My new books arrived today! I've been wanting this herb book for quite some time, so I'm quite excited to get reading. . . My journal-dayplanner expired the end of June, & I love the layout of this new one, plus there's no plastic covers, so that's a bonus! . . The canning & fermentation book was borrowed from our local library for many renewals, so I decided 'tis the season for fresh veggies, time to get at it -- and it's nice to have the option to make one jar at a time to see how it turns out, & whether you like it or not! . . Embrace the space 😊 . It was too pretty to stay indoors so my pretty girl Luna took me for a winter-wonderland hike through the snowy forest. We had a blast! . 🐰 She stopped to watch a big bunny hopping through the brush in the meadow -- & I'm proud to say that she didn't make a peep -- nor did she have the urge to chase it! . 🐇 She seemed content enough just watching it from a respectable distance away, & then we carried on, leaving Bugs Bunny to do whatever he had planned for this day. . The flakes are still gently falling, & it's a huge reminder that things don't always go as we hope for, & we aren't in complete control. I'll place a few drops of Northern Lights Black Spruce in my diffuser, & carry on with my writing while I admire the view from my window-seat 😍 . I remember this day very clearly. My fishing buddy had been razzing me about The cold temperatures that were headed our way, & me, trying to be all brave, said, "I don't care if it's minus 40 tomorrow, let's go." . The next morning he informs me it's minus 43; was I going to honour my statement? . Heck yes! So away we went. . PS In a group with 3 guys, I caught the only fish. This little pike had a lot of life left in him. We discovered this beautiful place a couple of summers ago & thankfully the weather cooperated, allowing us the opportunity to camp here for a few days upon our return from the Yukon. It was a much needed respite after a long, cold summer alone. Reconnecting in nature, far removed from all cell towers..... Pure bliss 🌲. The water was icy, but it didn't stop me from wading in & casting a line for a few hours.
