after arti naturally, hunter was next tho i don't have as much lore for them this time around compared to arti
i think next would be either gourmand + monk + survivor + nightcat or spearmaster, anyways lore belong cut
despite nsh already having established colonies near his facility grounds, he created hunter to assert some control over the delivery of the green neuron fly rather than entrusting it with a regular slugcat or scavenger
due to an array of possible reasons, hunter was afflicted with rot from birth but resources were low so they would have to do and was introduced to the nearest colony to help socialize and train them for the delivery
though they were an outcast due to their artificial birth and affliction and over time their rot only grew worse and worse, but despite this, they always went on hunts/expeditions, whether it be in a group or alone, to train themself and acceptance
amputations, surgeries, and prosthetics could only slow its growth and eventually nsh had decided it was time for hunter to go as any later might've been too late
hunter crossed path with spearmaster and even gourmand's colony (at least when it was much smaller) along their journey and eventually makes it to five pebbles to receive possible treatment, remembering that five pebbles was afflicted with a similar disease
they were met with the unfortunate news that not even five pebbles could cure them, but five pebbles requested a task on top of their delivery task, which was to kill arti, or at least make her leave
taking pity or empathizing with the only other person afflicted, they accepted and well, yknow how that goes if you read the arti post
afterward, they make their delivery to moon and, after she adjusts from being well dead for so long and inquiring about hunter's journey, she suggests that hunter should spend what little time they have left with the closest colony, gourmand's
and thats about it for what i have rn for hunter really, if i were to do a comic or something like that for this au, it would take place either gourmand's colony has moved into metropolis/five pebbles facility grounds or right before
i have more plans for hunter so dw they arent doomed (yet), but for now they just chill in gourmands colony as a hunter/expeditioner i guess lol

[Start ID. A redraw of the official icons of the ten named slugcats from Rain World, arranged in two rows: Survivor, Monk, Hunter, Nightcat, and Gourmand in the first, Artificer, Rivulet, Spearmaster, Saint and Enot/Inv in the second. Each is drawn in roughly the same pose as in the original art and fitted with speculative interpretations of their biology, and the second image is a “dead” version of this. For example, all ten have slug-like rhinophores in place of ears, cuttlefish-like colorful eyes with strangely-shaped pupils, cephalopod-like beak "teeth", expressive barbels or oral tentacles at the corners of mouths, spiny radulas, and the frilly mantle fringes of sea slugs, though otherwise their faces are squishy, simple and mammalian-shaped.
Cream-colored Survivor and yellow Monk both share triangular, bicolored spots matching their eyes (which are tan and brown, and two shades of blue, respectively), small, bumpy fringes, and relatively neutral looks on their faces. Defensive-looking Hunter is mostly a dull orange-pink, though their blobby fringe is a more violent red and their back is purple and marred with lumps. Nightcat is navy blue and flecked with dots of yellow and teal, their rolled rhinophores are a lighter blue, and their shading fractures into stars in some places. Gourmand is almost uniformly tan, their wide, very ruffly white mantle fringe bordered by a spray of white spots, and their beak sticks out from either corner of their smile. Primarily red Artificer, snarling, has yellow markings of multiple sorts, a prominent yellow dewlap and their characteristic dark scar taking out a chunk of its face. Rivulet is a darker blue than usual, with long barbels, red gills and rings, countershading, and a cheerful expression, sticking out their radula. Spearmaster is purple with orange accents, eyes and spots, a large fringe and spines down their back. Saint’s green caryophyllidia are marked by small, yellow diamonds, and their long, thin radula extends far below them. Enot is decorated with mottled red stripes, blue patches, yellow stars, and an uneven and almost cartoonish imitation of blush, though generally the same deep blue as Nightcat, a passive or almost slightly smug look on their face and their rolled rhinophores out to either side.
In the second image, nine of the slugcats’ eyes are crossed out, indicating that these are death icons. They look fairly the same, with mostly expression differences. Survivor is caught in the beginning of a threat display, a karma flower sprouts from Monk’s side, Hunter is burdened with overgrowing, purple and blue rot, Nightcat’s rhinophores are pinned back, and Gourmand looks mildly disheartened. For the final row, Artificer bites its radula between small plumes of smoke, Rivulet drops their expression, Spearmaster looks very startled, Saint looks almost entirely the same besides half-open eyes and their markings greater in number, and Enot grins confusedly. End ID]
If you'll excuse the unusually lengthy ID: the arena meme introduced by @pansear-doodles at long last after a nearly year-long wip status (or, rather, finished a month ago today to honor my own first time playing it!)
Design notes and shout-outs under cut! :]
The following people are some of those who’ve inspired my designs most since I started this eight months ago (or just inspired me to get a little weirder with slugcat biology), among many others for sure, and I thank them for it–but this is simply to bring attention to artists I find cool, and in no way an obligation to interact or anything :]
> @saturncoyote , @carpsoup , @charseraph , @gallusgalluss , @bitsbug , @dopscratch , and @0hmanit (and a special mention to dddeerbo and hunterlonglegs, who’ve since deactivated)!
Survivor: Surprisingly the hardest to pin down the colors for, since nothing with its sibling's palette seemed to match up right (I did have to add in a little blue somewhere for Monk, the beginning of making it clear how much I’m simply going based off of vibes for the colors of scug innards). I consider them, Monk and Gourmand to be part of the same gene pool of slugcats, and even possibly the same colony even if the latter isn't really related, so took a bit of Gourmand's coloring and fit them in with their inspiration: Goniobranchus verrieri. They serve as a bit of an introduction to my ideas of scug traits (i find it really fun how many people have thought to add so many silly sluglike fixtures of biology completely independent of me, buuut here I’m mostly talking about species variation), and like in-game they’re pretty average! They, Monk and Hunter have a couple scars sourced from a piece of Joar's concept art that I'm failing to find, those across the bridge of the nose, under the eyes, and across the rhinophores, respectively, and my Survivor interpretation features many on the back of the neck, as a result of survived lizard bites.
Monk: Their coloring is primarily based off the fact that I associate them with blue fruits, honestly, a bit because I was compelled to establish a familiarity with Rivulet, and lastly inspired by the spots of Goniobranchus kuniei (and geminus, less important to me as one of my characters is a kuniei instead, but more fitting). Between the yellow + blue and the circular marking in the center of their face, they’re meant to bear a little resemblance to an iterator that shares similarities with the characterization I’ve given them, and similar coding of her sibling can be seen on Survivor’s markings around the eyes. As both a “default” slugcat and one whose campaign I haven’t played, though, I can’t say I have much more to point out about em.
Hunter: The whole rot thing made for a really fun time drawing them, and while the color change on their back is a result of this, it’s also an excuse to relate them to Babakina festiva, arguably my favorite sea slug (mostly for sentimental purposes). And to Spearmaster, a fellow messenger slugcat, and it serves as a gradient between Hunter’s pink and the “traditional” color of Rot seen in the DLLs. Aside from their affliction, they’d actually be the plainest in terms of design, as they don’t have any patterns or quirks of body type, just the red + purple and strange lumps + possible malnutrition. I can’t remember if NSH had created them in particular or just...caught + released or something, but it probably wouldn’t be strange for a lab-grown slugcat to be simple like that.
Gourmand: Like the two above, they’re rather plain in terms of coloring and adaptation, and like the two above, I find that fun. I decided it would be nice to avert the “all slugcats being of the same body type, and Gourmand’s out of place as the exception” thing by just...adding more fat to all of them, really. I did want to emphasize their sheer bulk even so, both fat and muscular (not like I couldn’t have still gone further with it, of course, but slugcat anatomy can be a little obfuscating sometimes, and they were intended to look rather plush considering personal size headcanons and therefore the lack of proper gravity), and the thick and flounced mantle looked like a good addition, as per their sea slug Glossodoris hikuerensis. Unlike Survivor and Monk, I didn’t attempt to hold their resemblance to any particular other character (which means a little less to balance out the “default gene pool” thing), so those are all the design notes I have for em.
Artificer: The second slugcat I’ve ever played, or finished the campaign of, my favorite for at least a long time, and the first thing I did was give them yellow accents, the shape of which have troubled me slightly (not quite like the spots or stripes of the others). They’re both a little more appealing and more explosive-looking to me, and considering how early on I played Arti, actually present in some of my older art. It does give them a little resemblance to Saint (completely intentional, two slugcats with strange relations to karma), as well as the fact that its radula is green for familiarity with one of its children (at some point it was going to have all-green markings, even!). I’m generous with their scars, partly because it was fun to overemphasize the one on their face and partly because it does seem like a reckless slugcat, on top of the dangers of its explosive abilities–I’ll probably just keep adding more forever. Mostly-red sea slugs aren’t too common, but Hexabranchus sanguineus works for sure. The ridged, yellow dewlap can expand for combustion purposes, or something along those lines. Arti’s where I began experimenting with a lot of the mildly-offkilter features seen in my interpretation of slugcats, as they’ve once again been a favorite from the start.
Rivulet: I've obviously given other slugcats spots, deeply enjoy the bubbly-soda markings of other peoples' slugcats, and thought seal riv would be cute. Despite not too closely resembling it, they've been government-assigned Hypselodoris bennetti, for color reasons and for a couple sentimental ones. Originally, the colors of every scug were meant to match up with the custom colors I gave them at the beginning of their campaigns, (though Arti, Gourm and Spearmy are the only three who actually apply here, since I've only played through half the slugcats: I gave arti the yellow as mentioned above, gourm brown eyes and spearmy light pink spears, furthered by the outskirts pearl accompanying me and that palette all the way to moon. Tolerance training for eternity in hell cause I already knew about the maroon pearl quest). I initially gave them the colors of the bi flag for fun... but with the limited palette of this image, I was left without pink for a while and decided to see how they'd look in red. I then realized how they now wonderfully matched Moon, and besides, red's a sort of camouflage in deep water! As a side-note, the difference between their eyes and those of others always bothered me a little for anatomical purposes, and the cephalopod eyes were probably influenced by this!
Spearmaster: Inspired as much as possible by @notyourfunnyman ’s wonderful spearmy: designed in a way that helps it fit in with scavengers, at least between the long sensory tentacles, big ruff, back spines and slightly thin/distended anatomy, a form of defensive mimicry. I always had annulate rhinophores in mind, for a little diversity sure, but mostly because the shape reminds me of radio antennae and communication towers (seems fitting for the comms array and being a messenger slugcat)! I started searching for a real-life slug to give them just by looking up their rhinophore shape...and was met immediately and coincidentally with annulate-topped nudibranchs that fit them more perfectly than I could've imagined: Flabellina and surrounding clades, I think Paraflabellina ischitana works very nicely. The orange was completely unplanned, but there wasn’t a place for light pink among the other slugcats’ palettes, and importantly it likens them to both Hunter and Seven Red Suns a little more.
Saint: I am very much a non-furred slugcat enjoyer, with respect to those who aren’t, so figuring out the only visibly furred slugcat was an interesting challenge. I’ve decided that they likely have other, milder adaptations for help in the cold, mainly just more efficient fat storage, and what looks vaguely like fur is instead a bunch of tubercles (called caryophillia, for the second reminder out of three). Their inspiration doesn’t have these, however, Miamira sinuata’s numerous yellow and blue spots (not to mention...whatever’s going on with that shape) and general effect of being the only really green nudibranch I could find were probably perfect for a strange green echo. Not pictured, but their beak-teeth are tiny and flat to make a surface for grinding soft food against with the lack of a functioning radula, which is tipped with a specialized spiny “grapple-hook” for better traction/grip (not to mention the numerous little teeth running down the whole thing).
(Best part of hiding this under a readmore means edits will be seen by all reblogs, I'm mostly sure, because I completely forgot to mention! The spots on their forehead are simple eyes. Their camera eyes appear closed in-game, I like to believe their complex eyesight is rather poor anyways or otherwise reason that they aren't seeing out of those, and while this was far from her REASON for attunement with the world, it does help compensate for mainly viewing it through a canvas of simple light and dark. This, and the fact that their swapped-out "fur" is not only to commit to a lack of hairs but contributes to sensory input!)
Nightcat/Enot: I guess you could say I found the “these two are technically the same person” compelling. (E.g. similar colors, both very strange and enigmatic, and Enot/Inv/Sofanthiel’s remark during the dating sim about getting removed from Arena Mode.) I doubt they’re the only two slugcats in their body, considering humans with DID tend to have more than a few (and I find it very funny that a slugcat bearing resemblance to Nightcat appears in Gourmand’s ending. They’re allowed in the colony and Enot isn’t </3), and I have to credit @faelingdraws ’s art for being what convinced me on it! Their design inspirations come down to trying to balance a few different ideas: making the patterns and palettes of both look oddly similar (special mention to the stars, since those are fun to draw), basing them off of Felimare sechurana and juliae respectively, using blocks of color with the same placement as in Enot’s official art, and specifically making Enot look...biologically reasonable and imperfect, whilst also clearly trying to imitate human displays of emotion (what with...the eyes and blush on that one piece of official art).
Lastly, here’s just a lineup with notes on body shape and size. Most of the nicknames (existing to give a little more space, that’s all) are obvious, and while I can’t remember why I shortened Nightcat to Nox, it is in honor of my friend by the same nickname :]

Reversed Karma AU
Tumblr media
A Rainworld Alternate Universe.
...
The.. triple affirmative has been found- the affirmative that a ..solution has been found, the affirmative that the..solution is portable, and the affirmative that technical implementation is possible and generally applicable.
I remember that cycle... ancients swarmed the stuff, only privilege given to the founder, Sliver of Straw, was leaving us first.
And then cycle by cycle, our parents left..
Spoilered for absurd about of text, and general spoilers.
Saint never wanted to ascend anything. And by the time every last ancient was dead and gone, cycles passed, and structures fell. The green fuzzy thing was not once fuzzy, growing a coat as the rain sent by iterators stopped.
- - So it trailed along, guilty for what was not its fault, bringing iterators to life again. With a new name, [Pilgrim].
-- Footnote : Karma needs are reversed with the Pilgrim. Dying will up their karma, surviving will lower it. Secret passages will be added to cross gates you cannot with low karma, as it is needed to progress. =======================================
Rivulet is an odd case. I wanted them to obviously give rarefaction cells, as they did to Moon originally. So the tale goes they were created by a rebellious, younger Ancient who was fond of life and the cycle. One who refused the common ideals.
-- The swift little mouse they created, was given their own ability to create low-density rarefaction cells (singularity bombs) and refine them into more high-quality cells which the Ancient learned themself.
-- As soon as the news was spread to the general public of the triple affirmative, they sent the [Technician] out into the world, wearing several pearls describing their mission. ===========
Monk and Survivor lived with their colony, and were sent to scout a new home for the colony by the [Mapmaker]. They are named [Guard] and [Scout] in Reversed Karma. They brought Scout's two slugpups with them, even if the journey was dangerous, finding a new home for Scout pups was important to both Scout and their Sibling.
-- They find the tree in journey's end, Guard staying with the pups there as Scout tells the rest of the colony, including the leader, Mapmaker.
-- Footnote: Monk still brings Moon her cloak and several pearls. =========================================
The [Mapmaker] replaces Gourmand in Reversed Karma, making a map for their colony to follow. They are the leader of their colony.
-- Very similar to vanilla, leaving current living to the tree, showing the colony to the new home.
-- Footnote : Rain is beginning to return to normal, without cold mechanic. =====================================
The [Traveler] replaces Hunter in Reversed Karma, created by Five Pebbles to check on the local group. They spawn in the grounds of Unparralled Innocence. They do not have the Rot due to Five Pebbles more careful creation of a purposed organism compared to No Significant Harrassment.
-- Footnote : Cold mechanics are in work in these areas, as UI and CW were revived later than LTTM and FP.
-- Footnote : You may optionally visit Chasing Wind. ==========
The [Mother] replaces Artificer in Reversed Karma. Their slugpups are both alive, with the same explosive quality. They give Pebbles back his cloak and become a citizen after Sofanthiel locks onto them.
-- Footnote : Mother has bad reputation with scavengers due to passing tolls without payment before the campaign. They get a backspear due to one less hand slot having two pups.
-- Footnote : Rain has returned to normal.
-- Footnote : Mother has reduced food needs compared to vanilla Artificer due to needing to feed their pups. ===============
The [Messenger] replaces Spearmaster in Reversed Karma. They were created by Seven Red Suns to send messages between them and their friends, similar to [Traveler]'s check-ins with other iterators.
-- Footnote : Messenger has a mouth, and cannot duel wield spears.
================================================
A note from the OP: I hope you like them.. I've been wanting to show them off for a while. One of my headcannons for iterators was that the natural urges are coded into them with anti-ascension stuff. Like. Make ascension for us, but not for you. This is why they were wildly unsuccessful in finding the triple affirmative. Also.. Tumblr nuked quality of my image :c If u read all this and liked it perhaps a rb?? also hehe funny number thank u all

Game Slugcats
Tumblr media
Our beloved game slugcats are now part of Repurposed!
Here is their role within Repurposed:
Monk, Survivor, and Gourmand now live within the same tribe with Gourmand acting as the big brother figure for the other two. Gourmand became one of the leaders of his tribe while teaching both Survivor and Monk on how to become an adult slugcat within their tribe. Monk and Survivor passed each day with learning and training to become dependable members of their tribe, with their own quirkiness and fun sprinkled throughout the day. They once helped Zen navigate the Outer Expanse towards Upright Carnage's facility ground before separating with him to migrate with their tribe to another place.
Nightcat is a lone wanderer who wanders across the realm on her own. She observed Zen from a distance during his expedition outside Chasing Wind's facility ground before vanishing into the night.
Enot is a joke. Zen has mixed feelings about them.
Hunter and Spearmaster act as double trouble for those who dare to cross their path. Now empowered as Repurposed organisms -Spearmaster's capable of shooting spears straight from their holes and Hunter was cured from their rot infection- created by their Iterators, they became an effective duo that can complete any mission given to them at any time. They encountered Zen multiple times during the series and had his back whenever he needed them.
Artificer barely changed from the game itself, though now she continued her genocide in Outer Expanse following the downfall of Five Pebbles' superstructure due to the rot and the scavenger tribes migrating away from it. She had a fight or two with Zen before they settled down and cleared the situation.
Rivulet was a purpose organism created by both Sliver of Straw and Looks to the Moon to explore the mysterious nature of the void sea. Rivulet was created with a high-regenerative capability and a thick mucus-producing organ covering their body to withstand the high acidity of the void sea. However, during their journey down the void sea, they were struck down by the Void Worm and lost connection to the world above. They lost consciousness for what seemed like an eternity until they woke up and started swimming back up to the surface world. Thanks to their mucus and high-regenerative quirk, Rivulet was able to escape the void sea without any permanent damage to their body. After their escape, time has passed, Sliver has fallen down, and things have changed. Now they need to find Moon, their other creator.
Saint was created by Sliver of Straw and No Significant Harassment as part of the Triple Affirmative Project. However, he managed to ascend Sliver and NSH erased his memory of the project. Meaning, that nobody knows of Saint's existence. However, one thing was left inside of Saint. His purpose. He is The Triple Affirmative. The solution to the great problem. And he will fulfill his purpose. No matter the cost. He and Zen will have their moment. They will determine the fate of this realm.

Something I wish was talked about or explored more is the fact that Spearmaster appears to get affected when receiving a broadcast signal, as they get stunned and convulse for the entire duration of a broadcast, alongside the fact that you do not need the mark of communication to understand broadcast dialogue (I know this was probably done for the sake of gameplay purposes, but it doesn't make the implications any less intriguing!!)
How much do you think they would have understood? Imagine being a little animal on a mission, created to deliver something you do not fully understand by beings beyond anything you can comprehend, and as you walk across the abandoned landscape, you cross paths with a strange, plantlike structure.
The world around you comes to a halt, you fall to the ground, squeezing your eyes shut as the words from those higher beings pierce directly into your skull, for a moment, you can understand everything they're saying.
Their panic. The gravity of this dire situation you've been sent to help. Everything.
And then suddenly, their voices are hushed, you can open your eyes again, and time continues on as normal.
You still have a message to deliver, little beast.

I love your au is there a comic or fic or something i can read???? Also spear-masters and artificers campaign happen really close to each other and considering how easy it is to get cheiftan as spear-master and that spear-master is pretty smart. I wonder if the reason he starts with such low rep is because scavengers are just weary of slug-cats in general because of arti
i WISH. I would love to make a fic or a comic about this AU, but i have bad adhd that makes me really struggle to complete anything... currently i am still struggling to answer the 10 or so asks ive been sitting on for the last 2 months, lol
i am really trying to get over my fear of posting things that are bad/unfinished though, because I'd like to at least start an ask blog. i've told myself that once I've answered the asks I already have, then I can do that. so maybe, someday soon, hopefully. it helps to know that people are still interested, so thank you!
as for spearmaster... I am pretty sure that his campaign comes directly before arti's, so I dont think his starting reputation could be her fault. i just assume scavs are freaked out by him at first because he looks like something that crawled directly out of the uncanny valley, lol.
i have thought a lot about the proximity of his and arti's campaigns, though. in my AU, arti was still a pup living with her colony during spearmaster's campaign, so he couldn't have met her. but he COULD have potentially crossed paths with SK's tribe at some point. so i might do something with that

On February 22nd, 2024, I made my first ever post for Rainworld Roleswap.
Tumblr media
It's been six months… Oh my lord, that's half a year I've spent working on this project.
Originally, the concept started as an ADHD fueled idea, I was mostly curious to see if Rainworld had a proper swap AU— something similar to Underswap.
But it didn’t! Crazy, right? Every fandom usually has some sort of foundational AU, so I was really surprised to see there wasn’t one.
Now, I’m not claiming to be the first to do this.
I've seen many Rainworld AUs; however, a great chunk of them came with significant changes to the main story. Some primarily focused on the slugcats, others changed the lore of the game, but not one primarily focused on the Iterator's actions... ...and that right there led to a lot of possibilities.
So, I began sketching concepts, cross-referencing characters and examining in-game mechanics!
...and now I'm just one page away from finishing Hunter (Spearmaster)'s campaign."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I want to thank everyone who reblogged, hearted, and helped me through this. Here is a list of notable people who've been around the creation of this AU: @sewingkitsshit - My first diehard fan, really cool person you all should check out. @ka0mik - Most of the time, the first to reblog my stuff. Honest to God brother to me. Check out his comics if you want! @tetheredfailures - Amazing talented artist. Made some models and art of my AU's iterators! @coolie-bruv - Great person, great supporter! @debowie - Made art of my AU designs, very early supporter! @gemalawaswrites - I enjoy this person's commentary on my things! …there are so many incredible people as well, but unfortunately, I can't mention them all here.

Slugcat Shipruary 4 - Love Letter Using my Spearmaster design, @whippiekippy's Hunter design and a random TINY slugpup <3
Love Letter is extremely cute. Are these messengers off duty or are they just meeting up whenever their paths can cross? Anyways in this situation they're caring for a slugpup together, resting after a long cycle. Their missions have been accomplished, but they're not returning to their iterators just yet. Kip told me that xir Hunter design is part red lizard and as such bigger than average, I think I might have gone a bit too far with that but uhm. In my defense. GLIZZY???

They proved to be a great team and began to catch feelings for each other. They now work together to deliver pearls. Hunter has gone through so much and Spearmaster is so proud of their girlfriend.
Spearmaster- Any pronouns, Bigender, Demiromantic Asexual
Hunter- They/She, Trans Fem Nonbinary, Questioning
Shipuary calander and extra stuffs under cut
More notes:
Hunter got treatment for his cancer with Spearmaster's help

Late night doodle. Cross between Eyefestation (Pressure) and Spearmaster (Rain World).
Inspired by discord shenanigans and another art of a slugcat eyefestation (Unfortunately I did not see the artist credit. If anyone knows of any drawings like this, please let me know!)

downpour honestly just isnt great. the slugcats feel so.. out of place, almost synthetic. obviously this doesnt apply to spearmaster considering thats their whole thing. however rain world is meant to be a game where you *dont matter*, thats what makes it so unique! youre just an unimportant animal making their way through life, happening to cross paths with larger than life deities. when you strip rain world of that, youre taking away a core mechanic of the game. simply being able to explode your way through the world or power through it at unnaturally fast speeds isnt what rain world was meant to be.
dont even get me started on saint. the religion of the ancients is heavily inspired by buddhism. adding a region that is essentially just hell feels strange to me. and back to my previous point, the whole ascension ability feels so unlike rain world.
dont get me wrong, downpour wouldve been amazing if it simply stayed as a mod! it just doesnt work as an actual dlc.

ideas for rain world swap (slugcats) origins (kinda bad)
survivor <--> artificer - survivor's family (monk and the other three unnamed scugs) are attacked by a scavenger while crossing over the whirlpool i think, and they get knocked in by an explosion and are killed due to the stunning and drowning. Survivor develops a hatred towards the scavenger population for killing their family while Artificer's kids go missing in garbage wastes and she goes after them and they are still alive (survivor can have electric powers to be a counterpart to arti's and arti gets a really complex map to navigate lmao)
hunter <--> saint - saint was an attempt at making a triple affirmative but it went partially wrong, leaving them with turbocancer (their tongue is actually a rot tentacle). Hunter deviated from their original purpose of being a ruthless killer after reviving moon and became a pacifist instead once they realized it was sometimes better to focus on karma rather than violence
rivulet <--> gourmand - slugcats who evolved to keep up with the shorter rain cycles are lacking in food, so rivulet ventures to find more and any new sustenance that can be found underwater. Gourmand's totally-not-exaggerated-story of being a literal rotund god is actually real and they can move faster without exhaustion, but the rot is more frequent due to the timeline changes and global reputation is lower due to creatures being actually terrified
spearmaster <--> inv/enot (monk is fucking dead) - thanks andrew
