This is largely due to FRESH JACQUELINE LORE that she dropped in there HERSELF, including, but not limited to:

-> which Legates she hangs out with

...and many more things! I'm sure you'll notice as you read through, lol.

Boosted the year Elle is being told about this to 2020. Felt right.

Then I went 'oh wait! that was when the 'vid really hit! I wonder how that would effect this story...' and continued to edit it without giving that much thought

(tho CS did have a reaction to the 'vid! I was thinking about that. during the vid. for obvious reasons lmao)

We also got a SPRITE LORE DROP! Which I will leave for you here:

From the age of 1-100, sprites are growing and learning how to function. Once they hit 200, they become acutely aware of the fact that they are personified elements and spend the next century bouncing between elemental form and humanoid form as they learn how to keep said humanoid form. By 300, they've equalized and now that they are a functioning, talking, PHYSICAL being, they can learn how to use their elemental gifts!

So have fun with that nugget of cs lore (will tag this appropriately for easy ref for myself later lmao)

And on the subject of cs lore, a lowkey BMAN LORE DROP, aka, a Dani HC: He was raised by both St Nick and Kris Kringle so in my head for the LONGEST TIME I've been like. Heh. B-Man's got two dads :) and finally got to talk a bit about it when I rewrote the 1600s scene! DIVERSITY WIN lmao

They weren't together, lol, but they were friends/business partners and had a v close relationship--I mean. They created the Santa Legacy so, y'know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I should write about Kris more. He's a fun guy. Just, very happy dog personified and every single magibean he has ever met has been like huh? what? why did I just agree to this kooky thing this human-turned-elf suggested? huh? what? did he just give me a gift? he didn't have this before. did he just,,,make this on the spot?

“You’re sing-songy this noon, Jacqueline.”

“Lalala—huh? Oh! Mhmm! Didn’t you see? We passed music! They were playing music!”

“Naturally.”

“So now it’s stuck in my head! Very fun! But it won’t get out of my head.”

“Very not fun for me.”

“It was a really big room with all sorts of weird instruments, and lots of colours, and happy little elfies—”

A very clear image of the music room popped into Jack’s head, then. Complete with elves and Jacqueline’s unique on-Jack's-shoulders point of view.

Well. That was an interesting new thing they could do.

“Jack.”

He groaned. Pulling a face, Jack turned around, a brilliant smile replacing the scowl as he watched Santa’s irritating head elf march their way.

“Bean pole.”

Bernard pulled up in front of them, placing his hands behind his back and ignoring the slight. (Rude, Jack thought). He could feel Jacqueline shifting forward in interest, folding her hands on top of his head.

“Council’s reconvening. Mother Nature wanted me to let you know that she knows you and your Legate have already been sworn in, but she expects you both to stay for the remainder of the proceedings.”

Jack grimaced, nose wrinkling. He glanced up at Jacqueline. She was wide awake and very interested in everything right now, it looked (and felt) like. So much for the “sleepy toddler” excuse, then. She’d be very unconvincing.

“Fine,” Jack sniffed. “We’ll be back posthaste and all that.”

Bernard looked surprised. And relieved. “Huh. That was easier than I expected. Thanks Jack.”

The nerve, Jack thought, watching as the elf walked away. “That was easier than I expected,” he mocked, sticking his tongue out at Bernard's retreating form.

He straightened. Dear Lady above. He really needed to tone down the hanging-out-with-a-toddler time. It was really bringing down his pristinely cultivated maturité.

“Down! Down!”

“What? You just wanted up!”

“Well now I want down! Pretty please.”

“I don’t know, Jacqueline. That please sounded like an afterthought.”

He was unsurprised when he felt her little toes once again digging into his shoulders, her face appearing before him with an over the top and yet, still adorable little pout. How did she make her eyes go that big. What was wrong with her.

“P-w-leaseeeeeeeee Jack? Pretty pretty please???? With powdery snow on top???”

“Alright, fine. Get back up there. And fix your face.”

Cackling (yes, really, the child was cackling), Jacqueline smirked at him, popping back up on his shoulders. Seconds later her arms were around his neck and she slid down his back and threw herself over his shoulders, succeeding in nothing but a decent imitation of a necktie.

“Jacqueline. You really need to work on your chill.”

“What? No I don't! You said it was perfect just last week!”

“Not—” Jack paused to let out a laugh. “Not your literal chill! The art of being chill.”

She stopped squirming, hanging off of Jack’s neck, head tilted up at him.

“Oh. Right.”

Rolling his eyes fondly, Jack grabbed her waist, placing her down gently.

“Honestly, Jacqueline. I’m super chill, not super fast. Have some patience. Hand please, if you're going to insist on being on the floor.”

“Hehe. Okay.” She grabbed his hand, letting him gently tug her back towards the meeting room. “Who was that?”

“Who?”

“The guy you thought was rude!”

Ah. She could hear his thoughts, too. Best be careful about that, Jack thought. To himself.

“That was Santa’s Number One Elf.”

“He had a cool hat. I liked it.”

“Yeah. I’m sure he’d let you wear it in a heartbeat.”

Jacqueline stopped, pulling Jack with her. Her eyes had done that “getting big” thing again.

“REALLY?!”

Jack blinked. And got a terrible idea.

“Why, of course! C’mon, Jacqueline. Who can say no to you.”

She looked positively devious. “NO ONE.”

“Exactly. Tell you what. Why don’t you go find him and ask? I’m sure he’ll say yes. Just make sure you call him by his preferred name! It's Bernie. He loves his name. You go and catch up to him, okay? Just. Don’t get lost!”

“Okay! Wait. How will I find you?”

“Tell you what. I’m going to go to the...restroom quickly, and then I’ll go find you, and we can head back to Gran. Okay?”

“Okay!”

“Have fun! Be safe! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” Jack shouted after her retreating form, smile dropping as soon as his sister was out of view.

A quick trip to the restroom…or perhaps, instead, a quick trip to Santa’s office to do something about this whole unlawful exclusion he’d managed to get?

Same difference, Jack thought, slinking away through the lesser used hallways of the Workshop.

You know, you may not be the most well-traveled individual, but you'd argue you had your fair share of experience when it came to good places to make out. Bedrooms, cars, rooftops, dark corners of house parties, and so on. 

Admittedly, a supply closet was a first for you.

You think the added factor of being the Daycare's supply closet should also count for something. 

You were also making out with a robot, but that didn't get you points in the location category. Maybe in a whole hell of a lot of others though. Wow. Man, if the rest of the security team finds out about this they're never going to let you live it down. You think your co-occupant of the closet, might have similar beliefs.

"Friend~ you're gonna get us in trouble," Sun warns, though it's more a statement than a warning. You almost think he doesn't care at this point.

Good. Though, you can't let him get by with that statement. 

You break your latest kiss, putting a hand under his chin, smirk on your lips, "Sun, I don't think you're in anyway the one who has the right to say that. Especially not with how loud those fans of yours are."

"Well, they wouldn't be so loud if you weren't so, particular, Starlight," His words are in that usual cheerful tone but there's an edge to them.

"Particular?"

He nods once, "You seem to be so utterly determined to mark up my face with those, truthfully, pretty pretty lips of yours, and I have no choice but to return the favor."

"Sun," You coo.

"Friend."

Your fingers wrap around one of his rays before sharply pulling his face down to yours, "You're the one that dragged me in here in the first place."

And to your credit, you hadn't been expecting him to either. You'd been doing your usual patrol for this time of night, when all of the sudden you'd found yourself among the throughs of craft supplies.

You weren't exactly complaining about the situation you then found yourself in. Haveing been quickly lifted up to eye level, hands gripping your waist to help sit you on the shelf you were currently on. Hands which were still wandering your abdomen, having found access under your shirt and greedily soaking up the contact with your skin. Again, you weren't complaining.

"Did I?" He tilts his head, one hand coming up to cup your cheek, thumb pressing down on your lower lip. Inspecting, scrutinizing. It makes you scoff internally.

"Mhm."

You feel him press down just a tad harder, "I'm afraid I don't recall such a thing. Are you sure you're feeling alright, friend?"

"Friend is a bold expression for someone you've been playing tonsil hockey with for the past ten minutes, Sunny," You pull back, wiping your mouth.

He's not impressed by your idiom, "Do you have to use such crude language?"

"Do you have to be so formal?"

He chuckles, "It's a force of habit, Sweetheart. But if it hurt your feelings I'm so very sorry for that."

"Oh I'm sure you-" There's a noise that starts to crackle to life. Your radio. Shit. 

"Hey, anybody been by the Daycare in a bit?"

You wait, hushing Sun when he starts to speak up. 

"Do something about your fans," You hiss.

His rays spin, "It's not something I have total control over, Sunshine."

Someone else answers, "Yeah, think ------- was supposed to swing by. All clear over there?"

Well now you don't have a choice, unless you want to risk someone walking over here and finding, this. 

You pray no one can hear the background noise surrounding you, "Yeah, all good. The Attendant wanted to show me some drawings. You know how he is," You can feel the irritation radiating off of him at that comment, you continue, "I'll be heading back in a few."

"Ten four."

The walkie stays dead after that. 

You relax with a sigh, "Christ."

"And thus you've proven my point," Sun says, matter of factly. 

You scoff, "Sure."

"If you weren't so insatiable, you might be on your way by now."

You call bullshit on that one. You could make up any excuse on the spot and the other guards would buy it. No one at this place cared that much. Your timing isn't the problem at all.

Rather, it's the issue of a closed supply closet having a very noticeable light on, which multiple times has caused curious eyes to come wandering closer. Leading to almost getting caught more than you'd ever like. 

You say as much.

"If you didn't insist on keeping the light on, we might be a little better off," You nod up to the dingy bulb, twirling the string around your finger for emphasis, "What's the matter, think the dimness isn't enough for you-"

Sun snatches your wrist, leering closer, "Lights. On."

You stare at each other; your eyes having widened just a fraction. His expression of course being essentially immobile save for maybe a twitch in one eye you might've imagined. You could never tell if you were just making it up when it seemed his eyes moved. 

His rays tick to one side. He's waiting. 

"Heard," You relent, and in doing so he releases you. 

There's a sharpness to his tone, you can't quite place it, "Wonderful."

You wait a moment. 

"Is that an all clear to continue or...?"

"You really need to get better about these things," Sun's hand rests on your cheek again with a sigh, "Your attractiveness just barely trumps your ability to kill the mood."

"And yet, here you are," You simper.

A click, he leans in closer, "That wasn't merely a suggestion."

"I know," You tip your head up, "But you're gonna have to do better than that. Tick, tock. Unless you really want to risk getting in trouble."

Knowing him, he can't resist that kind of challenge. 

All the better for you.

You know, there was a fic like this once, and when I checked in on the sb fandom a year ago I found it was gone and that is part of the reason why Confused Spirit exists, shoutout to that author, you brain is/was massive, my other promtobers are here btw. pepper and JJ's "romance problems" arn't really importent current lorewise, and whatever related to it will happen AFTER the "fish market" lore so i will keep quiet for now 🤫

also (the main reason why im answering this question), OH BOY DO I HAVE A STORY ABOUT THAT

OK SO, jj looks like jonathan from JJBA cause...design wise, he have went through the jonathan kinsona phase

i had JJ (originaly named "piper") since 2019, and between the time he have went through a LOT of design changes

i should mention that at time time, he has been a part of a [specific CS] * i will not adress them in name as i've left the species with a bad taste in my mouth and do not want to be involved with them again

around 2020 when i was INSANLY into JJBA, i found out there was a "jjba (CS)kinsona gang" chat within the species group, and while talking with some people there, i was like "haha won't it funny if i redesign my guy into a jojo character that'll be insane" and i did just that

sadly the small group kinda crumbled cause CS is all about trading and most of the "kinsona characters" got traded and redesigned 😔 i still kept JJ intending to redesign em again.

then, in 2021 when i had beef with the said [CS] and decided to leave, i sold out most of my said CS characters, but kept JJ due to sm fond memorys on him

but i didn't want him to keep being just a "jonathan kinsona". so after a species change, giving new lore and doing bunch of redesigns, the JJ we all currently know was born into the world

while being redesigned to his current looks, i put a lot of his previous design+ his cousin(shark)'s design elements and i feel like he turned out pretty well

definatly still have a sort of a resemblence, but different just enough 🤌

it actually seperates the characters more in his outgrows neck/back fluff ver, but (for now) he likes to keep it clean

his OG design was based on speedwagon and when in my JJBA CS phase i was like "wait, wasn't there a SW inspired design??" and managed to grab em

however i don't think he gets the same recognition as JJ cause

i actually don't think his OG design resembles the character that much

i officially got him (ended my trade) when the said "JJBA CS gang" started to crumble, so i almost immidetly did a 180 on his design and used him for different lore purposes

people tend to skip part 1 so they have no idea who speedwagon is (😭)

and considering how i NEVER get comments on his connection with him but constently hear about how he look like
