It's mermay! Ft the return of my mer-grif au which. mostly just exists in my head but I also did draw it here
anyways I took inspiration of the humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa fish, partially because it's the state fish of hawai'i but mostly because the colors are similar to grif's armor

RvB Monster Realm!AU
@queerchorus wanted to hear about this so here is my most recent and honestly my current favorite au, my monster realm!au. (it's really long and i forgot to add a 'keep reading' thing last night)
It starts out with Simmons. Simmons is a human in the human realm and he's not doing all right. He's got a sucky dad who passive aggressively hates him, a job that underpays and stresses him out, and he's got no friends or acquaintances so he's lonely.
After a particularly bad day at work, he decides he's had enough, and he just runs for it. He takes his in-shitty-condition car and heads down the highway. No two-week notice to his job (bc they don't deserve one), no telling his landlord he's leaving (fuck landlords anyway). He just grabs a few things and leaves.
Unfortunately for him, he's stressed out to the point he didn't realize he's running low on gas, and he ends up broken down on the side of a lonesome highway. There's no service, so he can't call a tow truck (not that he could afford to pay for one anyway). He hasn't seen many other people driving along this highway since he got on it, so catching a ride to anywhere was slim. This poor guy is hitting his breaking point.
As Simmons is about to fuck it and start walking back in the direction he came, he seems something flash by in the woods that lines one side of the highway. Usually, he's smart enough to not go after something strange in the woods, but this guy isn't running on logic right now. Simmons goes after it to investigate.
As he chases this thing, he is only catching glimpses through the woods, he's beginning to wonder if his mind had been playing tricks on him. Then, Simmons catches more than a half-second glance of it, right before it just disappears in thin air.
Of course, Simmons is like "uh, what the fuck?" but, like the idiot he is, he goes to the spot it disappeared at. I don't know what he was expecting, but he disappeared too lol.
It turns out that Simmons had found a portal to another realm. It sort of overlaps the human realm--they co-exist over each other? Next to each other? I'm not exactly sure on the logistics quite yet. But whatever it is, there are folds in between the two realms that sometimes cause portals that can transport a being from one realm to the other.
If you're not used to this traveling between realms gig, there are side-effects like migraines, bleeding noses, etc. Simmons? He passes out.
Now, that strange thing Simmons was following was Tau [one of my AI OCs], the little pet dragon of Mich [my main RvB OC] (he's fit-in-your-arms small, so he's definitely on the littler side of dragon species in this realm.) Animals can sense the portals between realms a lot better than other beings, such as humans and several types of monsters, so they often go through the portals to explore each realm. That's why you get crows in the monster realm and the occasional unicorn in the human realm. Tau goes to the human realm to pick up trinkets and supplies and such to bring back to the monster realm (*cough cough* yes, like Owlbert in TOH *cough cough*).
As usual with each excursion Tau goes on, Mich is in the area Tau had left at, waiting for him. She had dragged Grif along to come with her, since no one else at their place was available (aka, Grif had the weakest excuse as to why he couldn't come along).
Before I go on with the plot, I'm going to explain what each of the RnBs (Carolina and Wash are not included as of yet) are so there's no confusion.
Sarge is a gremlin/goblin sort of thing (I haven't figured out which would benefit the plot and humor level more). He's short and grumpy and is quite into inventing. He's the "leader" of the Red side of the clan/group/pack and is very insistent on Reds and Blues being separate, they definitely all hate each other, blah blah blah. Even though they all live in the same house. It causes quite a many disagreements--like how Sarge refuses to use the front door, since it's on the Blues' "side" of the house, so he uses windows and tunnels to leave the house. Or how the kitchen is on the Reds' "side", and he tries demanding payment any time the Blues try getting a meal they need/want. Sarge also helped design and create the house they all live in... and he designed it specifically special for everyone... and he always takes much care in expanding the house when someone new comes to live with them, whether they're Red or Blue... he's somewhat of a hypocrite.
Grif is a werewolf because yes to a big hairy man. He and his little sister were separated from their pack years ago during migration (uh I forgot if there's another word for wolves traveling from different den areas) (also, they weren't separated by accident 👀👀). They were found by Sarge, who at the time only had Mich staying with him. Sarge took them in and raised them. Now, Grif lives in a house full of morons that he says he hates. He never moved once he got older, though, and doesn't really plan on it. He excuses it as he'd rather stick with a bunch of idiots rather than wander alone until he found a new pack. Really, he cares about them and doesn't want to leave them. He'll never admit that, though.
Donut's an angel. He's got the wings (no halo, though... sorry all) and he does have a true angel form, although not many have seen it. He only shifts into that form when he's genuinely pissed off, which is thankfully not often. A while back, he was injured by a couple of demons and was discarded in the woods. He was found by the RnBs and they took him in to help him get back to health. When he was healed, Donut decided to stay, since everyone was so nice and they were now all his friends, even if they don't always share his cheerful sentiment.
Mich... well, nobody knows exactly what she is, or where she came from. Sarge says that she was dropped off as a baby at his old place's doorstep, and he had taken her in and raised her. She doesn't doubt him... though maybe she should, because he's not telling her the full story. That'll be a plot point later on, though. For now, Mich calls herself a hybrid and loves the mystery of it. Everybody just goes along with it, since that's probably what she was, in some way. They speculate that she's at least part demon, due to her leathery wings and completely chaotic attitude. Despite being probably part-demon, however, she and Donut are best friends. Almost everyone is her best friend, however, because no matter how annoying and chaotic she is, she will find any way to make someone her friend, if she wants to. Nobody complains though, because they like her, too.
Doc is a wizard. He isn't the best at what he does--quite far from that, actually--which is why he had his healing license taken and was exiled from his guild/coven/whatever. That, and he was harboring an ill-tempered poltergeist named O'Malley. Doc can perform some healing magic, some of the time, which is good because these muttonheads of the RnB household are always getting hurt. He might be an incompetent at best healer, but he's a good friend (even if he does like to recommend strange things in the ways of cooking). He had been wandering around a busy market on day when Sarge spotted him. Seeing his now-torn healer guild/coven badge on his coat, Sarge asked Doc to come back to his home to help one of his kids house residents, who was sick at the time. Nervous but hopeful, Doc went with Sarge, and Doc ended up successfully healing them. Doc was more than overjoyed to actually do something right for once. He ended up asking Sarge if he could stay with the RnBa, and Sarge obliged.
I don't know what Lopez is yet, but he was created by the combined powers of Sarge and a wizard who visits on occasion to the RnB residence (it's Florida. He and Sarge are boyfriends). Lopez can speak every language other than "common", which is what most monsters universally speak, or at least understand. Lopez understands it, all right--he just refuses to speak it. And he almost never speaks in a language any of the residents understands--it's a stubbornness thing. Lopez is tired, so tired, but he is loyal to his family companions and sticks with them, despite having the opportunity to leave them multiple times. He helps with Sarge's inventions and tries to improve them... or at least make sure they don't explode anything. (If anyone has suggestions on what Lopez can be, I'm open to hear any!)
Church is what is known as a human reflection. He used to be a human who had accidentally found his way into the monster realm like Simmons had. Church was found by Donut and Mich, who had been in the woods gathering ingredients for a potion Doc was working on. They brough Church back to the RnB residence, but Church was desperate to get back to the human realm. He had friends, and a girlfriend. He wanted to get back home. Sarge told him that there was a way to create an artificial portal that can get him right back to the spot where he had entered the first portal (a natural portal can take you anywhere, and besides, they're very difficult to find). The process to make one, however, was difficult, and finding all of the ingredients is even more so. Despite this, Church was determined to get back home. They found everything (or what they thought was everything) in four months, which astonished the group--it was normal for it to take several more months, even years, to gather everything. Sarge built the portal, and after saying goodbye, Church stepped into the portal. However, the portal didn't take him right back to where he had come from. Something was wrong with the portal, and instead of taking him back to the human realm, he was now in the in-between space of the two realms. Every portal is one-way, natural or artificial, so now he couldn't even go back to the monster realm. So he's stuck in the in-between realm. But there's one good(?) thing about being stuck there is that he can see into both realms--he can appear in reflections in either realm to see into them. Mirrors, water, polished metal, anything like that (*cough cough* yes, another thing I borrowed from TOH). The RnBs put mirrors all over the house so he can appear anywhere he wants. Church now doesn't age, but his grumpiness continues to grow at a disappointingly steady rate.
Tucker is another human who stumbled into the monster realm. He came a few years after Church. He got found by Doc this time, looking for herbs. Doc brought Tucker back to the house, but not before making Tucker carry a bunch of stuff for him lmao. Unlike Church, when Tucker heard about how hard it is to create a portal, he decided to stay in the monster realm. It seemed a lot easier to just learn to live in the monster realm then to find all this rare stuff to make a portal that might not even work. He ended up having a fling with an orc, which produced Junior. He ended up with Junior, since the kid didn't really fit in with the tough lifestyle that particular orc clan had. But that's okay because Tucker loves his son. The RnBs help out with Junior, so he's got a bunch of uncles.
Caboose is a centaur. He was found wandering alone when he was young, and Sarge adopted him took him in. He's the happiest guy in the entire realm and everyone knows it. He's friendly to everybody and often has to be stopped from breaking people's ribs with his literally bone-crushing hugs. Caboose loves giving his friends rides and running fast with them--he often scares them when he starts running fast. Soon after he was taken in by Sarge, he found a baby dragon alone in the woods. He took it in, named it Freckles after the brown flecks on its snout, and raised it as his pet. Freckles grew to the size of a large retriever (still significantly smaller, even miniscule, compared to other dragons in the realm) and is quite friendly, as long as no one is threatening Caboose. If that's the case, he's quite ready to spring on the attack. He can and is capable of tearing off limbs.
Kai is a werewolf like her older brother Dex, but when their mom was pregnant with Kai, she was bitten by a vampire, altering Kai's appearance and abilities. She's smaller than most werewolves (in both regular and shifted form), but has heightened senses and resistance to most vampire and werewolf deterrents. Her regular form makes her appear more like a furry vampire, and her shifted form is mostly hairless, but with huge ears, fangs, and claws. Her "strange" appearance is what eventually got her and Grif left behind by their pack during a migration. (Another reason why Grif doesn't want to go searching for a new "pack"--he doesn't want to encounter his old one. He also would never leave Kai). Despite the whole getting abandoned by the pack thing as a child, Kai is quite cheerful, energetic, and happy to explore the world. After getting found by Sarge, she was able to know what it's like to be in a family that won't degrade her for how she looks (hybrids aren't usually frowned upon, btw. It's just that pack was a bunch of old-fashioned dicks). She's a lot happier in the RnBs household now.
Now, back to the story. Mich and Grif are waiting for Tau to return from the human realm. Tau eventually reaches them, and instead of being ready to come home like he usually is, Tau leads them further into the woods. Puzzled, Mich follows, while Grif groans and complains, just wanting to get back home to eat the Oreos Tau had brought him (the monster realm has Oreos, but Grif doesn't think they taste all that good). Tau leads them to an unconscious Simmons, much to the two's surprise. They're standing there, wondering what to do with him (Church and Tucker hadn't been passed out when they had been found so this is new), and Simmons comes to. He sees Grif and Mich and screams. Mich is like "hey hey calm down!! We're not gonna hurt you!!" and while talking, she brandishes her large fangs and waves her hands sporting huge ass claws around. Simmons faints again gkhfkjd.
Grif's like "wow this guy's a fucking wuss" and Mich is like "we should get Doc to help him". Grif shrugs, and when he makes no sign of moving, Mich huffs in annoyance and races back to the house. While she's gone, Simmons comes to again and freaks out again, though on a slightly lesser level. Grif is quite annoyed and is like "dude calm down, I'm not going to eat you". Simmons tries to calm down and Grif just stands there, impatiently waiting for Mich to return with Doc.
Simmons calms himself down enough to stop dramatically freaking out. He asks "where am I, who are you, and what the fuck was up with the… other…. thing?" (rude, Simmons) Grif rolls his eyes and responds with "you're in the monster realm, human. I'm Grif, and she's my fr--housemate--Mich. Mich is a bit overbearing. you get used to it".
Mich returns with Doc, and Simmons' anxiety spikes a bit but doesn't start freaking out again. Doc helps him with his bloody nose, which Simmons did not notice until it was pointed out, and Simmons asks a bunch of questions about this "monster realm". he finds out about the difficulty to make a portal and is quite bummed. Especially when they tell him that Sarge is the only one around who would be willing to make a portal. He decides that he'll have to do some research to make sure the portal is done right--he doesn't want to turn into a human reflection like Church. Speaking of Church--he and Simmons are cousins and are quite surprised by the reunion. "so THAT'S what happened to you" "I don't want to talk about it".
This is mainly what I have for the plot so far. I've got a couple certain things that will come into the story eventually--such as parts of the journey to finding the components for the portal-- that'll I'll be listing here, along with different species I want to incorporate into this AU.
During the trek to finding the portal ingredients, Sarge tells the group (consisting of himself, Simmons, Tucker, and Grif) that they will have to get past a "moving mountain". Simmons asks what this means, and Sarge tells him about certain mountains that are there some of the time and gone other times. Simmons figures this means the mountain goes invisible, or it's some magic thing. When they get there, the mountain is gone. Sarge urges them to hurry before the mountain came back. Simmons is surprised that they aren't climbing up an invisible mountain, but definitely doesn't mind crossing the huge, open valley. As they're getting towards the end of the valley, the "mountain" returns, except it's not a mountain--it's a dragon, the size of a mountain. Simmons had come to believe that, since he'd only seen Freckles and Tau so far, that all dragons were on the smaller side here, and is terrified to see such a huge dragon. Tucker tells him that it won't hurt them, because it probably doesn't even notice them--it's sight and hearing are too weak to pick up on them. Sarge adds that they need to hurry, though, before the dragon flattens them when it comes to settle back down, and they barely make it across the rest of the valley before the dragon completely lays down.
As stated before, Sarge has been lying about where Mich had come from and what she is. What actually happened was that while out in a forest one day, and found a section of it that was on fire. He heard the wailing of a child. Sarge found baby Mich close to the fire, crying. He quickly rescued her and got her away from the flames. In the distance, he saw winged figures flapping away, and realized that they must have left her there, for some strange reason. He never told Mich the truth because he didn't want her to know she was abandoned, left for dead, in a field of flame. While Sarge, Grif, Simmons, and Tucker are on the hunt for the portal ingredients, Mich somehow finds out about the truth of what happened with her as an infant. She waits until they come back home to confront Sarge about it, and there's a long, drawn-out argument about it. They eventually break it up (read: Caboose drags Mich away from the situation) and fall in an prickly uneasiness around each other. Mich tries to find out who abandoned her in the fire and definitely doesn't find what she was expecting.
The Freelancers are going to have a role in here somehow. York (Mich's biological older brother) is definitely showing up, and he might've been in the plot of abandoning Mich (not willingly). Wash and Carolina are definitely making appearances too. I want to also have CT, the twins, Maine, Tex, and probably others here, as well. I just need to find ways of incorporating them (suggestions on this are welcome!)
The twins are going to be vampires (because they're so pale haha).
And now for the list of species I want to incorporate. If anyone has suggestions for additional species or possible ways of them being involved in the AU, please let me know!
chimera (chimera milk is a delicacy) (its eggs are a tradeable good on the black market)
elves (wood elves, dark elves, light elves)
orcs
dragons (different species) (scales are often harvested for potions, fashion, etc) (dragon farms are common) (there are dragon reserves as well as dragon poachers)
dryads
fairies/pixies (dark and light)
merpeople (partially and fully aquatic varities)
phoenixes (their tears, containing powerful healing powers, are highly valuable)
fauns/satyrs
griffins
harpies
brownies
kitsunes
hydra
sirens (a subspecies of merperson who has powers to draw one in via singing. can be partially or fully aquatic)
poltergeists
ghosts/spirits
witches/wizards/sorcerers
selkies
sphinx
unicorns/pegasi (the plural for pegasus in this AU)

RVB Wizard of Oz AU, because these thoughts just come to me for no reason and you all have to deal with it-
-A group of kids get sent to like, a summer camp for “troubled youth”, which evidently means they have to go do chores on a farm to build character (some of them are known for being brats, some of them just seem to need extra help in class that the teachers don’t want to deal with, and some of them have parents who want to send the kids away for the summer)
-These kids are Grif and Simmons, Tucker and Caboose, Carolina and Wash. The whole twister thing happens, and BOOM; the kids are in OZ, and they got separated (in those pairs), so they wind up following different areas that connect to the Yellow Brick Road, meeting new companions on the way, and reuniting together before continuing to the Emerald City together
-Tucker and Caboose are in the Munchkin Village first. The Munchkins are tiny versions of the Flag Zealots. OOPS, they accidentally killed a “witch” when they crash-landed here. The witch was totally Wyoming, and then ANOTHER witch shows up who’s all ticked off at them for some reason... the main antagonist witch is Felix, Wicked (b)itch of the West. There is some kinda orb/magic crystal ball the witches were fighting over, and now Caboose has it. Yes, the orb starts talking. Yes, the orb is Church. Yes, Caboose carries him around in a basket (like Toto)
-The Good Witch is Emily Grey, who isn’t able to help them much, but she can point them in the right direction (and she finds the others as well, telling them how to get back together)
-Grif and Simmons end up on one side of a large forest, and after dealing with various panic-attacks (involving “there’s no food, we’re gonna DIE” and “WTF where even ARE we” respectively), they start trying to find their way to some kind of civilization. Grif is the one most focused on finding a way home, because he was only supposed to be gone for a summer, and he’s worried about his little sister. As they move through the forest, they encounter a very LOUD-MOUTHED lion who makes a lot of threats about killing them... but the lion seems to be all talk. The lion is, naturally, Sarge, who needs help getting Courage
-Carolina and Wash are in the middle of what looks like farmland, but as they walk around they begin to see that it is definitely NOT a normal place. They come across a scarecrow who seems to be have gotten lost; he explains the other scarecrows at his farm told him to go to the store and get “headlight fluid”. Wash and Carolina explain that the others are probably playing a prank on him. He introduces himself as Donut, and is hoping to get a Brain, so he can do a better job protecting his corn from the crows (and also be able to tell when he’s getting tricked)
-The three groups meet again, and continue together through another forest where they find two robots; one is stuck, rusted in place. The other seems to be out of power. Grif, Simmons, Sarge, and Donut find an oil can for the rusted one, who turns out to be Lopez. Wash, Carolina, Tucker, and Caboose try to figure out how to re-charge the other, when Church accidentally reactivates the robot with his own electricity (“Cool! I didn’t know I could do that”). This robot is named Tex, and she comes along for the ride with Lopez as they accompany the kids in their search to get home. Ironically, Tex and Lopez seem to REFUSE they actually care, as if they don’t have Hearts at all
-Meanwhile, Felix is throwing a fit because he wants to magic-Church-orb. He’s at the limits of his own magic, so he goes looking for people Wyoming enchanted, promising to “help” them once he’s got the orb. One person is Doc, who at one point had been inhabited by an evil spirit Wyoming conjured up with the orb. Although Wyoming’s magic gone, Doc still seems to have that spirit with him? (this actually isn’t something Felix can fix, but he lies to get Doc to help him). After spending time with the group of kids and their friends, Doc realizes he LIKES this other part of himself; O’Malley isn’t “evil” (just, y’know, kind of a jerk... but hey, who isn’t?). So, Doc and O’Malley officially join the kids. Felix is chagrinned by this
-In the middle of this is Locus, who seems to be a “witch with no powers”, but Felix “shares” his magic with Locus (thus, Locus believes he needs Felix around, and does him favors by scaring local villages into paying Felix money. One village is where Doyle and Kimball live, along with Palomo/Smith/Jensen/Bitters/Matthews, and the traveling group helps them build up their defenses before moving on. After dealing with them, Locus begins to question the way Felix uses him)
-Next, Felix hires different bounty hunters to try and catch the kids (including Temple and Sharkface, who have been tricked by Felix into thinking that if they stop the kids, they will be able to get their own wishes granted when Felix has the orb. Sharkface totally does the ‘How about a little fire, scarecrow” bit with his flamethrowers). They fail, and the kids make it to the Emerald City (Lopez meets another robot here named Sheila, and a romance promptly ensues)
-As they enjoy the sights of the City, Tucker meets a lonely kid who has been abandoned here. Tucker knows how it feels to be rejected, so they spend some time together, bonding with the younger child. There seems to be some commotion about whether or not they can see the Wizard, before the kids finally shove their way in. Instead of being helped right away, the Wizard tells them that they must first get rid of Felix. Once again, the kids and their companions set out
-Tucker gets captured by Felix, who threatens to kill him if the others don’t surrender the orb. They figure out how to sneak into Felix’s castle, rescue Tucker, but run into Locus before they escape. Tucker let’s Locus in on a secret he learned when Felix was talking too much; this whole time, HE has been stealing magic from LOCUS. Felix is the one who is powerless, Locus doesn’t need him. After this realization, Locus lets the kids know how to defeat Felix. Water. Water makes him melt. what a world
-Everybody returns to the Emerald City, where they finally discover that the “wizard” is dead... or at least, the person who previously took the place of the Wizard is dead, and the “man behind the curtain” has been pretending to be the man who was pretending to be the Wizard... OK, so; two men came to Oz, just like the kids did. One of them was obsessed with the idea of getting a wish granted, thus bringing his dead wife back to life. When the REAL Wizard refuses to do this, the man attempted to steal the Wizard’s power. The Wizard lost his magic, his memories, and his true form... in his absence, this other man took the role of Wizard, but was unable to make his wish come true, thus losing his life. His companion, a man named Price, has been keeping up the facade by using lights/holograms so it seems like there is still a Wizard of Oz. Now that Price’s illusions are exposed, one final revelation happens; Church was the real Wizard all along!
-Everybody realizes they have what they needed, because Donut proved he can be clever, Sarge was brave enough to rescue the kids, Lopez and Tex can no longer deny they have Hearts (because he loves Sheila, and Tex genuinely cares about the kids; in particular, Carolina helped her realize this). Church and Emily Grey can use their powers together to help the kids go home... but now, leaving won’t be so easy. They really like all their friends here, but they know they have to go home
-Waking up back on the farm, the kids at first think that maybe they just dreamed everything... but, Grif and Simmons both find badges of “courage” in their pockets, identical to what Sarge had. Carolina has  found a little watch in the shape of a heart, similar to what Tex had. Wash finds a pink hat in his backpack, which looks a lot like the one Donut wore to keep his head safe. Caboose has a small glass orb, almost like what Church had been turned into. When Caboose holds it up to the sun, it makes rainbows shine on the ground (Somehwere Over the Rainbow). Tucker feels a little rejected again, because it doesn’t seem like he got anything... then, a bus arrives. Grif’s little sister Kai has come out to visit him, and she made a friend on the bus; this looks EXACTLY like the child Tucker met in the Emerald City! Tucker doesn’t care how to make it work “legally”, he is definitely adopting this kid. This is Junior from now on. The group decides to stick together after the summer is over. There’s no place like home~

If you are doing the ask meme...Would youbever write an RvB Fantasy AU ? (English is odd with verbs chickens crowing and people horsing)
Friend I have Serveral!! I have my CL au which is a cross over with my own original series I’m trying to write. Featuring Alpha as a mighty old Shadow fiend who accidentally bonds himself to Tucker (becoming his literal shadow lmao cause I’m dumb and love puns). Ascended au- Where we have Harrow beings who feast on the flesh on man. I one day hope to do a proper plotting of it cause the Locus Felix plot line was *chef kiss* and Locus’ backstory in that is so fucked up and sad. And Felix is just WAAAY too into being turned into something above humanity. RvB in the Rwby verse- One I’m TRYING to plot once I finish Genderfucked and YOF. So I can’t Spoil TOO much for that since its right around the corner :3c. but I got Something big for Palomo in that one. There’s also a Zesteria au where Felix is the Lord of Calamity who used to be the Shepard. Locus is Wind Seraph often named as a God Of Soldiers. Locus found Felix in the field of war dying. Felix could see him. So Locus saved him. Sharkface is the Primelord Seraph of fire who produces cleansing magic and then disgraces himself when he choose vengance over saving the world. And Mason is a Water Seraph married to an Earth Seraph Megan.  God I have too many help me lmao.

So I got hit with a thought. I was trying to understand the RVB timeline. When did Alpha get made, that sort of thing? So I found several people who lined up the RVB Timeline from the Fan Guide with the Halo universe timeline (because they can either be AUs of the same world, or IN the same world) and I realized something.
Dr. Leonard Church did it first.
You cannot tell me that Church and Halsey did not end up having some sort of rivalry going on. You can’t. Literally apparently Church’s entire AI thesis was on segregating the process between host brain and AI creation?
In other words flash cloning a brain?
And Alpha was made years before Cortana.
Like...I just have this image of Dr. Leonard Church before he went all crazy trying to bring back his dead wife staring at literal proof of concept, an AI created from his flash cloned brain and crowing, “SUCK IT, HALSEY” because he got there first.

2.) I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me - Fall Out Boy
3.) Dust Bowl Dance - Mumford & Sons
4.) King for a Day - Pierce the Veil (this was such a mood when I dumped my ex)
5.) Love Is A Cat From Hell - Chiodos
6.) EXEC_METEMPSYCHOSIS/. - Ar Tonelico III OST (an mp100xAT AU would be so neat...the language used here, Hymmnos, is entirely about emotions)
7.) The Moon Asked The Crow - CocoRosie (I’ve actually a fluffy little Ritshou fic rattling about in my brain for months now based on this...)
8.) Disappear - Motion City Soundtrack (this is a huge fave for when I’m angry)
9.) Fragments - RvB S10 OST (the rvb soundtrack goes so hard hot damn)

AU Square - RvB Bingo Wars
For the Blue Team: a Skyrim AU ft. Freelancers.
Warnings: mild violence, creepy implications of what a necromancer might want with all-female ghosts, and a bunch of Skyrim-specific jargon.
Here on AO3.
Lost Relic
“I told you to duck,” North said again, for the third time in as many minutes. He received nothing in reply as they all began to examine the throne room in earnest, but a moment later he added, “I don’t get why you’re so mad—it’s barely even a graze.”
Carolina sighed and did her best to breathe the way Wash had shown her back at the Fort, but it did little to block out York’s exasperated shout of “Of course I’m mad! You shot me!” or the ensuing squabble. She could recite the key points of each man’s argument by rote at that point, she’d heard similar ones enough times since joining the Dawnguard.
Casting her eyes around the room, she let their bickering fade into the background as she searched for their prize. Her eyes skittered around the icy room, avoiding the body of the necromancer who’d taken up residence in the barrow as well the remains of his… experiments.
“North,” she said sharply, cutting through the increasingly loud voices of both men, “scout down that hall to the left, make sure there aren’t any draugr or more of these... specters lurking around.”
The archer in question nodded easily and headed off while Carolina turned toward their resident thief. “York, you search this room for the hammer while I check out the one through that door,” she ordered, gaze flickering over to the madman who had ruled over Yngvild for who knew how long. “And search the body while you’re at it. We don’t want anything dangerous that he might have been carrying to fall into the wrong hands.”
“As you command, madam,” York said with his usual cheer and headed over to rifle through the dead Altmeri’s pockets.
Satisfied, she moved up the stairs and past the throne, scooping up a soul gem and an obscure-looking book of magic that Wash might find uses for. The priest might really hear one of the Nine in his head or he might be as much of a madman as the Altmeri, but he was on their side and seemed reasonably harmless, so she saw no harm in bringing him a new toy.
The iron door behind the throne lead to a bedroom (or a room that had been repurposed as such), as evidence by the fur-strewn bed—
Carolina blanched.
There was another specter lighting up the room with an otherworldly blue glow—like the one in the throne room, it was a girl. And she was reclining on the bed.
Taking a deep breath, Carolina drew Dawnbreaker from its sheath on her belt and crept forward, but was quickly noticed. The spectral young woman drew a dagger, but a slice to the stomach and a thrust into her heart made quick work of her and, like her sister in servitude, her form dispersed and coalesced into a puddle on the stone floor.
Carolina spared a moment of silence for the poor girl before searching the room. She found a few useful potions on a shelf, a few precious gems and a fat pouch of septims in a chest, a magic staff that Wash might also enjoy, and an unusual red gem in a golden case, but no Rune Hammer, much to her dismay. After casting another glance around the room, she turned and reentered the throne room, hoping York had more luck.
When she stepped back out into the open, she was surprised to see that their other comrades had finished clearing the rest of Yngvild and had joined them. York, casually peeking into a large urn by the wall, was speaking with the leader of the troupe of Companions—North’s very own sister, South—while Butch looked over his scimitar blade for nicks and Maine leaned against a stone pillar, buffing his wolf-themed gauntlets.
She nodded to the two male Companions, who responded with a pleasant smile and an assessing look respectively, before making her way over to her own second-in-command. “I take it you found it, York,” Carolina ventured once she’d gotten within a polite speaking distance. He shrugged and nodded, so she turned to South. “Did you and the others have any trouble clearing out the rest of the barrow?”
South looked at her a snorted. “Please,” she said with a feral grin, hefting up her ghostly-green mace. “It was easy as a sweet roll. Just a few draugr and those shades. That what you’re here for?”
“Yes, it is,” Carolina answered, glancing at the large warhammer now holstered on York’s back. Then, frowning, she looked around the room. “Where’s Connie?”
“I sent her to catch up with my brother,” South said, jerking her chin in the direction Carolina had sent him earlier. The movement drew attention to the golden-bronze circlet holding back her hair; with its pale blue stones and thrumming aura of power, it was surely worth a veritable fortune, but the one time she’d asked North why his sister didn’t sell it and retire to a keep-sized manor, he’d laughed so hard he’d cried and remarked that with all the trouble it had been to procure the damn thing, she had better not. He refused to say more on the subject and Carolina didn’t feel comfortable asking the other woman herself.
A moment later, footsteps echoed through the icy fortress and they all turned to see two brown-clad figures jogging up the incline. “Uh, boss?” North called, sounded unnerved. “You’re going to want to see this.”
“Found something worse than a necromancer,” York joked, twirling a bright green jewel between his fingers, but they all followed the archer and mage through the glacial passageway without much complaint. The thief began complaining immediately, both about the graze North had given him earlier as well as the frigid temperatures, but seeing as the armor he’d chosen from Fort Dawnguard had neither pauldrons nor sleeves, he didn’t gain much more than a cuff to the back of the head from Maine.
They bypassed a window cut into the stone walls in favor of the door and came to a stunned stop at the threshold to the room at the end of the hall. No less than half a dozen bodies—all young women of various races—lie scattered around the room. Nobody spoke for a long moment.
“Alright,” Carolina croaked, blinking rapidly. “We obviously can’t just leave them like this.”
Various noises of assent greeted that statement, and without speaking, they all began to gather the bodies and place them in a row against the wall. That done, Carolina looked at the twins for what to do next, being the only Nords in the group. Brother and sister glanced at each other before speaking a few solemn words over the bodies and setting them alight, as they were also the only ones with any Destructive spells in their arsenals.
After that depressing scene, they all filed down the last corridor and up the spiral staircase, a much more subdued group than they had been when they’d arrived. Seeing the lengths to which evil mages would go in order to further their own mad goals had that effect, Carolina mused, remembering her own father and what he’d done in his grief when they’d lost her mother.
She managed a half-hearted smile at York’s victorious crowing when it turned out that past the iron door at the top of the wooden stairs was a lever connected to a secret door hidden in the rock. North grudgingly handed over a modest pouch of septims to the tune of his sister’s mocking while they all headed for the barrow’s exit, either avoiding the sight of all of the ghostly remains or defiantly looking at each of them.
Stepping back out into the late-morning light brought with it flurries of snow, bone-chilling winds, and even more complaining from York. Tacitly agreeing to stay together until they once again reached Dawnstar, they hiked back down to where the twins had carved a path of solid ice in the ocean water between Yngvild’s host island and the mainland.
The second hike was almost worse as the winds picked up and the snowbanks gained in height, but eventually they crested a hill and saw the almost-pathetically welcome sight of Dawnstar before them. Much to the menfolk’s very vocal appreciation, both groups headed for the Windpeak Inn—the Dawnguard because Carolina knew she wouldn’t hear the end of it if they had to brave the carriage-ride back to less glacial pastures without first defrosting, and the Companions because Connie evidently had business with the court wizard over in the White Hall.
With their latest adventure over and done with, they all settled down in front of the fire with food and drink and began to socialize in earnest. Nursing her own cup of mead, Carolina thought how grateful she was to be a part of something.

[ID: A digital drawing with a gray frame around it styled to look like a photo. In the background is a simply drawn tree, along with blue sky with a single cloud. In the foreground is a group of people. On the far left is the director, leonard church, from red vs blue. He is standing with his arms down, with a neutral expression, and is wearing a gray, long sleeved shirt with the project freelancer logo and jeans. To the right of him is a younger version of Carolina, at about 8 years old. She is standing with her arms down, and is grinning. She is wearing a teal t-shirt and jeans. To the right of her is a 4 year old version of Simmons, who looks solemn, and is wearing a long sleeved maroon shirt, the sleeves covering his hands, and khaki shorts. To the right of him is Allison Church, who is kneeling, her hands on the shoulders of 3 year old versions of Church and Washington. Allison is grinning, and red roots are visible in her blond hair. She is wearing a black t-shirt and beige pants. Church is frowning, tears streaming down his cheeks, and he is wearing a light blue t-shirt and jeans. Wash looks almost identical to Church, except that he is smiling slightly, and there is only a single tear in his eye, and he is wearing a gray shirt with yellow stripes at the shoulders. In the bottom right corner of the image is my signature and the date, which reads "gwenjamin 5/11/21" end ID]
Hello this took me five hours anyways i combined carwash siblings and carmmons siblings and also one time i read a fic where church and wash were twins so. Here i am. I started writing an actual fic but who knows if that'll actually be published anyways please dont look too closely at this

Literally I feel I’ve been missing some Grif in my life 😂 also SAME! With all those unpublished fics 😭
Here you go: Grif and huggins getting lost in ikea that i wrote back in april
When Grif steps out of the bathroom, he realizes that he has no idea where the hell he is. He’s pretty sure that Ikea isn’t an entirely human place, and is secretly a pocket dimension. Grif is sure that this isn’t where the entrance of the bathroom was.
He looks around, hoping to catch a glimpse of familiar red hair in the group of people walking past. He has no such luck. He looks everywhere that he can without actually moving, and doesn’t find Simmons.
“Fuck,” he mutters, earning a glare from some mother holding the hand of a little kid.
He knows that Simmons is probably panicking. How long has it been? There isn't a single clock anywhere, and Grif has no idea how much time has passed. He mentally adds this to his quickly growing list of reasons that Ikea is a pocket dimension.
After another couple of minutes of looking, Grif gives up. He’s sure Simmons will turn up somewhere. After all, how big can this store be?
So Grif makes his way to one of the bedroom displays (not on purpose) and lays down on one of the beds. He’s sure this isn’t allowed, but there aren’t any workers around to give a fuck, so he does it anyways.
“I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to be there.”
Grif cracks his eyes open, revealing a teenage girl standing over him. She’s short, with white-blond hair put up in space buns.
Grif sits up. “You don’t work here,” he says. “What are you gonna do, tell on me?”
The girl puts her hands on her hips. She looks at him closely. It’s a bit unnerving. “I could,” she says. “But you seem cool. I’m Huggins.”
“Didn’t your parents ever tell you to not talk to strangers?” Grif asks.
“What are you gonna do, tell on me?” Huggins says.
“Okay, I’m Grif.”
“Hi, Grif. What are you doing sleeping in an Ikea?”
“First of all,” Grif says. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep. Second, I got separated from my…” Grif pauses, trying to decide what to call Simmons. They’re more than friends, right? But they aren’t exactly at the boyfriend stage yet. He thinks. “Roommate,” he decides.
“Maybe I can help,” Huggins says. “What does he look like?”
“A nerd,” Grif starts. “Red hair, kind of curly. Huge glasses, green eyes. Orange sweatshirt that’s way too big for him because he keeps stealing it from me even though he has plenty of his own clothes–”
“I think I’ve got it,” Huggins says, cutting Grif off before he can go into too much detail. She holds out her hand, helping Grif off of the bed. “C’mon, let’s go.”
She takes off, walking at a ridiculously fast pace, leaving Grif almost running in an attempt to catch up. She zips through crowds of people, stopping for a moment to wait for Grif to make his way through.
“You’re so slow,” she complains.
“You’re so fast,” Grif replies. “How do you do it?”
Huggins just shrugs. “Why go slow when you can go fast?”
"It takes less effort," Grif says.
“Anyways, where are you from?” Huggins asks. “I’m from a town pretty far away from here. I doubt you’ve heard of it. The mayor, Atlus, can be pretty scary sometimes but he’s cool. I intern for him, with my brother.”
“Yeah, I’m not sharing any personal information,” Grif says. Huggins pouts.
“Oh come on,” she says. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“I just prefer to remain a mystery,” Grif says. “It’s part of my charm.”
Ten minutes later, Grif is telling her his whole life story, for no reason other than he has nothing better to do.
“So then I went off to college. Turns out a fake it ‘til you make it attitude works out pretty well, because I managed to get a scholarship while doing the least amount of work possible. Anyways, I went through like five roommates that just couldn’t handle my mess until I met Simmons. What’s weird is that he’s like the biggest neat freak I know, but yet he still lives with me.”
“Wow,” Huggins says.
“Yeah,” Grif says.

Tell me about your AU!
ive got like. seven different rvb aus bouncing around in my brain but i will choose one to infodump about (superhero au) lets go
Ok superhero au. So basically first, superpowers are a thing that exists. Im gonna put a snippet of the 8k words that i have written for this right here because i worded it a whole lot better a few weeks ago
--
“When people with powers started showing up, the first thing people did wasn't fear them. And it wasn't worshipping them either. Instead, people profited. Used them as party tricks, or a way to become famous.
The first powers were mundane. Changing your eye color at will. Tinny bolts of electricity coming out of your fingertips when you snapped your fingers. They were less powers and more neat tricks.
But then, someone with enhanced speed saved fifteen people from a burning apartment, without so much as their hair getting singed, and people started realizing they could be something more.
And so superheroes began popping up, each with their own sponsor or agency or something because if there was a chance to profit, people would take it.”
--
Anyways so the director creates a program, supposedly for people to learn to use their powers, or to defend themselves and civilians. But, it really wasn’t created for noble causes. The director’s just exploiting them, using them to sell merch and to make money. And the supervillains that the freelancers fight were created by the project itself.
Vic is one of the director’s recruiters, except instead of recruiting the best of the best, he recruits the best of the worst, finds people with decent superpowers to test out the supervillains. (fun fact this idea actually. Came to me in a dream. Like i had a dream in which vic showed up at simmons’ house to recruit him)
Project freelancer also has a “sidekick program”, which is basically just an excuse to straight up have child soldiers. Each freelancer is paired with a sidekick, york has delta, north has theta, etc etc.
Church, the director’s son, and Tex, Church’s partner, were the best of the sidekick program. And when they graduated, they became the best of the freelancers, managing to best even Carolina. They were supposed to become agents South Carolina and Texas, but they decided that the greek letter names sounded cooler, and so they kept the names Alpha and Beta.
The reds and blues were the last simulation soldiers recruited before the project fell apart, after too many of the heroes realized that something was up, and deserted, some even fighting against the remaining heroes.
And so the reds and blues were some of the only people left when real villains showed up, (felix and locus).
Anyways backtracking a bit, in their civilian lives, church and tex lived together in a shitty town called blood gulch, and tucker was their neighbor. Later, after pfl falls apart. Wash shows up in blood gulch, trying to clean it up, and tucker finds him. Wash is understandably very shocked when he finds out that tucker was friends with alpha and beta and actually here’s another snippet from my writing. Also church and tex got married at some point and had a kid (epsilon).
--
“"You were friends with Alpha?" Washington practically shrieks, his voice rising an octave.
"Yeah," Tucker says. "Church and Tex were my neighbors."
Washington gapes at him. "They lived here?"
"Yep," Tucker says. "Right next door. Apartment 3B. Epsilon still comes around and babysits Junior all the time."
"So what you're telling me," Washington says. "Is that for years the media were searching for where Alpha and Beta lived, and it was here?"
"Yep," Tucker says again. "They picked the right location. Press never found them. And if you're friends with superheroes around here you're a lot less likely to get robbed. Was a pretty neat perk for a while. Anyways, what the fuck are you doing here?"
"Fighting...crime,"
Tucker laughs. "Crime? That's basically all this place is."
"Things can become better," Washington says.
Tucker studies him. "You really believe that, huh?" he says, a bitter edge to his voice. "Haven't you been paying attention? Alpha and Beta lived here, and even they couldn't clean this place up."
"Did they even try?" Washington asks.
"For a little while," Tucker says. "Gave up after they realized there was no point."
"But...they were superheroes," Washington says.
Tucker laughs again, although this time the laugh is less amused and more tired. "Do you really think Project Freelancer were the good guys?"
--
And now a list of all the characters powers. The freelancers were easy bc armor enhancements
Carolina: superspeed
Church: technokinesis (he can control technology)
Tex: invisibility and super strength
Wyoming: time distortion
Connie: teleportation
York: healing, and x-ray vision
North: energy shield
South: creating explosions

Theta: enhanced senses, and can see 10 minutes into the future at any time
Omega: the ability to possess other bodies
Sigma: mind control, and pyrokinesis
Eta & Iota: they have lightning and ice powers separately, but can also merge into one form
Epsilon: technokinesis
Donut: pyrokinesis
Simmons: illusions
Grif: super speed
Kai: persuasion, can make people do things for her
Tucker: can manipulate energy to create things, such as swords or shields
Caboose: super strength, and the ability to understand and speak any language, including non-human languages, which means he can talk to animals
Sarge: can summon any weapon he wants
Doc: claims to have healing ability, but he isn’t very good at using it
Lopez: is a robot
Felix: can create knives, and also other weapons probably but he likes using knives
Locus: can take other people’s energy, can use it to simply weaken people, or channel it into the form of a sword
Anyways i do have more that i could say but i think this is enough for now. but i will show you a few designs for some of the characters that ive drawn

for wip game! "dark"
"The power goes out, and the room is plunged into darkness, with nothing but the faint glow of Church’s outline visible. The walls seem to close in around Carolina, and the room suddenly feels smaller than it was before. She reaches out and her hand touches the cold metal door, and she tries to get the handle open, but something’s blocking it."
