can park your illicit profits, like a car wash or a strip club. Step two. Layering. Use complex transactions to separate the money from its illegal source. For example, buy gold. Cash it in. Then send that money from one international bank account to another to make it even harder to trace. Or sink the proceeds into assets like luxury cars, jewelry, or real estate. Then sell them again. Bringing us to step three. Integration. Invest your freshly-laundered dough into the legitimate financial system to keep the taxman off your trail. Voilà! Your dirty drug money is now clean as a whistle." (Narrator - Episode 2)
"- Everything's money. This is America." (Episode 2)
"- But when your core product is high-grade heroin, the happy days probably won't last forever. If you want to build your business to last, you need a strategy that can adapt to all market conditions. Frank used a multipronged approach to address this problem. Starting with a PR campaign. He thought doing things for the community would be an effective way of protecting himself and his entreprise. Loaning money to people. Not worrying about if you got it paid back. Taking care of people. So he kept a community on his side. He also made sure to take care of an even more important demographic. Cops. Frank spent a lot of money paying off police. Having the police on the take means being able to walk down the street and not worry about being locked up. It means knowing that you're gonna have a supply of drugs coming in safely without being interdicted by the police. But as many mob bosses discover, acts of generosity can leave some men in blue wanting more. But the early '70s, Frank Lucas has moved his family to a quiet house in the suburbs. But when you inhabit the criminal life, business has a way of following you home. Today, Frank is met by a unwanted visitor, a corrupt NYPD detective he comes to call Babyface. He orders Frank to pay him 10'000 cash a month. Or he'll shut down Frank's operation for good. Frank doesn't see any real options. But then Harlem's top drug boss makes one last transaction. Frank joined America's team and made a business decision to cooperate to reduce that jail time. As a businessperson, looking out for himself, he made the right decision for himself. Even if it meant turning on his own brother. That type of betrayal is it's hard to deal with sometimes. What can I say? It's just business." (Narrator - Episode 2)
"- But when you're a mob boss looking to consolidate your power, you look at human emotions differently. Mob bosses rule by fear. It's the best weapon. Ant there's one tested method for putting this spine-tingling tool to work. To make people understand fear, you have to perform violence." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- If you are able to say, "I can kill you, I can kill your wife, I can kill your daughter, don't fuck with me"... you become a very powerful person." (Episode 3)
"- Nobody demonstrated this lesson as effectively as Sicily's boss of bosses, Salvatore "Toto" Riina. But he was mainly known for this astonishing figure. He is thought to have authorized between 800 and 1'000 killings. Secrecy was one of his weapons, and it built up his mystique within the Mafia. This kind of ghost figure that could be anywhere and might be listening to you as you spoke. He didn't need a luxurious lifestyle. He didn't care about that stuff, but what he did care about was power. One of the things that Riina is supposed to have said is, "Comandare é meglio che fottere," which mean, if I can use plain English "Being boss is better than fucking." (Alexander Stille- Author, Excellent cadavers - Episode 3)
"- That's why as a mob boss, you'll sometimes have to kill more than the story." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- By the early '80s, Riina was dead set on increasing his power within the Sicilian Mafia. But he faced a stubborn obstacle. Something called the Commission. The Mafia Commission, also called the Cupola, is a governing body of sorts of the Mafia. It was made up of the head boss of the different families. It was a way of collaborating to make sure that business stayed on track. Riina begins to sit in the Commission in about 1969 but begins to have ambitions of domination. Riina's modest goal, force the Commission to name him Capo dei Capi, the Boss of Bosses. But there was one small problem. That position didn't exist. He believed that he should have absolute power. He did not want to share. So Riina decided to turn the job he had into the job he wanted. The Beast's plan, destroy his top rivals' organizations from within. It starts by making secret side deals. In return, they do Riina's dirty work for him... taking out their bosses and filling the ranks with mafiosi loyal to Riina." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- It's very important for a mob boss to be the guy holding the strings over lawmakers because it allows them to expand their control and their rule." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- Killing Dalla Chiesa showed, "We can take out anyone, and we will kill you if you get into our business." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- If you're gonna harm your enemies, make sure you do it complete, so they can never come after you." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- There's a word for when you've got nothing left to lose, freedom." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- The message is, "If you mess with us, we don't care how high we have to go, we don't care how protected you are, we will kill you." (Narrator - Episode 3)
"- Aniello Dellacroce, who was the underboss of the Gambino family, became a mentor for Gotti." (Michael Franzese - Former Capo, Colombo Crime Family - Episode 4)
"- This is not about diplomacy. This is about an iron fist." (Episode 4)
"- No matter what organization you're looking to lead, you have to respect its structure. That's especially true with the Italian Mafia, also known as Cosa Nostra. In Cosa Nostra, There's a pecking order. At the top, you have your boss. Under the boss, you have your underboss. Then you have your consigliere, which is basically the advisor or the counselor. Then you have your captains. That's sort of your mid-level managers. And then you have your soldiers. Those are the made guys. Beyond that, you have associated. They're not made members of the group, but they're people who work with and contribute to the mob. In the American Mafia, you can't kill a fully initiated or made guy in your family, without getting permission from your boss. You can't whack a made guy in another family without getting permission from your boss and the boss of the other family. And if you want to clip your own boss, good luck. You need approval from the Commission. Basically, the Mafia board of directors. The rules were clear." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- John Gotti needed to make his case through the proper channels, but he decided otherwise. He said, "Do it. Fuck it." We knew we couldn't get permission from this thing. Bosses want to protect each other in the Commission, so we formed this alliance which we called The Fist. So, there was five of us, and there was nobody saying no. It was just a time and a place." (Episode 4)
"- Smart mobsters don't want attention on themselves from law enforcement, from the media, from the public. They know that what they're doing is illegal, and attention can only hurt their bottom-line goal, which is to make money." (Ellie - Episode 4)
"- If you're gonna be out there and be flashy, you're going to embarrass law enforcement. So now we're gonna double down." (Lou - Episode 4)
"- When somebody develops this hubris is they make mistakes. Because they are operating under this false belief that nothing can touch me." (Joni Johnson - Forensic Psychologist and Private Investigator - Episode 4)
"- John Gotti was an egotistical narcissist who appeared to revel in the attention that he was getting from the press and from the public. And the more he got, the more he wanted." (Ed - Episode 4)
"- He's called the Dapper Don. Whoever named him the Dapper Don should have came down and talked to him. The reporter. He would've paid that guy $ 100'000 for that label. He loved those labels. I mean, you couldn't make that stuff up." (Sammy - Episode 4)
"- He operated in front of the cameras. He made himself into a celebrity, into a "front page of the tabloid" figure." (Ellie - Episode 4)
"- The Commission hired Sicilian mobsters to have Gotti killed. They put a bomb in the wrong car. Were it not for a little operator error, Gotti's ego would have cost him his life." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- To be in this life, you have to be willing to go to prison, because at some point, you're gonna get caught. So make sure your time in government custody is productive." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- RICO is the worst law they ever put on the books. It's Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, and it's an all-encompassing law. It's very hard to defend." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- You'd have to be a complete imbecile to be talking about a boss behind his back. He's got the ultimate power over your life, whether you live or die." (Sammy - Episode 4)
"- You know, that's a treacherous life. Dissension is created, and mistrust is created when something like that happens. Now, your own men are questioning that and worried about themselves. You know? What, am I next? That's what happens when you take your eye off the ball. You get a crew full of killers doubting your leadership." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- The code in the American Mafia is silence. Don't talk about a murder that's committed. Don't talk on your phones. Don't talk indoors. Don't talk in your car. Everything's about keeping your mouth shut. The Mafia calls this code Omerta." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- When you take the oath of Omerta, you're taking an oath to never admit that the life ever exists and to never betray the life. That's the oath. For a mafioso to break Omerta is tantamount to betraying your family, everything you know, everything you love." (Micheal - Episode 4)
"- It brings more notoriety to him. It legitimizes him. And it's getting turned around on the government that John Gotti is an innocent guy what works for a plumbing company. And they don't like him because he's in the public's eye." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- The government was jealous of him because he was winning." (Renee)
"- In the end, Gotti did achieve the attention he always wanted. I think John Gotti represented people's frustrations with the government. How the government's always nickel-and-diming you, and John Gotti's fighting the government." (Lou)
"- Basically, Gotti was an example of how not to be a mob boss." (Narrator - Episode 4)
"- If you want fame, go become a fucking actor, or whatever you want to be, but don't be a mob boss." (Sammy - Episode 4)
"- Nobody tackled this challenge as creatively as Boston's most legendary mob boss, Whitey Bulger, whose ruthless attention to detail charted his path to infamy and then pulled a disappearing act for the ages." (Narrator - Episode 4)

Turning a Product Recall Into a Brand Triumph
Tumblr media
In the fast-paced world of tech, innovation is celebrated, but mistakes can be just as high-profile. For one successful smartphone company, a product recall seemed destined to be a nightmare. Their latest smartphone model, which was selling exceptionally well, was found to have a battery defect that posed a fire risk. The issue hit the news quickly, and customers and media alike began raising questions about the brand’s commitment to safety.
The company’s CEO knew the recall could severely damage the brand’s reputation. Aware of how public perception could turn quickly, he called an emergency meeting with the PR team to determine the best approach. Taking inspiration from 9FigureMedia, a PR firm renowned for its bold yet ethical strategies, he decided to use transparency as a foundation for tackling the issue. Instead of deflecting blame or minimizing the issue, they would focus on honesty and taking accountability.
The company swiftly issued an apology to customers, detailing the exact nature of the problem and explaining their plan of action. They initiated a recall and offered customers free replacements or repairs. To ensure their response reached a wide audience, they posted updates on all their social media channels and even held a press conference. At the press conference, the CEO gave a genuine, heartfelt apology, admitting that they had failed to meet the highest standards but were determined to make things right.
They didn’t stop there. Recognizing the public’s desire for transparency, the CEO opened up the company’s quality assurance process to media and consumers alike. Reporters were invited to tour their facilities, observe the new safety measures, and even interview the engineers responsible for making improvements. This level of transparency showed that the company was fully committed to learning from its mistakes and taking preventative steps. It became clear that they were willing to invest in safety and were focused on consumer trust over quick profits.
Surprisingly, the approach worked wonders. Instead of facing backlash, the company was lauded for taking responsibility and handling the issue with professionalism and openness. Customers who had been initially upset were impressed by the brand’s dedication to safety and integrity, and some even expressed renewed loyalty. The media coverage, initially negative, turned positive, as articles shifted to praise the brand’s transparent and consumer-focused approach.
Through honesty, accountability, and decisive action, the company managed to turn a potentially brand-damaging event into a triumph. Taking a page from 9FigureMedia’s playbook on authentic PR strategy, they rebuilt customer trust and loyalty, emerging stronger and more respected than before. What could have been a nightmare had, through careful handling and a commitment to ethical practices, become an opportunity to reinforce the brand’s reputation as one that genuinely values its customers.

Is a Digital Marketing Company Worth It? Here’s the ROI
Tumblr media
In today’s digital-first world, businesses of all sizes are wondering whether investing in a digital marketing company is worth the cost. With a rapidly changing online landscape, it’s easy to see why this question comes up. After all, managing digital marketing in-house is tempting, but many soon find that the expertise and tools needed to achieve meaningful results are substantial.
Let’s dive into how a digital marketing company adds value and the return on investment (ROI) you can expect from a professional team by your side.
Digital Marketing Company in Coimbatore
1. The Value of Expertise and Specialized Knowledge
One of the primary benefits of working with a digital marketing company is access to a team of experts who are up-to-date with industry trends, algorithms, and best practices. From SEO specialists and content strategists to social media managers and pay-per-click (PPC) experts, digital marketing firms offer a well-rounded team that most businesses cannot replicate in-house.
ROI Impact: Reduced risk of mistakes and missed opportunities. A skilled team can implement strategies correctly from the start, ultimately saving you time and money and amplifying your marketing efforts.
2. Advanced Tools and Technology
A digital marketing company has access to powerful marketing tools, software, and platforms that can streamline campaign management and provide data insights that lead to more effective strategies. Many of these tools are prohibitively expensive for small to mid-sized businesses but are essential for maximizing ROI.
ROI Impact: Improved targeting, performance tracking, and data analysis that can help to optimize campaigns continuously, ensuring your marketing budget is used efficiently.
3. Improved Focus on Core Business Functions
Managing a digital marketing campaign requires significant time and focus, taking your attention away from other critical aspects of running a business. By outsourcing these tasks to a dedicated agency, you and your team can concentrate on core functions like product development, customer service, and operations.
ROI Impact: Increased productivity and growth within your business, as you’re able to focus on areas that directly impact revenue while a trusted team handles marketing.
Digital Marketing Company in Coimbatore
4. A Faster Path to Results
Digital marketing companies have a proven playbook and tested strategies to help businesses succeed. With their expertise, they can implement campaigns that deliver results faster and more efficiently than if you were to tackle it on your own. From quicker website traffic boosts to improved customer acquisition rates, agencies can accelerate your marketing progress.
ROI Impact: Shortened learning curve and quicker campaign execution, leading to faster sales growth and brand visibility.
5. Scalability and Flexibility
When your business grows or needs change, a digital marketing company can quickly adjust strategies, scale up campaigns, or pivot approaches to suit new goals. This flexibility can be invaluable in adapting to market shifts and seasonal changes.
ROI Impact: A flexible strategy that supports sustainable growth and adapts to your business needs, ensuring consistent returns without the hassle of hiring or training an in-house team.
6. Data-Driven Decision Making
Data is the backbone of successful digital marketing. Agencies analyse the performance of every campaign, website interaction, and conversion to fine-tune strategies over time. With data insights, they continuously optimize campaigns, leading to better targeting and a higher ROI.
ROI Impact: Data-backed decisions lead to more effective targeting and optimized campaigns, which translates to better customer engagement, conversion rates, and sales.
7. Cost Efficiency and ROI
Finally, let’s talk about direct financial returns. While hiring an agency involves a cost, it’s important to consider the benefits: reduced trial and error, higher conversion rates, and increased revenue over time. An experienced agency will build and execute strategies that align with your business goals and optimize your budget for maximum impact.
ROI Impact: Higher-quality leads, more conversions, and sustained brand growth—all while staying within budget.
Digital Marketing Agency in Coimbatore
Conclusion: Is It Worth It?
The answer for most businesses is yes—partnering with a digital marketing company is a worthwhile investment. With their knowledge, tools, and data-driven approach, agencies can transform a digital presence into a powerful growth engine, delivering results that are challenging to achieve independently.Ultimately, the ROI of working with a digital marketing company extends beyond direct financial returns.
