Mira todo fue un efecto bola de nieve: argentina y mexico tienen el partido, hay rivalidades y tensiones y las vienen a manifestar en mi inbox, hay gente gay de por medio que quería que lo resolvamos a los besos. Mientras tanto juega Brasil me mandan un mini fic de Messi y Richarlison porque los brasileros no se quedaban atrás. Mexico:

cravings: sweet things, particularly caramel, a lot of caramel

Symptoms: Mexico for sure gets the most horrendous cramps and pain known to man, but she just continues to power through. Like the average Joe would have no damn clue that she is currently experiencing the pain of a thousand suns every month cuz on the outside it's just business as usual. In fact, she even tries to exercise on her period as well, since she heard it can help with the pain. It doesn't. She still does it anyway. Also I think she would get digestion/stool issues sometimes if you know what I mean 😬

Spouse/friends: idk who I ship Mexico with (despite the fact she's my fav cuz I'm extremely Mexican), but I do know who I think her exes are!

America: when they dated America was kind of an ass (and when I say kind of I mean very much so), so he didn't really do much to help during that time of the month. In fact, he'd def be one of those guys, whenever Mexico is upset with something he did, to be like ‘it's that time of the month isn't it?’ (He wouldn't do that anymore, but their also not dating anymore, so 🤷🏽‍♂️)

Germany: he was also not as nice as he is now, but not as bad as America. He wouldn't do much, not because he didn't care necessarily, but mostly because he didn't understand that periods could be that bad. To him it was just bleeding for a week, he didn’t get what was so bad.

Friends: you know the besties, Chile, Peru, Columbia, are coming over right away with caramel ice cream, flan drenched in caramel sauce, a heating pad, and a collection of awful Latino soap operas. They're so close, I lowkey think they'd either be synced up(in that case they'd all bring more stuff for each other), or they just have a schedule for each other

I think its important to recognize the “super dominant ” countries in Latin America and that’s Brasil and Mexico. The rest of the Latin American countries are minorities and under represented. My point is when the non dominant country is getting positive representation or having media attention on their affairs, let them have that representation and media. I don’t need Brasil to meddle in South American countries representation or affairs and make it about them in some kind of way. Mind your business and stay in your lane. I always have seen that since I was born it’s so annoying. Countries that are not neighboring countries to Brasil are so lucky. They are the biggest (passive aggressive) bully in South America you have no idea.

Mexico I don’t think you are a bully you seem to be respectful, didn’t want to insinuate that you are a bully. You just have a stronger economy (more money) than all of us, which makes you dominant. I could go on about South American drama between the very south, Peru versus Chile versus Argentina versus Bolivia , but that is another story for later. This one is for Brasil exclusively.

In the future, I would hope we can support one another on our accomplishments or issues instead of getting jealous one country is getting more attention than the other.

So I'm writing a fun little countryhumans book on the cold war, and do to how broad that topic is, I am just not going to be able to cover anything. Since I will barely be able to scratch the surface on how America f*cked with the governments of Latinoamerica, I am not just considering writing a book on either all of the coups, or picking a country and writing about their specific coup and dictatorship. You got me thinking about it so I thought you would find it intersting.

Temporary Title is "America Fucks Over Latin America for his own gain, but what else is new?"

I find it particularly interesting to research about Brazil (who could've guessed) because of the surrounding context - it's sometimes called a Civic-Military Dictatorship because of the participation of certain social stratas plus the USAmerican meddling - but another country I've always found interesting to learn more about the other Latino countries in the time period. So it'd be super interesting to see it being covered!
