En Ruanda, todavía hoy, hay gente que no come pescado. Durante el genocidio miles de cuerpos se arrojaron al lago Kivu. Como los peces empezaron a alimentarse de carne humana, varias personas decidieron eliminarlos de su dieta: no quieren ingerir los restos de sus propios familiares. 

Sus lengua oficiales son el francés, Kiñaruanda, inglés, suajili
