so what is this?

well, i use the internet A LOT. i have a very specfic aesthetic i've curated for myself across the web, and i don't see a lot of posts about it that really fit the aesthetic i'm so in love with! so, every week i'll post 3-5 otaku/animecore websites, visual novels, anime, games, decorations and merch links, old youtube series, etc! anything that i find fits the aesthetic and that i feel like i wanna share with my little corner of the web!

well, what even IS the aesthetic?

great question!!! i describe my beloved aesthetic as a mix of animecore, webcore, otakucore, old web, and other kawaii or anime aesthetics!!! this includes elements of technology and early 90s-roughly 2013/14ish web. it also features stuff that you may call "cringe", "moe", "kawaii", or y2k themed stuff. i love anime figures and tacky, poster covered, "loser" or "hikikomori" like bedrooms and overly decorated early 2000s computer setups! i am autistic with a special interest in vocaloid so obviously that's also a big part of it! i adore geocities type sites, old pet raising games, pixel rpgs, anime VN's, myspace type stuff, old webcore/scene gems, blinkies, stamps, and other pixel gifs/grapics, manga, old or abandoned websites and game servers, and much much more!!!!!

Hi everyone, long time! About 4 years or so. I hope you’re all doing well. 

Like for many of you (I would imagine) the last couple of years have been pretty rough. I had to put my attention elsewhere and I fell off the social media map for a while. I’m still working on getting back up to speed and in the swing of things. 

I started a new YouTube channel with my good friend, DJ 5DucK, about all things Japan, and our experiences living there and working in the Manga and Music industries respectively. It's called Cringe Musume. what if kabahana didn’t confess at kabakura’s graduation? i’d like to imagine that if that had ever happened, both of them were too stubborn to realize they had feelings for each other. when they had realized that it was likely they’d never see each other again, there was a lot of regret.

somehow, one way or another they’d find each other. can’t decide if they’d be at rivaling companies. or have them be at the same company, fighting for the same position. either way, it’s like high school all over again. they’d fight like cat and dog, but it’s just their luck that they’d have to work together on a project. tensions running high, staying overtime at work. can’t decide if they’d have a one night stand sober or not.

i think either way, whether hanako was dating kabakura or not, she’d still become an otaku. and kabakura would still be an otaku, duh. pls imagine kabakura’s suprise that it’s practically because of him that hanako is an otaku.

once they get together, i can’t imagine anything changing from canon. but i’d imagine the confusion about who confessed to who would still be the same.

btw it's true that yume and selfship are functionally the same!! i've seen people say they're different, but the only real difference i guess would be that yume will sometimes overlap with general elements of otaku* culture. i started selfshipping when i lived in japan bc i loved the culture around faves (ita bags, shrines, oshikatsu, etc) but at the end of the day it's just proclaiming you're in love with them!
