Fallout doodle, not sure if I'll fix it up

My boi Six/Felix was a Legionnaire before he was shot and he was also in a secret relationship with Vulpes. Vulpes very much went off the deep end when he thought his lover was dead.

I have a whole fic planned but I've hesitated on posting it because it features a Vulpes redemption arc and I wasn't sure if people would like that.

My whole headcanon/au of sorts includes Vulpes not being a name but really a title that gets passed to the leader of the Frumentarii. And while there were some who suspected Felix and Vulpes were more than friends, there was nothing they could do unless Caesar gave the okay and Caesar saw them as too useful to lose.

So yeah when they're finally reunited, Vulpes is thrilled to have him back, only to get his heart ripped out again when Six has no idea who he is, rejects the Legion and condemns their actions, even calling Vulpes a monster. Their relationship is extremely complicated and they're both very messed up and did a lot of awful shit. Like Six doesn't get off the hook just because he can't remember any of it.

When you say no to Caesar, because he wants you to kill the one person who is paying you to even be there. It could also have something to do with the NCR armour he's wearing. Felix isn't about to lay down his life for a person who he barely knows and has definitely caused problems for him in the past.

I've found Felix really easy to meme with, so definitely expect more of that in the future.

This is a redraw of the scene in Tangled during the number in the tavern just before Flynn's part.

Doodle time!

I haven't drawn chibi in years, so I got some mixed results. I drew sunglasses on Jamie (courier) since I couldn't get her eyes right. Sole Survivor is content with being a floating head.

Also, introducing my Legion OC, Felix! (He's not in the legion for very long, don't worry.) The cape is part of what he wore in his original tribe. I don't think Caesar would actually let him keep it.

Feel free to send character requests for chibis, I might just get around to it!

Audiodrama Sunday 11/3/2024

Happy Audiodrama Sunday! This week, the Victoriocity novel, the pilot of Brimstone Valley Mall season 2, Witherburn After School News, and more!

@victoriocity - Season 3 finale! It was a great ending, I saw the twist coming about 5 minutes before they revealed it. The fake phone call was really good. Also, High Vaultage! I started reading the Victoriocity novel and it's great so far.

@kingmakerpod - I finally listened to the bodyswap episode. It was as good as people have been hyping it up to be. The VAs did such good work.

@brimstonevalleymall - Season 2 pilot! Love the explanation for Nisroch’s VA change. Trainee is quickly becoming my favorite character. Also Felix Trench??? I love audiodrama VA crossovers.

@witherburn-after-school-news - I started this show, and listened to most of the backlog this week. I'm loving it, the stuff about oral history in monster of the week is very cool. The mix of small town antics and weird shit going on in the background is exactly the sort of thing I like. I don't remember who recommended this but it ended up on my to-listen list somehow.

Skyjacks: Courier's Call - The description of a 401k was so funny, followed by “what is kidtown?”, which was such a brutal character move. Aaron Catano-Saez is such a versatile performer.

@midnightburgr - Welcome to the Horizon part 7, out of 11! 2 more episodes! Verge this episode hit me really hard emotionally. They're such an interesting character.

@midstpodcast - The high altitude research station was very cool, I'm still waiting for something horrible to happen and set the tone for the rest of the show.

I still haven't listened to the new Starfall. Sometimes when I get really sucked into a show(Witherburn) I just binge it and ignore most other shows. But I'll get around to it next week.

Contemplating doing a write up on this very silly man I discovered while deep diving in local newspaper archives from the 1880s. The dude invited Oscar Wilde to give a talk here and then was appalled at the idea of Wilde visiting his house. Through further research from there, I'm pretty sure he was a snobby rich kid who desperately wanted to get in with the Aesthetic movement by playing poet but was embarrassed at how badly Wilde's American tour tanked.

Thinkin' about Zatavia 'Tav' Felix (my BG3 character) growing up - notes under the cut:

Her mother (thankfully) survived her birth but it was all a bit of a mess and Tav's parents opted not to try for children again (Tav is an only child - her family wanted a lot of children but Tav's difficulty nipped that in the bud. There may have been a bit of lingering resentment.)

She was, quite frankly, a miserable and often awful child. Generally because the world around her wouldn't meet her on her level, and she didn't fear authority enough to not speak her mind. Bullied and beleaguered, though loved by her parents when she came to the end of primary school, the family had to have a long talk about what she was going to do.

Monastic training was the choice, and honestly it really suited her, she took to the discipline and routine of it and lost the angry edge of childhood (although she's remained stubborn, fierce, and strong though now uses those to better effect.) Sidenote: All the preteens/teens tend to steal the contraband in the locked box in the office and fiddle around with it - from cigarettes to firecrackers, it's fine, kindof a right of passage. She shaved her hair short and kept it that way for the rest of her time at the monastery (not required, but very practical.)

Her teenage years really were more of the light and fun years than her childhood, and she enjoyed physically training in marital arts, caring for animals, cooking, cleaning, and all the various other shifts that keep the monastery running (although like everyone would try to trade off latrine duty.) She also got her head around social interaction with her peers (although remained straightforward, bossy, and sometimes a little mean.)

In her early twenties she was ready to set out on her own as a wandering monk, and has been one for the last twenty years. She's seen a lot of Faerûn on her own by this point - although traveling on her own means she's never taken on truly challenging adversaries or adventures (just doing what she can to get by, get a meal, and find a place to rest - and she was quite happy that way.) She started growing her hair out and wearing the kohl around her eyes when she left the monastery (cuts down on glare.)

Fun Facts:

Her family lived in the Seatower area (part of the Lower City across the bay from the events of BG3. She points this out to Karlach when they are having dinner at the Singing Lute as they have a great view across the bay.)

Her hair was black before it went gray (starting in her late 20s and really going full gray in her late 30s.)

She got her lip tattoo at 19, a number of her friends got similar tattoos at the time (they were, dare we say, trendy.)

The monastery she is from (and returns to occasionally) is technically in service of Helm but Tav has a dim view of religion (normal for a monk - it's not like her prowess comes from any god.) It is one of the largest Monasteries in Baulder's Gate proper in the Temples area of the Upper City.

Her parents passed some years prior to game events - a bit on the younger side for Tiefling lifespans but nothing noteworthy. Her father passed after a loosing a painful battle with dropsy (cancer), and her mother died a few years later of an unknown illness. Their siblings cared for them in their convalescence as Tav was traveling, but she made it home before either of them passed.

Her mother was an in-town courier (mail carrier) and her father was a cook at a riverside pub.

All along there's no reason why she and Karlach wouldn't have crossed paths in their younger years (before Tav left the city), but they don't know each other till game events (and yes, there is a significant gap in their ages.) Mostly I wanted to just sketch something cute.
