Bast adopts Twin Greek Deities + 1 Demigoddess
Just a random piece of crack I just thought of:
Artemis tries to stop Zeus from turning Apollo mortal. She also gets sent to Earth as a mortal as punishment. The injured, traumatized teenage ex-gods get Meg McCaffrey as their “master,” but while they are trying to get to Percy Jackson’s house they take a wrong turn and end up near the 21st Nome.
The Egyptian cat goddess Bast is hanging around in cat form, sees them, and seeing their injured, bedraggled forms, her Mama Cat instincts are activated and she basically adopts them. The four of them end up going on a nearly year-long adventure so Artemis and Apollo can free the Oracles and regain their Divinity, with frequent side-trips on the Egyptian side of things.
By the time they defeat Python and the Twin Archers regain their Divinity, Bast has been named “Second Mom” by the Twins and Meg, and she decides to start a custody war with Zeus and Demeter.

A hell of a week last week. Two "last minute" court hearings for the purpose of the bio-mom's reunification process. This is the part where she's being given the chance to show that the living arrangements she has for the boys is suitable and will continue to be so. Which means Michael and I have to let her take them overnight for multiple nights in a row.
This is the schedule.....
(Keep in mind, "Father" refers to Michael and myself.... I'm the stepmother. )
Tumblr media
The Judge made it a point to make sure the boys were with us on their first day of school, Monday the 11th. (Levi is going into 1st and Lucas is starting kindergarten.) The Judge also told her very sternly that "These boys WILL NOT be late for school once or miss a single day while under your watch." And, of course, as usual, she whined and complained about how far it is to drive them to school (bitch, you chose to move that far away)
With that said... notice how her first school day with the boys is a Friday?...
Michael offered let her come get them Thurs night so they could have extra time with her and an extra full night in her home. But no.... she wants me to be the one responsible for getting them to school on time Friday morning so that she doesn't get in trouble for being late. I just want that on record that's really the main reason I mentioned this part of the story.
Because as disruptive as this little schedule is for the boys, it's really just a tactic for the judge to test this woman to see if she's really willing to put in the effort necessary to redeem herself with the children whose lives she basically stole because she chose drugs over them.
And that first Friday morning was the very beginning of her test to see if she can actually be responsible enough for getting them to school on time which is why the judge made it such a big deal. But from the get-go... no... not just from the get-go but in advance, she is already preemptively making excuses.
But you know what that's okay because I will rise to this challenge just like I have every other one. Michael and I will continue to very obediently be the ones to pick up the ball every time she drops it. In the end all I want is for the boys to have a safe, happy, stable life where they can look back on memories of Happiness not fear. This is is not a competition between us and her. I don't want her to go away. I don't want to take her children away from her. I need her as a reliable babysitter, at very least. I did not come here to take her place. I cannot do this all by myself and I refuse to be deprived of my own children just to pick up her Slack. I need her to get her shit together so that we can create a successful co-parenting situation for these kids.
I just cannot understand why making sure that these boys, later on in life, look back and see that we really stepped up for them is not on her list of priorities
Anyway that's my update/rant whatever.
Also, my cat Feckles died, and Michael's father has just been placed in hospice care so there's that.
It's okay, I've got a thousand beautiful things to be grateful for and Bigger things have tried to break me and they failed. Like the headline says, "this is just an outlet" and I'm just documenting for future reference.
Be good to yourself and those around you. It's just better that way.

I hesitate to wade into this mess because it's frankly not my divorce to get worked up about, but here goes. We should always be aware of sexist media narratives, still, maybe it's my own childhood talking but it's depressing to see so many people eagerly wishing for a blood bath in this custody case between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas for the sake of entertainment. No one "wins" in these kinds of cases least of all the children, so for their sake, I hope they can come to an agreement that is healthy and fair.

Custody Battles and Parental Alienation: Legal Insights and Solutions
Tumblr media
Navigating custody battles and parental alienation can be emotionally and legally complex. At Bourlon Law Firm PC, we offer comprehensive legal insights and solutions to help families resolve these challenging situations with sensitivity and expertise.
The Dynamics of Custody Battles
Custody battles often arise during divorces or separations when parents cannot agree on the custody arrangements for their children. Various factors, including disagreements over parenting styles, financial issues, or unresolved emotional conflicts can fuel these battles. Our legal team understands the delicate nature of these disputes and works to protect the best interests of the children involved.
Recognizing Parental Alienation
Parental alienation occurs when one parent undermines the child's relationship with the other parent, often through manipulation or negative influence. This harmful behavior can have long-term effects on the child's well-being and the parent-child relationship. Our attorneys are well-versed in identifying and addressing cases of parental alienation to promote healthy family dynamics.
Legal Strategies for Custody Battles
In custody battles, having a solid legal strategy is essential. Our firm employs a range of legal tactics, including mediation, negotiation, and litigation when necessary, to achieve favorable outcomes for our clients. We prioritize amicable resolutions whenever possible but are prepared to vigorously defend our client's rights in court when needed.
Solutions for Parental Alienation
Resolving parental alienation requires a nuanced approach that prioritizes the child's well-being while addressing the underlying issues causing the alienation. Our attorneys collaborate with mental health professionals and family counselors to develop effective strategies for combating parental alienation and restoring healthy parent-child relationships.
Child-Centered Approach
Our approach to custody battles and parental alienation is centered around the well-being of the child. We prioritize creating parenting plans that promote healthy relationships and provide stability for children during and after the legal process. Our goal is to minimize the impact of conflict on children and help parents foster positive co-parenting relationships.
Collaborative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution
In addition to traditional litigation, we offer collaborative law and alternative dispute resolution methods for resolving custody disputes and addressing parental alienation. These approaches emphasize cooperation and communication, allowing families to reach mutually beneficial agreements outside of court whenever possible. Our attorneys are trained in these methods and can guide clients through the process effectively.
Post-Divorce Support and Modifications
Our services extend beyond initial custody agreements. We assist clients in post-divorce matters, including modifications to custody arrangements or enforcement of court orders. If circumstances change or issues arise after the initial resolution, our firm is prepared to provide ongoing support and legal representation to protect our client's rights and interests.
Advocacy and Education
At Bourlon Law Firm PC, we are advocates for our clients and proponents of education and awareness regarding custody battles and parental alienation. We offer resources, workshops, and seminars to empower parents with knowledge and strategies for navigating these challenges proactively. By promoting education and understanding, we aim to reduce the prevalence of contentious custody disputes and promote healthier family dynamics.

I like how the trailer shows us that people will try to symbolically tie Jinx and Vander together.
Tumblr media
But Jinx goes out of her way to wear Silco themed clothes. Look at her wearing a SHARK hoodie with the Eye of Zaun design on it.
Tumblr media
She really said that narrative can kick rocks, Silco's her favorite dad.
(Look at the little fin on the back of the hood)!
