does Sephiroth ever get jealous of Genesis?
That’s a good question because the reverse happens constantly with Genesis. Envy has a nasty way of intertwining with his admiration for Sephiroth, and Genesis struggles with the guilt of feeling this way. Sephiroth's glory and achievements are flaunted to the public, earning him their unwavering love and admiration, and Genesis knows that Sephiroth wants none of it. But then, Sephiroth's raw skill with sword and materia, coupled with his appearance and demeanor, make him seem like a god, perpetually perfect and always the center of attention, as if he's been blessed by the goddess herself. He embodies heroism in a way Genesis feels he can never achieve, and it makes him feel rotten.
Genesis doesn't even realize that Sephiroth feels the exact same way about him, because in Sephiroth's eyes, Genesis has everything.
He grew up with doting parents, despite their soured relationship in his adult life, in a large house where he had his own belongings and books, free to study whatever he wanted and play whenever he pleased. He lived in a village surrounded by nature and places to explore, and he had Angeal by his side—a friend Sephiroth never had. Genesis is incredibly accomplished and intelligent, so much so that he could have pursued any field—science, arts, literature—and yet he chose SOLDIER. He demonstrated a prowess with materia as a young teen that Sephiroth only achieved in adulthood, and he was the only one who could keep Sephiroth on his toes in sparring matches, and still is.
Genesis is not only incredibly talented but also exceptionally attractive. His eyes are a crystal blue, not slitted or unusual like Sephiroth finds his own, and his deep russet hair matches the color of his coat. His confidence is genuine, not manufactured by Shinra as Sephiroth's often seems to be. Genesis has a vibrant personality; he can enter any room and start an exceptional conversation with anyone, something Sephiroth struggles with. Genesis can make people laugh, provoke thought, and use his sharp wit to hold his own in any discussion. Sephiroth sometimes feels dull, as he often instills fear in those who don't avoid him and mistake his shyness for snobbery.
And all through that, Genesis likes him. Genesis sees him as his friend, and Sephiroth doesn't know how he got to be so lucky.

Zack decides to bake some cookies for his BEST FRIENDS <3, but he reads the recipe wrong and does a teaspoon of sugar and 2 cups of salt.
How, uh, does that go?
🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂
Shshshsshh 🤣❤️ I actually needed some salt for my scrambled eggs, funny enough!! *showers crystals onto breakfast* <333
Ahhhhh, Zack… that is SUCH a thing the pup would do 🤣💙 I imagine it going something like:
~
“Orddeeerrrr up!”
The resulting boom of wood hitting drywall could’ve very well been compared to a grenade being thrown through the door, at least when taking into account how the sheer magnitude of their visitor’s entrance sent both Genesis and Angeal tumbling off the couch and onto the floor in a startled, yelping mass.
Not Sephiroth, though.
He just more or less glanced up from his book, sitting in the plushiest chair in the SOLDIER First Class Lounge.
“Hello, Fair,” he nodded, smiling nonchalantly as his two friends peeled themselves from off the cold hard floor, straightening. “What brings you here?”
“Yes—good question, Sephiroth.” Genesis dusted himself off, trying to ignore the potential damage to his ribcage, mako-lit eyes snapping toward the puppy—then Angeal. “Angeal, chum... how did your student get in here?”
Angeal pulled himself up, cracking his back, looking somewhat sheepish. “I... well, I did give him a key,” he admitted, and it sounded as if he was starting to regret it.
“Oh, I forgot the key!” Zack kicked the door shut behind him, leaving the implications hidden behind his nonchalant smil—
“So you kicked the door open?” Genesis saw right through the grin, an he didn’t like it.
“Sure did.”
“Why?”
“Well, you wouldn’t let me in if I knocked.”
Genesis huffed, his eyes floating back toward Angeal with a certain woodenness, opening his mouth again to speak:
“Gen, don’t start,” Angeal sighed.
“Oh, I’m starting,” Genesis folded his arms, the familiar embers sparking in his gaze. “I don’t understand—this is the First Class common room. Why would you ever even tell the kid where this room was to begin with? I mean, really, we deal with the younglings every day; do you know how many of his little friends he’s probably told by now? Before we know it, this place will be infested with them—”
“He brought cookies,” Sephiroth pointed out.
“Like, for Minerva’s sake...—wait, cookies?” Genesis repeated, pulling his head out his metaphorical hind to see Zack had indeed pulled out a small baggie of chocolate chip cookies from his pocket, and his eyes widened. “Those aren’t for us... are they?”
“‘Course they are!” Zack proudly chirped, peeling open the baggie to pull three fresh-baked sweets out. “Wanted to make something sweet tor ShinRa’s sweetest SOLDIERs. Made ‘em myself.”
Genesis’s eyes widened further, the embers suddenly smothered as he gestured for Zack to enter. “Well, what are you standing by the door for? Come in, come in! We’d love to have you here!”
His own eyes gleaming, Zack bounded into the heart of the lounge where all three Firsts were situated, dishing out the delicious treats to each of his wonderful heroes.
“Much obliged!” Genesis thanked, graciously accepting the offered the cookie.
“Thank you,” Sephiroth nodded with a faint smile, offering Zack a secret hair-ruffle before the boy skipped over to his mentor.
“Thanks, pup,” Angeal chuckled warmly, studying the cookie as one would a fine gemstone. “You really made these yourself?”
“You bet!” Zack beamed. “Right in my kitchen.”
“And these aren’t just ‘Tonberry House’ dough you put in the oven?” his mentor smirked.
“Nope, nope! Made ‘em from scratch, right down to the eggs and sugar!”
Not that they needed to know of the mess he had so kindly dubbed, “the egg-plosion.”
He could always just repaint the walls.
“Well,” Angeal’s smirk softened into another warm grin, reining Zack back to the present as he brought the cookie to his lips. “They look wonderful, pup. Good texture, good chocolate chip-cookie ratio~”
“Indeed...” Genesis hummed, then happily took the liberty of taking the first bite—
“Enjoy...!”
—”OH!”
And, in an instant, Genesis dropped the cookie as if it were a steaming hot potato—which, all things considered, it probably could have been, given just how... how...
How malevolently SALTY the things were!
The flood of ungodly flavor surged into his mouth like a salted ocean of chocolate and dough, any semblance of sweetness engulfed in the thirsty saltiness, and Genesis found himself overcoming his extreme mysophobia as he grabbed Sephiroth’s water bottle and took a generous swig; then, as he continued to chug the liquid, he found the water bottle seized from his mouth as Angeal chugged the water for himself, bombarded with the same horrid assault on his senses, unintentionally catalyzing a desperate tug-of-war over the magical remedy, each managing to take a rapid sip before it was rapidly tugged away, and this pathetic display continued until nary a single bead of water was left in the silver vessel, completely drained like hungry dogs lapping at a puddle.
Only then, as the two SOLDIERs stood there panting, did the world come back into focus.
...What.
In.
Minerva’s.
MUFFIN—
Genesis’s eyes narrowed, and he glared at the spiky-haired First, who had sucessfully been, like the poor water bottle, drained off any color on his face.
“...ZACKARY—” he started again.
“I... uh...”
“You put... SALT in the COOKIES?”
“...You know, now that i’m thinking about it... I may have grabbed the wrong—”
“What kinda moronic JOKE was that?!”
“...Sugar does kinda look like salt...”
“Do I LOOK like I’m laughing?!”
“...They are both crystaline...”
“DO I?”
“...Should I start running?”
“I’M GONNA KILL YOU.”
And the chase ensued, a blur of red leather hounding a poor, good-hearted SOLDIER out the door, down the hallway, and probably all through the building:
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m SORRY...!”
“Genesis...!” Angeal shouted—coughed—already smelling the flames, and he took off after his friend in fear of his dear student’s life. “Don’t you dare...!”
Meanwhile, Sephiroth remained in the First Class lounge, quite relaxed in his chair, and quite enjoying himself as he casually finished the salt-showered cookie in his hand.
He shrugged.
“I like it.”
And little he know that, his water bottle, sitting completely drained on the floor, had just inadvertently his spread anti-degradation DNA through the bodies of his two closest friends.
The world was saved.

lol thanks for entertaining all my witch poly posts. I told u I'd be obsessing over it
how often does the boys magic work? anyone whose "more powerful" than the other?
lol I made a joke earlier with my friend who I was obsessing the post over with. you wrote that Cloud cursed all their bullied and I was like "imagine he's sitting on the floor, voodoo dolls in hand and genesis'curse book and pouting"
HA! Omg yesssss. Cloud having a full lilo and stitch moment where Rude ad Rino comes to see Zack or Sephiroth or something and Rude finds Cloud on the floor with a jar full of spoons with sad faces on them and Clouds only explanation is “my friends need to be punished.”
But to answer your question. It’s a mixed answer. Technically speaking Genesis is the most skilled practitioner. They’ve been practicing this kind of magic for years (since they were 14 maybe) and study is Gens thing. They are not actually a vampire, they just looks like they should be so people assume theyve been practicing for way longer.
But in terms of who has more natural talent? Cloud. Cloud does things he can’t explain all the time and nine times out of ten his spells just kind of work by accident.
They all have their areas though:
For Sephiroth’s it’s physical magic, he uses his body as a conduit so things like yoga and meditation and manifestation are how he casts. He focuses on positive energy most of the time but Seph has learned his body is a powerful instrument and if you hurt his family he’s not afraid to ask the gods of war for their help.
For Angeal it’s cooking. He puts a lot of effort into mixtures and the right ingredients. Usually there are runes and things carved into gourds and pastry. If Angeal offers you food just… just be careful. He puts a lot of passion into his spells and if you choke on the first bite, stop eating.
For Genesis it’s charms and summoning. A lot of things speak to Genesis, and sometimes they don’t always want to hear it. They wear a lot of wards and make the others wear them too. Zacks constantly finding little warding scrolls in his clothes and when he asks about them Gen will say “somethings following you” which is fucking unnerving but Zacks learned Gen is more freaked out then he is a lot of the time.
For Cloud it’s pretty much anything but crystals and physical spells like spell bags and witch bottles are his go to. He tends to work closely with Angeal to grow things and with Gen to plan spells. He’s the newest as it but his sheer natural talent makes almost anything work. Problem with Cloud is he tends to forget to call the corners and cast circles so sometimes his work is a little too much. This has since been rectified by the others containing it.
Zack has a little magic of his own too. It’s called goth witch impulse control. And it works like a charm.
Gens about to set something on fire trying to banish things that bother them? Cheek pets and let them cry.
Angeals planning to poison someone? Gently holds his wrists and explains why that would be bad.
Sephs about to manifest a meteor to crush a work colleague that was rude to Zack? Brush his hair and explain why that’s called massive retaliation and it’s not actually relative to the size of the incident.
Clouds about to inflict terrible revenge on someone who was cruel to him? “Baby what happened? No no we don’t need to do that, put the herbs down just come and talk to me.”
Zack is… truely the most powerful in the house.

Approachable And Loving
“One sitting on the throne… He who was sitting was like a jasper stone… a sardius in appearance… there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones… upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting… Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder… there were seven lamps of fire burning… the seven Spirits of God… before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal… in the center and around the throne.” Revelation 4:2-6NASB
In case you’ve not figured it out yet, God sits resplendent, impressive in heaven. Francis Chan asked everyone in his book, ‘Crazy Love,’ to ponder just how all-important God is— Almighty God— absolute Ruler and Creator of everything everywhere. Our Creator spoke, “…Let there be light…” Genesis 1:3. Scientists are still discovering new galaxies. Were these galaxies truly newly discovered, or are God’s words actively creating new galaxies now?
Imagine with me, we’ve just entered the throne room of Almighty God. What are the first words we’d say? Since Chan posed this question, I’ve considered it with a lot of thought.
Growing up in the holiness religion, Yahweh was this huge formidable being for whom we had to walk perfectly before in order to be loved. Mess things up, sin big-time and always look over the shoulder wondering when He was going to zap you with sickness and harm. That God was frightening and unapproachable. My puny mind had difficulty absorbing the sights of heaven or imagining what I’d do faced with such awesomeness should I actually get there..
In the book made movie, ‘Heaven Is For Real,’ Todd Burpo’s father deals with the reality of heaven. He’s heard about this God of love all his life. The subtler teaching of approaching a God of judgment had him with that same awaiting of being zapped, that I experienced. Faced with explaining the unexplainable God, Burpo was bereft of words. Sense, logic, nor previously known experiences didn’t fit into any of the unexplainable events. Eventually Burpo settled on the fact: God can do things however He pleases for He is THE Almighty.
My thoughts have come through many difficult places in life. Although I revere God in His awesomeness, I’ve needed an approachable and loving God, which I’ve discovered through reading and studying His Bible. Paul taught God will be what I need, although not always financially. Philippians 4:19KJV “…my God will supply all your needs…. in Christ Jesus.”
In prayer I’ve come to the knowledge He’s our Almighty knowing everything God. Prayer isn’t presenting a honey-do list to God; nor is it pulling the handle of a heavenly vending machine. Worship, praise, surrender, admitting how much we need Him while seeking the Source of all wisdom and answers are all parts of prayer. I’ve learned while surrendering everything to Almighty, I must allow Him to become God over those needs. Taking those needs back isn’t trusting Him to be all His Word says He is.
David understood my feelings: “Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my Help and my Deliverer…” Psalm. 40:17NASB. As I face the largest, most difficult place in my life, I’ve had to pray— ‘God You are my “Help and my Deliverer.” This mountain is more than I can endure.’
How would your prayers change, if you stood in the astounding throne room of Almighty God, as you prayed? What would you say or think? Would your knee willingly bow admitting your need? One day it will. “…That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance,” Isaiah 45:23KJV. Now or later? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Father thank You for being approachable, even as You are the Most High God. Teach us to admit our need for You as we revere You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Roland Kayn — Actual Basic Elements (Reiger Records Reeks)
Actual Basic Elements by Roland Kayn
“The movie will begin in five moments,” intones Jim Morrison. It’s a pivotal moment on his American Prayer album, a public announcement amidst the often-private musings that comprise much of his poetry. Roland Kayn’s music is nothing if not cinematic, and Actual Basic Elements, a recent addition to the Kayn downloads series, brings public address into its narrative fold through extensive use of the human voice. Yet, other modes of expression occupy equal areas of sonic space as the music fragments and crystalizes, contributing to the narrative and providing the occasional plot twist.
It's the way the voice is used that differentiates Elements.” As far back as 1970s Cybernetics 3, human voices and animal sounds merged in the only slightly veiled comradery afforded by Kayn’s unique vision of acousmatic sound’s evolution. Kayn’s choice blend of action and non-action was refined over the next three decades, making this unified half-hour miniature possible. The opening conjures visions of an extraterrestrial public address system in overload, the voices buttressing the soundscape that morphs into its own soundtrack as tones emerge from vast sonic complexes. The voices hold all together, especially in the earlier parts of the reverberant score, often eclipsed but emotively clear. True to its 2005 vintage, the piece is a study in environment, expanding and shrinking in accordance with whatever processes Kayn initiated at its genesis. The Gargantuan reverberant spaces return at 5:10 and at a much higher pitch nearly four minutes later. The score, the nearest musical descriptor that makes any sense, is also rife with recurrence, as with the single pitches returning throughout at various registers. Even these can’t dispel the tape-effect disorientations also typical of the period, as at 19:07, when those dizzying luffs and waves support an only slightly oscillating tone, the whole approximating nothing so much as radio static.
Repeated listening drives the radio metaphor, yet another mode of public discourse, home with authority and conviction. Near the end of the piece, we even hear a bit of unadulterated “smooth” jazz, nearly unadorned, before it dissolves, its components demonstrated to be a major ingredient of what I insist on calling the score. That instant of musical mundanity lays bare a crucial element of what has been occurring to that point, begging other questions. Are the voices meant to simulate tape effects and the music bits of elongated radio transmissions, all layered in Protean combinations? Again, the acousmatic lies at the music’s heart, even if its purpose and execution are worlds apart from territories carved out by Kayn’s colleagues. It’s all quite delicate and elastic, vocal inflections reflecting the sonic fluidities supporting them. The only frustration is the sudden conclusion, a problem in search of resolution.

Researchers have unlocked a key method to faster extraction of rare earth elements
- By Nuadox Crew -
Researchers at Trinity College Dublin have discovered a new method to form bastnäsite, a crucial mineral for extracting rare earth elements (REEs), from fluocerite.
This breakthrough could improve the efficiency of REE extraction, essential for various advanced technologies.
The study, published in Nanoscale, reveals for the first time how fluocerite quickly transforms into bastnäsite through a novel crystallization process.
By creating synthetic bastnäsite rocks in the lab, the team clarified complex natural processes and found that this transformation occurs rapidly at low temperatures, offering potential for more cost-effective REE extraction methods.

Improve your CX migration efforts with proper planning and automation
Delivering anything less than perfect CX is not an option in this day and age if a business wants to see success. Think about it; a whopping 44.5% of organizations worldwide consider CX their secret weapon, the key that sets them apart from the pack. That’s no small number. But here’s the kicker, staying ahead requires constant innovation and agility. That’s where CX migration comes in.
Many companies are shifting their CX infrastructure to cloud-based solutions. Why the move? Speed to innovation, seamless integration, and massive scalability are just a few reasons. In fact, Genesys, a major player in the CCaaS market, has seen a whopping 40% year-over-year growth in its business, showcasing the industry’s booming trend.
Don’t let your CX migration efforts go to waste
So, you’re ready to migrate your CX platform. Fantastic! But before you dive in, let’s talk about some potential pitfalls. We all want our migration efforts to be a springboard for success, not a lead weight.
How automation helps the process
Automation is your secret weapon for streamlining the entire migration process.
Imagine this; instead of spending ages sifting through data mountains, automation tools can fast-track the discovery phase, giving you a crystal-clear picture of your current workflows. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Will You Spare Me Death if I Fool Them All?
⏤ crisis core: final fantasy vii.
⏤ angst, whump, hurt/no comfort, blood and some gore
⏤ wc: 1312
⏤ a/n: a small portion of the aftermath of the training room incident from Genesis's POV and how he got his wing. i started stress writing and it turned into this :^)
— Everything is always uglier up close.
Or at least one can say as much when they inch themselves closer to a vision of beauty, study each sparkling morsel of it, and come to find that the diamonds glimmering beneath their gaze are nothing more than broken glass shards.
It was a notion Genesis knew well. He had insolent habits as a child, but none of them were as curious as his selective observation.
He'd sit bored at Banora's parties—though ever the prim and proper young boy—with his back against a velvet chair, eyes fixed on the finery hung around the nearest neck.
It was always diamond, emerald, or if the victim was pompous enough, crystalized mako. That was Genesis's favorite. He'd maintain a simpering demeanor, oftentimes hiding his smirk behind a fist as he observed them.
Genesis never said a word. He wouldn't dare be seen as an insolent child when the reward of keeping his knowledge to himself was much sweeter.
If he looked close enough, the ugly truth was brought to light with a blinding revelation. Diamond became crystal, emerald became cheap tourmaline, and the mako jewelry they were oh-so boastful about was nothing but green quartz polished enough to pass for a rarity.
Of course, he could never trust Angeal to do the same.
"What's with your coat?"
"H-uh?" Genesis sputtered.
The din of the cafeteria crowd around him muffled as he became hyperaware of his every move. He had good reason to. Each inch of his bare skin, from his naked fingers to the exposed neck above his collar, was under scrutiny.
The question was as good as a taser aimed right at him. Genesis stilled, then felt the meat slip from his spoon and dunk itself back in his soup bowl with a splatter. He held the utensil feebly in midair, his mouth agape and eyes widened at the man sitting in front of him.
Sephiroth sat beside Angeal on the booth, leaving Genesis alone on the opposite side, a setup which in hindsight, Genesis should've known was a tact.
He met Sephiroth's analytical gaze. The green and slitted eyes raked up Genesis's body, drinking in the pitiful weakness of his form before stopping just below his shoulder.
There was something reminiscent of pity— remorse, even—on his face, but Genesis's pride and embarrassment always worked hand-in-hand to blind him toward such things.
It didn't matter. He knew what Sephiroth was looking at, and he knew what Angeal was alluding to: the bulging spot in his coat where a wad of bandages rested beneath.
He put down his spoon gingerly, prolonging the tap of the metal against the wooden table. Then he wiped his lips with a napkin, sitting up straighter and working a smug smirk onto his previous frown.
"Oh, you mean this?" He patted the leather lump with complete nonchalance—even if he was wincing in pain on the inside. "Infinite in mystery. Don't worry about it, it's just—"
"Bandages?" Angeal inferred. "For your shoulder?"
It had been just shy of two weeks since the transfusion—the fruitless, invasive, and painful waste of his time. The infection had only increased, blackening the already bruised skin by day and leaving Genesis writhing with white-hot pain each night.
"Yeah," Genesis looked down, grabbing his gloves from beside him. Angeal's inquiry had stripped away the opportunity to flawlessly lie.
"It's simply a precautionary measure, no need to dwell over it, old friend, hero of the dawn, healer of worlds—"
"Precautionary measure against what, exactly?" Sephiroth cut in with another blow to Genesis's ego. "Is it bleeding?"
"Bleeding," Genesis repeated as he pulled on his gloves haughtily. "Don't be ridiculous, Sephiroth. I need to keep the wound wrapped until it heals fully, lest I risk contracting another infection."
"And it's not? Healing?" Sephiroth pushed again, this time lowering both eyebrows into a judgmental dip. "You look frail."
Genesis shoved his tray of food away, causing the soup to slop over the bowl. Angeal and Sephiroth watched with clear apprehension as the redhead slammed his back against the seat, then crossed his arms.
His eyes were cool, regarding either of them with no more contempt than they ignited.
"It's not." His voice was clipped. "Healing."
He noticed Sephiroth's shoulders slump. "Gene—"
"I have to go." Genesis stood up. "Never a better time to start on those overdue mission reports than when I'm too weak and frail to compare to the likes of you."
Sephiroth lowered his head, no doubt hiding the regret slapped across his face.
"You know that's not what he meant," Angeal huffed, exasperated as he watched Genesis step out of the booth.
"Yes, I doubt I know much at all," Genesis scoffed.
Angeal was at a loss. "Genesis!"
The surrounding tables had started to stare, some bowing their heads as they conversed in hushed whispers. Genesis was stiff, naked before the tongues which would wag if he were to make a scene.
He looked down at the other two men. "I have to go, but who knows? Maybe we can fraternize later, say, in the training room?"
Genesis pinned Sephiroth—who still kept his head down refusing eye contact—in place with his glare.
"Maybe you can finish me off, friend, put me out of my misery."
All Genesis heard was a last desperate call of his name before he dipped past the surrounding tables, making a beeline out of the cafeteria.
Later that night, he recalled the aforementioned notion. Everything, no matter its beauty, always appeared uglier under the magnifying glass of scrutiny.
He was hunched over in the darkness, both knees digging into the hardwood floor. A few red candles were scattered nearby, each of them blurry through the tearful eyes that drunk in their light.
Genesis's knit shirt and red coat lay haphazardly across the floors, blood-soaked and bedraggled beyond prior recognition.
His hyperventilating sobs were the only sign of life sounding around the apartment. Shaken breaths, each more frantic than the last were all he could manage.
Genesis didn't fear death. No, to say he feared death was an insult, a light way to put it. He was petrified, frozen in horror before the prospect that he was withering away, living with one foot dipped in the grave, feeling the eager hand of death tugging him down inch by inch each day.
He slowly lifted his head, then caught a glimpse of himself through the looking glass. It was a pitiful sight, no matter how many sugary lies he told himself to quench his worries.
There was a burning sensation through his spine, like a nail dragging itself through his veins and ripping apart each one with torturous intent.
Globules of blood dripped down his back, marring the floor with crimson puddles.
Something began tearing through his left shoulder blade. He cried as it broke the skin, twisting and snapping. The wet sounds of flesh being torn open melded with the crackle of his spine.
Genesis's back curled as he hunched over deeper. His screeches were raw, shredding his throat, pulling out every last morsel of emotion from his body until he was hoarse.
He felt it; something coming out of him. With his nails digging into the floor, bloody and cracked, he let out one last guttural cry.
And then he felt it. Something unfurled from his back. He felt it like an extension of his body, an extra limb stretching out.
All was quiet again. His heaving breaths slowed. He curled his palms into fists, then used them to push himself up from the wet floor.
Genesis looked into the mirror.
A black wing protruded from his back.
He raked his eyes over his own body, sticky with blood and pieces of flesh, then pinned the dreaded spot on his shoulder.
There, the wound remained intact, as black and ugly as it ever looked up close.

New Light on Moon Rock Formation: Major Puzzle in Lunar Geology Solved - Technology Org

New Light on Moon Rock Formation: Major Puzzle in Lunar Geology Solved - Technology Org
New research has cracked a vital process in creating a unique rock type from the Moon. The discovery explains its signature composition and presence on the lunar surface, unravelling a mystery that has long eluded scientists.

The study, published in Nature Geoscience, reveals a key step in the genesis of these distinctive magmas. A combination of high temperature laboratory experiments using molten rocks and sophisticated isotopic analyses of lunar samples identify a critical reaction that controls their composition.
This reaction took place in the deep lunar interior some three and a half billion years ago, involving exchange of the element iron (Fe) in the magma with the element magnesium (Mg) in the surrounding rocks, modifying the chemical and physical properties of the melt.
Image shows Moon rock, known as high-Ti basalt, sample from Apollo 17 mission like those analysed in this study. Image credit: NASA
Co-lead author Tim Elliott, Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol, said: “The origin of volcanic lunar rocks is a fascinating tale involving an ‘avalanche’ of an unstable, planetary-scale crystal pile created by the cooling of a primordial magma ocean.
“Central to constraining this epic history is the presence of a magma type unique to the Moon, but explaining how such magmas could even have got to the surface, to be sampled by Space missions, has been a troublesome problem. It is great to have resolved this dilemma.”
Surprisingly high concentrations of the element titanium (Ti) in parts of the lunar surface have been known since the NASA Apollo missions, back in the 1960s and 1970s, which successfully returned solidified, ancient lava samples from the Moon’s crust. More recent mapping by orbiting satellite shows these magmas, known as ‘high-Ti basalts’, to be widespread on the Moon.
Image shows a map of the Titanium abundances of the Moon’s surface, obtained from NASA’s Clementine spacecraft. The red parts indicate extremely high concentrations compared to terrestrial rocks. Image credit: Lunar and Planetary Institute
“Until now models have been unable to recreate magma compositions that match essential chemical and physical characteristics of the high-Ti basalts. It has proven particularly hard to explain their low density, which allowed them to be erupted some three and a half billion years ago,” added co-lead author Dr Martijn Klaver, Research Fellow at the University of Münster Institute of Mineralogy.
The international team of scientists led by the Universities of Bristol in the UK and Münster in Germany, in collaboration with The Open University and Cardiff University, managed to mimic the high-Ti basalts in the process in the lab using high-temperature experiments. Measurements of the high-Ti basalts also revealed a distinctive isotopic composition that provides a fingerprint of the reactions reproduced by the experiments.
Both results clearly demonstrate how the melt-solid reaction is integral in understanding the formation of these unique magmas.

*A Wholesome Tongue*
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Remember the tree of life?
_"The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:8-9)._
If Adam had eaten of the tree of life, we wouldn't have had a fallen world.
The book of Revelations gives us an idea of what the tree of life can do.
_"Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations" (Revelation 22:1-2)._
Eating of the teee of life brings healing and wholeness.
Now guess what? The Bible says a wholesome tongue is a tree of life.
This means the tree of life, at this moment, is in your tongue!
When you speak the word of God, you experience healing and health.
Don't speak carelessly.
Speak, knowing your tongue is a tree of life!
Further studies: Proverbs 15:4; 12:18; 16:24; 1 Peter 3:10; Ecclesiastes 10:12.
