Having salivated over European food yesterday, here’s the head children’s takes on gastronomy:

#just pav things #Inigo’s favourite food has and will always be paella 🥘#that or a good creamy risotto. rice in it’s most flavourful and nutritious forms is his comfort food ✨#And it makes sense because rice is filling! It helps tide over the heightened anxiety that comes with not eating for long stretches of time #And he also has an affinity for seafood considering he was born in Seraphin. The fondness for it is in his blood.#Especially prawns~ (good thing Amonea has many of them!)#Dism’s tastes in food lies more in the rich saucy/soupy realm of dishes #like coq au vin because I can tell he would like chicken the best #though if he’s anything like me than rajsko omačka should be his favourite 😋#he loves soup and stew :) (remember he had all the time in the world once to slow cook and develop the flavours of these to heaven ✨)#Cynthia’s palate can only be described as unrefined but she loves pizza (don’t they all? don’t we all?)#Matching her high sugar intake anything with a high amount of lipids (fats) is also in her tastes #like cheese and fried things and fried cheese (have u ever tried a cheese schnitzel? THEY’RE SO UNHEALTHY BUT THEY’RE GREAT)#Archie likes his food spicy >:3 He has a much higher spice tolerance than his brother #It’s a direct influence of the spiriters btw. They’ve dulled his sense of taste alongside his vision #And so Archie enjoys spicy things because he can feel something actually ✨#He also likes his starches in the form of noodles 🍝 (Dism is privy to potatoes— especially mashed potatoes— instead)#Archie will eat literally anything though let’s be real. Theon has no preferences because of his upbringing and finds ordering food hard #Ewan is notoriously picky but he likes homestyle creamy cooking with game meat. Me: well, we're out of eggs, so I had to improvise. I have made a weird, horrible meat cake and some lovely potatoes. They should be ready in like 60-90min.

Wifey, looking utterly horrified: I need you to never use the words "meat cake" again

#i planned to make meatloaf #but we're out of eggs #and i don't know how many of you have ever tried to make meatloaf with gluten free breadcrumbs sans eggs but.#it's bad!#so I made a chickpea and onion mash with with almond milk to replace the eggs #i may have made slightly TOO MUCH chickpea mash in fact #so the meatloaf's pre-oven consistency is uhhhhhhhhhh *creamy*#it's laid over a bed of potatoes and I have to say the potatoes are probs gonna just be like #a weird pineapple upside cake style topping for the meatloaf #like they're FOR SURE gonna bake REAL DEEP into the meat cake #which honestly sounds pretty good?#but it's gonna look WILD #imma call it potato upside meatloaf with gochujang glaze and pretend i haven't just made an abombination

Forcing yourself to eat a cereal bar so you can take your meds and having to order take out for dinner because otherwise you won't eat at all for 3 weeks

Or cleaning the kitchen, get groceries and cook for 2 hours and gorge yourself on self cooked comfort food for 3 days

And repeat

#im having my absolute favourite #creamy mashed potatoes carrots and the german version of meatballs #i even put some cabbage turnip in the mashed potatoes #no one makes better mashed potatoes than me #theyre so fluffy and creamy even tho theres no cream in it #just a little bit of butter and lots of warm milk #it has to be warm #otherwise the starch in the potatoes gets hard and the consistency will turn bad
