Viktor’s different, there’s no doubt about that. Both physically and mentally. He’s still grappling with his new form and with that comes the difficulty of being intimate and vulnerable. Viktor doesn’t quite know what he is, but he knows that he’s not himself anymore. That robe he dons is a way for him to present himself as he was before the explosion; not deformed, composed.

Loving Viktor is slow and gentle. He has always carried himself some decorum, wanting to relish the moment for what it is rather than rushing. That’s only amplified in consideration of the fact he doesn’t know how durable his new state is, or what his limits are. But, in a very Viktor fashion, that’s all the more reason to experiment 💕

Now, the fact that Viktor enjoys the slow aspect of intimacy doesn’t mean he isn’t eager. The fact that he was starved of any contact in the odd Hexcore-mould for the time he was in a coma paired with the lack of privacy in the slums, there are very few moments you have with each other.

Appreciation and praise is mutual more than ever during sex. For as many followers look up to him he worships you, able to catalog and praise each little thing on your body that you perceive as a ‘flaw’. Similarly, his lack of confidence in his new body (as aforementioned) has allowed him to register each little touch and kiss planted on his body as something sincere, like little confessions. He needs it.

This is more of a speculative assumption, but I don’t know if the animators stressed Viktor’s limp as severely as they did in S1. This can bring into the consideration of his stamina being heightened when topping, because he doesn’t need to worry about the stress it’ll bring upon his leg as a consequence. Regardless, sometimes after a long day of meeting his worshippers demands, Viktor simply needs to lay back and be taken care of.

I was watching a video analysing how the Yiga clan were handled in botw and how the person analysing it lamented the fact that Kohga was a joke character who totally destroyed the much more threatening image the yiga clan had all throughout the game. Although I do understand the sentiment (I felt that way for a long time) I’ve come to realise that we might not be viewing it in the right perspective. I ended up writing a comment under that video explaining how I saw things, and realised that maybe it could interest people here too? So here is the fleshed out version of it:

I think part of why they made Kohga extremely goofy compared to a way less goofy clan of literal assassins is to emphasise how even though the clan originally held some understandable beliefs, it has become a cult of personality over the years, and like most cults, the leader is way less charismatic than his followers make him out to be. Indeed, from the outside, it seems absurd how anyone could take Kohga seriously, let alone kill under his command, but from the inside, Kohga is the Beloved Leader That Guides Them Towards Victory, and anyone threatening him deserves to die.

In a way, yiga clan members feel like vulnerable, impressionable people who were enrolled into a cult and given a Big Family and a purpose (and a lethal weapon) by their lovable Master Kohga who wants the best for them… Except if you want to get out, then you’re a filthy traitor who also deserves to die. It’s especially visible when you beat him and they all get personally mad at you for killing him. They didn’t care about Ganon, they didn’t seem to actually understand the bigger picture, they only cared about Kohga.

It also shows how, like the rest of Hyrule, the Yigas are very much disconnected from their own history, seemingly holding on the grudge their ancestors held more as an excuse to continue to enact violence and perpetuate the cult of personality than fighting for a “noble” cause. Only Kohga seems to actually care about Calamity Ganon, and the rest of the yigas seem to be just tools to him. Wether or not he’s actually conscious of what he’s doing is unclear. Is he a fully aware con artist, or is he purely another product of Yiga indoctrination?

So yeah, to me it feels like a parody/critic/mockery of cult dynamics. It shows that this gang of assassins are indeed a real menace, but for seemingly no reason other than “that one lunatic they admire told them to” and “if they go away they get killed”. The reason why the clan was originally created becomes almost anecdotal. Under the current leader, no one is required to actually know what they’re doing, they just need to follow orders.

In the end, I think it is the intention the developers had because cults are a rampant problem in Japan. At the very least, even if it’s not a actually conscious critic, it’s a concept that is much more present in their cultural landscape than ours and that almost certainly influenced how they handled the Yiga clan. Basically, cults are not cool and can even be dangerous both for the public and their members. Cult leaders especially are not cool and often are con artists. Therefore, Kohga couldn’t be badass, he had to be a doofus getting beaten in the most unexceptional way possible.

sorry but do you ever think about the fact that the bernard we have today is a direct amalgamation of everything that happened in his past and i know that sound like such an obvious statement to say but it actually kills me to know that you can draw a direct line from who he is today all the way back to that sixteen year old boy who watched his best friend bleed out. like it is the defining moment in his life. it fundamentally shaped who he is and the person he's become. he is the bernard we know and love not despite the grieves shooting but because of it. because the gangs all got together and shot up his school. because tim walked out of that room with nothing but a baseball bat. because his darla got shot. because he watched her gasp and cry as she died. because he watched the blood coagulate around the wound. because he sat there and held her hand as her life drained out of her. because he walked into school that day with a joke he knew would make her laugh and her nose would scrunch up and she'd snort a little and tim would roll his eyes at him and call him ridiculous and instead he walked out with a bloody white shirt, blood under his fingernails, and two friends less. because, even now, almost half a decade out from the shooting, he thinks that if he closes his eyes, he will always be that stupid, scared little sixteen year old, holding the cooling body of dead best friend.

I am not in dire financial straights because of buying the flight tickets. I have done as much as I could to prepare for this flight months in advance, but I am also not exactly in a high paying position to afford this on a regular basis; this did take a healthy chunk of cash, just about $800 for flying alone. I'm not expecting that this sale covers all of it as I am still working my irl job as well (some weeks are better than others). edit: l just checked to see if they were actually canon (l know l was setting myself up for disappointment) and they aren’t, l watched a video of the creators saying that they love each other but they are not gay, they are just friends. My question is if that is true why do things like this. It was a choice to make scenes like this, why did you give me hope??? Like what the fuck was the point then?? Anyway sorry for the rant
