Two years ago I would have never posted a picture of myself wearing this new @smashtess Harris Hoodie romper. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have worn it for the simple worry of walking by a mirror and accidentally seeing my stomach. Society has taught me to wear things that cover the parts of myself I am the most insecure about. I truly thought that in doing so, I was showing my body love, protecting it from mean comments and uncomfortable stares. It’s taken a long time but I’ve come to realize that the best form of self love for me is to wear the things that make me feel good, wear the things that feel comfortable, wear the things that show every part of my plus size body because quite frankly I have nothing to hide. This is me, stomach and all. So, it is with confidence that I share my absolute favourite new loungewear piece, the soon to be released (it’s coming this Thursday!) @smashtess Harris Hoodie in the colour ‘Pretty Pink’. Not only is it, quite honestly, the most comfortable thing I have ever worn (seriously the material is buttery soft), it hugs every single one of my curves making me feel sexy. It’s not an easy path letting go of insecurities that have been building up for years, but in the end being able to see a picture of yourself you may have once hated and feel nothing but love and acceptance is worth all of the struggles to get there.
