Let's Spice Things up!
what type of spices do you love? have you ever wondered how your taste in spice might lean towards a cusine more than what you're going for? Its important to understand spices and where they come from...
You learn something new every day my little spice users! Especially here at my blog not only am I looking forward to sharing spices with you but sharing some personal knowledge that can help cooks at home ๐ .. Being a at home cook is difficult (why'd you think there are so many take out options?)... keep it going so lets talk its a huge eyeopener
Soo.. lets start with African spices? ๐(take note the spices I mention include but not exclude I am no actuall master of spices lol)
chiles, cardamom spice, cilantro, cinnamon, cloves , cubeb pepper, cumin, garlic, fenugreek, peppercorn; aswell as ginger, mint, parsley, sesame seeds, turmeric, nutmeg.
Indian..
cardamom, black pepper, curry leaves, ginger, fennel, ajwain, tamarind, bay leaves, cayenne, curry powder, cumin, coriander, tumeric, clove, ginger, fenugreek, nutmeg, paprika, garam masala, cinnamon.
Asian..
Basil, cassia (cinnamon), chillies, galangal, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, black cumin, chives, star anise, turmeric, spearmint, kaffir lime leaves, scallions.
French..
Basil, bayleaves, majoram, parsley, sage, tarragon, thyme
the "Alliums" (the family of bulbs) such as chives, leeks, garlic , onions, and shallots are widely used too.
