Coyote Canyon Trail Overland Adventure! - Jeep OHV 4x4 - Coyote Creek, Winter Wildflowers, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, Southern California
Full Video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQYPvqj2ouU
Join me for an epic overland adventure to Coyote Creek in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, in eastern San Diego county, Southern California.  This is one of the most pristine and beautiful desert wilderness areas I have ever seen, and is only accessible beyond the first few miles by high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicles.  The northernmost area of Borrego Springs is the entry point to Coyote Canyon for vehicle traffic, and the winter wildflowers are starting to bloom over the open fields.
All the best,
William Z. Brennan

A few recent photos taken down at the creek to finish 2024 out!
For 2025, my goals are to make a lot more art and spend a lot more time out in nature. Mainly just aiming to survive and thrive. <3
I hope this coming year brings SO much love and joy and prosperity to all of you wonderfully rad folks. Thank you for making this world a better and brighter place <3

Jack of the Wood, of the Green, of the Tales, of Many Names.
I wanted to lean a bit into the whole “aura of summer” he has going on occasionally and got a bit self indulgent. All the species depicted (except one) are found within the Appalachian mountain range.

Here's a bonus sketch I did for @coyoteesquire-blog, featuring Nikola's medieval design! I took this as an opportunity to practice action poses. :3 Arrow showers are much less pleasant than April showers!

Did you know that coyotes will howl and jabber and carry on to an ambulance siren just like a husky will? Because I just found out. :D

Cross Creek (1983). In the 1930s, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings moves to Florida's backwaters to write in peace. She feels bothered by affectionate men, editor and confused neighbors, but soon she connects and writes The Yearling, a classic of American literature.
It's a bummer that this one really doesn't work, as it's got a killer cast (Mary Steenburgen! Alfre Woodard!) and is one of my favourite genres (southern gothic!). It just never seems to go anywhere though, and the writing is really weighed down by some pretty racist stereotypes and sexism. There's a good movie in here somewhere, but yeah. This isn't it. Two stars for some nice cinematography in the final act and actresses who do their best with very little. 4/10.

Found a nice little patch of some lovely crinoid fossils while creeking for a bit earlier today. Even found part of a calyx from one—don't find those terribly often around here!
And little did I know, there was a coyote exploring around on the bank right behind me while I was filming this. Got a quick, potato-quality video of her just as she noticed me and ran off. Young coyote and she obviously has puppies right now. So cool!
