I don't think I've ever been so in love with life! Or with this lady next to me. In the last past weeks, Shalini turned 38, I turned 45, and we celebrated our 5th anniversary. We are both busier than ever with our businesses. She opened her shop, I'm setting up a team and facilitating a growing organization. Little gatherings like the opening of the Ruyterkade Offices, as in the picture, are really nice to feel and celebrate our growth. There was a time when I had a very different (unhealthy) view of myself. Unhealthy ways of thinking led to a very unhealthy lifestyle. But the way I look at myself, and at us, makes me damn proud of the people we choose to become. Choose, for it's a repeated action, every day again! Growth don't stop! The feeling of accomplishment; I know how to work disciplined. I know how to worry less. I understand the value of going on, giving in, or giving something up that's not worth my time or effort. Upgrading life also means slowing down when the pace goes up. That almost sounds weird, no? The past weeks I have had a lot of physical difficulties due to my disrupted nerve system, wrong posture, and too much excitement. For most this is often called stress, but for me, it's finally being able to live my purpose, which is EXCITEMENT! Since I moved, I desperately wanted a massage to give my body the deserved and very much needed attention, but I kept postponing due to my many new responsibilities. My price of freedom came at a hefty price 9 years ago. A spinal cord injury changed my life in such way that some body functions still don't work as I was used to. Suddenly I had to focus on what my body wanted, instead of what I wanted. But I made a promise, that I would become the best man that I could become, and my mission lives on to this day! Physical therapy, acupuncture and a healthy disciplined balanced lifestyle is part of that. I have listened to myself and learned to breathe through pain and into intentional living.
