Luffy is 40 in this, so that would make Sabo 43 and Dadan 76.

I think that Sabo and Luffy still got some growing in them to go, given their genetics and also the way people grow in this show. As such, they’re both like,,, very tall in this version.

Modern AU

The Monkey D Family doesn’t celebrate Christmas per se, but they do celebrate the holiday season in their own way.

Use to, they would plan a trip to Peru and celebrate there, but recent years make the trip difficult to organize. So instead, they congregate at the family farm, which passed to Dragon once he left the Marine Corps.

It’s close quarters and it’s loud, obnoxiously so, but the food is good and there’s plenty of it to go around. The company is generally pretty good, save for the occasional awkward discussion.

Gift-giving is a very personalized thing. Crafts and treats pass hands more often than store bought things, but those happen too. They don’t discriminate. Especially when lego puts out a new piece in the insect collection and Luffy wants it more than life itself.

The only hard rule is that you don’t bring up politics because Garp and Dragon will get into it. Garp is good at picking at things without realizing it and that wears Dragon’s level-headed nature down like sandpaper.

Also, DO NOT spike the eggnog. Garp and Dragon will get white girl wasted on it in no time, and given the previous, that’s a very bad idea.

Urpi keeps the two of them in line, though. She will send both to their rooms. If Dragon was any pettier, he would tease his dad that the master bedroom is now his room, and Garp gets the guest room (formerly Dragon’s childhood bedroom).

Urpi and Dragon run the kitchen like a well oiled machine, and it’s better to steer clear if you don’t want to get subjected to the passive aggressive snappiness of a couple of perfectly in sync people getting their flow interrupted. Dadan guards the door from Garp and Luffy (and sometimes Sabo). Kuzan and Ace distract the two (sometimes three). Robin watches and enjoys the chaos. She sometimes even instigates it. Dadan allows it because seeing Garp get chased out of the kitchen by a wooden spoon wielding Urpi is funny. Dragon just bodily carries Luffy and/or Sabo out like he’s hauling a couple of wiggly hay bales.

This is very silly, I apologize~ Like many of my other doodles, this is probably an AU where Luffy has parents who raise him (at least for a while?).

I'm not good at drawing comics/ sequential art - both consistency and transitions between panels aren't my forte, but I hope you can still follow along! I also hope Dadan is somewhat recognizable in my style.

I might be coming back to this for edits to fix some of the inconsistencies since Crocodile looks different in each panel *lol*

One piece elementary au where shanks introduces Luffy to his boyfriend buggy and Luffy asks what a boyfriend is so they explain it like "it's someone you really like and you hold hands and hang out a lot and you couldn't imagine life without them"

And immediately after luffy goes "OH! I Have a boyfriend!"

And shanks is like "come again?? You have a boyfriend???!??!"

Luffy just laughs "mhm! There's Zoro, Nami, usopp, Sanji, law, kid, and koby!"

Shanks tell him that they can't possibly be his boyfriends if Luffy hasn't asked them yet and he's laughing out of relief

Luffy just pouts but the next couple days goes around asking everyone to be his boyfriends with varying degrees of success but eventually everyone agrees to be his boyfriends, with the exception of Nami who hit him and said since she's a girl it'd be girlfriend and not boyfriend but she also agrees

Luffy goes running back to shanks after that and tells him that not only does he have 6 boyfriends he also has a girlfriend

And well shanks can't really say anything now cause yeah Luffy did ask and if you ask any of the kids Luffy mentioned if they have a boyfriend they'll all say yes and that it's Luffy

When ace and Sabo find out they're annoyed but only because Luffy got a boyfriend/girlfriend before them

Also this interaction sounds funny to me so I'm writing it here

Luffy running out the house and yelling out to his brothers that he's going to his boyfriends house and ace and Sabo yell back 'which one?'

This would take place when Luffy is in middle school though

Also Valentines day was a nightmare for Dadan when Luffy was still in elementary school, Luffy would insist on handmade Valentine's cards and because he had to make them for different people he needed a bunch of different colors and supplies and not only was that expensive it was really time consuming

Also when Dadan found out he was dating a bunch of different people she yelled at him and said cheating is wrong until Luffy explained that they all knew the other people he was dating so Dadan just accepted it cause what else was she supposed to do?

Dadan also cried when Luffy came home from school on Valentine's Day and he had a bunch of chocolate and flowers and cards

dadan is the realest mom out there. she literally ran into a fire for her sons, two of which she had only known for less than a year. when she found 2/3 of her sons she IMMEDIATELY asked where the third was, and when ace was stubborn and said he wouldn’t leave without a fight, she backed him up and fought alongside him. someone get this woman a gold medal.

Fourty Eight chapters. There is now twice as many chapters in this as I thought there would be before I gave up on typing out my original outline. I just read the doc back and im glad i didnt stop it at just 24 cuz that would have sucked ass, im glad i spent 57 weeks of my life writing this silly little story.

i stopped typing up the outline because i kept adding more things in the middle of the chapter outlines and i just kept getting more and more behind.

when im done writing this story, I think i would like to live stream going through all the chapters and adding director's commentary to them. If i do I'll definitely read out my outline as well, and y'all will see why I'm not writing this story as a fan fiction.

It would be fun putting on character voices, too, i can dig it. lmk if thats something yall would be interested in. Of course we have a loooooong way to go until i finish this story still, so ah,,, yeah keep tuned
