you and rafe had been together forever, and everybody knew it.

everyone knew that you were his girlfriend, and he was your boyfriend.

you two were perfect together.

you went on yacht trips on his family’s boat, shopping excursions to the mainland, and you both attended every party that the outer banks had to offer.

another party came, so naturally you went with rafe.

you arrived with him, and began drinking and dancing the night away as he subtly pulled down your dress from behind you.

you had been there for around 30 minutes, when you realized you had lost him in the crowd at some point in time.

you already were a bit drunk, and kinda needy at this point. so, you needed rafe. desperately.

you stumbled along the crowded halls of the mansion, accidentally opening a few sex-filled rooms a long the way.

you finally came to the end of the hall, opening the door.

you froze.

behind it, was rafe. which should have calmed you down.

but the sight made you want to run away from the whole situation.

he was sitting in the laundry room, his head down as he snorted a line of white powder off the laundry machine.

you guessed you let out a small noise of shock, because his head raised.

the look on his face, was nothing but one of shock. of fear. of shame.

he wiped his nose, quickly standing up from the chair.

you backed away a little, not able to find the will to speak right now.

he spoke to you.

“oh, fuck— god, baby. it’s not what it looks like, okay. c’mere.”

he attempted to approach you, but you only backed away. you didn’t know what to say, or do, or think.

all you could think of, was that you just witnessed your sweet boyfriend doing a line of coke.

you finally found it in you to speak.

“what— what was that, rafe? what were you doing?”

he took hold of your wrists, not allowing you to move. he avoided your eyes, his pupils blown out.

he spoke.

“nothin’, baby. don’t worry about it. just calm down, okay. listen to me.”

you nodded slowly, afraid of who he would become while he was on drugs like this.

he spoke again.

“let’s just— go home. i think it’s time for you to go home.”

you shook your head, rather quickly. you didn’t want to go. you wanted to be with him. you didn’t mean to see that sight, it wasn’t like you wanted too.

you spoke.

“‘no— please, rafe. i wanna stay. please, it’s fine.”

he grunted, shaking his head.

“no. you’re goin’ home, okay? just listen to me for once, god.”

you frowned. his words got so much meaner, and you could only blame it on the drugs coursing through his body.

he took a bit too tight hold of your arms, leading you towards the door, then to his car.

you got in, too scared to protest staying at the party anymore.

you were scared. very, very scared. you’d never seen rafe like this in all the years you’d known him.

he turned the car on, sloppily pulling out of the driveway.

he sped all the way home, his car going well over the speed limit.

you were frozen, and silent with fear the whole car ride.

you wanted him to slow down, but you were much too fearful to say anything to his face right now.

he arrived at your house, letting out a gruff noise that only told you to get out.

you reluctantly opened your mouth, and spoke.

“rafe, we can— we can talk about it. please? can we talk about it?”

he scoffed, rolling his eyes. he finally looks at your eyes, and you saw nothing in them. nothing but his dilated pupils. usually, you’d seen a hint of love or admiration in his eyes.

there was nothing.

he spoke, harshly.

“just— shut the fuck up. got it? get out. now.”

you sucked in a shaky hiss at his mean words, nodding and opening the door of his car, hopping out.

usually, he’d have the common decency to walk you to the door and say hi to your parents.

as you walked to the door, you heard him speed off. not even bothering to see if you got in okay.

you felt tears prick your eyes, as you rushed upstairs. avoiding the words of your parents.

you showered, and changed. finally sitting down in your bed.

you were so worried, so confused.

where did he go? did he get there okay? what was he doing in that room?

you thought about sending him a text or two, but deciding to drop the idea when the memory of his blunt words came in your head.

you took a shaky breath, rolling over and clutching the stuffy that rafe had gotten for you a while back.

you had many questions.

how could he just dismiss you like that? and treat you so much different then he usually did?

you hated what he had done. hated what you had witnessed. hated what he said to you.

but yet, you couldn’t quite find it in you to hate him.

you loved him, with everything you had in you.

and he had been hiding half his life away from you.

you let your tears soak the plush animal, as you let every bad thought consume your mind.

before you finally, succumbed to a deep slumber.

You know what kind of DiaLuci fic I’m in the mood for rn?

A superhero au but more like Henry Danger than Marvel.

Diavolo as Ray/Captain Man, Mammon as Kid Danger/Henry, Levi first finding out who Kid Danger is then Satan (Ik Satan is smart but I kinda want Levi to be the first to find out cuz I’m in love with Mammon and Levi being as one of the best brother duos) and Lucifer as Henry’s mom (but instead of being married, he was engaged for a few months before finding out his fiancÉ (one e, not two) was cheating) 🤭

Diavolo and Mammon first meeting each other being the same as Henry Danger but changing it up a little with the fake job/shop. Mammon is still in high school, Lucifer is an adult (obviously) Barbatos obviously being the one to alert Diavolo about the crimes and looking out for the lair, Lucifer doesn’t know who is under the mask but finds the man kinda attractive (having a crush on him only after he ended his engagement), maybe sneak a little sex scene between Diavolo (as a hero) and Lucifer, but of course, Lucifer is oblivious to Mammon’s actual job.

Only reason I’m in the mood for it is bc I’m currently watching Henry Danger and I’m literally on season 1 💀 just cuz of an edit on TikTok got my interest and then wanting to see the scenes with Henry’s mom and Ray/Captain Man (and his crush on her cuz it’s just somewhat funny to me)

Ok but like, out of genuine curiosity, am I the only one who gets so inspired by a show/movie I’m currently watching and just wanting to make a DiaLuci version out of it??

Supernatural, The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Outer Banks, Superman (Tom Holland), Jurassic World (where Lucifer is Claire, Diavolo as Owen, and the two boys as Mammon and Levi, the others are with Simeon back home), and a lot more that I can’t even think of them all rn.

I have so many DiaLuci fics in my notes but I haven’t even finished a single one, not even the first chapter 💀 I think there’s one that has been sitting in my notes since (late??) 2022. i definitely want to read the “sci fi is better when it’s low budget” essay!

Okokok gonna put this under a readmore so I don’t annoy my followers also it may be slightly controversial:

so I have many Thoughts but they basically all boil down to the idea that the majority of modern sci fi cgi films are both over rendered and under designed. Like every single scene is always stuffed chock full of a lot of grit and dust or random colorful flashing lights, and I’m not totally sure if this is a stylistic choice or a symptom of the limitations of cgi since it’s sometimes easier to cover up weird seams and stuff with fancy effects, but Either way it totally ignores basic rules of composition and design in favor of just mashing a whole bunch of visual elements together in a way that might be striking the first time you see it but gets super boring after the ten thousandth scene you’ve watched that looks exactly like it. I feel like it’s also kinda driven by this obsessive aversion to hokeyness and a dedication to Gritty Realism™️ by people who want to make it seem like they’re working in a Serious Genre™️. But it’s not serious!! It’s adventures in outer space!!!!! & imo the visuals should reflect that. Give me color!! Weird outfits!!! Impractical interior design!!!!! And MOST of all a strong visual identity that doesn’t look like every other goddamn sci fi out there. And I’m not saying that good visuals CANT be accomplished with cgi, or that it’s not used well in certain circumstances. It’s just that the movies/shows that are actually given the budget for cgi (bc lbr it’s fuckin expensive- discovery has a budget of $8mil/episode)- arent going to use that money to take creative risks bc capitalism is the death of art etc etc. So yes I do genuinely think that TOS with its styrofoam props and cheesy practical effects is more visually compelling than any trek that came after it... cause like. Yea it’s ugly. But it’s ugly in its own very special way ❤️ and I think a genre with as many possibilities as sci fi should be way more visually diverse than what we’re currently seeing. There’s also the argument that cgi allows filmmakers to bank on the Big Climactic Space Fight Scene to sell the movie as opposed to like, an airtight script and interesting character development/relationships, though I’m just a lowly visual artist who only watches things for Pretty Pictures so I’m not going to get into that rn. But anyway I’d like to hear your guys thoughts on this/ whether you have any visually impressive sci fi to recommend to me bc I am Starving lmao💕🖖💚

First Ship: i joined tumblr in 2017 for BoTW Zelink and all of my fandom experience spiralled from here. i started playing LoZ games before that though, maybe 2008? and there was a fanfic tab (though it wasn't called like that) on the help website i used

Currently Reading: book wise, I just finished The Two Towers (and am not so patiently awaiting Return of the King to, well, return to the library so i can borrow it)

Currently Watching: Once Upon A Time (nearly done with S1)

Currently Eating: waiting for my dinner to cook (ratatouille and semolina and eggs)

Currently Craving: CHEESE. my kingdom riches gratitude for a scrap of french cheese!!!!
