I do think that people that say that BH decision to have the gods reincarnated as humans was selfish forgot that those same gods (with the exception of a few of them) wanted to start a war which would have destroyed Exandria and most of mortal life there (just like the Calamity did, or maybe even worse), had BH not intervened
Most gods don't care that much about mortals and that was made clear multiple times during the campaign, or, if they do care a bit, they still want to keep the status quo and don't want mortals to be free. Gods needed to go in order for mortals to decide about their future.
And yet, despite all of that, BH decided to spare them, despite having multiple reasons to hate them (at least some of them). They gave the gods the opportunity to live and gave religious people (who, are in fact not all good people - just think about what happened in Issylra and how the guards from Vasselheim were oppressing locals and their culture) hope for their future, despite what they represent to most of them
Saying BH were selfish and didn't care about others (when they spent 50+ episodes discussing this matter and showing that they cared about people above all else) doesn't sit right with me
#bells hells#bell's hells#critical role#critical role spoilers#critical role spoiler#critical role finale#bell's hells spoiler#look i am not saying they are the best people out there#but they did their best#and honestly#they way gods are portrayed reminds me so much of oppressive people in the real world#people in power who don't care about poor people out there#with the exception of a few of them#but if you have to change the status quo you have to get rid of ALL billioners#i mean gods#you cannot decide who stays or who don't#every god had to go for mortals to finally be free

One of the things I loved the most about BH final choice? That they gave everyone a choice.
Bell's Hells never had a choice to begin with. All of them were stripped of their ability to choose because someone else had chosen for them. They always felt they were forced to take on this adventure because that's literally what happened. None of them was really free (with the exception of Bertrand Bell probably), the choice of those who surrounded them (Imogen's mom, Ashton's parents, Fearne's father, the Briarwoods, but also the clerics (?) who accused Braius, those who created FCG etc) forced them here. They always felt like they had no willpower.
And so, what did they decide to do in the end? They gave everyone a choice.
They still made up their minds, they advocated for their causes and what they believe was right but still gave everyone a choice. To the gods: run away or be safe as mortals (yes, even Asmodeus or Lolth); to the Ruidians: after having them freed from the Weavemind, they are free to stay on the moon or reach Exandria, where they will help them find a new home. And find their own dreams.
They turned their story, the helplessness they felt because they were forced in this situation in the opportunity to give everyone a choice and do better
That's such a beautiful ending I am still crying over it

Man, and here I thought episode 95 was a light and nice episode for once. I was thinking of drawing Imogen floating in the air while crafting and/or Laudna working on her ambitious build but nooo, it's not Bell's Hells if there's no drama, huh?
Now I wanna draw the last moments of the episode cause Laudna kept breaking my heart. I swear if anything happens to her, I'm gonna lose my shit.
I wish Delilah would just fuck off, like, leave my precious fun-scary lady alone, she's been through enough, I'm tired of your bullshit you evil lying bitch! 😭

Critters laud the Mighty Nein as unhinged chaos baboons, but have they:
Won a heist contest (and repeatedly set the other team on fire (non-lethally))
Won a Mad Max death race
Faked filming a porno in a stranger's basement
Hid multiple dead (and soon-to-be-dead) bodies in a loony tunes hole
Trojan horsed a nonfunctioning robot to infiltrate the enemy base
Dropped an entire airship onto a doomsday device
Danced Flirted with the devil('s champion) in the pale moonlight
Convinced 300 pyromanic lizard fairies to poop on them (which is bioluminescent and smells like lavender) to mask their scent from a giant lethal komodo dragon star-nosed mole
#Kiri was great and Travellercon was great and drugging a mutant monster that looked like a baby was great#but Bells Hells is at least comparable to the Nein#Bells Hells#Mighty nein#critical role#cr spoilers#critical role spoiler#embrace chaos#if you like Mighty Nein I feel like you'd like Bells Hells too#the group dynamic is different but the chaos is palpable#too much chaos to list really
