7 Effortlessly Cool Shag Haircuts to Try This Season
In the world of hairstyles, trends come and go, but some classics always find their way back into the limelight. One such style making a triumphant return is the effortlessly cool shag haircut. This timeless look is versatile, edgy, and perfect for adding volume and texture to any hair type. Let's explore seven variations of the shag haircut that are sure to turn heads and breathe new life into your locks.
The Classic Shag: The epitome of the shag haircut, the classic version exudes a rock-and-roll vibe with its layered, choppy texture. Whether you're looking to make a bold statement or simply add some edge to your style, this option suits all hair types and lengths, making it a go-to choice for those craving a versatile and rebellious look.
The Bob Shag: Shorter hair doesn't mean sacrificing style, especially with the bob shag. Ideal for those with thinner hair, the layers of this haircut work wonders in providing volume and texture. Not only is it easy to style and maintain, but it also adds a contemporary twist to the classic bob, offering a fresh take on a timeless silhouette.
The Long Shag: For those reluctant to part with their length but still yearning for a shaggy transformation, the long shag is the perfect compromise. Featuring cascading layers that create movement and dimension, this style retains the allure of long hair while infusing it with a carefree and laid-back vibe, perfect for those seeking effortless elegance.
The Pixie Shag: Daring and bold, the pixie shag is a short, choppy style that exudes confidence and edge. Offering a low-maintenance yet striking look, this haircut is a statement in itself, ideal for showcasing bold makeup or accessorizing with statement jewelry, making it a favorite among those unafraid to embrace their individuality.
The Curly Shag: Curly-haired individuals need not feel left out, as the shag haircut complements curls beautifully. By opting for a layered, shaggy cut, curls are enhanced with added bounce and movement, allowing for a natural and carefree look that celebrates the beauty of texture and volume.
The Bangs Shag: Injecting new life into your look without sacrificing length is made easy with the bangs shag. Featuring layered, choppy texture, this haircut gives bangs a relaxed and effortless vibe, perfect for those seeking a subtle yet impactful change that frames the face beautifully.
The Messy Shag: Embrace the "I woke up like this" aesthetic with the messy shag, a style that celebrates natural texture and effortless cool. By adding layers and texture, this haircut achieves a relaxed and undone look that exudes confidence and nonchalance, making it a favorite among those seeking a laid-back yet stylish appearance.

But also like: hair is a part of your body and I am not a doctor and I can sit here all day and say yeah do this try this, I don't know shit about your hair unless I experience it textilely in person. Neither does someone on Reddit you found in a Google search. It's like seeing a doctor.
#im done now.#anyway the issue isnt women wanting buzz cuts#its white boys with dirty blonde paper thin hair and their dads 3yr old bottle of h&s who dont want regular cuts or to use anything to style#but expect a haircut to magically make them not have that hair texture.#if i see one more photo of jet black thick curly hair from a 15yr old blond im gonna scream

for any/all wardens: 36
36. Did their appearance change during the game? If so, how? Did they change their hair? Did they gain any new scars?
i was about to say none of them go through super dramatic changes in appearance (aside from like.... a ton of new scars) but actually....
buzzcut diya is real, if only in her & gavin's worldstate :) she has a bit of a mental breakdown after the battle defending redcliffe village (which is all but decimated bc she doesn't use her blood magic....) she feels like the smoke from the pyre is sticking to her hair & it's just the most brutal reminder that all those deaths are her fault.
so she chops it all off! or more accurately she has leliana chop all her hair off, all while wailing that it's such a shame to cut such lovely long hair. she lets it grow back out during the blight, but never lets it get as long as it used to be. post-blight her hair reaches shoulder length at most, before the scissors come back out. it's mostly a time-saving/convenience thing afterwards tho.
warden/hof questions
#ty for the ask!#kirkwall!diya still has her long curly-ass hair. she's a little precious about it.#i'd have to concoct a scenario for her to actually think abt cutting it short let alone actually shave it off#ylva's hair changes a fair bit too once she stops styling herself as an aeducan but that's YEARS down the line#diya surana

Small delema
I'm writing a book called "where's my hair" and all the different ways people style it (specifically curly hair). One problem, I need background information on why people style their hairs and how they do it
And I want specifics. Tell me about how you shave your head until it's only an inch tall and you braid it into 5 foot strands to stand up for yourself for being told it was weird and wrong
Tell me about how you have hair so thick that the only way to maintain it is when it's impossibly short
Tell me about girlies with 4c hair that grow it out so that they can die it any color of the rainbow because they love the colors
Tell me about the pale girls with hair that just barely curls so people say they don't have curly hair.
But most importantly
Tell me your stories and reblog this so I can hear from everyone
#To cut it down short#The story is about a poc girl who realizes all the different hair styles people have#And she goes around asking why#And she doesn't get it until the end#When she asks someone with similar hair why theirs are all different#And then the lady (probably some random grandma I haven't decided) tells her about loving herself and her hair#people of color#african american#indigenous#black lives matter#childrens books#childrensliterature#writers on tumblr#writers and poets#writerscommunity#female writers#creative writing#author#Please please please#im begging#curly hair#girls with curls#curlygirl

How to Choose the Right Curly Haircut for Your Face Shape
Curly hair is a beautiful and unique hair texture that requires special attention when choosing the right haircut. The key to getting a fabulous curly hairstyle is understanding your face shape and selecting a haircut that complements your natural curls. In this blog, we will explore various curly hair styles, short curly hairstyles, and tips to choose the best curly haircut for your face shape. We'll also discuss the significance of visiting an organic hair salon, like Chilli Couture in Perth, and using the best curly hair products for maintaining your gorgeous curls.
Understanding Your Face Shape:
Before diving into specific curly haircuts, it's crucial to determine your face shape. The four main face shapes are oval, round, square, and heart-shaped. Each shape has unique characteristics that influence the best hairstyles to flatter your features. Here's a quick overview:
Oval Face: Considered the ideal face shape, an oval face has balanced proportions, making it versatile for various curly haircuts.
Round Face: Characterized by a soft and circular appearance, a round face benefits from hairstyles that add length and angles.
Square Face: Square faces have a strong jawline and equal facial width and length. Softening the features with the right haircut is essential.
Heart-shaped Face: Also known as an inverted triangle, this face shape is characterized by a wider forehead and narrower jawline. Hairstyles that balance the top and bottom are recommended.
Curly Haircuts for Different Face Shapes
Oval Face: If you have an oval face, you're in luck! Almost any curly haircut works well for you. You can experiment with different lengths and styles, such as layered bobs, shoulder-length cuts, or even long curly locks. Embrace your natural curls and opt for a cut that accentuates your best features.
Round Face: For round-faced individuals, adding height and volume on top is crucial to elongate the face. Consider a layered curly bob with volume at the crown or a side-swept fringe to create the illusion of length. Avoid short curly hairstyles that emphasize the roundness of your face.
Square Face: To soften the angles of a square face, opt for curly haircuts that add texture and movement. Try a medium-length cut with layers or loose curls that frame your face. Avoid straight, blunt cuts as they may accentuate the squareness.
Heart-shaped Face: A heart-shaped face looks fantastic with curly hairstyles that balance the forehead and jawline. Consider shoulder-length curls or a curly lob (long bob) to achieve this balance. Soft waves around the chin area can also flatter this face shape.
Visiting an Organic Hair Salon
When choosing a curly haircut, it's essential to visit a hair salon that specializes in organic and natural hair care. Regular salons often use harsh chemicals that can strip curly hair of its natural oils and disrupt the curl pattern. Organic hair salons like Chilli Couture in Perth focus on using environmentally friendly and non-toxic hair products, which can enhance the health and appearance of your curls.
Using the Best Curly Hair Products
Proper hair care is essential for maintaining curly hair's health and vibrancy. Invest in high-quality curly hair products designed to nourish and hydrate your curls. Look for sulfate-free shampoos, moisturizing conditioners, and leave-in treatments to keep your curls bouncy and frizz-free.
Conclusion
Choosing the right curly haircut for your face shape can make a significant difference in enhancing your natural beauty. Embrace your curls and opt for styles that complement your unique features. Remember to consider your face shape when selecting a curly hairstyle and seek professional advice from an organic hair salon like Chilli Couture in Perth. By using the best curly hair products and embracing your curls, you'll achieve a stunning and confidence-boosting curly hairstyle that turns heads wherever you go.

I was tagged by the lovely @ofmd-ann, @gentlebeardsbarngrill, and @daria-meoi to make this picrew with how you look and how you wish you looked. Thanks for the tag, lovelies <3!!! i'm love picrews,,,
How I Look:
How I Wish I Looked:
so i just wish i looked,,, Gayer SDKSSD. and the way i think that look is quite realistically obtainable but it would involve a major chop of hair and i am simply ✨scared✨. BUT PERHAPS ONE DAY,,,
I feel like the darlings very thoroughly tagged already, so if you see this and want to participate, tag, you're it! <3
#Mentioned#About me#the way i've been wanting to cut my hair off for YEARS#because i genuinely do not ever wear it down/do anything with it#because 1. i really don't know HOW to nicely style my type of hair#2. i really don't WANT long hair#so i just have it up all the time to be Spiritually Short HKLSJDSK#but i'm just terrified that having it short either won't look right with my facial structure#or will be even HARDER to maintain since my hair is strongly wavy/lightly curly#and i already don't really know what to do for it when it's longer soooo HJKLDHSJKLDS#but man...#i just want to be Gender so so bad#i feel like there's almost an element of dysphoria in seeing myself with long hair at this point#...BUT YOU KNOW LMAO#ANYWAYYSSSSS#OVERSHARING ON THE PICREW TAG LMAO 💃

everyone should stop saying the mullet is out in 2024 because i personally love it and it seems i have grown quite fond of it
#if i had to say i think the grown out mullet/shag will be popular and the mop top just anything that has like a grown out graduation feel#i could see the mod cut being cool just because it’s a little grown out but still squared off and clean cut#but my moneys on the mop top. jacob elordi in saltburn basically#return of the 2007#the mullet/shag being in style i have finally worn my hair continually curly every day it’s been really good#if the 90s bob has traction i’ll do that again this year i loved it#towards the end maybe like summer or late 2024#i ought to do the keanu reeves… anyway…#the shag can’t never go out of style because that has been the most rewarding for my natural hair type
