Currently on a three-days vacation in Carcassonne (Southwest France)!!!

A few facts:

- Carcassonne was first an oppidum, then a Roman stronghold, then the Wisigoths built the first enclosure around it

- you can still see remains of the Roman battlements (smaller stones, some parts are red - pic #6 & 7)

- the Cité was restored during the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc, but the architect didn't always respect the historical accuracy

- Carcassonne is one of the three places that inspired the world of Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin
