Originally I had planned a spell that would incorporate taking branches from my weeping willow and honeysuckle, and weaving them together to encircle everything else. I knew both would be very useful within the spell, but I couldn't figure out the right way to go about it. Both plants seemed willing and open to it (especially with an exchange of goods), but it didn't feel correct removing from them for the sake of this spell.

After working with them for a bit longer and thinking on it, I asked if they would be able to lend their energy and strength to the spell from a small distance. They made it work, and after some offerings of honeycomb and nourishment to their plants, seem to be working very well with the spell itself!

I'm not sure if this will absolutely last long term (especially come winter or any disease or harm to them), but as I do not expect this spell to need to last forever, this seems like a better method than cutting off their branches and potentially damaging their growth in the process. I do anticipate needing to do more in terms of offerings however, to ensure consistency and continued strength.

Linked Universe x Mercy Thompson crossover idea.

Somehow the Chain are dropped into the MT world and ambushed by a rogue werewolf pack or something. They're all (or at least several of them are) mauled badly enough to undergo the change.

Twi gets control of his wolf the fastest (since he's more acquainted with being a wolf), but for reasons nobody in the Chain quite understand, it's Sky's wolf who ends up as alpha. There's a ton of in-fighting at first because they all have the Spirit of the Hero, and thus a stupidly powerful instinct to protect. Given their own packs, every single one of them would be an alpha, no question.

They show up near the Tri-cities, and Adam of course finds out & gets involved because what is this entire pack of alpha-level wolves doing in my territory?, which would then lead to Bran getting involved for the same reason.

I think Hylians (and also Hylian Heroes, specifically) would probably be considered their own brand of preternatural creature. But then they go and add werewolf to the mix (accidentally) and you're left with some crazy powerful—and good—Hero wolves. Their wolves inherit some of their abilities (Four can shrink, Twi can change easily, Ruley can do magic, Wind can see ghosts, etc), so they end up being even more powerful (or at least more versatile) than vanilla werewolves.

Okay no what makes this even more funny is the image of Adam showing up with his pack after scenting nine super-dominant wolves in the area, only to find a group of eight teenagers and their adopted dad (who isn't even their alpha somehow??), ranging in size from Exactly Average Height Time all the way down to ankle-biter Four.

And yet these pipsqueaks are all dominant enough to be alphas in their own right.
