wish i had screencaps to help me sort this post out but alas, my ramblings will have to do. there’s insane insaneeeeeee amounts of foreshadowing for dimitri - whenever i do a replay i’m always a bit thrown off by how in your face it is. obviously there’s felix calling him a no-good, barely-human, more-boar-than-being prince, but felix is also an asshole. case dismissed

i’m only at chapter 4, post-lonato, and seeing dimitri console ashe while simultaneously mourning the loss of innocent civilians via his hand knowing what happens after the timeskip… bizarre. it’s so two-sided too; if one was to go into the game completely blind, they’d think dimitri would clearly take the right path

he talks about all this unnecessary destruction and unneeded killing and then, well… 😅

dialogue from/about dimitri that clings on like a burr. he’s such a tragedy

the first pic - always find it interesting that he says that then looks up through the broken cathedral ceiling. wouldn’t say he’s praying, but more saying that if the goddess exists and is out there he’s entirely aware of what’s been done, what he’s doing, and what he will do.

the second - talking with gilbert is always a bit fun for me, as it is (or was… haha) with jeralt hanneman and seteth, because their old man wisdom enthralls me. gilbert in particular bcuz he provides dima insight more often than not. in terms of this screen cap specifically - and when paired with azure moons reunion scene - it shows and it proves just how bad off dimitri is

yes i’m sad about it, yes my assault on enbarr run ended with six of twelve(?) people in battle bcuz i gave up on strategising. it happens! mercie solo’d a demonic beast though, so whos rly winning?

marrying dimitri went … exactly how i expected it to, despite having not seen the clip before. i knew its where his ‘beloved’ nickname comes from yet hearing it in his voice 🥹

i went to the wayseer in abyss and connected fates for sylcedes/mercevain bcuz who would i be if i didn’t? mercevain is love, mercevain is life. dedue’s ending without dima still saying he stood glued beside him to his very end still hurts, yes i cried the first time i read it

got ashe and annettes ending too. her writing a knights tale after he passes… like what the !! 😭

theres a save slot right before the final two chapters’ missions yet right before choosing who you spend your life with, and i’m heavily considering suffering through assault on enbarr/oath of the dagger battles again if it means i can marry mercedes this time around … though connected fates might get in the way? idek which save it is, but if i can make it happen i will

coming back to this … its been a long week (only 2 weeks of summer break, total shit, all i feel like doing is sleeping 😗) and has included a lot of flipping back and forth btwn twitter and tumblr

and! i realised my beautiful mutuals here do not know my name, while on twitter its my display name - mostly for convenience purposes, as users on there can be sooo picky about things (please refer to ‘hell on earth’)
