Born on this day: totally unique post-punk No Wave chanteuse Cristina (Cristina Monet Palaci, 17 January 1956 – 1 April 2020) who made precisely two barbed, weird and distinctive albums - released by the cutting edge Ze label - that flopped commercially and then retired from music. Cristina’s trademark is setting scathing observations to perky music, and she mostly sings and writes within the persona of a jaded party girl or gold digger (a tradition that dates to Mae West and Eartha Kitt). Self-titled debut Cristina (1980) (reissued in 2004 as Doll in the Box) is her mutant disco album. Lushly produced by Kid Creole, it’s campy fun with Latin rhythm in its hips (if you like cowbell, this is the album for you!), but I prefer the 1984 follow-up, the tougher, darker and more cutting New Wave pop of Sleep It Off. Cristina’s venomous, spikily funny lyrics work as wry poetry already, but then she enunciates them in an alienated, deadpan can't-be-bothered snarl (she has “resting bitch voice”, occasionally punctuated with a Johnny Rotten sneer). Here’s a sampling of her wit and wisdom: “My life is in a turmoil / My thighs are black and blue / My sheets are stained, so is my brain / What's a girl to do?” from "What’s A Girl to Do?" is as lacerating as anything found on Lydia Lunch’s 1980 magnum opus Queen of Siam. “Don't tell me that I'm frigid / Don't try to make me think / I'll do just fine without you / Don’t mutilate my mink” from her punk masterpiece “Don’t Mutilate My Mink”. (In their obit, The Guardian describes it as sounding like Audrey Hepburn fronting the Sex Pistols). Like many abrasive early eighties New York punk funk musicians (see also: James Chance of The Contortions), she may initially work best in small doses and for many may be an acquired taste. But think of Cristina as analogous to Campari – once you acquire that taste, you wondered how you ever lived without it. Portrait by Jean-Paul Goude.

hey music anon! I absolutely adored all of the music you've recc'd to me so far! Is it possible for me to ask for some more? I've loved all of it but found that some I have loved the most are EX0, Beyonce, Heize, Monsta X, Tiger goods and wonder girls.
If not that's cool, you've already given me so much more to explore :) I actually ended up getting recommended SZA by spotify and loved her stuff :)
I don't remember everything I rec'd you before, so sorry if I end up reccing something I already rec'd you but I remember your general taste from the first ask and might mix tht in
but also I'm gonna take a LOT more wild swings to kinda test the boundaries a bit, so it's okay for you to tell me what DIDN'T work for you
you might like:
t by 88rising with utada hikaru (disclaimer, the song isn't the greatest but it's nice playlist filler)

Ad oggi mancano all’appello ulteriori reperti archeologici, monete, medaglie e vario materiale riconducibile all’attività istituzionale svolta dall’allora Ministro dell’Istruzione, Pietro Fedele. ... #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article

Tips to discover the ROI of your social media posts
Since measuring ROI on organic social media posts can be a struggle for some, we asked marketers who are successfully measuring their ROI to share how they discover it. Here’s what our marketers had to say.
Use URL tracking
To find your ROI on social media, you’ll need to track how much traffic your posts drive to your website—and ideally, how often that traffic converts to a sale. Jerry Haffey Jr. of Ambrosia Treatment Center says, “The metrics provided by social networks are useful within that platform, but it’s challenging to make real-world decisions with that data unless you can calculate your ROI. When we share a piece of content, whether it’s a blog post, an inspirational message, or a video, we use URL tracking. That way, we know the platform where they came from, and we can get a better idea about what is working and what isn’t.”
Directly ask how customers hear of you
Lauren Patrick of Motivo advocates for asking customers how they first came to know about the company, in addition to using tracking programs. “Whenever we have a new lead come in,” says Patrick, “we ask them, ‘How did you hear about Motivo?’ It’s been great to hear, ‘I saw your Instagram post’ or ‘I heard about you on Twitter.’ Motivo connects pre-licensed therapists with a supervisor to get the hours needed for licensure, and it’s been awesome to discover how active therapists, counselors, and mental health professionals are on social media. On the technical side, we use HubSpot, and the ‘Sources’ report integrates with Google Analytics to show how new contacts converted from social channels. Another tool I’ve used before for marketing attribution is Brightfunnel, which is awesome.”
Examine customers’ engagement
Engagement, or the likes, comments, and shares a post generates is a key measure of ROI on social media. Says Adrian Dolo of Team 15k, “To discover your estimated ROI, you first have to look at how many people actively interact with your content, and have clicked on links you might’ve posted in the past. Also, the number of people that comment under your post, if not in engagement, can help you determine who is ready to be monetized. It is all about your engagement, that is why it is best not to fake it!”
Track time and money investments, and compare to goals
According to Cristina Maria of Commusoft, “An easy way [to measure ROI] is to see how many posts per week you need and how long it takes your team to produce these. Then consider their $/hour rate and compare it to your social media goals and how close you are to them. For example, if a 2% increase in social media website traffic referral takes 3 hours of work per week, then this has cost you 3 x $/hour in sheer man-hours spent on the task.
Use Google’s and Facebook’s tools
The tools built into Google Analytics and Facebook are extremely valuable for ROI tracking. Dustin Radin of Online Visibility, Inc. advises: “Make sure you have Google Analytics set up on your website to track referral traffic from Facebook. Secondly, install the Facebook Pixel on your website and create custom events for specific pages you want to track. You can also create campaign tracking URLs in Google Analytics that will track clicks and conversions from specific buttons or links in your Facebook posts.”
Multi-pronged methods
Rio Rocket recommends multiple steps and measures for tracking ROI, across different content types: “Accurately measuring your ROI and conversion rates on content is challenging, especially when we’re discussing external content outside of your website. Since you don’t have the benefit of analytics software when marketing content through outside channels, the strategy I have personally developed for both clients and myself is to embed incentivized tracking data into your content marketing CTA.”

I would like to clarify on something I've seen the people have said a lot since The Sea Beast came out: the characters we see in the movie aren't pirates.
Why? Well, because pirates were people who stole property from other ships on the sea. There's no evidence in the movie that stated the crew of the Inevitable took away the richness of other nations. Not even in the name of the King and Queen as the corsaires did in their times.
The crew is completely a group of sea monster hunters sponsored by the Empire, they don't steal anything and aren't chased by any law.
I don't know if you like to call them pirates just because they behave like that, still, they're just common sailors and I don't see the point of calling them otherwise.

You can congratulate me if you want, but just to be clear, here in México there's not such a thing like a mexican party for Cinco de Mayo. Of course, we have the day off, there are some commemorations in schools and the representation of the Battle in Puebla, but that's all. So no, I don't celebrate it and I don't consider it as the National Mexican Day. Wait four months later for September 15 and 16 to arrive and then we'll be talking.

Hispanic names (Both genders)
Here I leave a list of Hispanic names for people who write Coco and Encanto fanfics or any other Hispanic inspired story. I'll have reblogged each gender section separatedly because, as always, Tumblr doesn't allow me to have more than 4096 words per post. I'll start with both genders names and red will be used for less common names.

I have something to tell to the people throwing soup at protection glasses of paintings
First of, why do you attempt against art? Do you really think it's useless and doesn't make any difference? Do you have any idea of how much it costed materially, physically and psycologically to the artists, principally Monet and Van Gogh? For these artists, their artworks were literally their lives. If it wasn't about how art made them feel alive by expressing their most profound feelings, was about how with art, they literally won their daily bread. It was their salary. Art meant so much for them as a way to send a message, to open up minds and challenge an elitist society that found impressionism worthless. They were outcasts.
Mainly for Van Gogh, life was rough. He couldn't even afford food, he only sold one (1) of his many paintings while he was alive, and he had way worse phsycological problems that you could ever imagine to the point he had to be half of his life on a mental hospital. But art held him on the worst times, gave him courage to go on. Even more, he tried anything before art to please his parents, to feel worthy, to make him feel useful, but nothing except art made him feel like he was doing something self satisfactory. Art doesn't have more worth than life, but life without art is meaningless. Art is nothing more than the incarnated manifestation of life experiences.Twelve Sunflowers in a Vase isn't but part of a collection that Van Gogh painted to show how much life was worth living for because society wasn't paying attention to little details that form part of our daily lives and make life beautiful. He was a social activist, and it can be seen that portrayed in many of his paintings. That painting you're attempting to, is the ancestor of the camera your pal was holding. Art makes more concience than soup spilled on a canvas.
Your points are very valid, and I agree with you. The World is at war, hunger and poverty is everywhere and we're on a climate World change crisis. Even more, it's outrageously immoral the prices that these paintings cost today. I think it would be better that these museums were open to the public in general but in the end, there is maintenance staff that live from the salary that the money won generates. But how do you expect to end worldwide hunger when you're wasting food on a multimillion dollar painting? Why do you brag of being against oil when you dye your hair with chemicals and use new printed shirts made out of this oil? How much did it cost the ticket to enter these museums? Why don't you spend that money donating to organizations that urgently need it? If the cans of soup you're throwing at paintings were better donated to home shelters or feeding organizations, people would stop starving. If you're against something, reduce, don't waste, be congruent.
There are other things you can do to stop these problems. There's a peaceful economic sabotage that you can do, way more effective than you think:
Stop buying oil based products like plastic, hair dye, cosmetics, clothing. Go for naturally made things, for artisan made things. You can buy clothing on second hand stores, and you'll reduce the massive clothing production that wastes an amount of water litters and contaminates air, ground and water.
Buy to local sellers. Many products are transported by vehicles like cars, airplanes and ships that use oil fuel and generates high amount of co2. The closer you buy, the better you're helping to reduce oil use. Also, go for public transportation or, if your destination is near, you can walk or use other transportation like bicycles.
Reduce your electricity use and the time you spend online. In the present, the majority of electricity is powered by oil based power centers, and all of Internet data is stored on centers that have to be cooled down by electricity so, the less you stay on social media, the more you will prevent the massive production of unnecessary electricity.
Donate money if you can to organizations that search for other electricity generators that are eco-friendly. Donate old clothing to people that need it, and consume food responsibly so you don't leave leftovers. The food that you get left can be donated as well.
Stop blaming art, and start looking to what artists of the past have to tell you and teach you through their paintings instead. Art is World Culture Patrimony. Start living responsibly and take real action, change your lifestyle, and you'll see how change starts becoming true. If no one uses oil, governments will stop producing it.
I will end this post quoting the russian author Fyodor Dostoievsky: "Beauty will save the World"
And this section of one of the many letters Vincent wrote to his brother Theo:
“What am I in the eyes of most people — a nonentity, an eccentric, or an unpleasant person — somebody who has no position in society and will never have; in short, the lowest of the low. All right, then — even if that were absolutely true, then I should one day like to show by my work what such an eccentric, such a nobody, has in his heart. That is my ambition, based less on resentment than on love in spite of everything, based more on a feeling of serenity than on passion. Though I am often in the depths of misery, there is still calmness, pure harmony and music inside me. I see paintings or drawings in the poorest cottages, in the dirtiest corners. And my mind is driven towards these things with an irresistible momentum.”

Very sad to hear of Cristina's death. Annie Nightingale introduced me to Cristina via her request show in the early '90s and I remember it being a total nightmare to track down Cristina’s records in the pre-internet years. I have long considered "You Rented a Space" to be my favourite song of all time. Don't know why, I just like the way it makes me feel. Sleep well, Cristina
