Hey @quiddie I super duper love love love how you care for new(er) players! Your love for everything from the game to the people who play really shines. Its *hard* to maintain flow through the learning in a home game, and even more difficult in public games. I would imagine its exponentially more so on camera.
You have it down! Reassure, explain, reassure and return focus. Masterfully done on tonight's ep! Love to see it

I have finished the Crown Keepers portion of Episode 93.
I am back to being very very sad.
Im catching up on critical role and I just watched Bells Hells Episode 91.
It’s ok, I’m just very very sad now.

Lolth I realize you may be frustrated with your champion trying to negotiate with you while repeatedly trying to gaslight you that it's not negotiating and then spritzing you with perfume afterwards like it's a gift but you did pick a teenage girl who is Like That

Dorian telling Dariax he’s going to watch him play after giving him the lute. Smiling, then going stony-faced when Dariax turns away. Turning invisible, and leaving him behind, still strumming on that lute.
Dariax, finding a little joy in playing the lute after watching his friend die. Watching his friends leave. It’s going to be okay, because he still has Dorian. He still has—
But Dorian’s gone.

Imagine being magically compelled to leave as your brother is being attacked by a giant spider.
And then he suddenly stops screaming.

i will say i think this tangent was so necessary in terms of building out the world that is happening outside of the bell's hells. none of them have super strong connections to any gods (except fcg), but the crown keepers DO. and through them we can clearly see: the god's are desperate for their champions and for their disciples. they need you to join them, no questions asked. and if you decide not to follow, they'll take you anyway, willing or not. the gods know what is at stake against predathos, and they are preparing for it no matter the cost. we couldn't see it with the bell's hells because of the way their party lines fell – we can see them question the gods, but we will not hear from them directly. that's why this switch to the "other side of the story" was necessary. we needed to know what the god's are doing on exandria. and really, aabria brought it up so much earlier and she was right: are they worth saving?
