As promised, my lil 200 followers celebration (and my WIP Wednesday) so, snippet under the cut!

You shut the door before he can answer, huffing out a deep breath you didn’t know you were holding in, and lean against it. What a long fucking night. Padding into the bathroom, you remove your makeup and sigh into your towel. You stare at yourself in the mirror and bite back tears.

Shaking your head, you will yourself not to cry - refusing to shed tears for him. You walk out of the bathroom and into the kitchen, grabbing a glass from one of the cabinets. Opening the fridge, you reach for the open bottle of wine. Sighing, as you’re reminded of Javi, having shared the bottle with him after a hookup a few days ago. 

You fill your glass to the brim and chug half of it, slamming down the glass on the countertop. You drag your feet towards the living room, plopping down on the couch. Your head hangs in your hands as you curl into a ball.

“Javi!” You perk up at the sound of a woman calling his name. Rising from the couch, you press your ear against the thin wall that separates yours and Javi’s apartments. “Sí, Javi, sí!” Your brain is short-circuiting as you hear her moan Javi’s name. You can’t help but let your jaw fall open, shocked that he’d be so bold to rub this in your face. Tears of anger and heartache well in your eyes. You attempt to storm off until you hear your name.

A man screaming your name - Javi screaming your name. Everything goes silent. Your ears are ringing and your body is hot, flooding with emotions as your head spins. There’s no way any of this is happening.

Suddenly, you hear shuffling and shouting from outside. Running to peer out of the small peephole at the top of your front door, your jaw drops again at the scene playing out in front of you. Cassandra, the woman from earlier in the night, is fixing her clothes while screaming at a shirtless Javi in the hallway.

Of all the things Jing Yuan had brought into your life, it was the normalcy that you appreciated the most. With him, everything felt right — you were less panicked, less pressured, less restless. You'd never known how good it could feel to let the days trickle by with nothing turning in your mind, removed from the hustle and bustle of life, feeling like you were in your own little bubble where everything was perfect. You only had him to thank, because you knew he worked for the peace he shared with you, and the entirety of Xianzhou.

The Dozing General as lovingly as he may be, was so much more than just that. Jing Yuan had to be the most perceptive man you'd ever had the pleasure of knowing. It flickered behind drooping eyes, dull sparks lighting across amber, always something molten in them that stirred at the prospect of change. He'd fix things even before they began to shift out of place; there was careful organisation in the way he lived. Yes, he slept, and that may have been all that anyone else ever bothered to see, but you knew Jing Yuan.

He slept, but before that, it was paperwork — two piles of it that he scanned over, took the words and stored away. His signature sprawled lazily, because he'd been writing it out since the break of dawn and yet, his pen only touched the plans he approved. He slept, and then after, it was overlooking the Cloud Knights, making sure everyone knew what they were doing, making sure they were trained sufficiently in case of a disaster. Really, compared to the amount of time he spent maintaining what he'd built, he didn't rest enough. You could testify to that, you were by his side more often than any other.

It was morning when you'd found yourself back at the entrance of his office, a warm glass of fresh Puffergoat milk in hand. You knocked gently, and let yourself in when his voice invited you to. The click of the door shutting behind you barely registered as you let your eyes drink in the sight of him. Hair slightly mussed, curling prettily over an eye, the other shimmering gold so phosphorescent you had to look away for a second. Taking all your breath, he really was so beautiful it was hard to believe he was a constant in your life. How lucky you were, you'd never be able to express.

“You've been gone long.” Chin resting on lithe fingers, head tilted at an angle that made the sunlight seem as though it was melting on his skin — he was teasing you, in a voice so light and airy it seeped into the crevices of your mind and reverberated.

The glass placed on his desk, your hands brushing through fluffy white locks, undoing his red ribbon and letting it slip. “Did you miss me?” You asked in a whisper that was barely as playful as you wanted it to be, not when you were looking at him in that way, not when you traced the mole under his left eye as gently as you did. Everything you gave him, all your words and touches, like you were so in love nothing could make them sharper.

His features, as reassuring as ever, softening into something you longed would stay with him for all eternity. Happiness in his small chuckle, in the way he pulled you closer and the languid brush of your lips on his. You were wrapped up in that familiar embrace that had quickly become home to you, feeling the beat of his heart, steady, something you wanted to fall asleep to. You closed your eyes, pressed up against him like he was the puzzle piece that completed you. With him everything was alright. Everything was as it should be.

Do you have tips/tricks for someone who is only just getting back into tumblr after years and years away who isn’t quite sure how to start making friends and vibing with people?

Aww thanks! To be honest- i have no clue😭. Uh I think posting your own (non-personal) content helps a bunch. I try to post like incorrect quotes and stuff because it's just fun, but i've noticed that I think that's why a lot of people follow me lol. But anyways, more content means more things people can interact with :)

That one helps especially when you're starting off! It kind of builds an image of you, not just in a personal sense, but what you like and don't like!

A pretty big thing is posting personal content! It doesn't have to be anything like crazy personal lol, just like "ahh i have a test today" or "im gonna cry" is usually good lol (i dunno if this is obvious- but say actual things that you feel lmao)

And then the last one is to kinda just reach out! Like someone you follow/ are moots with posted the personal thing? Ask about it! Try to engage in conversation when you feel comfortable.

Oh adding onto the last thing, it doesn't have to be personal either! Someone you follow/ are moots with posted a really fun post? Add onto it!!! Be like "oh my gosh i love them sm😭" or "WHAT??? GIRL WHAT ARE YOU ON???" lol just stuff like that

But yeah!! I think the main thing is don't be afraid to reach out or talk to people :)
