More glimpses of Spira from noclip.

I just discovered the houses in Besaid Village have wicker screens that can be erected to block off the doors just inside their entrances at night, providing a bit of a porch for shedding wet clothes (It must get a lot of rain; every house has a rainbarrel on the roof.)

Also, I've been providing these without commentary so you can look at the images and discover things on your own,but a few observations on previous photosets:

In the Crusader's Lodge, there's a map of Spira. You've probably caught that, but what I hadn't noticed was the sword rack on the other side of that divider wall, or the inkwell and pen on the "innkeeper" desk. There's also a couple spear racks and the Crusader banner, and piles of food and drink stores against the wall by Gatta's desk.

That ruin on the path from Besaid Village where Kimahri jumps down to haze Tidus? The roots sprawling all over it are really spectacular.

In the Aurochs' Luca locker room, in addition to the ball rack, there's a shelf with folded towels and some binders/books: one is named "SPORTS"; I haven't worked out the others. Also there's posters for past tournaments between the Aurochs and various teams including the Bevelle Bells. And, to my disappointment, I was finally able to read the names on the lockers, but they're just things like Xcdef Yghij Zklmn in Spiran script.

Maester Mika's ship has paddlewheels as well as sails.

The street vender in Luca Square, who I believe was Al Bhed, has Luca Goers and Al Bhed Psyches t-shirts for sale. a "blitzball" magazine,baseball caps, team posters and pennants.

Rin's Travel Agency offers "Free Rooms." Does that mean "rooms available," or does the Church of Yevon subsidize an Al Bhed businessman to keep couriers and other travelers from being killed by fiends? The latter sounds like typical Yevon hypocrisy and a nice racket for Rin.

After Operation Mi'ihen fails, the Al Bhed's ginormous laser canon (same kind of guns Cid fits on the airship) lies broken across the lefthand side of the beach; Auron's standing in its shadow. Right after the disaster, there's corpses or something blocking the way so you can't go back, but soon that barrier is removed so you can use the fallen gun as a ramp up to Mushroom Rock Road.

The shoopuf's body is dimly visible underwater. (In general, anytime there's something visible underwater, or there's a reflection, it's actually a complete model on the other side of the water/glass, flipped if it needs to be a mirror image.)

Is Macalania Temple another airship?

When the party falls through the ice at Macalania Lake, they land on the miscellaneous debris stuck on Sin's head. From above, you can see its two fins looming in the background.

In Bevelle, the chamber where the guard pushes Tidus into the water side of the Via Purifico also has the gate to Yuna's side and the door to Jecht's cell. if Braska hadn't freed Jecht, that might've been where he was headed.

The Tower of Light of Bevelle, atop which Yuna's wedding took place, rises up behind Bevelle's main gates, visible from the Highbridge.

Yojimbo's Fayth is sealed with ribbons that read "Seal."

If you've ever seen a fayth statue of Jecht, it's a phenomenal piece of fanart that's been floating around on the web for over a decade. It's not in-game.

Iruka liked the rain just fine. When he was indoors and not trying to carry home an entire stack of paperwork without them getting totally soaked through, that is. He didn’t regret training to become a teacher, but his current position as an assistant meant that a lot of the other teachers were taking advantage of having a lackey to do the grunt work for them.

Iruka, grade the tests for these three classes.

Iruka, go collect all the stray kunai that went into the woods during target practice.

Iruka, do something about that crying child.

It wasn’t that he necessarily minded the work—the grading was good practice and something he’d have to get used to, and it was better that he was the one to comfort little Mika-chan rather than one of the other teachers who had less patience—but it was tiring on top of the rest of his work, too. He was still running the occasional courier mission, managing work at the mission desk, and helping the Hokage with his declassified filing system at least twice a week. Then the work at the academy and finishing his teaching certification. It was a lot, and as much as he loved his village and his jobs, there were days when he wished everyone would be a little more appreciative of the effort he put in.

You’re not becoming a teacher to be appreciated, he reminded himself sternly. He was well aware that it would be a largely thankless job between the kids who would likely only see value in the practical lessons and the parents who would doubtlessly find flaws in Iruka’s teaching no matter how hard he tried. But it was something he was good at, and more than that, if he could help the next generation of genin be stronger, smarter…if he could help them stay alive longer, then it would be worth it.

And in the meantime, if he had to put up with carrying what felt like ten pounds of paper through the rain, then that was just how it was.

Two short blocks from his house, and already drenched to the bone—he’d be lucky if the papers were still legible at this point—there was a cry from one of the nearby alleyways.

Iruka’s steps faltered even as he cursed internally. He was so damn close to home. Maybe it’s just a cat. Konoha had more than its fair share of strays, and especially in this part of town, where the rent was cheap and the residents less…polished then elsewhere. Iruka had lived here since his genin days, and though he had a steadier income now as a chuunin with multiple jobs, he’d never been able to justify moving.

But all that meant was that there’s was just as much a chance of it being a cat as someone who needed help, and Iruka had never been able to fully shake the habit of sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. Tucking the papers under his arm as best as he could just in case he needed his hands free to weave signs, he made his way towards the alley he thought he’d heard the sound come from.

At first, he only saw the three young adults standing around together, civilians by their clothing and around Iruka’s age. He was going to leave them be—if they were up to something shady, it would be for the Konoha Police to handle; Iruka was too damn tired to be bothered—but that was before he saw the small figure curled up at their feet.

A child. It had to be. They were far too small to be an adult, or even a teenager. Smaller than most of the academy kids, even the first-years, though maybe that was just because this kid was curled up in the fetal position, head tucked under his arms, knees bunched up to guard his stomach.

All the important, soft parts protected, Iruka noted, dread curling in his gut. His instincts were proven correctly not a moment later when one of the adults spat at the child before kicking him roughly in the side.

Iruka had seen more than enough.

“Hey!” he shouted, hands already folded into the first sign he’d need for a water jutsu, just in case. Shinobi weren’t supposed to attack civilians, but to stop a fight—or, more accurately, a beating—exceptions could be made.

It didn’t come to that, however, because as soon as the three assailants caught sight of Iruka, they turned and bolted in the opposite direction, practically tripping over their own feet to get away. A part of him wanted to chase after them and get them detained for hurting a child, but the child’s safety was a priority right now, and besides, he could always file a report with the Police later.

After he was sure the child was okay.

Iruka approached carefully, slowly so as not to startle the kid. The child was still clutching at themself protectively, whimpering, so either they hadn’t yet realized that their attackers had left, or they were hurt.

“They’re gone now,” Iruka offered, soothing as he crouched next to the child. “They’re gone. You’re safe.”

But instead of relaxing the way Iruka had hoped they would, the child jolted at the nearness of his voice and scrambled away in a flurry of motion until their back was pressed against the wall of the alley, bright blue eyes wide and wary as they watched Iruka.

Oh, he realized, recognizing the boy by the blond of his hair, the whisker-marks along his cheeks. The kid the Kyuubi was sealed into. Naru-something. Naruto?

Suddenly, the fact that he’d been cornered on the ground and kicked around was making a lot more sense, and Iruka felt himself tensing up. He’d never, ever hit a kid, but that didn’t mean he had to go out of his way to be kind, especially for this kid.

Not when Iruka’s own parents had been killed in the Kyuubi Attack. Not when that had orphaned him, ruined his life, left him homeless and hurt and—

Except, like this, standing in the rain and soaked through to the bone, so much that the boy was a trembling, shaking mess, blond hair plastered to his face, blue eyes big and sad and wary, holding his arms protectively around his ribs like he was hiding an injury, a nasty bruise forming across his temple, and so thin, so narrow with frail little wrists and hands so small—

Iruka could not think of this boy as a monster. He was just a boy. A hurt child who was in desperate need of warm clothes and food and maybe the hospital, if those ribs of his were more than just bruised. He was just a child—he couldn’t have been more than five at most, even taking the obvious malnourishment into consideration—and some adults had kicked him like he was alley trash.

And that was just what Iruka had seen today. Who knew what else the boy had been dealing with?

“I’m not going to hurt you,” Iruka said after a long moment. “How about this? Why don’t we get you warmed up, get something to eat, see if I can’t get those cuts treated, and then we’ll go see the Hokage.”

The boy eyed Iruka carefully, with far too much caution for such a young kid. “I didn’t do nothin’ wrong.”

“No,” Iruka agreed gently. “But the people who hurt you did, and we should tell the Hokage so he can make sure they don’t do it again.”

He seemed to consider it for a moment, but something resigned and tired weighed him down after a second. “Don’t matter. It’ll jus’ happen ‘gain when I gets back to the or-pha-nage.”

Of course he’s being hurt there too, Iruka thought, trying to tamp down his anger so the kid didn’t think Iruka was angry at him. Orphanages weren’t great places to begin with—he could attest to that from personal experience even if he ultimately hadn’t been in one long—but there was a difference between the unintentional neglect that happened because of bad funding and being understaffed versus specifically singling out kids to hurt them, and Iruka would place all his bets on the latter being true for Naruto.

Fuck that.

“Then we’ll just have to get the Hokage to sort that out, too,” Iruka said stubbornly. Realistically, he knew there wasn’t much that could be done. Neglect could be difficult to prove, and it wasn’t as though there was a large pool of people who could be trusted to take care of the boy even if they fired the people responsible, and less that would even want to.

That doesn’t matter, Iruka thought as he looked at the shivering, half-starved, injured child. He deserves better than this. Even…even if I have to do it myself. “I’m Iruka.” He held out his hand and smiled when the boy took it after only a brief hesitation. “How do you feel about ramen?”

So my Jasper is dyslexic and hard of hearing, I also have another courier named Celeste who is a bit blind (she has a constant blur). Both couriers have memory loss, Celeste’s is a bit more major than Jasper’s. And Margot has ADHD

👨‍👨‍👦 what is their family like? what is their relationship to their family? do they have any siblings?

So for this one, I’ll use the siblings– Jasper and Margot. Their relationship to their parents wasn’t great and decided to leave their home together, heading east. From there they had a bit of a fallout which caused Margot to run away just before the new vegas timeline, giving Jasper bitter feelings until about the fallout 4 timeline, when he finally comes around again. They have a pretty solid bond after that point.

🐶 do they have any pets?

I’ve left my Overboss oc, Mika, out of this so far, so I’ll bring her in here. She does not have any personal pets, but likes to claim the Pack animals as her own and especially likes the ghoulrillas!

🍒 a random sweet headcanon.

Jasper likes to occasionally bring flowers to his lady friends, Cass, Veronica, and Lily– and to his crush, Arcade.

Margot steals her companions’ gear when they don’t need it so she can fix it up for them without them knowing.

Mika desperately wants to ride some of the working Kiddie Kingdom rides, but never will because of her reputation.

Celeste cannot properly shoot and is too embarrassed to tell any of her companions.

Mafia AU: The Real Folk Blues

The Courier

“Don’t get attach to me now cause I don’t plan on staying here. Once this dept is paid, I’m leaving to start a new life with my sister.”

Yuuki is temporarily working for the mob as a courier in order to pay off a dept made by her biological father. She is raising her little sister, Mika, on her own because her mother and step-father have recently passed away. Hopes to pay up the debt very soon and then runaway to make a new-better life for Mika and herself.

“I never wanted to be a cop, my father forced me into the uniform. I hated it, but I still thought I could do some right in the uniform... Oh how wrong I was back then...”

Mason is a rouge cop; who left the force after being disillusioned from all the corruption happening between the police force, the mafia, and the politicians. He’s basically a vigilante causing a whole lot of chaos and problems for the mob.
