I kinda hopped into the dc fandom by reading fics (I know I know lmao)

But as I've read more comics and looked into different characterization and analysis I now have a more developed idea as to how I view a lot of the characters and have preferences to how their written. I'm def the type to click out a fic if I find myself thinking 'he would not fucking say that'

Anyway this is just to say it's very funny to me when I go thru some of the fics I bookmarked at the begining of my interest and find myself going Uh Oh! I don't think I can read this anymore!

Ever since I discovered blocking actually hides people's posts, even on the dash, I've just begun blocking with reckless abandon and it's honestly been so good

An RP blog is clogging up a character tag? Block them so you just get the posts you actually want to see

A beloved mutual keeps putting images of bugs on your dash, but never tags for it? Block the 3 blogs they keep reblogging bugs from as a catch all blacklist function

Someone just has the most absolute rancid vibes? Block em so you don't have to interact with them ever again

And ofc, you see someone with the worst fucking take you've ever seen? Fuck it, block 'em, you have better things to do than get mad at some trucknut idiot on the internet

I cannot recommend being liberal with the blocking button enough for a better tumblr experience, 10/10 would block again

Aro culture is getting confused when you see a Character/reader fic because you get confused with people wanting to do all those things (mostly overly extra sweet romantic stuff) with a fictional character. And it gets worse when is a fanfiction about RPF because why would people have a relationship with them? Isn't it better to ship them with someone else?

As I understand it, Cam found and passed it on, because Cam is Cleo's not-so-secret agent, but either way nothing in my tags or in OP's post changes.

Ok I want to say something controversial

But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.

“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.

Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.

Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.

i do think one thing that will help protect your peace on the internet is remembering that people have lives and interactions that don't involve you or the fandom(s) you share with them. for example instead of assuming some off-handed vent or joke post they made is targeting your favorite character, perhaps say to yourself "i haven't been tagged and my special little guy isn't mentioned, so it has nothing to do with me" and go on about your day.

Kineil Plays Hogwarts Legacy - 3/26/23

Apparently tomorrow is one month later…look, I know I’ll end up sinking hours into this game and be keyed up for hours after so it’s basically got to wait until I have free time

I used to have free time what happened…I blame that voice that came with adulthood that said you could be doing something productive instead

As I understand it Doris from Shrek 2 is here so this will be interesting

I love this concept because someone who basically contacted me on Tumblr to scold me for playing this game accused this of being tokenism while those on the other side of the fence call it woke pandering

Basically, just make a good game, the fact that the game works and released in a completed state should be enough to earn them some accolades y’all make yourselves miserable inserting politics into it
