Cresselian

The Legendary Lesbian Pokémon Shiny particles are released from its wings like a veil. A beautiful aurora emits from its tail on nights of a crescent moon. Cresselian is a gorgeous Pokemon believed to capture the eyes of male and female Pokemon alike. This is perhaps why it became known as a lesbian Pokemon, and that it is so immensely popular with female loving female Pokemon. Many have joked that Cresselian has converted a number of female Pokemon from straight to lesbian but this is untrue; Cresselian has merely served as the beacon to show such Pokemon that beauty is everywhere and that it is perfectly fine and acceptable to see such in other female Pokemon. Cresselian is believed to represent the crescent moon, which many a lesbian Pokemon have come to worship as well. If a wing of a Cresselian is found, it is believed to give the holder joyous dreams. It is that power, along with its defensive bulk, that many have revered it as a legendary Pokemon. While rarely ever seen out in the open, many have also said that you could see Cresselian’s beauty in the moon itself.

Also, imagine YW wizards meeting HP wizards and being SO CONFUSED. Anyway, do you have a particular direction that you think the series will go in, or something you wish it would do next?

There’d be a lot of “You can’t just throw spells around willy-nilly like that! And what do you mean there are ‘dark wizards’? And how come you’ve never left Earth? What the heck’s a hippogriff?!”

I wish it would pick one or two of the awesome characters and concepts brought up in Games Wizards Play and stick with it! There was just SO MUCH in that book, I didn’t know what I was supposed to focus on, and at the end of it I couldn’t remember half the characters, which is disappointing ‘cause they were all so awesome and interesting and deserving of their own stories.

It’s done! If you’ve seen me rambling about the Spain fic (where Nursey takes Dex to Spain for Spring Break) it is now finished! Here it is! I hope y’all enjoy :)

Thanks to rhysiana and cresselian for their help in betaing this fic! They really were a big help!

Warnings for religious conflict and homophobia.

           Nursey was waiting outside the lecture hall when Dex’s class ended. He had two coffees in his hands, one he was sipping from and one by his hip, ignored. Dex debated going up to him, but then Nursey turned his head and saw Dex, raising the forgotten coffee in greeting, and Dex was forced over. He held out the coffee to Dex as he got closer and it occurred to Dex that Nursey was there for him.

           “Hey, man,” he said, and Dex took the coffee from him. “So, like, Spring Break.”

           Dex took a sip of his coffee and raised his eyebrows over the cup at Nursey. The coffee was exactly how he liked it, with a shitload of milk, even though he always drank black anyway, ever since his brother used to make fun of him for needing cream. Dex tried not to smile over it and failed. “What about Spring Break?”

           Nursey turned and began to walk, so Dex followed. They turned onto the familiar path to their building, though the space between them on the sidewalk was anything but normal. “My parents have this house in Spain, right on the water, and it’s empty.”

           Dex nearly choked on his coffee. “You have a house in-- no, never mind, not even surprised anymore.” He huffed at Nursey’s ridiculously large wealth and went to take another sip of his drink when he realized the rest of what Nursey said. “Wait-- you want me to come with you to Spain?”

           Nursey brushed his thumbs up and down his cup of coffee and didn’t meet Dex’s eye. “C and Farmer already said yes, if that helps. It’d only be a week, and because it’s my idea, I’d pay for it. Or my parents will. It’s kind of a birthday present.”

           “A birthday present,” Dex echoed, dazed.

           “I know we’re-- but I consider you a close friend, you know.”

           Dex swallowed, mind on the other night, all the things he couldn’t come back from. Things had been-- not awkward, because they fit too well to do awkward anymore. But all the easiness that came with their relationship, knowing what the other needed and not hesitating to give that, it had dissipated with that night, and Dex didn’t know how to fix it.

           “Sounds cool,” Dex said, because he had to start somewhere.

(If I have to, I’ll say Ravenclaw, because that’s definitely what I would have been as an eleven-year-old. But the second time I made a Pottermore account, I got Hufflepuff. Maybe I’d be a Ravenclaw with lots of Hufflepuff friends. Or a really smart Hufflepuff.)

Pride, probably. I hold myself to some pretty darn high standards. But I don’t see that as an inherently bad thing.

I did, and then they did something really awful to me, so I don’t anymore.

@cresselian I think we had to learn to draw ours in elementary? It helps that it isn't one of those super-complicated coat of arms things I think most provinces have. But yeah, it flies at schools and things as far as I know - I've been tracking down photos on Google to prove to myself I'm not crazy and it's definitely not uncommon. I'm now curious if BC just doesn't have provincial flags flying at all? I admit I wasn't exactly looking for them last time I went out.

1) How Many Works in Progress do You Have?

I’m currently working on the first book of a planned trilogy of fantasy novels about three sisters who take on an ancient, hungry god. I’ve just started my first draft proper after about 4 years of worldbuilding and I’m super excited!

I’m also working on a musical right now that skewers fantasy tropes and stereotypes. It’s super still in the brainstorming stage right now, but it’s gonna be awesome.

I also have like 10 unfinished Les Mis fanfics lying around on my desktop. And an essay I need to finish.

2)Do You/Would You Write Fanfiction?

Absolutely! I’ve just utterly failed to ever finish a single one. That’s my fault, that’s on me

3) Do You Prefer Real Books or E-Books?

How do we even define what’s real, okay? I tend to read more physical copies than electronic copies, though. I like the feel of turning pages.

4) When Did You Start Writing?

My first real short story I wrote when I was 11, and I’ve been writing fiction since then. I’ve also been working on academic writing since I started high school (I’m one of those weirdos who actually likes essay writing. I find it really satisfying).

5) Do You Have Someone You Trust to Share Your Work with?

I trust @cresselian implicitly, as well as the rest of my writing circle. I haven’t had time to submit something to them yet (school happened), but they’re a great group and I’m gonna have something for them by September. Yay!!!

6) Where is Your Favourite Place to Write?

On my bed, leaning on a pile of pillows, with my laptop balanced on a mound of blankets (it’s where I am right now)

7) Favourite Childhood Book?

The first series I was ever really into was the Percy Jackson series when I was 9. I devoured that shit. I also loved Harry Potter a lot (still do), and I got super into Tamora Pierce’s Tortall books when I was 12. Ooh, and Deltora Quest, I loved Deltora Quest. I got really into Shakespeare when I was 10, and that’s really influenced the stuff I read, and the degree I’m getting now.

Basically I don’t have a favourite book. It’s too hard to choose

8) Writing for Fun or Publication?

Both! I’ve had some academic work of mine published (just in an undergrad journal, nothing special), and I want to get my fiction published as well. But there’s definitely some stuff that I’ve written just for myself that will never see the light of day. NEVER

9) Pen and Paper or Computer?

Oh, computer, definitely. I’m pretty sure I have some form of dysgraphia, my handwriting is literally illegible. 

10)Have You Ever Taken Any Writing Classes?

I’ve taken academic writing classes, since that style’s a lot stricter. But no creative writing classes yet. Maybe someday!

11) What Inspires You to Write?

The stuff I read, the people I talk to, the jokes that stick in my head. I love fantasy, and there are things I want to see in the genre that aren’t there right now. So I’m gonna put them there.

It’s never to late, I will always squee when I see a message in my inbox.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

Hmmm... The first fandom I was actively invested in was Sherlock, for 4 years now. Never wrote a fic or anything, but it’s the first fandom I actively hunted down fics for. 

Besides that, there was the inescapable Harry Potter fandom. You cannot run. You cannot hide.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

It’s not that I have a preference per se, it’s that basically all my fandoms are either TV Shows or Movies. And then there’s tumblr, which makes me ship stuff I never even thought about before.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

Loki & Verity Willis from Loki:Agent of Asgard. This mainly comes from my profond love for Verity, and also the fact that this friendship is one of the most well balanced and healthy I’ve ever seen. I love it. 

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

Fighting against your destiny/your own nature to become a better person. Those indomitable forces push you towards your baser nature, but strive to be better. Stumble along the way. Angst. Have deep personal victories. I will eat that shit up. 

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

As a writer, when you write a scene between character A and B, do you ever consider how shippy it can be? Do you even know? How can you not??? Even if you don’t think about it in the writing room, once you look at the final product, surely you must realize? Characters standing two inches apart, intense glares, surely it must take like two seconds for people to realize “oh, that’s going to launch a fleet of battleships.” 

Don’t act surprised when it finally happens. You brought this upon yourselves.
