Episode 12! Spoilers under the cut.

Are we getting living trash in this episode? Aw Cosmo and Wanda are hilarious and cute! Everyone except Dev oh that’s funny. Hazels mom started off strong until she started marketing her book to her literal child.

Overall I think Hazels dad is the more present parent so to speak and is their more for Hazel then her mom. He gives good advice and is far more concerned with her feelings than her mom is at times.

Aww sleepy Hazel making a wish oh no sleepy Cosmo and Wanda not properly granting the wish oh no. I was wondering when an “accidental wish” so to speak would come up and it feels inevitable with how commonly people say “I wish” and Cosmo and Wanda compelled to grant any of Hazels wishes. Maybe maybe Cosmo and Wanda you shouldn’t grant wishes while sleepy lolz.

Wait wait asking isn’t the default? Why did you guys wait til morning to show off said wish? Also how did trash monster know to go to her apartment? I have questions lolz.

Okay I admit I laughed when Hazel declared they were friends because of the friendship bracelet I just. It’s such a kid thing to become best friends over things like that it’s cute honestly. The sentient trash is weird but Hazel is cute at least.

Wow uh right off the gate we’ve got some emotional abuse and manipulation. It feels like the show wants to play it off for laughs but fuck his dad is uh not good to Dev at all and is already pushing him to work constantly. Like this is a ten year old. He should not be working constantly he’s a kid he needs to be able to play and have fun and be a kid. I can already see why he acts the way he does at school. I kind of assumed it was bad at home I know abused kids tend to lash out and act up at school and such but it’s just…sad seeing it play out on screen. What Dale went through was horrible yes but he is perpetrating the cycle of violence on his son which is. Not great.

I do agree he should care about the environment and get involved in school activities but the issue is Dale sees this as work and a job and that’s why he’s pushing it on Dev which is not the way to go. I kind of want to go on a rant about how the fairy godparent system has a set up kind of sets kids up for failure but that’s another post.

Sorry off my soapbox lolz. Oh uh. So he’s directly lying about his products which uh aren’t good. Sadly though environmental flags on products are not regulated last I looked into the subject so what he’s doing might not be illegal but it’s fucked up.

But also what person genuinely doesn’t question single use electronic items like seriously? Is it commentary on people buying the latest IPhone and similar products every year? Man I keep getting on my soapbox today.

If is cute that Hazel assures him that as long as they’re friends they’ll be okay. It’s a little naive but it makes sense she would see things so simply and honestly? Knowing you have friends can make bad things easier to cope with. Cosmo why do you continue to be so adorable? I just. I love them all okay?

Oh oh poor Dev that’s got to be so messed up to hear a trash can get more affection than you? Yeah he’s sentient but still. It would be a painful pill to swallow.

So much trash on the planet. So much. It’s bad. Also why is no one questioning the sentient trashcan like they have to know given how he eats trash right? I just. I have questions.

Not a bad episode overall. I loved the glimpse we got of Devs home life and hope we get to see more. I feel like they definitely hammed up the issue but maybe also not? Like trash and global warming are major issues and it’s good to see kids show at least acknowledge it. Onto Episode 13!

Truelly intrested in how Jack is doing in the timewrap, like his relationship with the gang, whats his favorite thing in this era. I know in this AU he past away just 3 years after abgail, but in some datas in the game and other theories said he lived enough to write a book; in my headcanons he should have had a friend who fought in WWI who also get very traumatised, and probably being part of one this early mafia gangs from the 1920s. When John argue with Jack about him becameing an outlaw he would just reply " at least i didn't had to go to the army and dying in a horrible way some random battlefield in a senseless war, or surviving and get traumatised for life" then Jack leave the room that got in silence, who heard that probably got curious about the war, hope they were intrested about knowing what heppended in this 100 years they were dead.

this ask has been haunting because i love jack so much. he is my boy like i just want him to be happy and get a chance to act his age and find fun and happiness. but boy his relationship with john in timewarp is so far away from good. accidentally wrote 1k words so below the cut

jack has almost no memories of the gang. he remembers being told they're not meant to discuss arthur because it upsets his father, and that if he sees 'uncle dutch' around he's meant to stay well away

it is a lot like meeting those long distance relatives who say 'wow i haven't seen you since you were 'this' tall!'

he gets along pretty well with most of them because a) he is a very polite young man and b) they're such a fun group to be around in modern era. damn straight at a cookout none of them care he is technically under modern era drinking age they see him as an adult and encourage him to be an adult in that rdr2 a quiet time style

he wishes arthur was his dad a little bit. he is constantly trying to inch his way into isaac and arthur's father son activities (which isaac encourages and arthur allows)

hosea getting to see how him teaching jack to read has become such a major part of his identity like jack is a nerdy little bookworm and how exciting they both find it when hosea ask about what jack's been reading and jack can talk to someone about books again

the silent assurance of getting to know lenny. lenny being an adult with a job and very settled into modern era with a life so far away from what he was in 1899 who died at the same age as jack. lenny is proof he can get used to modern era and settle and leave the mistakes and trauma of canon era behind in a healthy way

his favorite thing about modern era is without a doubt isaac morgan. having someone his own age who Gets It. even though they had wildly different experiences of timewarping and general lives, being the child of a VDL gang member is a very specific niche they both know too well

also just - time. not having a ranch or to hunt for food, with the gang still helping each other out so jack isn't expected to rush off and get a job all the hours that would have been spend doing ranch work jack can spend exploring his interests, reading, learning about modern era and getting into trouble with isaac but having the actual time of day required to be a kid (he is 19. he is a kid who never got to be a kid)

i think eventually they would have gotten into a screaming match. john getting sick of jack sulking in his room reading and glaring at him like it was his fault he became what he is vs jack seeing how john changed over 3 years to raise addie alone when he timewarped and how quickly abigail runs back into his arms as if john didn't leave them ruined and with nothing when he died. in timewarp au, abigail died at the end of summer 1914 and jack didn't make it to christmas of the same year.

starts with john asking what happened to jack's college fund. jack had already applied to college and gotten rejected very politely on financial grounds prior to 1911, but with the assurance he was extremely intelligent for a young man who lacked formal education.

jack began corresponding with the literature professor regularly (simply because he still craved that paternal bond and quickly came to love having someone he could actually discuss books with instead of just talking at). john began saving every cent he could to have the money tucked away to get jack into college because he always wanted his son to be happy and better than what they were.

jack laughed and said they had to use that money to survive. he wouldn't have gotten in anyway, and even if he did he couldn't leave abigail on her own.

john, maybe drunk or just too frustrated to hold back, snapped he was too smart to be that much of an idiot, he could have gone to college after abigail died and lived a normal life

jack finally losing it. what did john expect? he was going to survive the great war, and then world war ii a few decades later? forget the first 19 years of his life, survive two wars that ended or ruined millions and millions of lives, settle down with a nice wife and be old enough to watch the moon landing on a boxy black and white tv?

he only made it to 1914 and was still devastated by the war - because the literature professor, his one escape from what life was after john died, a canadian who volunteered to go fight because it was a noble cause, didn't even make it to the front line. the ship he was on sank. there wasn't a funeral or burial, just a letter that might as well have read 'any chance of salvation for you is gone'. jack learning that dying for a noble cause was just as stupid as dying for revenge, because once you're dead you're dead

jack admitting he was planning on dying anyway because what else was there the only thing killing edgar ross did was give jack the satisfaction of knowing at least one of them outlived the bastard

john not actually having the words to express he's been there and he knows what that's like, the survivor's guilt he felt over arthur's death and needing to kill micah and how sorry he is jack had to experience the exact same thing

jack still did have a book published and when he found out he was mortified. in writing to the professor over 3-4 years he'd started sending him drafts of a biographical novel heavily based on his childhood memories of the van der linde gangs and sneaking into john's room to read arthur's journal (which john held all those years). when the manuscript was found in the professor's desk, the university was impressed enough to have it published on a very small scale.

isaac morgan, who had a very bizarre morbid fascination with the idea of jack, the little cousin he never got to meet, who exists somewhere across time as simultaneously younger than him but has already reached 19 and killed edgar ross and been executed for it, stole a copy of it from the university's library when he was only 12 and has read it over a dozen times by the time jack timewarps.

jack is horrified because it was a draft and he started writing it at 15 imagine jumping 100 years into the future and finding out something you wrote unedited at 15 was not only published but considered a valuable and significant part of narrative history.

when jack is in a mood, isaac with read excerpts to him and jack will be so overtaken by cringe and trying to snatch the book off him he will forget whatever passing thought was making him depressed

General Thoughts:

WOW ok it is only one episode and i am invested. they give us great character dynamics, hints of backstory, hints of character dynamic backstory, hints of future plot points -> my cream and butter, my creme de la creme

this show hits all of my weak points. yeah, i can tell this was made early 2000s but that does nothing to hinder it. i am giggling, gasping, and sitting on the edge of my seat.

when mr. uppity shareholder man found out about his room being bugged, i was so worried because the plan was going so well and i really wanted to see this guy fall. AND THEN WHEN THE FBI CAME TO ARREST HIM??? HELLO????

but yes, very great pilot, i will watch episode 2

So I started nine sols! I have thoughts!

Minimal spoilers I think, since I only got past the first sol, but I’ll put my thoughts under the cut anyway

Ok first of all, the COMBAT!!! I love the combat!!! It’s hard for sure, and my skill issue is crazy, but that’s part of the fun. I love games that take work and practice to figure out. Kinda like hollow knight and rain world! Very difficult games where you will die a lot, but it’s fun enough to keep going. Parrying makes my heart happy. It’s about timings!! I love timings!!! There’s a lot of mechanics to figure out, but honestly that doesn’t bother me. I can learn. Just… generally, good shit.

The story is really, really interesting so far. I like Yi’s character. He’s very serious and edgy, but honestly I don’t mind that trope lol. Shuanshuan is my son now, I’ve adopted him. Move over Yi. But for real though, I also like how Yi’s big brother energy carries over to Shuanshuan. I bet my ass he sees Heng in Shuanshuan.

The human harvesting sure is… something. I was not expecting it at all. I figured getting chosen wasn’t a good thing, but seeing the villagers’ heads get ripped off was NOT at all what I expected. Like, wow! I don’t like this!

I love the first sol. I forgot his name, rip, but he’s so cute. He is very weird about humans, but idc I love him. Also his statues are so, so real. I want to give him a hug, he seems like he gives great hugs.

That being said, I figure the other sols are going to get more hostile from here. I’m like 99.999% sure Yi was once the tenth sol (I’m out here reading all the readables, I know there were once ten) so I’m curious to see how all of them react to his actions.

The game is also just so PRETTY. The art is amazing in its simplicity, and the music is incredible. I’m in love. So far this game is a 10/10 for me, and I have high hopes for the next several areas.

OOH pretty much? its a "william is a bad dad but shit happens and he realizes it early enough to fix it, or at least try" au!! plus some other drama ofc

basically william gets springlocked waaaay earlier on than in canon. he has an accident, is alone, and henry finds him too late. while henry is trying to get his body out of the suit, he wakes up and is like oh shit i died.

but he came back and he is ecstatic about that. His plan worked! he's (by all normal standards) immortal! and henry cleans him up and hes springbonnie instead of springtrap. (and of they take wills uhm. corpse out. williams rlly disturbed by it tho. henry finds that funny and they hold a funeral for william and everything and hes just. what.)

except springbon is sentient. bc springbon is my faborite. so williams got a buddy in his head! and springbon can control her own body still if she wants to! and springbon is new to parenting but she reeeeaally loves these kids

will just wants to experiment more with his newfound body and abilities and everything he can do but. without a bodyy... he cant do much off the stage unless he has the ability to walk around off of it without being in suit mode. which comes with needing to charge. and while he would totally just hook himself up to a random plug in his roomm springbon had henry cover them all with the little child proof plugs and will cant get them off bc his robot fingers r too big so if he stays in his room too long, he'll pass out (or just. power down? since hes a robot?)

so he's forced to interact with his family.

but he really does find he enjoys time away from work and his kids are not actually horrible obnoxious idiots like he'd always thoguht of them as (as a mixture of not wanting kids in the first place and being bitter that his wife is dead) and he realizes wow. this isnt so bad. he also bonds a lot more with henry and vanessa (the latter of which was just. his employee. he didnt know her well before but she's fun and helps him with maintenance when henrys busy)

in this au, Michael is 11-12, elizabeth is 7, and evan is 6! so they r pretty young. Michael does have built up resentment towards his father bc of how neglectful and cold he was, and williams like wow! that was shitty of me! mostly bc he sees howspringbonnie interacts with his kids and it vaguely reminds him of his wife. and hes like okay! time to reconcile with my kids! and while evan and liz eventually r like yeah this is cool mike is not. hes very hesitant to trust his father and doesnt liek him!!! grrr!!!! but william really wants to try!!!! try he will dammit!!!

on top of that will DID make the funtimes with the intent of experimenting with remnant but pitdad will is a wuss! he didnt make them to kill kids. he just knew remnant involved death and they were made properly to contain it, but not collect it. so basically he made machines to harvest souls without the harvesting part and jsut the souls. those blueprints and that research is concerning enough on its own tho... lets just say he wasnt on a great path and likely would've done bad things like in canon if he'd been left to his own devices. curiosity mixed with grief is a bitch and so is william afton

but the funtimes ARE sentient, and they know what they were made to do. at least circus baby does and she goes and tells everyone and they decide "yeah this place sucks lets just merge together and find a skinsuit" and that skinsuit was MEANT to be william but he. yk. has no skin anymore. his oldest son must be the second best thing, right?

also also also the missing kids are in fact missing! for other reasons tho heheheh

extra note but because of how remnant works william is TERRIFIED of fire. hes scared it'll split his soul from springbonnie so he's rllyyyy scared of fire and stuff!!!

my sister viewed the film Party Girl (1995, dir. von Scherler Mayer) last week at a party in philly and sent me this song featured in the film with no further explanation. Double Cross by First Choice (a Larry Levan remix) has what i want to call bollywood strings, a flute, and the funkiest bassline backing up some really classic disco vocals. First Choice were a group out of philly, which no one at the party knew at the time, and this blog calls this specific remix "dancefloor soul" which is probably as good a descriptor as any. i have had it on loop for a solid week. lyrics include

i read the mandalorian comics in between volumes of berserk, which feels a bit like saying i took a break from watching the evil dead franchise to watch some cocomelon.

the mandalorian comics are a remarkably uninspired nearly shot by shot breakdown of the episodes. not in the way most film/tv comics are, where they’re very clearly traced screencaps, but screenshots redrawn. this would be interesting if the artist was not contractually obliged to the very flat marvel comics style. i am constantly reminded of how the mandalorian is simply…not very good. it’s entertaining as a spectacle of television to watch, but there are not a lot of fun ideas in there. something that made me fucking scream with laughter are these panels of baby yoda

back to the other series with a dark haired, roaming, grouchy, reserved man on a mission. unfortunately i don't have a lot of berserk thoughts just yet, i am waiting on vol 4 to come off my library holds and my brain is still digesting it. anyway i think not wanting random "friendly" embraces from strangers is a very reasonable thing for guts to dislike and i truly do not understand why ppl in-universe get so fucking offended. unfortunately reading these late at night did lead to an unpleasant sleep experience.

not to be all therapeutic but im trying to be Curious About and Gently Interrogate why i get a real bee in my bonnet once a year to read some horror comics/manga when i am big squeamish baby about film depictions of those things. i think mostly bc comics gore is so much more stylized than some of the very effective practical and cgi effects? and crucially nothing is actually like writhing around on screen it’s a still image? does anyone else’s brain have a much easier time handling still images over moving images of gore? much to consider

i have viewed the first four episodes of Fire Force, the urban fantasy mercenary firefighter anime and do not think i will be continuing. while i have a great many questions about the worldbuilding (gravitational anomalies?? genetic predisposition to spontaneous human combustion?? solar god nuns??) it has a dead mom plot, which i am allergic to. this is also a 7.5-8 on the Ass part of the Weeb Ass Shit scale, and has a lot more casual assault than i try to encounter in anime. it's by the soul eater guy, remember the level of Stuff going on in soul eater? a little bit more ramped up groping and stuff that makes me say out loud "wow i don't like this" than soul eater.

the animation re: aforementioned fire is really top notch tho. visually complex and interesting television program.

also i finally bought a couch bc salvation army had 50% off everything for Labor Day. this is a question of ethics vs money i have decided for myself, and encourage you, the reader, to go off and quietly make your own philosophical choices without explaining them to me in detail.

it will be arriving on friday bc that is when the strapping young men who own trucks are available. my front door is a very non standard size and i have a very awkward front stair, so i needed something that could fit under the overhang while standing on its end. this one was the best size and (fortunately) the cheapest at $150. it is some sort of extremely flammable early polyester and 100% has a grandma’s soul trapped within its fibers. i will probably buy a cover at some later date to deter miss macaron but in the meantime we will do the strips of brown painters tape, which does successfully deter her. this really really does not want to be steamed so i will also be procuring some chemicals.

this is my bastard son: Samuel Alastine :D he goes by Sam but everyone calls him Sammy ^_^

his personality is like if you combined chip jrwi + sokka atla and made a really sappy fucked up love child. he's such a sarcastic little bitchboy at all times who loves being a bastard and charming his way into and out of situations (the consequences of his actions). he really focuses on the actions of the people and how they treat others as a sign of if he should trust them or not, when asked by Withers the question on how much a single human life was valued i had his answer READY lmao he was instantly responding with "it depends on the person's actions." he definitely has a weak-spot for kids though, he went through a rough childhood, but he doesn't consider it "important" and he trys to keep it as close to his chest as possible.

he's a tiefling sorcerer and i decided to make his sub-race a dragonborn tiefling so he could get the specific type of spells i wanted. i think my plan for progressing him is to focus my general skill-tree to be skewed towards how his personality would fight instead of whats most practical, and for him that definitely means wiping out multiple people in one flashy go with ZERO back-up plans. the amount of times he's had to get one of the other party member to revive him is insane, so he tends to leave that part out of the big flashy tales about his adventures. he loves showing off and bragging so much genuinely again think sokka atla just an absolute loser bastard who tries to take credit in a loving way. he would kill and die for his friends he just shit-talked as beneath him and side characters 5 seconds ago, and if someone else tries to also talk bad about them he's throwing hands and swinging on them in an instant with his whole 8 strength

speaking of which i skewed by skills so badly by putting the free +2 modifier to charisma to give him a 17 bro i coulda blanced his skills a little more and made all of his attacks do more than a grand total average of like. 2. maybe 3 if youre lucky but i DIDNT because im not a COWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! so now he just flops over if he gets breathed at wrong or is out of spell slots like god intended. but at least he knows how to flirt GODBLESS

also also i definitely think his current party is going to remain his favorite and most trusted for the whole game. he's adventuring with Shadowheart, Wyll, and Astarion right now and they fit him so perfectly its actually insane. he loves how forward thinking Shadowheart is and is willing to follow her, and respects her for keeping her secrets while still letting him make fun of how closed off she is. (realizing now that my playful banter i try to give him might be the romancing options. but like. yeah he would try and do that she would never go for it though.) ((maybe)) and he absolutely adores Wyll's heroicism and looks up to him in a way, full of nothing but respect for how selflessly he acts and how he fights with confidence. he's an especially big fan of how he treats kids, knowing he never would have gotten that same kindness and it was nice to see the cycle be broken and someone make a change. and astarion he just wants to fuck LMAOOOO he loves the conversations they have and while astarion saying "oh yeah btw how do you wanna die when that worm in your brain spreads. like do you want poison or a knife" should normally be offputting thats EXACTLY his kinda humor and flirting. he said knife btw ^_^ purely because at the beginning where astarion jumped him he pinned him to the ground and held a knife to his throat and he really wants that to happen again but you didn't hear that from him. nuh uh.

11. If you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

So, I'm obviously proud of all my chaptered fics and even the longer one-shots. I put a lot of work into all of them, and even if there were challenges and bumps in the writing process, I saw it through and completed them, and now I can look back on them and reread them and share them, and say “wow, I actually wrote that”. That's one of the coolest feelings there is.

A recent ficlet that I am really happy with is Guiding Light, which I wrote for my 1k follower event. I nearly scrapped it after some 500 words, bc the Kas!Eddie voice was fighting me tooth and nail, but I'm really proud of how it turned out in the end and have gotten some lovely comments on it. 🥰

16. Tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

I've recently looked at the floor plans of the house that they used as the Harrington house in the series, and holy smokes, we actually need to make more fun of how much of an absolute nightmare of a Frankenhouse it is. How many garages does that place have? Was it four? Hell, they can have a garage for the Bimmer, one for Eddie’s van, one for CC to have band practice in and one to play DnD. Or wait, they can use the massive, unfinished basement for that, or one of the THREE guest rooms, each of which has a fucking private LOFT! Why doesn't Steve's room have a loft? What kind of lousy parents are the Harringtons that they won't even let their son have his own loft? I need Eddie to absolutely lose his shit over this utter ridiculousness of a home.

I just saw your post about Raven’s relationship to sex and I knew it was probably sort of out there in the comics, but I didn’t actually know her total origin.

I’m like, half working on this DCYA graphic novel concept around and older Raven (idk how she ages, but the concept art I’ve made has her in her mid to late thirties), adopting a younger relative found on another planet. I don’t really know the lore well, so I wasn’t sure if younger half brother, or nephew, or something else makes the most sense, and I was basing him loosely off of Razer from Green Lantern the animated series.

The story is ultimately more about him and his love interest because it’s a YA concept, but I thought it was interesting I got some of the Raven lore right on accident. As the story idea revolved around a teenage alien with powers tied to strong emotions falling in love with a robot who secretly has a soul and the drama and angst that comes with it. I had him ask Raven how to have a relationship when you have emotion powers and her answer was basically you don’t.

My logic was stemming from her powers and also the fact I can’t really think of any love interests that make sense to me (Damien and Beast Boy being the only two, and I don’t really care for either as a love interest tbh). But the trauma of what happened to her mother would add a dimension to it, since this adopted son character would not really know much if anything about the demon side of his family.

Anyways, I really need to read the classic comics! Sorry is this is sort of incoherent lol, I’m running on not a lot of sleep. But I just wanted to share my idea and Raven concept. I’m glad I found this blog because a lot of the modern Raven stuff feels like a flanderization of the 03 show. I imagine the departure is even stronger to a fan of the OG raven.

I think either half brother or nephew could work, though I'd personally lean more towards half brother. In the original version of Raven and Trigon, Raven is his only surviving child after over a hundred failed attempts. However, this was retconned in 2008 and since then Raven has had some form of either brothers or siblings in general (generally she's relegated to being the only girl though).

That being said, there is a noncanon graphic novel that takes place during the 80s timeline where it's revealed that Raven had a forgotten sister who kind of slipped through the cracks. Her sister goes insane without anyone to teach her how to use her powers, and Trigon doesn't know she exists so she's just kind of left to languish on Earth. I feel like this is the most similar to your concept! New Teen Titans: Games, though I'd recommend reading the regular series before you read the graphic novel.

I think she could mostly be a good mentor, but she has a lot of baggage related to how she was trained to use her powers and her trauma from Trigon in general, and she'd probably inadvertently end up passing that along to a sibling who has the same heritage as her.

Yeah, I'm not big on either of those ships either. Raven having to teach her relative about their family would be so interesting and is such a fun concept! Unfortunately, I'd imagine that he would have been conceived in a very similar way to Raven, given the way Trigon behaves. I'd be really curious to know what happened to his mother and how he ended up in Raven's care. Seriously, I'd love to read this story!

I totally recommend the classic comics, I love them dearly. While some elements of them have definitely aged poorly, I don't think any future version of Raven managed to be better than the original. I really agree about modern Raven feeling like a flanderization of 03 Raven, unfortunately. Toon Raven is not a perfect adaptation of Raven's original comic characterization and there are changes that I would've never made myself, but she's a much better version of Raven than whatever is going on in the current comics. Her current appearance and personality is really like someone trying and failing to guess what made toon Raven popular and pumping out an almost completely unrecognizeable character as a result.

Her MV would have different shades of red and pink (mostly the darker ones) as its colors.

Her MV starts with weird monster-like creatures (if you need a reference, they look a little bit like INMF Muu, but without the queen bee motifs) that kind of look like Yurika and her manager, Takame, plus some other creatures standing around a red coffin with a creepy flesh or meat-like texture that keeps pulsating, almost like it's an internal organ. Everything is silent and we can only hear a heartbeat-like sound coming from it.

When the coffin finally stops moving, the manager nods and Yurika immediately stabs it with her sword, causing it to bleed, though the blood is pastel pink and even looks like some kind of cream. All other creatures cheer and the song starts.

"Ah yes, that's how we do things in this world

It may be scary, but that's just how the adults' life is

I will do anything to put food on my plate

So keep ordering me around, I'll do what you say"

The creatures reveal that they've actually been holding buckets all this time and Yurika and her manager start filling them with parts of that coffin and its "blood".

"But I'm not the only one who's like that

Everyone has their own needs and it's our job to satisfy them

Think of us as heroes, we just want to help"

When they're finally done, all creatures walk away and the manager smiles at her gently, making Yurika smile back and blush.

"I'm not a fan of relying on people like that

If I could become more independent, I would've left you a long time ago

But as long as you keep giving me everything I want

I will stay by your side, like your personal maid"

Then Takame turns around and sees a bigger monster bringing two people that look like they're statues made entirely out of chocolate. We can't see any of their features clearly, but Yurika looks excited and even proud.

"Yes, I was the one who did it! You will reward me, right?

They were standing in our way, punish them, give them what they deserve"

Takame simply thanks that monster and asks it to leave them there. She turns to Yurika and gives her a smile again, though it looks a bit more scary this time.

The scene changes and now it looks like Yurika, Takame and those people are eating together. The walls look.. weird. It's like all of them are inside some kind of creature, the walls are red and they keep pulsating and you can still hear the sound of heartbeat throughout the song. Their guests don't have any appetite at all and they're not eating anything. Both of them look extremely uncomfortable.

Suddenly, one of them turns to Yurika and Takame and starts talking to them about something and the chocolate slowly starts to melt, revealing actual human body.

"What are you trying to say? Do you really think you have any rights in this place?

"Let's think about it more", "Let's calm down", who do you think you are?

You should be begging for mercy, stop pretending that you're braver than you really are"

We still can't see that person well, because now all focus is on the other guest who decides to leave quietly while Yurika and Takame are too busy listening to the first guest. As they move, the chocolate melts as well.

Yurika seems interested in whatever the first person is saying and turns to Takame who smiles, nods and then throws her fork right into that person's heart. The chocolate melts completely and that person's human body disappears, leaving nothing but liquid. The chorus starts playing as Yurika laughs and claps her hands, but then she notices that the second guest is nowhere to be found. Yurika leaves the dining room and tries to find that other guest and as she runs, more and more holes start to appear in the walls.

"I can't disappoint you, no, no, I won't give up

When Yurika stops for a second to look at them, it turns out that all holes have arms inside of them (that also look like they're made out of chocolate, but they move like they're completely human). The arms start trying to grab Yurika by her hair, arms, etc and she continues running after that other guest while also avoiding the arms.

When she can finally see that person, the chocolate is almost completely gone and the only body part that still has chocolate on it is their arm and it looks like that person is a young woman with light pink hair and green and purple eyes. She tries to have a conversation with Yurika and tries to calm her down and holds her hand out to her.

"What do you mean, you're forgiving me?

You understand me, you know what it's like?

Your words taste so sweet, but here's the thing

I never liked sweet things, so why don't you shut up?"

She gives her a smile, but Yurika only stands there until suddenly, she bites that woman's chocolate hand off, making her whole body turn into that pastel pink liquid from the beginning.

She turns around and sees Takame and smiles at her while still having the hanf in her mouth. The chorus plays again, but if you listen closer, you can also hear Yurika sing "I don't need your forgiveness, I will save myself" over and over. Takame smiles approvingly and shows that the creatures are back with their buckets. Yurika spits the hand out, nods and puts the hand in the first creature's bucket.

"You have to agree, there's nothing more bitter than losing all your power"

Autumn anime 2023 is so STACKED, it's illigal!

Aside from the obviously amazing continuing shows, there's TOO MANY great new ones.

Based on first episodes, here's my top ranking (may be subject to change cuz Apothecary Diaries isn't out yet. And excluding SpyxFamily, dr. Stone and Tokyo Revengers which are all *chef's kiss*)

1. Kamonohashi Ron: Deranged Detective

you had me at Detective. and then you had me at Deranged. Also, I'm a big fan of Amano Akira's other works, Reborn and eldLIVE (Psycho-Pass not so much, but she only did the character art) Depressed adult who is too curious for his own good, what's not to love?

2. Undead Unluck

I saw the manga before and had been really anticipating the anime. They're such a fun duo and their personalities and abilities compliment one another really well. looks like there'll be a lot of cool unusual superpowers. Reminds me a lot of Blood Lad, just hoping this anime won't end with virtually nothing solved T~T;

3. Kingdom of Ruin

Bit on the over the top side with the amount of tragedy, but the worldbuilding seems very interesting. I'm a slut for witch hunting too. May end up severely traumatized if I continue, but we'll see how it goes.

4. My New Boss Is Goofy

My soul is healed, my crops are growing. Grown men doing stilly stuff is comfort food for the eyes. Looks a bit yaoi baiting, but can't complain if it's cute. Reminds me of Cool Douji Danshi.

5. Migi & Dali

I don't even know what's going on at this point, it's so surreal. Elder couple wants to adopt one child and genius twins thought 'we can work with that'. The silly love children of Johan Liebert and Sakamoto desu ga. (same author as Sakamoto too. it sure shows.)

6. Crash course on Naughtiness

Last season, I was confronted with the pet-peeve of feeble waifu syndrome (I finished My Happy Marriage, but I'm sorry, I could not stand that girl...) And this season around, I realized the formula that breaks the curse of feeble waifus: a batshit crazy counterpart. This man is just bullying her with kindness. plus points for another excelent job done by Sugita Tomokazu.

7. Frieren

As a big fan of DnD, I can't say no to such a DnD-based series. Plus the pressure of having to live such a long live as elves do is very interesting. It's a bit slow to my liking, but the characters are amusing and layered.

8. Yuzuki family's 4 sons

a young man who has to take care of his 3 little brothers after his parents died, give me some napkins Q-Q not a single person looks or acts their age (the youngest has better vocabulary than I do;;) but it's all fun and sweet and trying to find your way in an unusual family-hirarchy

9. I'm in love with the villainess

My eyes hurt from looking at this. But the over the top artstyle works quite well with how silly the story is. I too would like to say 'step on me, mommy' to my favorite villain. Just hope it won't become repetitive in its jokes.

10. Tearmoon Empire

Wow, will you look at that. Another reincarnated villainess. Luckily, this one has no memories of living in a different world or something. Just her future self's diary. Enjoying the concept where she's not suddenly a saintly good girl for a change.

11. Oujo to Banken

This dude is on THIN fucking ice. I commonly enjoy age gaps very much. but in no way what so ever, would I support a relationship between a teenager and the 10 year older guy who basically raised her. Him being her parent figure is where I draw the line. That said, I'm eating up the amount of over-protectiveness and yakuza-logics. It has the amount of spice I had hoped to find in Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting that wasn't there.

12. Ragna Crimson

I'm sorry. just...... you can't make me believe that the ditsy loli-girl is the best dragon killer in the world. stop. The maincharacter is quite interesting, though. I like how it's like... his actual own power that he has for his OP special snowflake thing. Borrowing tomorrow's energy for today.....that's the description of a burn out I read the other day;;; But you do you, boy. good luck dying very early in life.

Okokkok so Janette. *claps hands togheter* Her full name is Janette Biswar but went as Jane B in highschool since she was embarrassed of her last name (nobody could pronounce it). Her mum was called Diana and she is the second person to ever run the cult which is called Children Of The Woods and its dedicated to the monsters in this world. Like seeing them as a gods or gods creatures. (Fun fact this world is like our own but with monsters living alongside people :]])

Soo Janette had to compete with her best friend Huan Lin who was the son of an important member of the cult, for the leadership. She ended up getting it by killing Huan :[ And she has nightmares to this day about it.

She adopted a kid named Oliver which she’s technically the aunt of but his parents died when he was younger so she took him in. Janette, this is now in the storyline of when the main story is set btw, meets Adele Beckett, who is Ryan’s mum.

And they kind of have a relationship? Not romantic in any sense cuz Janette is aromantic and Adele is cheating on her husband Josh. And their whole thing is that Janette had told Adele about her being aro and explaining how she didn’t want anything romantic over and over and Adele pretended to get it and later in the story Adele brings it up in an argument. Adele is very aro and transphobic which is like- girl nooo. And Janette constantly offers that the two have a friendship outside their relationship and Adele always denies it since she wants a romantic relationship (douchebag characters andbskjd)

And Janette dies twice in the story, which is first to a molotov cocktail fire (molotov cocktail is like a bomb made with alcohol) set by Adele and then she gets revived by Sprites, one of the monsters, and at the moment she has blue highlights in her eyes and every time her skin is cut, a new blue flower sprouts from the cut.

There will be more!! Kind of a overview of what happens in the two’s story heheh. Could go in more detail but I shall another time!! Hope this isn’t to long :D

Hey, anon on the Jay Nakamura topic again, I definitely agree on the fact that Jay doesn't really add anything if he is overpowered and equal to Jon. What I'm trying to say is that Tom Taylor in Son of Kal El made it seem as the story was going to be about Jon struggling with trust after the events in the volcano. He was going to be more closed off and cautious of others because it made it seem as though as Jon didn't feel like he could trust people to have his back, especially the fact that with as you said, Jon realizing how powerful he is, feeling like his allies are more of a liability than backup. Sounded like it could be an interesting and reasonable flaws for Jon. We could've seen how this affects Jon's relationships, especially with non superpowered friends and family who before have had his back before and even saved him in his younger years (ex. Lois Lane and Damian Wayne) and have seen Jon learn to trust people again and be able to rely on them again. But Tom Taylor's solution to this instead was Jay, a "straightfoward romantic relationship". I've tried liking Jay as I am always curious and excited for new superheroes but as you said in previous posts, he is originally created to be Jon's love interest. Not to mention he began to annoy me as the comic is supposed to be about Jon but Jay is seemingly taking up space with his story and arc as the role of supporting character. It made it seem Tom Taylor took the advantage of writing his original character and forcing him into Jon's spotlight in any and every way possible, at least to me. If anything, we could have used more non superpowered supporting cast for Jon to give him a sense of normality, he is half human after all. What do you think?

valid! i think tom had good intentions and wanted to write a good, happy and mentally stable superhero to counter the bat family maybe, and in doing so he missed so many shots, i think jon struggling to put his faith in people who he believes are weaker than him is such a fun angle, him learning to come to terms with humans with no powers again would have been a great read

i also think addressing the years of prison would have been the correct thing to do, thats why im excited for this new series, cause fuck if he did something with it in son of superman

full honestly after reading most of son of superman and getting bored i genuinely cannot tell u anything about jays story like wow i did not care, hes easy to ignore i think, which is his first flaw, like yeah he was around too much maybe but even then he was such a non presence

i compare him to bernard a lot in my mind cause in the end they are the "bf i made up for representation with a complicated life story for drama" and like... i look forward to bernard being around, i find him hilarious and hes dumb and fun and thats enough, meanwhile jay is just such a downer and feels incredibly patronizing sometimes

all in all i just think tom tried but it didnt work out, which is a shame cause hes the one writer that made me cry several times so im looking forward to him putting those abilities to work with jon

Burt and Carol are such a wholesome couple. Prob the healthiest on the show lol.

These two are iconic. I also love how Kurt adds the armband bc even in a uniform, he needs to personalize it somehow.

He’s so supportive of Mercedes here... sadly not as much rest of the ep.

But also his expression at being told he has hips like a pear... awe. He’s so tiny though.

Also, seems like ages since the Finn crush was a plot. And wow, Kurt going strong. 

Can I just say how happy I am they’ve started styling his hair? The bangs were cute, but like. This looks much better.

And yikes, Kurt... Mercedes is doing the right thing here, she’s having a very healthy lunch! And Kurt took the criticism so seriously like omg can he please eat real food. I get that he’s happy to not be bullied for once but like. Babe pls.

All Kurtcedes fights are in the cafeteria, apparently.

I love how protective he is of Burt. He really stepped into the caretaker role and even when their relationship was more strained, they both love each other and protect each other and I love it.

“Fate brought them together” gee Kurt, when did you change your name. I find it hilarious that this was all his scheme but it resulted in Burt and Carol being so besotted with each other. Who knew they could bond beyond just having dead spouses?

I am curious wtf Kurt’s plan was here. Like, did he think he’d get to spend more time with Finn but then Burt and Carol would break up? Was he hoping they’d get married?? This is such dumb teen boy logic. And I’m really not having the whole ‘predatory gay’ stereotype bc we don’t need to see that

He is very intense here. Like Kurt. Finn is clearly not comfortable here. and omg when he refers to Burt and Carol as ‘Mom and Dad’ like sweetie. No.

Again, Kurt is way too much here but omg the way he looks at Finn and then Puck mouths ‘Are you gay’ and I can’t stop laughing. 

But I do like how he sings the song, much smoother than Defying Gravity. ANd Mercedes is smiling at him and Brittana cuddle bc they like the song too, v sweet.

Not my fav Kurt song? But it’s nice. And I do like Kurt’s singing better than Finn’s. I find in general Finn does well at the upbeat/rock songs, but not a fan of the more ballad style.

Kurt’s crying at the end, he’s legit so in love. It’s also probably hard that he has just... no one to really talk to about it? We never see him discuss it with anyone. His dad is not ready for that kind of talk. And with the girls him being gay is fun for them bc he can talk about fashion etc, but lowkey him being gay is rarely about him liking boys? I mean, everyone knew bc of his clothes etc, he has never shown interest in an actual boy before. Him having feelings might break the illusion of the girls seeing him more as an accessory. 

I do wish he could talk about it with Mercedes though. She’d be a good voice of reason, and him having some sort of outlet could be helpful so he might be less intense around Finn.

I do appreciate that as soon as Finn is a threat to his dad, crush is on the backburner bc *Danger Danger Danger*

And you know it’s not intended as an insult, but how Burt brushes Kurt off and is so excited to talk sports. And you can see it on Carol’s face, that she spots it too and has sympathy for Kurt, while also happy for finn to have a fatherly presence. Ugh, this whole family dynamic, all 4 of them, best writing in the show.

Every Kurt and Burt scene is just a masterpiece. Kurt being passive aggressive, but Burt will call him out, try to talk it out.

And I love how you can see here that Burt is still in his beginning phases. ugh when he says “guy talk” and Kurt is just “I’m a guy” my heartt. Bc he is a guy but he’s a different type of guy and bc of that everyone treats him differently and just.

Burt is trying so hard, but he still makes these mistakes. And even though he accepts his son, he still has that ‘let’s just each do our own thing’ mentality.

But I am glad he does call Kurt out, asks why he fixed him out with Carol. Bc Kurt was being selfish about it, setting them up to get close to Finn, and now backtracking bc he feels like he’s losing his dad.

Bc his dad always comes first and just. Kurt s1 is so flawed bc he’s such an angsty/dumb teen and it makes him such a real character and fascinating to watch. Plus, his heart stays int he right place

Crush aside, s1 had some of the best Finn and Kurt interactions. I love how Finn knew right away that Kurt was hurt by Finn bonding with Burt. And Kurt isn’t even offended here by Finn not wanting to live with him bc right now his dad is his priority.

I’m so glad the whole ‘let’s break up our parents’ didn’t turn into a drawn out scheme. They quickly see how happy their parents are and accept that they’re together.

Bc different eps focus on different characters, I like how a lot of plots are wrapped up within the ep. The show has character arcs etc throughout, but I find I’m not a fan of certain plotlines going on for way too long. Like the fake baby, or Puck being the father, ugh or the student election. Those all had me like ‘just get on with it’ whereas character arcs, like kurt and his dad, the mercedes/troubletones, etc are much more interesting.

Aww I love them. And Kurt immediately says “I was wrong” and owns up to his mistake, yay.

So glad Mercedes got another song, but oof I want more of both of them performing with the cheerios! Only a few eps left of them on the team... And!! Apparently they cut a song from the ep?? Kurtcedes and the Cheerios were supposed to do Fergalicious (there are some pics of behind the scenes) and the fact that we missed out on that actively angers me.

K but first off, they’re at Finn’s house? Why was Kurt there? Was he visiting Carol? Did he just walk by?? I need answers bc it’s lowkey creepy lol

At least Finn has learned how Burt is legit the best dad and is happy to hang with him. And it’s well done, how Finn’s part is pretty wrapped up, but there’s still Kurt on the outside, bc it’s not all perfect yet.

I’ll say it every time. The best Glee writing went to this family dynamic. Mainly Burt and Kurt, but really the 4 of them together. I love it.

“God, you’re so boring now we can’t go out clubbing,” Luca complained teasingly, nudging Izzy with his shoulder. “You just had to go and get yourself knocked up, didn’t you?”

Izzy nudged him back, a dollop of her expensive gelato going flying as she did so. “Hey, it’s not like we’ll never go out dancing again. Besides, isn’t your man keeping you busy with work of your own these days?”

Luca scooped up another spoon of salted caramel ice cream. For a brief, insane moment, he’d considered trying something different like hokey pokey or choc chip but in the end, he’d found his favourite and had no interest in exploring other options.

A bit like how he felt about Ryan the first time they’d met. “Yeah, it’s been pretty fun. And Ry is really happy to be back in the air so much.”

“Is it weird? Having to step back now that Skye’s son is older?”

“Nah. I like having Ryan to myself to be honest. And plus, it means I can come visit your lame ass more often.”

Izzy blew a raspberry in his direction, making him laugh. He was teasing. There was absolutely nothing lame about Isobel Morrisini, queen of the Italian underworld and close ally to the O’Riain clan. She perched beside him on the edge of the penthouse’s private gardens, watching the eternal city that was Roma pass by below, beautiful and serene. From here, the ancient coliseum and scattered ruins were bathed in gold light. Luca loved visiting Izzy and Nico in Rome, but already he was homesick with the insistent tug calling back to the highlands and the stones.

“How far along are you now?”

Izzy rubbed her belly, the swell there only just starting to be obvious through the flowery sundress she wore. “Almost eight months. Sometimes it feels like it’s taking forever, sometimes I worry it’s going too fast. We’ve both wanted this so much.”

“I’m glad Vito’s gone now,” Luca said quietly, digging around for the last dregs of caramel. “You won’t have to look over your shoulder anymore.”

Izzy gave him a telling glance. “Nor you. Lainey’s gone?”

“Yeah. Ry dealt with her. I should have let him deal with her years ago when she first started her shit but I was… I dunno. I think I was kinda smug. I didn’t know she could be so dangerous.”

“I don't think anyone could have. But she’s gone now. They both are. Now we get to live the rest of our lives with the men we love.”

“Yeah,” Luca brightened then swung his legs around to climb off the edge. He helped Izzy up too. “God, if Nico sees you like this, he’s gonna freak.”

Izzy laughed. “Oh, he knows. He just knows better than to argue with me now.”

“Still, precious cargo and all that.” Luca gestured to her belly.

“Do you want to feel him kick?”

“What?”

“The ice cream must have woken him up. He’s moving around.”

Luca found himself morbidly curious. Not that he hadn’t been around babies, Kate and Skye pumping them out like it was going out of style, but it was another thing entirely to feel one moving around on the inside.

It kinda grossed him out a little.

Izzy laughed at the expression on his face. “Luca!”

“What! Sorry, I know it’s the miracle of creation and blah blah, but like, isn’t it just, fucking weird? Like… that. In… there. I’m-“

Luca pulled a face, only causing Izzy to laugh harder. “It’s really not that weird.”

“Not to you,” Luca sniffed, but he gingerly poked her belly, only for Izzy to roll her eyes and flatten his palm against the curve of her stomach. “This feels very hetero,” he muttered, only for Izzy to shush him.

At first there was nothing, then a tiny little flutter. His eyes widened. “Holy shit!”

“See,” Izzy looked smug. “Not so weird.”

“Wow. Okay,” Luca pulled his hand away. “So if it’s a boy, you’re gonna call him Luca, right?”

Izzy covered her mouth, trying to hide her laugh. “Um. No.”

“Come on, it’s a good name. And I totally just bought you that gelato and snuck you onto the roof so like, naming your first born after me totally seems like a pretty good deal.”

“Your husband’s black credit card bough the gelato,” Izzy corrected, sweeping past Luca in a swirl of flowing sundress.

He trotted after her, undeterred. “Do you know what Luca means? Bringer of Light. Ry says it's perfect because I remind him of sunshine. How cool is that?”

“Luca-“ Izzy started.

“See, just look how much you already love saying it.”

“Oh for god’s sake,” she melted against him, clutching his arm and finally giving up on holding in her laughter. He giggled right alongside her until they made it downstairs and back onto the street. Across the road, the gelato sign was still lit up in a neon glow and the two black cars flanked its shopfront, ready to take them home once they’d had their fun.

Izzy’s hand tightened on his arm. “You know. I’m not sure I’m ready to go home yet.”

“Aren’t your feet aching? And other pregnant lady stuff? Kate always complains about her back hurt-ow!”

Izzy pinched his side, hard. “You are such a brat.”

“I know,” he grinned then tugged her back across the street. “Come on, let’s get seconds then!”

Celebration time!! First otsu otsu from Itaru made me nostalgic sob

“Closing night was one of the happiest moments of my life” I know this is natsugumi time but this line from Saku hit me in the feels (also seeing Masumi’s sprite laughing like that was so sweet aw)

I like Yuki sm. I mean, I have always liked him but he’s so... frank? (mmm not the word but oh well) for his age and in the auditions you see the contrast between him and Kazu. Yuki IS somewhat interested after the show but I feel he understood it might take something more for him to be on board (after all there is a lot going on), on the other hand Kazu just went for it -which is fine- but it did feel as if he didn’t think that one too much (edit after the whole read: now im thinking that maybe it’s bc he saw the possibility of creating something similar to what spring troupe showed in like... a chance to find what he was looking for in a real friendship and i might cry)

Costume designer AND actor, tsuzuru pls don’t push the hand work to a middle schooler

“Mmm… You are pretty young” Tenma I’m tilting my head and raising my eyebrow that is not how I raised you (I forgot how he behaved at first help).

I loved how the audition went! Also props to Izumi for facing the big named actor and saying basically if you keep up this behaviour no matter how good you are you are out.

It's nice hearing the parents' voices as well! Yuki’s mom felt mmm idk didn’t expect it like that? Not that it was bad but it did feel how the house worked (also sakisaka papa crying bc of his son I swear this familyyyy/pos I love him)

“Where’s my gold star?” “Up your ass for all I care” Yuki really didn’t hold back oh my GOD once again kissing location

MISUMIIII (SDFGHJ Kazu really went “Rad it’s a ghost!” I wheezing) also the mechanic of the game to make it seem he was jumping all over the place by moving his sprite quickly from one side to the other hELP

First rehearsal was good for the exp they have. I’m happy Sakuya used his powers on Tenma to make him see you can be a good leader without needing to be complaining (whoever said that this might be bc Tenma was used to this harsh treatment during his jobs I second it)

The whole thing with kazu OH I wish I could hug him. That little flat laugh made me stop the story oof. Tenma really stepped over the line with everyone and I’m super glad Izumi had a talk with him

AW the firework scene!! (also known as, the beginning of tenma’s bullying/j) I think the natsugumi story is one of the most fun bc their dynamic as a full groupe are just so chaotic filled with nostalgia? I mean, they are the youngest troupe and I know it’s intentional but I still like it <3
