6 years already
Hi! I am Sam, the owner of this blog. I am back here after 6 years. 2015. OMG. It’s 2021 and I can’t believe how much I have grown and changed. I was just a student back then. I was a 2nd-year Accountancy student. Now I am a working person. I can’t believe I was able to finish my studies on time. I mean - not that I doubted myself back then. It’s just I did not expect that I would be able to graduate and pass the boards. Woah! 6 years. You know what? I just really winged my college days. Hehehe. Kidding! Of course I also put effort. I also worked hard, especially during the review season. During college, I did have a lot of things on my plate. I was working as a student assistant. I joined dancing/cheer dance competitions. I was appointed as one of the officers of our program (course) organization. I enjoyed bonding with my friends. You see, I am pretty social. I was pretty active back then. In my final year (5th), I tried to focus on my studies. I did quit from other stuff. Parties and bonding with friends were still present but minimized. We also did group study sessions. Good thing, I was able to pass and graduate last 2019. After that, I immediately enrolled in a review school and spent 4 months preparing for the licensure exam. Focused and determined - I was able to pass the boards!
It’s 2021 now. It’s my 2nd year of working as an Audit Associate in a professional services firm. I work from home due to the pandemic.
During these past few years, I experienced a lot. I think all of those experiences change me somehow. I just wish that my core values will still be intact. I wish to keep my creativity and my playfulness. I will try my best not to forget how to become a happy, creative, and playful kid at heart.

Preparatory Tool-kit for CPAs to Be
One of the most common queries that we answer at our student forums is -
Will we be able to prepare for CPA along with a full-time job and we always address it with a quick nod.
And it’s possible if you study smart. From the 90 percent of  CPA alumnus that we have interviewed, we observed a strong trend that they spend more time practicing or revisiting the concepts rather than mugging new-one every day. The success stories had always led to how they have achieved that 75 points cut-off for each CPA subject. It’s definitely not too hard to achieve it. Our experts always recommend three hours of dedicated time to CPA preparation per day is more than enough to pass the four exams in 12 months duration. It does not have to be a continuous three hours daily, if you are a morning person try to work out an hour to study in the morning before you leave for work. Likewise, you can manage your hours and sit back and prepare for your progress. For those, who are preparing for the full time, the tips would help them to shorten their preparation time from 12 months to 6 months if you have planned your studies.
Still can’t stop yourself from procrastinating? Check out our Youtube playlist-
365 Days - 365 Miles Success Stories. Link attached below-
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLf9NGcR_ulpVRCvWC6WT4FVKs3oUbYRkK
What we all suggest to our candidates is to never shift their focus, cause CPA if prepared well, would be a life-changing event for an accountant’s career. Because a CPA to your name adds visibility to your profile, offers global credibility and command over finance planning and recommendation for business decisions. So, why not opt for a power that you are capable of, the power that you can easily harness with some professional guidance.
Without further adieu let’s begin and discuss the disciplines that you surely need to work on-
1) Acquaint yourself with the knowledge areas
Don’t be superficial, go to the depth of each concept that you are studying. Whenever you are reading, think as if you are preparing the concept to solve a real accounting problem and how you will resolve it. This way it helps to memorize the concepts and apply them to the exams. If you have enrolled with Miles you will get an entire gallery of Varun Jain’s high-energy videos which would help you replay the concepts unless you understand the concepts completely.
Depending upon the topics you choose, evaluate yourself on how much you would improve. Based on your learning ability you can take from 100 to 200 hours of studies to be exam-ready for each section. Plus, solve plenty of sample test options available for each section to boost your confidence and will help you to shake off the fear to appear in the exams.
2) Be ahead of the time
Time management has always been a key process and with the CPA exam,  it is no different. But let’s not be reactive this time, just because the exams are knocking at your door and you are still planning for your exam preparation. Rather, soon after you send off your mark sheets to get evaluated for CPA board eligibility, you should plan ahead and get set to become a CPA.
3) The Test Center Strategy
You must have a transparent strategy on the way to follow the instructions of your Prometric test center even before you reach there. Usually, there's a really strict check and that they are really serious about thwarting any attempts to cheat within the exam. Calculators, pens, and every one sorts of gadgets are strictly prohibited within the exam center. Further, they could take any necessary steps associated with candidate verification and screening. In short, you ought to be ready for a minimum of an airport-level entry check.
4)Finish what you have started
Spending 200 hours of study time might appear easy initially glance, but, if you calculate comfortably - it’s no easy streak. You would want  to be focused and have a daily study schedule to ensure being exam-ready.
5) Choose a group of study-audiences
Every year, there's an outsized number of candidates who take the CPA exam. Thus, you're neither an exception nor alone when you go for the exams. You’ll connect with others to make a study group. Further, you ought to also create a support group for advice and encouragement. this will include your family, friends, office colleagues, etc. At times, employers also support their employees and you want to inform your current employer about preparing for the exam. it's not unprecedented the employers to supply their employees paid leaves to review, offer financial assistance, or just motivate you throughout your preparation.
6) Take sufficient breaks
You simply got to study really hard and with a dedication to clear the CPA exam, but, you ought to not ignore your personal wellness and relaxation during this period. Adequate food and sleep are important for your physical and mental concentration. Take an opportunity if you are feeling fatigued and rejuvenate yourself before pressing further with the studies. Don’t go overboard with tests or revisions.
7) Fall to succeed
Winning isn't everything, always. just in case you don’t get through your first attempt at CPA, don’t lose hope. CPA exams don't count your number of attempts. In fact, the ultimate scorecard only mentions the many exams that you simply passed. AICPA also will send you an email, to share your areas of improvement, on a subject and section-wise basis. Use this as a chance to enhance what you missed and prepare better for your next attempt.
8) Ask a mentor
Professional assistance is always an excellent help in exams like CPA. If possible, get enrolled with an honest mentor. The experience of such mentoring will assist you to prepare better and enhance your chances of success at the exam.
Think CPA, think Miles. We are the best-reviewed CPA/CMA institute in India, preparing the candidate to rule the accounting world to earn it like a professional, So be ready with Miles.

Down to the last 2 months of the review period. The level of pressure keeps on rising, but here's a gentle reminder that God is already at work in me. It's all about HIS GRACE - it changes everything.

How many languages do you speak? If you’re like most people in America, English is enough of a struggle. Many of my international followers have 2 or 3 tongues, not including business/accounting. . . And though I don’t speak, whatever language @aj.hustle speaks, we can communicate in English, AND in business. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad! . . Accounting is the language of business. And I am fluent! When Phil Yeager tells you you’re going places, having this language imbedded in me is one of the reasons why. I don’t think they’re any other #cpareview courses producing content like this. There’s a reason we had such a great interview. Of Going to Manila for Review
Assalamu’alaikom warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Bismillahi rahmaneerahim!
After few glitches in my academics, because I still had a remaining exam then, I was finally able to fly to Manila for my final review for the then-upcoming MAY 2016 CPA BOARD EXAMINATIONS. I got myself enrolled already in ReSA or The Review School of Accountancy located in Loyola Sts., Sampaloc, Manila. Also my parents had found me a dorm just one-jeepney ride away from the school - Casa Regina ladies dorm in Felicia St., around Lacson Avenue.
So here it started my final journey to being a CPA!
My room was in the 4th floor, I had two roomies who I’ll be talkin about in my next post. And in this dorm, there was also JULY! and Baudi May. July is a very close friend of mine, we’ve gotten close since our OJT days in Oroquieta. Remember her??? Haha So imagine my happiness when I found out she was still there staying. I won’t feel so lonely anymore.
She brought me to SM San Lazaro, one weekend, December 27, 2015. There we started our Starbucks thing. Haha Amazing how she helped me also with my sticker collection for ze Planner!!!

And not only did it end there, our adventures had just started lol. On the night of December 30, 2015, we braved QC for Trinoma and SM North EDSA. :D You know I wasn’t supposed to make gala, really, coz it’s like my review and what am I doing out?! Haha But I guess it was just to unwind before classes start again, you know.

KFC was our thing now also. We once went to NAIA 1 to get a package from my Aunt and while we waited there for a long time, we had KFC to feed us. Hahaha

Here’s us in SM North EDSA. :D

So grateful for a friend/adventure buddy like her who goes along with my crazy impromptu plans! Hahaha

US CMA course Get US CMA exam, course syllabus, SUCCESS SECRETS by Akshay Jagani Miles CMA student
If you are looking to go for the US CMA course, this article of Akshay is a must-read to understand how things work with the CMA exams, study techniques, and exam preparation ideas.
Don't miss the video at the end.
The CMA journey of Akshay Jagani, Senior accountant with Juniper networks. Akshay who has 9 years of experience, started his career with HP for 2 years, moved to Brady corporation for 5 years. Then he came to Juniper working for 2.5 years. In this organization, he met several highly qualified people and he could see a difference when comparing himself to them. It motivated him to do the CMA course. Most of the finance and accounting courses in India are lengthy and quite tedious. Working in an MNC its always good to have a relevant qualification.
Working as a normal accountant just like his other colleagues. However after Akshay cleared his CMA exam, he could see the difference in the attitude of the management. They had meetings with Akshay to ensure he stays with the organization giving him more responsibilities as a reviewer from his previous role as a preparer. These changes in a short period are an impact of CMA qualification and that’s the difference Akshay could see.
Varun’s CMA videos are by far the best in the education he has had, Akshay says. The way Varun explains even the toughest CMA topics in a simple easy way.
Check out the CMA video playlist of Varun’s lectures.
The classroom faculty was very helpful in clearing the doubts. And even if one has doubts post the classes, Miles has enabled access to CMA webinars that were extremely helpful for exams. Overall Akshay is very happy with his CMA journey with Miles. Akshay shares his CMA study tips stating that studying every day no matter what. Akshay used to even take up small bits of time of 15 minutes or 30 minutes from his schedule to study so that he doesn’t lose touch. If students have a gap of 3 or 5 days students need to read again to regain the track. A very important tip to study every day, no matter what. Akshay also feels the Miles CMA mock tests are very effective, similar to the exams. They are really helpful before the exams, boosts your confidence by showing where your study levels stand. Akshay had given part 2 first and then part 1 for which he had very little time. Akshay had requested access for part 1 just before the exams which gave him 3–4 days for study. Overall he feels that the Miles team has helped him prepare well.
As per the IMA’s 2019 Global Salary Survey, CMA degree holders globally earn 57% more in median salary and 55% more in median total compensation than non-CMAs. Certified young accountants in their 20s earn 70% more in total compensation than the non-certified, while CMA certified professionals in their 30s earn 67% more than their non-certified peers.
