Thought of the day:

Does Wild's era have magical take-out containers?

Ngl this has been on my thoughts before totk even came out, and only solidified since then. It all started from a funny theory trying to explain how Wild's consistently getting random dishes as rewards out in the middle of nowhere(yk, when you save some npcs from monsters).

Now some of those dishes are made to be carried, sure; rice balls and bread and pies and the likes. But there's also some fancy dishes that came from dealing with tougher enemies, and while it's nice to get something better, it makes no sense that a traveller far from any cook pots is just casually hauling a big bowl of curry with them.

Unless they have something to hold it conveniently, of course. Something that's fairly common and easily accessible, to the point that everyone treats it as normal. Maybe simply some sort of watertight box, maybe some simple spell that everybody knows.

Then totk come out, and we all get to play gacha balls with the capsules and-

Conveniently, the Zonai stuff exists far before the Sheikh stuff in botw, and there's strong suggestions that the Sheikh learned a lot from the Zonai tech, so it is possible that while they didn't find a way to manufacture the devices inside the capsules, they found a way to easily reproduce the capsules themselves, maybe even as a predecessor or prototype of the digital storage they have going on in the Sheikh slate. A way to group similar enough materials and stack them together, while still allowing each piece to be taken out individually? And while the magical slate didn't get popularized, the capsule treatment did. Centuries later it has not just become common knowledge, but also gets refined enough that anyone can use it.

Idk, I just love pondering the tech tree in loz games.

anything you recently played or watched: i've been reading/watching one piece depending on how busy i was. when i was making my mom's bday card, i was watching (dub) because i needed to fold origami. i'm currently chapter 699 of one piece. i'll probably catch up by the end of the week. i finished totk and also all of ai: somnium nirvana initiative. it's not as good as the first game (totk is everything i wanted in a sequel), and i have some qualms about certain characters (kizuna and lien). but the gameplay was fun and i enjoyed that. just sad that the story was weak. way weaker than the first game.

anything you want to play or watch: i have a list of anime i want to watch but i usually watch everything with my partner LOL. they're currently on a trip so our shows are on hold. i want to watch csm (heard good things and also i want to talk to joseph about it). i also want to play story of seasons since i've been seeing fun things from june.

that shrine that's guarded by one of those eye hand monsters (literally why are those mfs so fucking creepy they scare the shit out of me) and i managed to kill it (anything dies if you throw grenades at it long enough) but then ganon shows up (????) and kos me and my four (4) hearts in one hit so i go and cheat and climb past the fucking ravine and then inside the shrine you just get the reward bc the monster is supposed to be the trial gameplay-wise shdjejdbrhrb
