Can I talk about the sad things I was thinking about/observed when I watched Leave Out All the Rest?

Okay, so um, the first thing I noticed is his voice.  Of course, I knew he sounded sad.

But I realised that he sounds like this on another occasion:

Take a listen to that particular part, and compare it to how he sounds in the whole of 9x05

They sound the same.

It's heartbreaking...you can hear his regret...and that especially rings true in 16x02

For Leave Out, aside from being acutely depressed, he is also exhausted from not having gotten any sleep.

But there is a difference - 4x12 is another episode where he is practically deadbeat. But in that episode, he doesn't sound like this. In Butterflied, his voice becomes lighter, and you can hear that it takes him effort to speak, and he slurs his words.

But for Leave Out and that moment in Immortality, you don't hear that. As sleepless as he has been, his voice doesn't change like that. Rather, his voice is rougher due to the deep emotion that is practically tormenting him.

(Way to kill me, Billy. You did great {not sarcastic}.)

The second thing I noticed is his appearance. Again, I'm gonna compare this to Butterflied.

(I noticed his sound before his sight because...ah...there was something in my eyes. No clue what they were...)

Okay, this is also probably due to the fact that he's five years older by the time, but still. He looks so much more haggard than he does in Butterflied. There is an obvious difference between the way he looks when he hasn't slept in four shifts, and when he is feeling Not GoodTM

I think that's all I have to say.

When did you jump aboard the Blindspot madness: last month 😂 all of my work friends were watching it and freaking out about it so to join them in conversations I decided to give it a try and put it on top of my “to watch list”. Turns out I watched four seasons in 20 days, I am the only one at work who has finished it (s4 is not on netflix in Brazil at least so they are cool with just waiting, something which i was def NOT) and now I am obsessed and just joining this fandom  😊

The problem I have (as a fan and a writer) with Caitlin delivering the baby is that Caitlin's medical background has been so ambiguous. One minute she's setting Barry's bones in place, or performing surgery, now she's delivering babies. She was described as bio-geneticist and I would've preferred if the show had stayed truer to field of science. After 4 seasons she's a doctor of whatever the writers need her to be in that moment. That's terrible writing.

As a fan and med student, I get the frustration. But, I think we judge Caitlin more harshly than say, Cisco or Harry, because people understand medicine and what being a doctor entails more than engineering and physics. I’m sure the show is equally, if not more so, inaccurate in depicting Cisco building these devices and Harry coming up with these formulas and theories. Cisco builds anything the team needs in a matter of hours, never testing prototypes or needing to order parts or anything. Harry just thinks of whatever answer the team needs by writing some nonsense equations on the board. 

Also, remember in 4x12 when the guy Barry befriended in Prison, Dave, said he was friends with Henry Allen because Henry preformed surgery on him prison. That’s without a doubt to me, the most ludicrous misrepresentation of medicine and surgery on the show. I made this post about it. But, I didn’t see anyone bothered by it. People only seem to get mad when it’s Caitlin having to do ridiculous stuff. 

Caitlin delivering Jenna in Star Labs is probably the least inaccurate portrayal of medicine the show has ever had. Like I said in the earlier post, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and even regular people with no healthcare training at all, have been able to successfully deliver babies in the past. Obviously, it’s not ideal, but it happens. Trigger warning!!!!: If you recall cases of women being abducted and held captive (like Amanda Barry, Michelle Knight, Jaycee Lee Dugard, ect.) you might remember that many victims have actually been forced to give birth in the places their captors held them with no medical professionals or medical equipment what so ever. Tigger over

The Flash is not realistic. It’s never attempted to be realist in regards to medicine or anything else. The profession of medical doctor, cop, CSI, engineer, and journalist have all been misrepresented. That’s just TV. So, I’m ok with that. It’s fantasy. Suspend your belief for an hour and enjoy the entertainment.
