@ksuzy91 asked me a lot of questions so I figured I’d post them all here! Thank you so much for asking them!!

Q: Did you have an idea in mind when you started writing or was it more of coming up with more ideas when you started or a combo of both??

A: Actually, the original idea was the start of something with @coyotepup345 and then like a week later of us planning, I got this idea that wouldn’t at all fit with what we were doing and then it snowballed from there! I definitely plot before I write but half my plotting comes from writing random scenes!

Q: Will any of your experiences in life be included in the book in any matter?

A: Definitely yes! I mean, I went to College of Charleston and was a theatre major myself, so there’s lots of little things from my experience there in little ways as well as drawing from much bigger things that are part of a much longer journey.

Q: If/when you had writers block, how did you handle it?

A: When I have writers block, I go do something else. I discover a new musical or video game or actually go outside. Read a book, watch music videos, basically emerge myself in other creative things. Also reading friends work??? It’s just really inspiring to see others being accomplished so that helps!

Q: Are there any authors that inspired you to pursue a path in writing a book??

A: Oh gosh. I mean it’s no secret I love Maggie Stiefvater but I was on draft three when I first got introduced to her. So before that, as far as an inspiring author.... Neil Gaiman, definitely! There’s been a lot of authors added to the list who continue to inspire me, though, so I feel like Leigh Bardugo deserves a mention here. AND shout out to Molly Ringle and Kate Martin for guiding me!

Q: When you sit down to write when you’re feeling super inspired, how long does that last??

A: It depends!!! Honestly it can be anywhere from one sentence to... well, one time I wrote 15k in one day? And when I’m in a good mental place, I can do NaNoWriMo at twice speed. ;)

Q: What are the major themes of the book?

A: Ohhhh!! The pursuit of happiness, fighting against fate/other’s expectations, a lot of finding yourself and your true aspirations. Questioning what’s sin and virtue. It’s fun! ;)

Q: Is it friendly for all ages?

A: Nope. My forward will have trigger warnings, although there is nothing explicit necessarily. Just some of the topics are mature in theme. It’s definitely an adult book. Sexual situations, death, language, etc. it deals with sin and demons so there’s some dark topics. But nothing explicit on page, so! I think if you can read The Raven Cycle or The Mortal Instruments you should be good. If you want to be extra safe I would say Six of Crows level.

Q: What feelings do you hope to evoke after someone has read it?

A: I honestly hope it just makes people think! I want others to be inspired! I dream of being that author who helps people through their own writer’s block or inspiration lag in any of the arts. But I also really want, specifically, “How dARE YOU? I LOVE IT.”

Q: Would you ever agree to it being turned into a tv show or movie if you had creative control and a say in the casting? ☺️

A: It would be a DREAM. But honestly I don’t know if I’d want completely control. There are some people that know that side a lot better than me, as far as casting and such. I mean, I have a scenic and lighting design degree, but I stopped for a reason! As far as casting specifically, as long as the ethnicities stay the same I don’t care too much about hair/eye/etc color. But don’t white wash but also don’t make the aggressive white man a black man, you know? I’d be pretty picky over the writing, though, if I could be. Being a producer or writer of the show/movie would be hella cool......

honestly I really do wish more of WW fandom knew about the Epilogue beyond simply those who happened to find it on their disc after the film was released to home video. it would have been so wonderful if the majority of fics that exploded into existence the summer after the film came out could have had that as part of the canon they worked from, and potentially included things like “Etta, who can canonically knock out a grown man with a beer bottle and a chair, starts leading the lads on grand espionage adventures as bravely and capably as Steve ever did” and “Charlie stops drinking within a month of the war ending and tries to make the most out of the new lease on life Diana brought him”. like that’s content we deserved to have in the hundreds dammit!! it should’ve stayed a post-credits scene

Theo planted a foot on the mattress and pushed, rolling Niklas off him so they were on their sides facing each other and slinging one leg over his thighs once they were comfortable.

Niklas’s eyelids weighed a thousand pounds. He tried to blink, to open his eyes, but he was overtaken by a yawn instead.

Theo laughed softly and placed a featherlight kiss on Niklas’s nose. “Sleep,” he said. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”

Saint loved the rain. It settled something deep in his soul, the patter of the raindrops on the windows, the deep rumble of the thunder and the way the lightning lit up the landscape in a frozen tableau that left the afterimages printed on his eyelids when he blinked.

He was standing at the huge bay window in his living room, watching the gathering clouds as the first drops streaked the window, when Carmine burst in, making him jump.

“I can’t find Steel’s Thundershirt,” he said. His hair was on end, eyes big with worry.

“His what?”

Carmine made a vague gesture that explained nothing. “It’s a--sort of like compression gear. It calms him down during storms, he hates them, and I can’t find it.”

“Go get him,” Saint ordered. “And bring one of your favorite hoodies!” he called to Carmine’s retreating figure.

Carmine reappeared a few minutes later, a Boston Otters hoodie slung over one arm and Steel trembling at his heels, belly low to the floor. Saint took the hoodie and crouched, crooning to Steel as he slipped the fabric over his head. It didn’t take long at all to wrap the arms around Steel’s chest, securing them in a knot at the back of his neck.

“There,” he said, and glanced at Carmine. “Where do you usually take him?” 

“Anywhere he can cuddle with me.” Carmine’s eyes were soft, watching them.

“Bed, then,” Saint decided, and picked Steel up without waiting for Carmine.

They crawled into the bed and Saint got Steel settled between them. Steel curled up in a ball, shivering as lightning cracked. Saint put a calming hand on his ribs and Carmine laced their fingers together.

“Is this good?” Saint asked. He could barely see Carmine’s face in the dim room, but he didn’t miss the sweet smile.

“Yeah,” Carmine whispered. “This is perfect.”
