A name generator!

Bear in mind, not all of the names work out correctly because of nounnoun prefixes and suffixes , but all names are animals and plants native to and found in the general area where Ever Rain takes place!

There are a lot of prefixes and suffixes in here, with over 270 suffixes and over 450 prefixes, and more to be added as time goes on!

It's just a fun little thing to play around with to get some naming ideas, one of my favorite ones that's cropped up so far was Salmonbubble.

Hopefully you guys enjoy it and have fun with it! And if you have any suggestions for prefixes or suffixes you'd like to see, I am always open to adding them!

Their old reference sheets definetly needed a bit of an update! Not a lot has changed apart from some subtle colour differences but I'm happy with these nonetheless.

Kowhaipaw

Kowhaipaw is a young Duskclan apprentice of 6 moons who was brought into the clan by her father Kiwitalon after she was given up by her housecat mother. Since her father's exile Kowhaipaw has been raised by her foster mother Tawnyfeather and half brother Lichenflower, a young cleric's apprentice. Older members of the clan view her with suspicion due to her parentage and her difficulties with warrior training is seen as a sign by some that she'll never be truly a part of Duskclan, especially under Cricketthroat's mentorship.

Cricketthroat

Cricketthroat was brought into the clan at 8 moons of age, found strangled by his own small collar, and was allowed to stay by Tuistar. He was trained by the young warrior Tawnyfeather, who's foster kit Kowhaipaw is now his own apprentice. Cricketthroat has few friends in the clan, due to a combination of introvertedness and the clans distrust of his heritage; although once close with Lichenflower the two drifted apart over time. This isn't helped by Cricketthroat's perceived laziness either. He hopes that Kowhaipaw will be more accepted than him, although her lack of natural ability concerns him.

Although it is claimed that Cricketthroat was named for his dark tortoiseshell markings on his chest and throat, it’s suspected that his name is a mockery of his raspy voice; a leftover of wearing his kit hood collar long after it had been outgrown. He struggles with acceptance in the clan; although he initially found friendship with fellow apprentice Lichenpaw, this stagnated with age. Cricketthroat’s weaknesses, such as occasional lazy tendencies, misunderstood sarcasm and lack of any friends outside of his previous mentor and Tawnyfeather, along with her apprentice aged kits, create suspicions that Cricketthoat can never be fully loyal to DuskClan. Cricketthroat is now mentor to Lichenflower’s half-kittypet half-sister, Kowhaipaw and admires her strength of will, but has some concerns at her difficulties with hunting and fighting.

Lichenflower

Lichenflower's mother died of illness when he was a kit and as a result he spent much time in the medicine den during his kit hood as he recovered. Eventually Lichenkit became fascinated by the knowledge of the head cleric Doespring, becoming her apprentice at 6 moons. His half sister Kowhaipaw, born to his estranged/exiled father, is the most important person in his life. Lichenflower worries that Kowhaipaw’s alienation due to her kittypet blood will strengthen under Cricketthroat's mentorship.

Stoatbite

Stoatbite is the son of Doespring and Tuistar, the two most important cats in Duskclan. He sits at the head of the senior warriors council and is a highly revered warrior, known by some as "Dawnbreaker" for ending the life of Dawnclan's past leader. Although he's an agile and skilled strategist sometimes his arrogance gets the best of him, earning him many scars. Being in such a highly ranked position for so long means he expects subservience from nearly everyone, bar clerics. He also carry's many typical clan prejudices, especially against town cats.

As a result he spent much time in the medicine den during his kit hood as he recovered from illness. Eventually Lichenkit became fascinated by the knowledge of the medicine cat Doespring, who took a motherly role in his life after his mother’s death and father’s increasing absence from the clan. Lichenkit became the medicine cat apprentice at 6 moons. He was initially friends with Cricketpaw after his arrival but became increasingly distant after noticing the clan’s disapproval. Lichenpaw showed empathy, skill and intelligence in healing and became a full medicine cat at the age of 15 moons, named Lichenflower after his mother. It was shocking to everyone when his father returned after his long absence carrying half-kitty pet and half-sister to Lichenflower Kowhaipaw. Lichenflower developed a close bond to his sister after his father’s exile and her apprenticeship to Cricketthroat concerns him. Although he admires the warrior and wishes to rekindle their past friendship, he fears losing the adoration of his classmates he’s built. Lichenflower worries that Kowhaipaw’s alienation due to her kittypet blood will strengthen under his mentorship.

Kowhaipaw was born to a scandalous affair between DuskClan warrior Kiwitalon and Persian kittypet Ginger. Ginger had no desire to raise her, especially considering her mixed heritage would cause judgements in Ginger’s pedigree family and Kowhaikit was given to her father to travel back to DuskClan. She was vouched for by her half-brother and medicine cat Lichenflower, although her father was sent into exile and she was raised by her brother and one of the more sympathetic queens Tawnyfeather. Although the other similarly aged apprentices fully accept Kowhaipaw as a clan member, older members of the clan view her with suspicion due to her bloodline and believe that she has the potential to betray the clan similar to her father. This stigma was worsened when she was apprenticed to fellow previous kittypet Cricketthroat and Kowhaipaw’s difficulties in hunting and fighting are seen as evidence by some that she’ll never truly belong in DuskClan.

Finally made some warriors OC’s! Au where warrior cats is set in NZ and we forget about the terrible impacts it would have on native animals.

So this was fun! I imagine this set in the South Island, probably in the northern half where it’s a bit less cold. It would be cool setting in a NZ bush setting but?? Even the idea of 50+ feral cats going to town on that many native birds makes me uncomfortable. 

I didn’t name them all after native animals I’m trying to have a nice mix of names. Kowhaipaw is my favourite, I imagine her warrior name would be Kowhaiheart or Kowhaispring or something.

Sorry for not posting! Rowing and school were hectic, but the season’s over so I should finally have more time, especially since the holidays start in a week from now.
