Hey TikTok crochettok wanderers, welcome to the yarn cult side of threads, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, tumblr and other corners of the web where our crafty coven gathers.
We have yarn, hooks, needles, snacks, cats, pups, and all kinds of incredibly talented stitchers from all walks of life. The vibe is supportive all the way.
We want to see your WIPS, your finishes, help you learn and celebrate the superpower of turning string into things.
Just stay away from the space behind the fridge. Clint summoned a demon on accident in a pattern translation gone wrong and it’s hiding there.

Facts about Crochet 🧶 Many believe that knitted and crochet items survived in the early period of imperialism. Many communities in this era used this kind of industry as their main source of living. The crocheted and knitted products are mostly purchased by the middle class.  Crochet was known to identify the status symbol of a people from early history. This kind culture was practiced by the royalties who were able to afford buying expensive lace products and make the value of crochet products depreciate.  Many think that knitting and crocheting was developed through the old practices of people living in countries like China, Middle Eastern countries, and in South America. Many people believe that crochet may have been practiced by early cultures to flex the muscles of the forefinger rather than a fashion hook. This theory was accepted by many craft historians because of the lack of artifact crochet products as proof of its traditional practices.  In the early 1800’s, many European communities used crochet products in place of the much more expensive lace made materials. Crocheting only requires fewer materials, and it is also widely accepted by different social classes.  From these periods, crochet was done mostly on thread. The most common widely made products from crochet were filet crochet made in rows either open or close mesh to make a particular pattern. While in the 1900’s, the massive production of steel hooks introduced many products which are made from thread.  In today’s time, crocheting and knitting is the pleasure of many people. It has recently evolved the interest of many people on handicraft making that made it so popular with the high quality of yarns and threads used. The pleasure of making a crochet item is working it with different yarn textures and colors.

My sister and I with Grandma Iris. Back in 2006. So...you know...just a wee while ago.
Grandma Iris did it ALL. She quilted. She knitted. She crocheted. She cooked. She baked. She canned. She gardened. She Did It All. (And I miss her like crazy on the regular.)
I have fallen down the sinkhole of quiltok and crochettok. There are whirlpools and eddies pulling me into the realms of spinnersofticktok and weaversoftiktok, and now NOW there seems to be this trend of sharing videos of making those hexagonal quilts and oh man, I need to quit my job to focus full time on crafty projects!
(Grandma Iris has been on my mind through all of this. I realized today I wanted to have a conversation with her about how she managed having dozens of projects in progress at the same time. I bet her answer would be fascinating!)

The sides of tiktok JJK characters would be on
Part 1 Part 3
If Maki even uses TikTok she'd be on BookTok. Mostly like the book review tiktoks of what people loved and what people hated about different books. She has a section in her notes app dedicated to the books she plans on reading when she has the time. She follows the creators who have a really organised bookshelf with neatly lined up book spines and figurines. If not BookTok then Dance Tiktok. And I don't mean the ones where people are barely moving anything but their upper body, but the ones of people who can actually dance. (there's no way Maki can't dance. Like have you seen how fluid she fights!! body of a dancer for sure) She definitely follows a couple of break dancers and ballet dancers and probably a couple yoga instructors just for the stretches. Maki NEVER comments on videos but she will send a nice 2 minute warm up stretch to Megumi with the caption, "This should be a good one to practice with the other first years."
Inumaki is an avid Tiktok user and would be on ArtTok along with Megumi but really favors the videos of mini comic strips with nice illustrations. He also likes water color paintings that are gone over again with a bright colored pen. He also likes art creators that put a heartfelt storytime playing in the background that explains the comic or the metaphor in the illustrations. If not that then he's on FoodTok specifically cooking. There really is no explanation for this other than the fact that I refuse to believe how the fact that Inumaki can only say onigiri ingredients is completely random. He knows how to cook for sure and sends videos of new things he's never tried to Megumi and Panda with the caption, "Would you like something like this?" He leaves comments on videos of cool food art and says, "nice (food)!"
I doubt this is true but wouldn't it be so funny if Panda just couldn't get off of WildLife TiktTok to save his life. He doesn't like or engage with any of the videos at all but his entire fyp is filled with wild animal videos. The way he would definitely delete the app. But actually though, I feel like Panda would be on Knitting/CrochetTok. How cute would it be if Panda is constantly trying to better his crafting skills to finally make a stuffed animal for Yaga!!! But his fingers are too big to actually hold the needles!!! He probably leaves comments requesting for tutorials on how to do different knots or patterns. "Triple knot tutorial??" or "i dont think you did a tut on bucket hats yet"
