laura is just so good at inhabiting a character and while i'm hopeful that this is the nuance i don't want to assume. but seriously the hesitation felt like "well, this is it, this is my chance, well we said we love each other so that's enough, i guess, let's just focus on the end of the world" and like there was supposed to be more to the conversation.

HOWEVER the role play of we don't need to say it out loud to communicate/you are my foundation/you are my tether/our tether transcends death IS SO FUCKING CLEAR that i'm rolling over in my grave that it isn't canon and they haven't kissed yet.

that conversation felt so much like a 'we're about to walk into hell and I don't know if I'll ever get another chance to say what I need to say' talk, Imogen saying that she felt like she couldn't say anything since Laudna came back and veering into talking about the task ahead when questioned..

We know that they knew about the moon city and the lattice when Laudna was killed but it being a prison was still technically just a theory (could be wrong?) and they had no knowledge of the plans to free predathos, so we know that that wasn't what Imogen was talking about after that millennia-long pause. They talked about how much they love each other which was a truly beautiful moment but I still think that Imogen didn't say exactly what she wanted, she chickened out of something at least and I don't think it was about her reluctance to not even consider what her mother and the Vanguard are planning
